I think of fairies all day long,
I see them dance, I hear their song.
I dream of fairies in the night,
I watch them vanish with morning light.
I long to be a fairy queen,
I'd have flowing hair and wings that gleam.

Fairies All Around Us

Put magic in the air
To help us with our daily lives
And let us know they care.

Fairies in the garden
Color the flowers bright
To make our days more happy
And sweeten up our nights.

Touch us though unseen

And hearts oh so serene.

The Neglected Fairy

Oh why do I sigh,
And moan, and cry
About how very much
Time goes by
When I don't pay attention
To my inner fay,
(I really don't want her
To fly away!)
So instead let me sit
And write some lines,
Hoping to get a poem
That really shines,
`Cause the fairy within me
Needs time for fun
Lest she get cranky
And come undone.
If I do a good job,
She'll soar to new heights
When I dust out the cobwebs
And turn on the lights;
Together we'll go
To a magical place
That will put a sweet grin
On her tiny face.
She will flutter her wings,
Sing some sparkling songs
In a place filled with magic,
Where she truly belongs!

The Moonlit Garden

The moonlit garden,
The twinkling stars,
The shimmering fairies,
The glowing fires,
Tell a sweet story,
Tell all who will listen,
Tell of the magic,
Tell while they glisten,
Of times long ago,
Of things here and now,
Of marvelous mysteries,
Of who, where, and how.
Come sit in the shadows,
Come open your eyes,
Come let your mind wander,
Come learn and grow wise.

Sorrow and Joy

A fairy sits alone and cries,
Tears streaming down from both her eyes.
Why is her heart so very sad?
What will make her soul turn glad?
Seeing the one she loves and misses,
Covering that one with all her kisses;
When she has her loved one near
And holds the one she loves so dear,
Her eyes will sparkle and her smile return
When the one for whom her heart did yearn
Shines on her like the sun above
And wraps her in the warmth of sweet fairy love.

It's really wrong
'Cause in my heart
There is a song;
It has a beat
That wants to give
Life to the words,
So, let them live!
Give them wings
And let them fly
Onto the paper
And into the eye
Of one who gathers
Them into her soul
To help make her happy,

When she doesn't write?
What's a fairy poet
When she shuns the white?
Won't hold a pencil
Or type a word?
When it's all so easy
It's so absurd

Ah To Be A Fairy

Ah, to be a fairy
Floating on air,
Flitting about
Without a care.

Ah, to be soaring
On gossamer wings,
Enjoying whatever
The sunny day brings.

Ah, to settle down
At the end of day,
Knowing tomorrow's magic
Will be full of play.

Fairies in a whirl,
They frolic and sway,
They swing and swirl.

Fairies on the wing,
They fly so high,
They zip and zing.

Fairies all around,
They laugh and sparkle,
They leap and bound.

Fairies love to dance,
They wear gossamer dresses,
They wear tiny pants.

Fairies love to hide,
They spread their magic,
They vanish with the tide.

The Evening News

I write a fairy poem
And sing a fairy tune
As the fairies dance and play
Underneath the moon.

The little fairy children
Scamper all around
Fluttering their tiny wings
They rise up off the ground.

From there they see the fairy king
On throne so crystal clear
Who waits for the arrival
Of the one he holds so dear.

The queen in her procession
In all her finery
Smiles and gives a friendly wave
To all who've come to see.

Then as she finally reaches
With a flutter and a sigh
And mounts the royal platform
The sparks and sparkles fly!

Watching all the merriment
Spirits rise and soar
Laughter fills our hearts until
All worries are no more.

Fairy folk from all about
Join the celebration
Of all that's wonderful about
A wild imagination.

And that is all the fairy news
This magic moonlit night
We all had fun, we all went home
With tales to tell and write.

Wild open meadows
The wind through the trees
Bright shiny bubbles
A warm summer breeze

Raindrops that spatter
Snowflakes that freeze
Dewdrops on flowers
As soft as you please

Soft clouds in blue skies
The whoosh of a sneeze
Colors of rainbows
The flying trapeze

All of the wonders
That everyday please
Fairy dust magic
Is seen in all these!

Hot Fairies on a Cold Night

A sky full of stars
On a frosty cold night
The heavens are twinkling
To the fairies' delight.

Around their wee fires
They sing and they dance
And both of the genders
Warm up with romance.

Indifferent to cold
Unaware of the snow
Away to their cozy beds
In couples they go.

And all through the night
Twinkling stars up above
Look down on the magic
Of hot fairy love.

Midnight Magic

As twinkling fairies light the night
And raindrops softly fall,
A froggy chorus fills the air;
I hear a lonely cricket call.

Sparkling fae and earthy sounds;
My aching heart finds peace.
Surrounded by such loveliness
All my inner struggles cease.

