I am having some printer issues (umm lol I need ink! rofl!) so I am going to share my Title Page and Week 1 Pages in Digital Format. I will not do much after printing except adding some minor embellishments.

• TITLE PAGE

I want to add a K to the library card…add some dimensional glaze to the hearts and I think I would be done. The ‘California’ map was inspired by this post found on Pinterest.

• OFFICIAL WEEK 1 PAGE

We made a spur of the moment decision to just pack our bags and head on over to Vegas. We had such a blast. The Blank pockets are for memorabilia I collected on the trip. And I added a google map to show where we were. I just saved the map as PDF and ‘clipped’ to a mask.

I have a brand new collection coming out this week and these pages were made exclusively with it. So I hope you enjoyed this break down of my Project life Pages (hoping to get some ink soon then I can share the printed pages…it just feels so much more finished when it is finally in the album) and the sneak peek of the fabulous new collection coming on Thursday.

I was so excited about the Actions Wendyzine created and oh boy are they awesome! I had my page done in under 2 hours (yes that includes printing and cutting).

What I love about it…

• It is fast
• I don’t need to over think the process
• I can use any kit in my stash
• Wendy included a handy ‘recipe’ for creating your pages
• Everything is automated (did I mention it saves and resizes for web too?) lol, gotta love that!

What I don’t love…

• The cards are a bit smaller than the actual journaling cards and that does make the page look a bit odd with the backs of the other journaling cards sticking out. There should be a solution for this…if you have any ideas or suggestions I would love to hear them.
• I love to use Smart Objects and this is not so much a I don’t love it but I would have liked the different layers to have been smart objects so I could go back and make changes if I need to.

That said it was so easy as making a new 8.5×11 canvas in photoshop and dragging all the different layers on it to print out and make this spread.

• HYBRID

and I got a bit over ambitious with the next weeks pages…uhhm yes I totally over did it and did not adhere to the simple rules of Project Life…

Yes that is 6 pages for one week…uhm overdo much?

I also think this will be an ongoing organizational thing as I get a better feel for the space and what I really need.

I re-purposed the box that held my Becky Higgins Project Life Page Pockets (I am using design A) as a tray with my basic goodies I would need to make my pages. That way I can go big or just do a quick and easy spread depending on my available time and inspiration. it also makes it possible for me to really work anywhere in the house since the basic stuff is so easy to transport.

I am a sucker for Targets $1 section and I got these pretty felt baskets for a $1…I knew I wanted them I just did not know for what yet! lol. They are just perfect for the little stuff. The metal bins are also another favorite of mine and for $2.50 I always try and stock up on them. They are perfect for almost any organizational dilemma!

I downloaded and printed the awesome planners from Robyn Meierotto and think they will make life just so much easier. So excited to get started with this project. Hope you enjoyed this peek into my studio.

I knew I wanted a physical album that I can ‘see’ what I have achieved every week BUT I also wanted to incorporate digital elements and do some hybrid kind of goodies. I ordered the Clementine Core kit, Album and Page Inserts. I opted for one set/style page protectors to just make it easier for me…one less decision to make. I also got the Digital kit.

When I received my package well I was so excited I just HAD to test it out.

I added a 8.5×11 Page protector for Chrismari’s art…I love doing this. I am so overwhelmed with all the stuff she brings home and this will be just perfect to display and store it.

I did a mix of Digital/Hybrid and using the Core kit.

I printed out all the photos and some of the tags. I had one photo at 3×4 inches and added a label with a title to it. The dates was added with a ‘date stamp’ from the Smash line. We made some cinnamon rolls and I printed out the recipe and added it to one of the 4×6 inserts.

This was a very bare bones cliff note version…my Mom helped me remember what we did for the week. I have been using Oh life to document every day’s journaling…now just to remember to take photos!!! lol.

I printed out on of the 4×6 cards and added some stickers to it so when I folded it it made this cute effect.

So what I can take away from this…it took me way too long, I need something more simple. I am so excited about this NEW Action Set by Studio Wendy and this amazing post by Steph at the Daily Digi. This might just be the solution I need so will use it for this week and let you know if it worked.

‘Bliss’ is just the best Title/Description for this canvas.

For the background I used some sewing pattern papers and papers torn from phone books…love the tissue paper feel and it makes such a perfect background/Texture. It is a bit darker than my previous canvas but also more vibrant. I don’t know what it is about me and packaging? I just love those little tags/labels on the papers. lol. I wanted to create the feeling of her standing in the wind/breeze…dont know if I succeeded.

So yes I am late with my 2012 Christmas Kit but once again better late than never. I was very much inspired by the Bold and Clean Lines of Scandinavian Christmas designs. I tried my hand at this unique look and did my own spin on it.

I used a lot of goodies from this kit for my own December Daily Album…

So I am off to a rocky start, I had some printer issues but I am excited to share my first few pages.

• Album Cover

I used my Silhouette to cut out the 2 & 5. The cover is 6 x8.5in, I covered it in white muslin, gesso’d it and added the numbers. After multiple layers of gesso this is the effect I have. I also sprayed it with some glimmer mist. You cannot really appreciate it in this photo but it is very shiny.

It still needs something though….hmm will have to see what?

• Inside Cover & Title Page

Just a note…if ever you want to use your sewing machine on paper you printed on your computer, back it with cardstock first…my sewing machine does not love Epson Premium Matte paper as much as I do!

• Day 1

(Oops! Forgot to put a ribbon in the tag!!! lol)

Trimming the tree – I took some fun pictures using the Hipstamatic App for Iphones, arranged them in a grid. a Key part of the design for this album was the baseball card page protectors that I trimmed down to 4 pockets. I also cut a bunch of stars on cardstock using my Silhouette. I used Ali Edwards overlays and my plan is to use a full page photo fro each day.

• Day 2

For this page I used Nettio’s Holiday Album Template Foundation Pages, added a tag I printed using Ali Edwards’ holiday sentiments. I created a divider in photoshop (folded a 6 x 8.5 in printed paper in half length wise), stitched on the number tag and added a shiny star.

• Day 3

so there you have it…I could really have made this easier on myself but I do love the end result.

That is just the papers…I have not added one embellishment! So at least I have the base kind of ready. I will also be using Ali Edwards Date Overlays and Christmas Sentiments. December Daily here I come!
