A couple quick trips to Rite Aid at the end of this week. I had an absurb amount of +UP rewards--over $100 worth! That's way too many for me to try and roll each week. So I cashed some in by buying rebate items, and checked out the prices on Physician's Formula rebate items. Didn't buy any of those though, they weren't on sale :)

Today I plan getting some more cereal, coffee and pasta (if I can find any). We use a lot of each of those products so I'm very happy with this week's sales! I need to get my butt to the food bank too--we've got tons and tons of Hormel products to donate :)

New Physician's Formula Rebates

Keep an eye out for rebates on the following Physician's Formula products! Traditionally these Try Me Free rebates have been very small hot pink stickers. Also look out for tear pads or peelie stickers for $2, $3, $4 and $5 off each product.

My favorite way to make the most out of these is to wait for a buy one get one free sale and use two coupons (one for each item) and submit the rebate. I have never had Physician's Formula subtract the value of the coupon from the value of the product--particularly if you shop at a store that does not list coupons used directly under the product they attach to. Shop at stores instead that list all coupons at the bottom of the receipt :)

Extreme Couponing: 15 Minutes of Fame

Have you heard about the new couponing show? It's called Extreme Couponing and premiers tonight on TLC at 8pm (eastern time). I'm kind of excited to see it, but also concerned it will spark off a whole bunch of people who are either a) willing to do things the wrong way, aka misuse coupons, which hurts all of us, or b) get angry when they can't get 2,000 rolls of toilet paper for free on their first couponing trip out and end up fighting with the store.

This is one of the previews for the show:
"On his latest visit to the supermarket, Nathan is leaving with over 2,000 items – his most massive checkout to date. With 1,100 boxes of cereal, 300 toothbrushes and 60 bottles of hand soap, Nathan is looking forward to topping himself and saving thousands of dollars in the process!"

.....now then, how many of you can just waltz into a store and buy 1,100 boxes of cereal? At once? I don't feel this is an accurate portrayal of how to properly rock the coupon--it seems more like a 101 on how to get banned from a store, or at the very least how to have a throw down all out yelling match with a manager if you tried to emulate Nathan's deal. Which they would most definitely not. let. you. do. Of course you can preorder large quantities if you have a coupon-friendly store, and make sure to make your purchase during some obscure hour so as not to monopolize a register for 2h at peak time, but somehow I think the show will gloss over that point.

Let It Snow--Plus Rite Aid Hidden Deals

It has been snowing, snowing, snowing and I am stuck, stuck, stuck!

I haven't "reported back", but I've been at Rite Aid quite a bit this last week. It feels like the good ol' days of CVS......a few years ago, CVS had either very high limits or sometimes NO limits on extra buck items, and there was always an $ off $$ coupon floating around. These days, they're much more strict and the freebies are few and far between.

Part One: Why I (sometimes) Hate Blogging
The other day I posted that the Rite Aid near me had lots of Ecotools in stock. Last night I got an email from a reader in my area saying thanks for the the heads up, s/he went to that Rite Aid and bought all 30-something Ecotools items they had. Sigh. This is a little bit of a pity party for me because I didn't get any of them myself (boo-hoo!), and a little bit irritated because in general, I don't think it's good form for one couponer to completely wipe out a store of their stock. If they only have a few items left and you buy them, that's one thing; when you literally make the cashier check in the back because the 30+ on the shelf isn't enough for you, that's quite another. You can pre-order with the manager, if you know you're going to buy by the case!

I finally signed up for a Rite Aid Wellness card tonight. I needed envelopes anyway--they are on sale this week, buy one get one free. Using my new card I paid $2.23 for two boxes and got back two +UP rewards! $0.23 for two boxes makes me happy.

I scoped out the Ecotools bath care items as well, but didn't remember which items worked, what the limits were, etc etc so I passed on them. The store had tons so I will go back tomorrow :)

RenPure Rebates: Send Multiple Per Household!

Part of my coming back into the world of couponing meant getting my bum out of bed nice and early for Black Friday shopping! At CVS, RenPure hair care was free after extra bucks (FAE). I came home with 6 bottles, all complete with little Try Me Free hangtags. These tags do not have the normal "one per household" wording on them. The following is a response from customer service, in regards to sending in more than one rebate per address/person:

Hello XXXX,
You may buy as many products as you like. You must submit a rebate card for each product along with the ORIGINAL receipts. You may put them all into one envelope too. Make sure that you fill out each rebate card. P.O. Boxes are not qualified for this rebate so you must submit an address for us so we can send them to you. The rebates will take up to 10-12 weeks to be delivered.

Mail In Rebates: I send in every mail in rebate I can get my hands on. Almost all of the items are bought using coupons to make them very cheap or free, and many of them are purchased using Extra Bucks at CVS (so NO real cash is spent). Some rabates are only for a dollar or two, some are for much more. Every rebate I get is deposited to a savings account dedicated to rebates. I also keep any yard sale earnings (first sale and second sale) in this account. Recently we were able to remodel our guest bathroom and have our hardwood floors refinished using only the money from this account. (!!!). This year I had to get a new car; my rebate submission goal for each month is to sent in enough rebates to equal or exceed my car payment.

