Homepage renovated

Renovation is going on. We have changed the home page and made it prettier (at least, I hope you perceive it so). We have finally added the number of total patterns/tutorials we have to offer. Astonishing, eh?

Next step is making a better search and a quicker visualisation of each page.

Update: please note that not each project is searchable as yet. Searcble crafts are quilting, sewing and clay in this moment. Have fun!

Database update started…

As from today, we have started an update to the database. It will last for a while but will keep you updated.

McCall and Butterick have both a new project to their short list of free patterns. Amy Butler Design has 2 new quilts.

As Christmas is over, Amy Butler site has removed the linkes to the Christmas free patterns, however, the pdf files are still there: they have not been removed from our database.

This is one of the many reasons for which websites like ours are useful!

Lion Brand Yarn

Yarn again. And again a giant in the industry: Lion Brand. They too have patterns and many of them are totally free.

Unlike most of their competitors, they have managed to set up an unusually detailed and well-thought pattern search form. You are supposed to register or be logged in to see the pattern’s instructions or you can replace the domain name from www.lionbrand.com to joann.lionbrand.com when you have the full address (URL) to the patterns.

Also, mycraftwizard has proudly linked their large amount of free projects in their database. They are more than 2 thousend and have made necessary a pagination of the search results.

Letâ€™s speak about yarns, today.

Hobby-wise, dealing with threads and worsted wool is speaking about knitting, crocheting, weaving, yarn-crafting and others.

Berocco, â€œfine hand-knitting yarnsâ€ is a known yarns supplier for USA and Canada craftspeople; no luck in other countries, instead.

The reason I have dedicated them a post is that they have a large archive of free patterns for knitting and crocheting on their website. If I want to say it all, itâ€™s not so much well displayed and the search is a bit quirky but he, we are here for those situations too; thatâ€™s why we have promptly captured all of them in our own free projects database.

To be honest, the capturing or â€œgrabbingâ€ phase (Iâ€™m going to write a techie post about this activity, soon) has not been easy but he, we already knew it would have not been all hunky-dory! J

After all, in about three weeks – we have collected about 700 craft projects: we really cannot complain.

Another well known name in the fashion industry. At least, a giant in anglophone countries as far as I know.

She has her website of course and a page dedicated to free patterns. Whow!

Simple projects for beginner and for the lovers of her extremely flowery and feminine fabric patterns.

Sadly, she is not in Wikipedia.

Instead, her projects will be visible in our database in a couple ofÂ hours, hopefully.
