While you are reading this, I am on my way to London !

I think Rosie must feel that I will go on holidays ! She checks if I have taken everything I need for my roundtrip through the UK, together with my friend Ilona.

For 10 days she will have my bed all of her own, but she prefers that I am in there too !

Pookie as long as she has her breakfast doesn't care that much,

She spends her days with Kim on Mr. G's bed

The daily morning breakfast will be served by Mr. G.

Arthur has a new tic, instead of drinking the fresh water in the little white bowl, he prefers to drink out of the dirty once which are in the sink to be washed !

He certainly will be happy to terrorize Mr. G and meow loud until he gets what he wants !

I will be back end of May.

Mr. G. is still in Italy, but comes back on Wednesday. I didn't notice any changes concerning Kim because of his absence,

she goes out for a little while as usual, but then continues her now inside life on Mr. G's bed. I even think she is happy that she doesn't have to move when he wants to go in bed !

Pookie too, is nearly always there. The only thing maybe she misses is that nobody uses an electric razor because she loves to watch Mr. G. while he is shaving. She certainly would want me to replace him, but I refuse !

Each morning I watch the same ritual. Rosie waking up and sitting on my bed to keep Pookie away !

She won't let her on the bed and eventually would hiss ! Pookie takes it easy at least in this room and stays at distance, while Arthur doesn't care about the female's moods and disputes, he starts his day with eating Rosie's food.

During the week I saw Rosie checking thorougly the living room and I feared that she had lost a real mouse there and now was looking for it. But so far I haven't found any mouse corpse.

Instead I found 4 little mousies stitched on a Father Christmas carton somewhere hidden inside her cat tower. As Christmas is not the season, she wasn't very interested and still uses her old mousies to wash up in the food bowls.

As Mr. G. is away and Arthur on healthy cat food, he and Pookie are waiting in the kitchen each morning, to be served. He behaves quiet good, doesn't try to jump in my plate, while I eat, but stares at me with a starving look, so that from time to time I melt and give him some from my food but on an extra little plate.

He seems to be quiet happy and does massages of my lap while I watch TV. Fortunately my jeans are thick enough to protect me from his claws !

All in all it seems that they don't miss Mr. G., I shouldn't tell him, otherwise he will be disappointed. Ungrateful cats !

Arthur is in full spring energy ! While Dominique was working in her yard, he sneaked through the French doors into her house. When she came back, she found him sleeping on her bird's cage !!! The cage is very big and the birdie very small, so there was enough room for Arthur's nap. Apparently the birdie didn't bother and Arthur had lost his hunting instincts ! She only regretted not to have her camera ! It must have been a real funny view !

He jumped again onto my tray and tried to leak off the chicken sauce, despite the fact that the sauce was covered with my apple peels ! I tried to chase him away using a magazine, but he always jumped back and at the end he hissed at me and finally went away !

I don't know how it will be with me being alone, as Mr. G. has gone to Italy yesterday ! Thanks to his cat education allowing everything while complaining, I hope I don't have to fight with Arthur every day while I am eating !

But how could I be angry with this sweet cat who sleeps on my bed and was upset because I woke him up with the flash light ! As my punishment he barfed on my bed !

Rosie discovered the neighbor's house roof ! Arthur often climbs on there (I don't know how) and watches over the neighborhood, but Rosie had never done that ! Unfortunately I couldn't catch them sitting side by side, when my camera was finally ready I just got a shot of when she climbed down, while Arthur stayed on the roof for quiet a while.

I think she was surprised by her own audacity ! It's impossible to take a picture of her outside, because each time I show up with my camera she comes towards me !

Pookie has discovered a new friend, although this magzine holder stands there for ages, now she loves to rub her face on it !

She is also the only cat who loves to be photographed ! She purrs and makes pasta as you can see at her paws !

Now I will see how they behave, if they will miss Mr. G. and have me alone as a catsitter !

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSIE !

Rosie was born today and only a few days later I saw her for the first time together with her mum and siblings. I had always wanted a tuxi cat and had found her through an advertising. The young couple who had 2 female cats had the nice surprise to find themselves suddenly with 8 little kitten ! I fell in love with Rosie immediately !

