Proudy Peacock

Titl

Thought : Peacock is known as the proudest bird. The reason is, it's feathers are used to embellish Lord Krishna's coronet , so why wouldn't the bird be full of pride and dignity? :)

The Immortal Essence: Soul

2012-08-02T15:10:00.002+05:30

Genre : Abstract
Acrylic on Handmade Sheet,18+hours
Description : The painting depicts 4 Tatvas as Blue(Water), Green(Air) , Red (Fire) and Yellow(Earth). The four colours were chosen as they form a part of the primary colour set. The Body is made up of the four tatvas hence the colours are (transparently) superimposed on the body as well as on the other tatvas. And the white square part (heart of the man) shows the soul; it’s the area where all the four tatvas coincide. This shows soul is unaffected by the classical elements, the body is created using the elements and destroyed back to return to the elements, but the soul remains intact. It does not participate in this transaction. The Distortion of the shape of the body shows, if any one of the element is missing the body is not complete. The background shows nature and every other thing in the world (made up of the classical elements). Dark Brown shows decay, the Golden shows the return.
Protection and Care: Don’t expose/display it under direct UV rays, the painting may get dull.

Status : Available , will be on display at the ZARAH Art Exhibition.

Elementary Strata

2012-08-02T15:07:00.000+05:30

Genre : Fractal Art
Watercolors on Handmade Sheet, 7+ hours
Description : 4 tatvas are shown in layers. The top most circle shows spirit (White circle). The layer just below the spirit is water (Petals with blue white ripples). Layer, below it, is Fire (Red Ribbons), the next layer is Air (Greenish blue) and the bottom most layer is Earth. The Orangish-yellow and the Reddish ribbons connect the 4 directions (N, W, E, S) with the spirit.
The diagonals divide it into 4 regions,( according to the Greek elements): hot, wet, dry and cold zones.
Protection and Care: None required.
Status : Available, will be on display at ZARAH Art Exhibition, Delhi

Mystical Lines

Mystical Lines :
There's something mystical about the Sufi dancers, they dance in pain, in ecstasy, in sombre and in glory ....and the aura created is beyond this materialistic world. They go deeper and find the real "SELF".

Silent Visage

2012-03-07T18:32:00.000+05:30

Oil on Canvas cloth (unmounted) (10X16)
Concept :Expressionless Face of "Tree"

A tree has to undergo a lot of asperities, yet it remains expressionless
and maintains equanimity. I used several shades of green and tones of
brown and mustard to depict the various severity(seasonal changes).

Critics are welcome.

As Speechless as silence we live
Under the sun, shades of life we give
Fruits, flowers, fire and rain
We bestow all for humans' gain,

We are their future, the real power
but, see what they reward
Scars from axes they shower
if only, we could self-guard!

Watercolor set, 2 round brushes(one medium[8] and one thin[4] ).I have not used any masking fluid, neither any cotton/tissue to wipe out the white portions but left spaces as i completed the work, layer by layer. I didnt put much finishing touches as the idea was jus to experiment the DOF effect. The final work is posted below with the name : "Bunch"

Nature's Love

2010-07-03T00:29:00.000+05:30

Nature's Love:Watercolors,about 3 hours.
Basic concept is how the feminine(She) and the masculine(he) parts of nature loves each other to create and balance life. It's the true portrayal of LOVE..It can be seen everywhere, waterfalls meeting the rocks , waves meeting the shores, horizon -where earth and sky meet...the little colorful butterflies siting on flowers... if you notice it's all around us.

To show nature i used a lot of red (designs) and green tones (symbolizing flora and fauna) and blue(water and sky) in the work.and if you notice a bit more deeply, you'll be able to see that they are holding each other in arms ..as if "she" has her hand on his face(follow the lines to the red color design to his face) and "he" is holding her (follow the line to the yellow colored design on her hair).
