This blouse has become such a versatile piece in my wardrobe – much more than I originally thought. I’ll admit that I have even worn it multiple times in one week. It’s definitely a great piece to dress up or down (like last seen here).

There is something I love about dressing up a plaid top with a statement necklace. It makes the plaid feel more feminine and slightly dressier. I love wearing necklaces in both long and short lengths with collared tops. What is your favorite type of way to jazz up a collared top?

Is there a certain print or pattern that you see in a store and are automatically drawn to? One of my weaknesses is polka dots. When I saw this blouse, I not only loved the poppy red color, but I loved how the blouse already came tied at the bottom. It was perfect since I sometimes tie the bottom of my shirts (last seen here, here, and here).

Because we have had another mild winter in Texas, I have only been able to wear this vest once since I bought it – which is disappointing because I have several outfit ideas lined up for this vest once the weather turns cold again. But I won’t complain – I prefer the warmer weather!

This vest is so soft, comfortable, and seems to be even more versatile than I realized. I’m plan to eventually wear it with a chambray top, a red blouse, or maybe even with a pop of hot pink.

Today marks the one year anniversary of this blog, and it’s hard to believe that we’ve come this far. I remember being slightly scared to tell family and friends that I had started a blog last year, and as I recently passed by one of the first locations where we took pictures, I remember being embarrassed of having my pictures taken in public. Although I sometimes still feel a little embarrassed, I have become more used to it and absolutely love having a place where I can share my outfits and pieces of daily life with you.

I will say that keeping a record of my outfits has come in handy for those days when I can’t think of anything to wear. I’ll simply pull up my website, scroll through the outfit archives, and choose one of those outfits to wear again!

Lately, I’ve been loving pyramid bracelets and can’t seem to get enough of them. My husband gave me a few for Christmas (picked out by himself!), and I wear them pretty often.

They are fun to mix and match together – and the best thing is that these are all $12 – $14!

I somewhat took a bolder move by combining polka dots, stripes, and sequins – along with a bright pink – but I was up for the challenge. I love navy and pink together, and it seemed like a colorful combination to bring out in the winter season. In my opinion, colors are not meant for spring and summer only. They can be worn year-round, but in season-appropriate color palettes. So bring out the colors with your wardrobe!

I somehow got the urge to buy these floral leggings, imagining that I could wear them with a black blazer, v-neck tee, and leather pumps. I can’t wait to try out that outfit. In the mean time, I’m also loving the floral print on other items, like ballet flats, a phone case (I have this one!), and if you’re really brave – jeans. Whether you want to start small or go all in, there’s something for everyone.

 My sister and I have similar tastes, and when we shop together we sometimes walk out of a store having bought the same thing. We’ve also been known to show up to a family event wearing almost the same thing – completely unplanned (take this past summer, for example).

So for one of our recent family events, we thought it would be fun to purposely plan to dress alike – and then show up separately and pretend it was unplanned. This is where the polka dot tee came into play, and where our self-taught acting skills were showcased as we made everyone believe that we each woke up that morning and dressed ourselves in a polka dot tee…with black leggings…and ballet flats…and a blazer.
