A Gift From a Friend

I received this gift a couple of weeks ago from a blogger friend http://sewandcut.blogspot.com/. Thank you SewandCut (JL) for this wonderful gift. LOVE the color purple and really really admire the crocheted mangosteen. I name it my "buah cucuk" LOL....for those who don't understand what it means, go ask Miss Babel or Mr Google...*-*

By the way, the green apple is not mine. It belongs to another friend, Yatie Manik who shares the same passion in beading.

A Story Worth Sharing.....

The title says 'Pencinta Manik' which translate to 'beads lover'. How appropriate and very accurate when telling the stories about this wonderful group of beautiful and talented, sometimes chaotic, most of the time exceedingly talkative but overall fun, fun, fun to be acquainted with.......simply because they share the same passion as I do. And that is beading.

Under the column called 'Hati' which means heart this article was published few days ago in a local newspaper (Harian Metro) on how a group of friends who got to know each other mostly from the popular social network Facebook meet every once in a while to share our knowledge, bead work and such. Most of us are homemaker so we do have a lot of things in common.

What most captured my attention when I read this article was the tag line 'terapi minda' that they use to overall describe why we do the thing that we do. 'Terapi minda' or mind therapy are right indeed. Beading has help me build my self confident, motivate me and help me enhance my talent. Since I've been beading I have made friends with lots of people and have enjoyed my life more and my days have been less stressful indeed, thanks to beading. And I most definitely grateful for the profit that comes along with it. I just wish more people out there would learn this skills and share this interesting and mostly lucrative hobby.

Green With Envy please.......

Working with plain canvas is always a bliss for me. No different with this plain green Kurung Pahang from chiffon. I would like to extend my gratitude to Sheik Azmi for lending me his beautiful creation(original design by Sheik Azmi). I did however change a little bit of the design to make it my own. Here is my version of the design.

This beautiful red dress needs only a little touch up to be perfect. Hence, I came up with this bouquet of flowers design and applied them on the waist line to give the dress a sophisticated yet classy kind of look. I try to leave the sleeves as simple as possible trying not to over shadow the flower bouquet. So here are the results......

Sharing Is Caring

Got a rather huge job (project) offer in the midst of dealing with my daily chores and trying to complete my Hari Raya job entrust to me by my customers. The task was to sew beads on 1000 pieces of tote bag from Crabtree & Evelyn. Only problem was the job had a deadline and must be completed within 10 days. So, we've decided to delegate the job among us (Beaders Gang) as it is our motto that 'Sharing Is Caring'. I'll let the rest of the pics tell the story for me...........