6 weeks later I picked her up and this tiny little kitten which slept in my bread basket at the beginning, sang the whole way to our home with a loud voice ! I couldn't believe that such a little thing could make such a noise and that for 20 minutes ! Arthur immediately adopted her as his private baby and toy. Pookie was jealous and hissed (which hasn't changed) and Kim didn't even notice the new family member !

And this is Rosie today still a little cat, but with quiet some character and rather funny features !

She gathers her mousies during the night and drops them in the water bowl ! She runs and jumps around growling like a dog ! Whenever she sits under the table and you just pass by she would stretch out her paw and give you a slap ! Unfortunately she can also be quiet vicious ! You pet her and she purrs and suddenly she bites ! But hard ! She is also a cat who loves to lick ! Especially my nose, but also fingers, and hands. I think she is unique ! She is a real female, she is cuddly and sweet, behaves like an angel and suddenly turns into a terrible devil !

As I had been at the French Riviera and only came back on Sunday, according to cat sitter Mr. G. nothing special had happened during my absence.

Arthur was the first one to throw a glimpse at me while I climbed out of the car, and didn't even say a meow hello, but disappeared to the neighbors. He had better things to do.

From the others no trace at all ! What a welcome ! I started unpacking my suitcase and when I returned to my room

I found Sir Arthur sleeping on my curtains, which I had put on my bed to replace them with new once I had bought in France. If he wouldn't be a male he looked like a bride trying her wedding robe !

Sleeping made hungry and as usual when he saw that there was nothing interesting in on our plates, he went to kitchen and filled his always empty stomach.

But in the evening he joined me in my bed and slept peacefully there while I was reading.

Rosie only showed up after a while, sniffed at my hand, stated that it was me and allowed me to pet her a bit

and then curled up on several cushions to be sure not to hurt her delicate botty.

and while I was watching TV she fell asleep on the sofa behind my neck. She had kept Mr. G. busy, he had to dry 2 - 3 mousies per day she had washed in Pookie's water bowl.

Pookie and Kim hardly opened an eye to look at me when I greeted them, they were squatting Mr. G's bed so that he didn't have the opportunity to make it ! Good excuse !

Fortunately we have Arthur to keep us entertained !

For once I had baked a apple strudel cake because my friend Claudie from the French Rivera was on visit. I had covered it with aluminium foil ! While we were sitting in the living room Arthur started his work ! He took the foil off and started eating the apple cake ! Claudie only could admire the remaining pieces and a completely destroyed cake ! Arthur looked content and we were without cake !

He has also started to go outside again, and warms up his bones in the sunshine or visits our graveyard to pay his respect by using it as a litter box.

Rosie too, goes outside again. She checks the weather in the evening while I air the living room

and does her morning yoga and washing on the terrace !

Pookie hasn't changed a bit, she continues her life as inside cat, sleeps, talks a lot and snores very loud ! I always think there is an old man snoring loud with an open mouth, and have to increase the sound of the TV !

Despite the good weather Kim prefers to stay inside, together with all cats and produces knots ! As soon as I am coming back from France I have to take her to the groomer again !

and while you are reading this I am sitting on the plane taking me to the French Riveria for a week with Claudie. Meanwhile Mr. G. will spoil the cats and fatten them with treats !

I have never seen such a happy cat like Arthur ! After having napped most of the days (and nights) and behaved like an old human, he changed into a young man over the weekend when his big friend grandson Toby arrived !

It was warm and sunny and Arthur followed Toby everywhere ! Even when he played football (soccer) ! He ran around and raced through the garden like a horse ! They had discussions together and were big buddies ! He is really a special cat, loving a 2 1/2 old toddler !

But once Toby gone, and the dining table was free again (the other humans chased him away) he collapsed and did a long nap !

Rosie only came out when Toby was in bed and checked if it was worthwhile to go out, during the day she stayed in my room and slept on my bed !

Kim and Pookie did the same on Mr. G's bed and we didn't see Kim until the little guest and parents had disappeared !