Stop and listen, rest your mind,
Hear the happy sounds;
There's fairy magic all around,
And sweetest life abounds.

Fairies in the Storm

A fierce storm is upon us,
We do not dare to fly;
Raindrops pelt down on the earth,
Lightning falls from the sky.

Huddled beneath a toadstool,
Shivering under a flower,
We try to pass the time away
Hour by tedious hour.

Will the sun come out at last
And darkness turn to day?
Will the black clouds dissipate,
Or ever blow away?

Here we sit with wings gone limp
From damp and heavy air,
Waiting for the storm to pass
And end our dark despair.

There's hope still for the fairies,
For those with tender hearts;
Deep within we know it:
The true light ne'er departs.

Fairy, fairy, so depressed,
Too weary to get up and dressed,
Staying there in bed all day
Will never get you better pay.

Fairy, fairy, you must try,
Even if you have to lie
And tell yourself things are okay
When they really just don't feel that way.

Fairy, fairy, in your heart
You know you have to play the part
Until the life is manifest
That makes you feel your very best.

So go ahead and make your day,
There really is no other way;
It's up to you, your very self,
To rise and wake your inner elf.

Make the magic...just believe
You still have tricks stashed up your sleeve;
Set a smile upon your face,
That will help you find the grace.

Believing is what makes it so,
As was said so long ago;
Take the stage, and do it now,
Play your part and take a bow.

Fairy, fairy, rise and shine!
The world is yours, don't sit and whine;
Find the glitter, seek the glow,
Let it fill you, head to toe.

Fairy, fairy, it is time,
To make your inner world sublime;
The outer world will fall in line,
Go plant your magic beanstalk vine!

Soft as Snow

Soft as snow the fairies came,
Flittered to and fro;
Light as gossamer they sang,
‘Twould make your heart to glow.
Sparkling hair and tiny wings
Twittered all around;
And their little tippie toes
Never touched the ground.
All around us every day
Their magic still abounds;
So hush the noise and listen to
Their lovely fairy sounds!

What is a fairy
When it isn't fair?
Does it become an unfairy?

Why does a fairy
Refuse to share?
Has it become uncarey?

Who tells the unfairy
What is not fair?
Is their a fairness fairy?

Does the unfair fairy
Even care?
Is it unawarey?

If the unfairy
Begins to care,
Is it then more fairy?

The Pondering Fairy

Alone a fairy sits
In the evening light,
Pondering the world
And the coming night.

What makes the stars,
And whence the sun;
Who invented laughter
And having fun?

Is the forest silent
When nobody's there;
Is there really a world
Where all can share?

Deep in thought
She nods her head,
Thinking it's time
To go to bed.

So off she goes
In pursuit of dreams,
Hoping for answers
Among the moonbeams.

The Midnight Fairy

The midnight fairy
Hovers between
The day to come
And the one that's been.

Balanced on the edge
Of future and past,
The present moment
Cannot last.

Like the fae
It's here and gone;
Another one comes
To carry on.

Yet the midnight
Will again appear,
And so will the fairy
We hold so dear.

A soft breeze blows
O'er the garden wall;
The flowers sway,
One and all.

Above them the fairies
Fly all around,
Leaving only their shadows
Upon the ground.

The Most Beautiful Fairy

The fairies had a contest
To find the one most fair,
The one whose awesome beauty
Had none that could compare.

They all got so excited,
Who would the winner be?
Would it be another fairy,
Or could it even be me?

There was lots of primping,
Curling and flowing hair,
Fancy wings and dresses,
All done up with such care.

When finally the time arrived,
The prize-awarding day,
They all agree who the winner was:
A brand new baby fae!

The Summer Fairies

Early in the day the fairies rise,
Wipe the sleep from their morning eyes;
Have a breakfast of sparkles and dew,
Then go out to the garden, their work to do.

As the sun rises high, their lunch they eat,
Then lie in the shade for a little sleep;
As the bees buzz around their sleepy heads,
Fallen flower petals are their soft little beds.

In the afternoon again they awake,
Put away their tool so they don't rust or break;
And now is the time to dance and play,
So, to the woods, without delay!

Here among the trees so green,
Where the air is cool, is the fairy queen;
Together they make a merry time,
With fairy dances and songs sublime.

And as the sun begins to set,
The fairies prepare for the sweetest time yet;
They build a warm and cosy fire
To cook their dinner on before they retire.

Around its warmth and lovely smell,
They sit in a circle, and tales they tell,
Of sparkles and magic and butterfly wings,
Of mystery and wonders, and all kinds of things!

When their bellies are full, and the fire dies down,
It's time to go home to a soft nightgown;
They bid goodnight to their queen so fair,
And home they go in the crisp night air.

In their beds all safe and warm
They dream sweet dreams until the dawn;
And again they wake to a summer's day,
To work and laugh and dance and play!
