Angry Birds Kindle Cover

My boys got a Kindle with their Christmas money. Of course it needed a cover! But, heck no I’m not buying one when I have a drawer full of felt!

The boys love Angry Birds…so I made them this…

Here is the back, I made a little flap with a button to hold it closed.

Here it is with the Kindle going inside…

It was pretty easy, I did it all by hand with felt and embroidery thread. Just grabbed the Kindle laid it on the felt and kinda went for it. I of course had to have a pic of the red bird in front of me to make sure I got it right.

The boys love it. Now I need to make a cover for my kindle! Mine will not be Angy Birds..I was thinking of making mine with this quilt block I made years ago, I have a bunch of quilt blocks that never got made into a quilt…lol…might as well use them for something! That is the next project…oh and my friend Jen wants one for her Kindle and Michelle’s son Ricky wants one for his…LOL! The list keep growing, so I’m I will have more to share!

It goes with Travis’ Angry Birds hat..which I did not make! LOL! Some day I will learn how to knit or crochet or whatever it takes to make hats like these! lol.

Week 2 of 2012!

I put a little quote of the week on my LO this week, on that little purple tab. It was so cute My son Travis, he is 4, says, “Did you know Ice is made out of snow.” My daughter kayla say, “Oh it is, well then what is snow made out of?” Travis says, “Hmmm…Glitter.” How cute is that!

My Planner for 2012

Yes, it’s the beginning of a new year. Time to get organized right! Well, I am a planner girl. I know, a lot of you have foregone the paper planners and only use your smart phone calendars. I do have a smart phone..but I just need my planner! It goes with me everywhere. it’s in my purse. I write everything in it. It’s actually kind of fun to go back through my old planners and see what I had written..almost like a journal of my daily life!

So, of course it’s 2012. My old planner is tattered and full. Time for a fresh start! Yea! Fun! I know I could go and buy myself a planner, but it is much more fun to make your own! It’s so way cuter!

So here we go…time to share my 2012 planner!

Here is the planner in process.

Yes, that is my sewing machine. I wanted pocket pages, so I decided to sew them! That should be sturdy don’t cha think!

Here are the inside pages. I created templates for these planner pages you can find them in my shop at GingerScraps. The templates are totally customizable.

Just use any digi papers that you like, drag them into the layers in the template and print the pages back to back. You just have to do a few test prints to see how the pages come out of your printer. Once you get it all tested they printing a a breeze.

So, I was super excited to use my new Zutter Bind it All for my planner this year! I got it on sale too! With my Ben Franklin gift card Whoowhhoo! I am totally loving this new tool! It punches all the little holes for you and binds it all together with the wires. A few test punches with this and I was good to go. You could also use a small 3 ring binder, like I did last year.

Here is the cover. It’s my favorite part

I love pink and black! So, the zebra paper and the little rhinestone camera I also got at Ben Franklin. The rest of the papers and elements are digital and are in the kit Colors of My Life which you can find at GingerScraps. It is a buffet kit, so it is huge and a collaboration of a bunch of the GingerScraps designers. I’m using the same kit for my 365 project this year.

The cover is a piece of chipboard with the zebra paper on both sides. Then the cute little hybrid bit glued on the front. It is all Mod Podged to keep it sealed and protected. This little book has to be able to take my abuse for the whole year! And it turned out so cute, I won’t get bored of looking at it!

Now, I am totally ready to take on another busy, fun filled year of lots and lots of thing to do!

Of course now that everyone is getting the new timeline we all want to jazz up that “cover picture”

So, I made a little template that you can use to do just that! Just use this like you would any other digi scrapping template. Drag your photos and papers into the layers. Fresh Baked Friday! Time to get ready for 2012 Project 365!!

So, you all know that I love the 365 project. I have been doing this for so many years now that it is part of my life. Right now as I type we are in the last 2 weeks of 2011! I have two more LOs to go! These books are such a treasure. I can just picture my Grandchildren (someday very far in the future) looking at these books and at our daily lives years ago. Just like my kids look at the books today!

But, I know life gets so busy and sometimes it is so hard to get these photos scrapped! So, I came up with some new templates for 2012!

I have been doing the 365 Project for 3 years now! I love it!
It is a wonderful way to preserve those special and everyday moments all through the year!
This year I want simplify my pages, keep to focus on the photos and the journaling.

Bake Sale!

Ok…so, I meant to blog about the Bake Sale this morning, but I got distracted…I was designing some new goodies, editing a photo shoot and making some Domino and scrabble pendants…cleaning…vacuuming..etc..etc..

So, real quick let me tell ya. GingerScraps is having their monthly Bake Sale And Buffet! I have some new goodies I created for the GingerScraps “Who-Village Buffet” It is the most fun and cute Christmas kit! All the designers at GS made mini kits and other goodies and they all go together perfectly! For my part I made some Hybrid Card Template and Word Art. Let me share them with you!

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Ours was so nice. Very relaxing and Oh such yummy food! Leftovers today! Yea!! I know a lot of you are out shopping in the madness on this Black Friday! Photography Love, Week 45 and a Cool New Freebie for Photo Junkies!

So, you all know that I am a football mom..yes, every year for about 3 months my blog and digi designing get a little neglected as my life is taken over with football. But, what you might not know is that it’s not only football that keeps me busy..It’s photography! Of course I love it and I am lucky to have jobs like digi design and photography that I love and am passionate about. I wanted to share you with some of the photo sessions that have been keeping me busy the last couple of months. I hope they inspire you

She’s a softball star…

And my beautiful Family, Brother in Law, Sister in law and their teenagers. These were taken the day they took my nephew Austen to the airport for him to leave for boot camp!

Of course, in between all of these were photos at Friday night games, Saturday morning games and many photos at practice during the week!

This is one of my faves I took during October, when our boys went pink.

Just thought I would share some of my passion with you all. Life is short. Capture the memories!

Recycled Book “Family” Banner!

Happy Thursday!! Today I actually have a cute little project to show you! I made this a while ago too and it is super easy but super cute, And multi-purpose too! And it didn’t cost me a cent, because I already had everything I needed laying around the house!

I love how it looks on my family photo wall!

But, not only that…it is so super cute when you take it off the wall and use it as a prop in your family portraits!

(I love it for my family and holiday photo sessions, like in this photo I took of the Zall Children)

I’m totally going to make some more with different sayings! They are so easy..

So, first step, find an old book, cut triangles out of the pages, you can do more than one page at once too!

Print out some letters in a cute font from you computer. I used PSE to resize my letters to the right size, but you can also use word or any other program you have.

Print…Cut…Glue to the triangles. Told you…Easy!

Now, take some string or ribbon, what ever you have. I like to tape the pieces to the string to really hold them on there.

Then add some mini clothespins! Done! Yea!! So cute!

Week 44 and Freebie Time!

Now I am totally caught up! yea me! Friday night was the last JV football game. The boys ended the season with an 8 in 2 record. pretty darn good! I’m so proud of them. Now I just have to plan the team party and the JV season is over! Crazy! Here we come Varsity!
