The Breakfast Sandwich

As the Florida State Fair begins, the crazy food concoctions begin as well. The fried burgers, mac and cheese, and whatever else can be created comes to life. I have seen the doughnut burger a few times but what about making a doughnut breakfast sandwich. This my version of it.

DOUGHNUT BREAKFAST SANDWICH

Glazed Doughnut (cut in half)
Bacon
Sausage Patty
Eggs

Assemble the sandwich so that the glazed portion of the doughnut will face the bacon, sausage, and eggs. Cook the other items according to their instructions. You can also add cheese if you would like. Enjoy!

While dining at Beef O Brady's with my family, I tried this excellent IPA beer. The name is Old Elephant Foot, and it was excellent. The brewery the beer comes from is the Tampa Bay Brewing Company. Making doughnuts is a great way to spend time with the family. Here is a simple recipe that you can use. You will need the following ingredients.

Pre made biscuits (don't use the flaky type)
Cinnamon and sugar
Butter (melted)

Cut a hole in the pre made biscuits. In skillet, heat enough olive oil to fill the bottom of the skillet. Cook the biscuit on both sides until golden brown. Dip the biscuit in the melted butter and the cinnamon and sugar mixture. Serve and enjoy!

Who can't say no to a good pizza. If you live by Citrus Park in Tampa, check out Sam's. Sam's does except restaurant.com certificates in which we used. My family and I tried their cheese pizza, calzone, and cheesesteak. All three were excellent. The pizza had the traditional New York style crust which was full of flavor. The calzone was loaded with mozzarella cheese and it was also large. The cheesesteak was well seasoned served on a crisp roll. I would definitely go back again. For more information visit Sam's. Cooking is all about getting creative and having fun. I got the idea for making an over sized burger from a colleague of mine, Joseph Castiglioni. I added a small block of Velveeta cheese in the middle of the patty. It turned out really well, and the kids loved it. Next time you are in the kitchen, just go nuts!
