New Work

2011-07-28T16:14:00.000-07:00

I have been working with encaustic, tempera and ink. The ongoing theme of a thickette, functional pottery and gardening, seem to be the repeated motif. Each piece is an exploration in structure and line. The flowers are memories. wonderful memories.

Clay, and all the wonderful things that make it so much fun.

2011-03-22T08:30:00.000-07:00

Becoming a potter and working with clay in so many forms, has really enriched my life. There is so much more to pottery than just making that first pot. But, it is that first piece you fall in love with that takes you into a journey with limitless outcomes. I have come full circle with clay. Teaching the kids how to make objects and create unique items for themselves is exciting. They make me laugh all the time. and their ideas are so wonderful and full of stories and pride. It has been a joy for me to experience this. Thanks Kids !!!!

Digital Images and the Comparison to the Abstract Object

2011-03-13T10:09:00.000-07:00

It becomes a structual matter which creates digital space forms.

The new mosaic is moving right along.

In Michigan, the Studio changes with the seasons.

It's like the Klondike, only grainier. The winters are cold, very cold. It takes on a gray and white surreal landscape. It's the rust belt and the interesting people belt, with a bunch of stuff to do all the time, belt. So, I paint.

The Artist Statement 2011

2011-01-22T09:22:00.000-08:00

Full circle creative energy becoming the vessal, becoming the line, becoming the form, again and again. Is this Folk Art ? Is this Contemporary Fine Art ? Is it Latino Art ? Is it Chola ? Is it Wetta ? When asked these questions, I just top them with ..Am I a Potter ? Am I a Painter ?

It's all blending together in both disciplines.