Sometimes Arthur too needed a little rest but only a very little one, and Mr. G. had little space for his afternoon nap !

Now they are all back to their normal life and even Kim moved in again !

After some grey days and cold, finally the sun came out.

Each morning when I make my bed, Rosie checks the weather ! She sticks her little nose outside and decided that it is still too cold to go outside

She prefers to lay on the radiator (the heating is still on) and watches the birdies from inside.

You could think that it is always the same picture, but no, now Rosie puts 3 mousies in the water bowl instead of one or two ! I tell you the mousies are very clean !!

Arthur too prefers to watch outside life through the window. A part from that, he has jumped on my tray to eat chicken from my dish, with the result that the tray skipped over and I was full of rice, vegetables and chicken pieces ! Thanks to Mr. G's good education methods, I became a victim of Arthur ! Usually he never asks me for food ! I had to change my clothes, wash the sofa and clean the rice from the floor and you can imagine that I couldn't hold back my feelings and expressed them ladylike to Mr. G %&é#^* !

Kim too, despite the sunny weather still prefers to stay inside and is very angry when I dare to try to make Mr. G's bed !

Pookie as always behaves like the perfect ladycat, she eats, sleeps and purrs around our legs ! Her last sleeping place is the entrance, but if somebody rings the bell she runs away, not a very good watch cat !

We all continue to suffer from this long lasting winter ! No green sprout in sight, nothing to sniff at except naked twigs, and no mousies ! I mean the real once. Rosie still continues to put her toy mousies in the water and food bowls where I take them out each morning !

It's also too cold for their botties to go outside they like to keep them warm and fill in the two litter boxes in the garage which I of course have to clean ! They make me work although I would like to lead the same life as they do !

Rosie and Arthur want to show me that they are better table decorations as the flower bouquet and sleep or sit on the table. Officially this is not allowed, but I can't stay the whole day in the living room and watch that they don't sit on the table. Therefore I gave up !

Mr. G's bed is crowded and no space is left for him. The two enemies, Rosie and Pookie who usually hiss at each other and never want to sleep in the same room, share now the bed !

Arthur still has a cold nose and warms it up against the radiator. When he is not sleeping, his favorite occupation is teasing Mr. G in which he is very successful ! He is always behind, in front or on him which causes some loud outbreaks in our normally so silent house and makes me jump to the ceiling (or almost !)

and I have this encouraging view when I sit behind my computer ! No wonder that I feel tired too !

Kim sleeps besides the telephone and was upset that I dared to take a picture of her ! She doesn't go out either, which has never happened since she is with us !

and finally Rosie expresses what everybody thinks : WE WANT WARM WEATHER AND SPRING !

It is well known that a cat sleeps a lot, but even a cat has enough when he can't go out for his little walk. Especially Arthur !

He was so happy when the snow had gone and the sun was shining a little, so he sat on his favorite place on the wall in front of the house, watching and hoping for people to go by and admire him ! He also waits to tease dogs, but besides some cars nobody showed up. What a disappointment. Even the mailwoman didn't stop and he couldn't walk her along to the other mail boxes.

Rosie not so keen to go out in the cold, used the 5 or 10 min sunshine to take a sunbath on my bed and did some spring cleaning of her fur.

And then it happened again ! It had snowed the whole night and Arthur, very disappointed looked out on this white boring stuff. However he quickly went outside and did his business, watching that nobody looked at him !

Pookie doesn't bother so much about the weather, she anyway prefers to stay inside ! For the moment she mostly sleeps on the sofa in the living room and watches through the window the birdies outside. Besides magpies which reminds her Rosie there is not much to see.

Our living room looks more and more like a dormitory and Arthur's favorite place is in front of the radiator with his nose nearly in it !

Rosie the only one who loves sleeping in a basket, keeps me company when I am at my computer. Since a few weeks she has started to "talk" a lot, especially when she had been on a little tour. She then comes back and makes loud singing purrs like a little bird (I know that birds don't purr, but it sounds like that) and then I have to pet her before she chooses a place to sleep. Unfortunately during the night she does that too and wakes me up of course. I hope it won't last for long.

