I was so depressed when my husband told me we would be moving to Ann Arbor. I’ve got nothing against Michigan, but I was very happy where we were. We had lived in Colorado for years, and I loved our house and had a great social network there. I thought we would be there for the rest of our lives, but his job had other plans for us. They offered him a great position, but it meant a big move for us. When I begrudgingly started planning our move, I used to cry every day. I couldn’t bear the idea of moving, and was having a hard time. Something as simple as searching for Ann Arbor Direct TV would bring on the waterworks. My husband began to worry about me, but after getting used to the idea of moving I got better. I stopped crying all the time and got myself together. I’ve been looking for an application where I can organize all my bookmark pages into one location since I have lots of bookmarks on my work computer and also lots here on my home laptop. There are often times when I want to look at the ones from work when I am at home and sometimes I forgot to send it to my email even though I am virtually connected to my work PC, but sometimes I forget and turn off my work computer so I need to search it again online when at home and can’t find it again which makes me frustrated. Another problem for this is if my home laptop or my office computer will give up and fail to save all those bookmarks.

That time of year is rolling around and I can’t wait until my mom spends the night on Thanksgiving and we get up really early to get black friday deals. It has been a tradition of ours to spend the night at each other’s houses on Thanksgiving. We get up really early and have breakfast at the Waffle House. After breakfast, we start the shopping. We are usually at the mall, waiting outside the doors at five o’clock in the morning. We haven’t missed a year since we started our Black Friday tradition ten years ago when I moved back in town. We shop until lunch time and eat lunch at our favorite Chinese place across the street. Our car is usually packed to the brim with Christmas gifts. After our lunch break, we are back at it, shopping until everyone on our list is marked off. We have so much fun. It is a really special tradition. One day when I have a daughter, I hope that she will enjoy doing this with us as much as I like it.

I have never understood the difference between regular cable and satellite TV. I went on expertsatellite.com to try and figure it out. I am kind of a TV junkie and the hunderds of channels I could get with satellite TV excited me! I basically grew up watching TV. I ended up watching so many totally kid-inappropriate movies like Pretty Woman. I watched that movie when I was in like third grade. Of course I didn't totally understand what the movie was about, but I definitely knew she was a pretty girl and she was getting a lot of attention for it. I remember playing 'pretty woman' in my room as a little girl. I didn't know she was a prostitute and I didn't know what sex was, but I would put on my mom's knee high boots and walk around acting like Julia Roberts!

I heard good things about Direct TV from lot of my friends and co-workers so I thought I'd check it out. One of my favorite shows is True Blood. Layfayette has to be one of the best characters on there. He is really, really good. And there's no one else like him on tv. I thought about being Sookie (not Snookie) for Halloween this year, but not sure what I do with the hair situation (I have dark brown hair). And wearing a wig seems to require more effort than I typically put in for any kind of holidays or festivities. Between taking the kids to and from basketball practice, cooking dinner, and cleaning the house I hardly have any quality time with my husband. Lately, I feel like time just moves so fast and we both have so much going on that its hard to find some time alone. Recently, he came up with the idea of planning a get away for just the two of us and I’m really excited about the mere thought of not having to cook dinner for a couple nights in a row. My mother has volunteered to watch the kids while were gone but one concern my husband and I both have is whether they will be safe with their grandma.
