On the dot of 15th May 2012, gamer-fans in South Africa and other countries can buy Diablo III from local stores (except Russia which is due on 7 June). The Collector's Edition has already been sold out in almost every store as it was a very limited supply, around 40 in each store.

The Diablo III Standard Edition is still widespread across gaming retailers in South Africa like at Zaps in Brightwater Commons and at BT Games branches in many malls across South Africa.

I managed to digitally purchase a copy of the Diablo III Standard Edition with ease, by using ZapsOnline (formerly Zaps Gaming), and I will be headed to the Brightwater Commons Zaps store to fetch my Diablo III Standard Edition. Zaps also held a Diablo III release party last night and I'm sure most who knew about it, attended a fun-filled launch party to the theme of Diablo and the town of Tristam.

Dont forget you can also purchase your copy online directly from Blizzard using your Battle.net account.

This just in... if you missed a copy of the Collector's Edition in your favorite store, BT Games have a few remaining at their branches listed here.

A few friends online have said that the Diablo III servers are 'down' so it gives me and you some time to scurry down to the store to catch up to those who already have D3 installed and ready to play. The servers will be back on in less than 2 hours when I will begin purging the evil.

The legendary MOBA game League of Legends has servers in North America and EU West but what most players don't know is that the LoLPBE (Public Beta Environment) server is the beta where gamers can test out new features and champions like Varus, the arrow of retribution, before it reaches the official game servers.

Don't worry about working too hard because you will receive 4000 RP (Riot Points), 10000 IP (Influence Points) free and also reach level 30 automatically when you do your first take-down.

There is currently a scramble for who gets to play as Varus first, so be quick about it.

If you've played Diablo II (and the expansion) and tried Sacred 1 and Sacred 2, you may have also tried Torchlight whilst Diablo III took shape.

For those who haven't played Torchlight, it is set in a mining town called Torchlight and your duties are to quest through the levels of mines and dungeons, slaying monsters and beasts whilst finding treasures, better equipment and weapons to dual-wield your way through more difficult quests and save the world.

Torchlight II is set not just in the town of Torchlight but has more areas to explore and also more characters classes to choose from. The one element that lacked in the original Torchlight's enjoyable RPG system was a co-op version and now, Runic games have incorporated multiplayer into Torchlight II.

Torchlight II was unveiled by Runic Games at PAX earlier this month and is due for release in July 2012.

You can pre-purchase Torchlight II for $19.99 (around R150) through Steam or Perfect World Entertainment and you will get the original Torchlight game (currently selling for $14.95) for free. If you already own the original game, you can send the free copy to a friend on Steam.

I am keen on purchasing Torchlight II as I've played the original and I'm sure I will enjoy the sequel in co-op mode.

The rumors about Google Drive are true. Google Drive gives users free cloud storage to create documents and store media and then share and collaborate with others. 

Here are some of the features that you can look forward to:

5 GB Free Storage

That's a lot of storage for your personal media and more than enough for simple documents so I will use it just because I have a Google account and I have family and friends who have Google accounts and can gain access to some of my stored media and documents.

Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

Google Drive can recognize text in scanned documents and images using OCR or Optical Character Recognition technology. Whether its an old study guide that you're not keen on re-typing or an old newspaper clipping, you will be able to search for a word from the text of the scanned article and copy+paste as you would with simple text.

Image Recognition Technology

Image recognition is in its early stage so as people begin to use the technology, it will get better and eventually it will be able to recognize images and faces.

Collaboration

Create and collaborate. Google Docs is built right into Google Drive, so you can work with others in real time on documents, spreadsheets and presentations. Once you choose to share content with others, you can add and reply to comments on your media and receive notifications when other people comment on your shared items.

Accessibility Anywhere

You can install Drive on your Mac or PC and can download the Drive app to your Android phone or tablet therefore Google Drive can come in handy at places like at work where you access your documents and on vacations where you'd want to upload your personal media. Google is also working tediously on a Drive app for iOS devices. Blind users also get access to Google Drive by using a screen reader.

I'm sure most of you have read some post pertaining to this title in the past but things have changed so drastically that the difference between the two are a bit blurred.

With the release of Google+,  changes to Facebook and creation of numerous social media and networking apps, its all become social media.

Be it blogging, gaming, or just sharing a link or your location... its social media.

It may not be the actual socializing with all of your contacts but it is the tendency to share more of what you feel interests you and your 'friends' or contacts.

Some elements, that were excluded in the past,  have been introduced into social media... namely 'gamification' and sentiments.

Gamification, although not a proper term, means that you are awarded for your activity on the app or site.  It is like achievements in the online gaming networks: Steam, XBOX Live and PSN. This method encourages user activity even more than the user would actually do if no reward existed for those actions.

Sentiments like 'Like', 'Digg', 'OMG!' are basically the most innovative rating system based on sentimental remarks. In this case, the more of a certain sentiment, the more popularity the content has. It is very similar to the concept of "any publicity is good publicity", where even the most vile content can rank the best.

After all is shared and done, it is up to the rest of the 'online society' to partake in what you started and vice-versa.