Kim, still inside cat takes the bad weather with philosophy and spend her days between Mr. G's bed and the living room, where she overlooks us all !

SHE IS SICK

I think without Arthur we would lead a rather boring life ! He keeps us entertained and busy all the time.
This week when I came home and unloaded the groceries in the garage, suddenly a white flash jumped out of a carton box and meowed loud greetings ! I almost dropped my bags I hadn't expected that !

As it had snowed again he was rather disappointed and was looking for some occupations. His favorite one and which gets worse and worse is stealing things ! Mostly food of course. I had prepared 3 slices of toast for my lunch and saw only two. Of course I accused Mr. G. but he pretended that he was innocent and that probably I had only toasted two, as I am so bad in calculations. So I ate my two and found the next day a piece of toast and lots of crumbs in the middle of the living room. Arthur had tried to eat it during the night ! But that was not all, I had prepared salmon with pasta turned around to get a spoon or something, and when I looked at my pot again, I just saw Arthur jumping down with a piece of salmon ! Of course I couldn't take it from him, then he gets very angry !

He is also worried about his health and was happy to find some grass in the snow to clean his stomach. Then he hurried inside and through up his stomach contents on an oriental rug ! After all, Arthur is a posh cat and knows what he deserves.

But how could I be angry with this cat when it lays like that on my lap while I watch TV ?

and insists to be on family pictures ??

Rosie too, was quiet upset about the snow, she looked after birdies, while I was making my bed. But there were none around, so she returned and played with her mousies which she continues to place in the water bowls.

Pookie had lost her collar so I bought her a new one in red I am not sure if she enjoyed it, because in the beginning she scratched to get rid of it, but then forgot. After all she has always worn a collar with our telephone number inside.

Kim has changed her lifestyle, she is now an inside cat and tries out all napping places even on my bed together with Arthur. That, she had never done !

Cats are always full of surprises !

The whole week Rosie and I had a secret fight about her mousies !

Her mouse bathing became worse and worse. Now it's not only during the night she puts a mouse in the water bowl, but she also does it during the day, each time I have taken it out ! I am overworked with picking out the mouse, put it on the radiator only to find another one (always green) again floating in the water. I wonder if I should take her to the psychiatrist maybe she suffers from a childhood trauma !

Besides sleeping around she watches TV with us and keeps a suspicious eye on Pookie who does the same.

Only Pookie prefers to watch us and not the TV, probably she thinks that watching for an upcoming old couple drama in life is far more interesting. Considering her peaceful attitude, the drama didn't happen.

Arthur keeps a ~~closed~~ eye on me while I am sitting behind my computer, or does his 24 h naps as the weather became cold again, when he is not asking for food of course.

Since she has no knots anymore Kim seems to be happy, even allows us to pet her a little and otherwise does her job as decoration.

THE NEW LAWN MOWER

The highlight of this week, was taking Kim to the groomer ! To catch her and put her in the carrier is real hard work, which leaves us red faced and breathless when finally she sits in the carrier.

She sang the whole way long like Celine Dion, only a little false. But once on the table she is happy ! She purrs and makes pasta with her paws and is very patient.

Isn't it unbelievable how much hair she produces in only 3 months ? I am convinced that she was a sheep in her former life.

Due to the bad weather, Rosie keeps herself busy with her mousies ! She carries them around and throws them in the air and runs behind. And she also still gives them a bath each night !

The last days I found the fat once swimming in the water. I also made a scientific discovery ... cat's are not color blind ! She only bathes her green mousies, never the red, yellow or black once ! Green must be her favorite color !

Arthur takes forces for the hopefully arriving spring ! He spends his days mostly sleeping on my bed,

or watches birdies through the window,

when he is not asking for food !

He is supposed to be a shorthaired cat, but still managed to produce two big knots on his back near his tail. We tried to cut them off, which was quiet a comedy. I wore garden gloves and hold him up and Mr. G. tried to cut the knots out of a struggling angry Arthur. Arthur is a good tempered cat but not when it comes to his fur ! There he shows his claws. Mr. G. managed to cut a bit, but it's not perfect and we have to repeat the whole procedure !