Survey Earning: Survey sites are a great way to make a little extra money. There are tons and tons out there, and I definitely have my favorites!

I get Express and Border's gift cards from e-rewards; membership is by invitation only. I got an offer to join from Express after signing up for e-mail alerts.
Anyone can join MySurvey.....I like this site because they pay in cash and you have the opportunity to try lots of full sized products. Who doesn't love free products??
Mypoints is another good one. You earn points by playing games, reading emails, completing surveys, and shopping. They recently added a coupon printer to their site as well, and you earn points for every coupon redeemed that was printed through Mypoints. Points can be exchanged for merchandise or store gift cards, and there are many stores to choose from.

ING Direct: I have had accounts with ING Direct since 2002. I have both a high interest checking and a high interest savings account, and I really love them. Not only does the earned interest add up quickly, but the customer service is phenomenal. I haven't had to call them often but when I have they are nothing but outstanding. If you would like a referral, please drop me an email; new members who sign up through a referral link get a $25 bonus.

Mr Rebates: Oh how I love Mr Rebates! Mr Rebates is a shopping portal that offers cash back on purchases online purchases. I do a lot of online shopping and I always use this site; I even bought a new sink and toilet using Mr Rebates....15% cash back on that toilet, thank you very much! I signed up in the first place because membership is free, and there is a cash bonus for joining. How it works....Each purchase you make at a Mr. Rebates' store will earn you up to 30% cash-back (and sometimes more) on every dollar you spend. Combine online coupons plus a cash-back rebate and you save big money with Mr. Rebates. Once you've earned enough rebates, you can simply cash out and you will receive a check or Paypal payment. Upromise: Every time you make an eligible purchase, Upromise partners return a portion of that money back to you. Those earnings accumulate in your Upromise account until you decide to use it to invest in a 529 plan, help pay down eligible student loans or assist with college expenses—all tax-free! You can register grocery and drug store loyalty cards as well as credit and debit cards to your account. There are extra earning opportunities if you review a Upromise partner restaurant, shop through Upromise (just like Mr Rebates; I use whichever one offers the higher cash back amount), use Upromise e-coupons, or even get a Upromise credit card. You can sign up here if you're interested.

Hits4Pay: You get a $10 bonus for joining, then get emails daily which you are paid to read. I get generally about 15 emails per day, although some days there's only one or two. Once your account reaches $25 they mail you a check or make a deposit to your PayPal account (whichever option you chose). Overall I like it; it only takes a couple minutes a day to get through the emails and it's a very passive, simple way to earn a little bit of cash. Even if it's only $0.50 a day, that added up pretty quickly to the $25 cash out point....very little effort and that's a free tank of gas! You can sign up here if you're interested.

Swagbucks: Swagbucks is another one I love! All you have to do is use swagbucks as your search engine (it's powered by Google and Ask.com) and you'll randomly win "swagbucks" for performing searches. There are also swagbucks contests you can enter, as well as special swagbucks codes that pop up on an almost daily basis. Swagbucks can be redeemed for cash (through PayPal), merchandise, or my personal favorite, Amazon.com gift cards! :) Those gift cards are going to come in super handy for holiday shopping! I try and help my readers out by pointing them towards any swagbucks codes I find. Like everything else, there is a signup bonus and membership is of course free. Site Affiliates: This refers to Google Adsense and Coupons.com sidebar. I get paid a few cents (literally) every time someone clicks on an ad or prints coupons using the sidebar. Well hi there :)

I live in one of those BPR rebate states--that's "beer purchase required"--so while on my shopping trip I stopped and got some. Good timing, we're going to a cookout this weekend, and cookout hosts always seem to be happy when you show up with beer! This qualifies me for the Smirnoff $20 grocery rebate (when you buy $20.01+ worth of groceries and an 8 or 12 pack of participating beers). My grocery receipt is a leftover one from cooking Mother's Day brunch; there were several items on there that I didn't have coupons for (like a side of salmon) that brought my final cost over $20. I don't know how beer rebates are regarding coupons--do they want $20 worth of products, or $20 paid for products? They're not at all the same, so safe is better in this case.

I.....FOUND....A $20 SURVEY PEELIE! I'm excited :) I went to Stop & Shop after work to use my freebie coupons from Kraft First Taste and they had about 30 Kraft 100 Calorie cheese snack packs on the rack; ONE of them had a peelie on the back! Woo-hoo! The bottom teeny rectangle of paper is the $20 survey. It was in the middle of the package on the back, up towards the top. Small and easy to miss if you're not looking for it.

It's especially nice that I was able to get the Ritz Crackerfuls, Cheese Snacks and Homestyle Mac n' Cheese all for free using the First Taste coupons. It's free to sign up for Kraft First Taste; you really should join if you're not a member (and no, that is not a referral link).

Then off to Rite Aid in search of Physician's Formula Shimmer mascara, in two transactions:
