My posts might get a little choppy in the next two weeks. I'm going to China to check out some family heritage stuff. This might confuse those of you who know that I'm not Asian. But my grandfather's family actually lived in China for like 8 generations. The communists kicked us out for being white-people in the 1920's.

So if my grandparents were Asian on their immigration papers, does that make me ethnic on an technicality? I'd like to think so.

I'm always caught off guard when a DJ group has three members. Maybe that's because it makes it harder for me to pick a favorite.

Anyway, new track out by The Glitch Mob. They're an American group made up of two White guys, and an Asian guy (he'd probably be my favorite, because I too am Asian-American)

Redial is from a sleeply little island located in Oceania. His style can be described as piano music put into a computer with sound effects on top.

Black Is Not a Colour is from Padua, Italy. Their bio says that they started out listening to metal around the age of 12, but then left it for house/electro in their teenage years.

I love electro, but I'd be pissed to find out that my child stopped listening to metal in order to pursue computer music.

That'd be like if you found pot seeds in your kids room. But then it turns out they're into gardening-- or something way less cool.

I found seaweed sheets in the back of my pantry, so I tried making sushi out of minute rice and canned tuna. Not my finest creation, but it's the first thing I've cooked by myself in weeks. I'm too proud not to eat it.

Toxic Avenger was actually the first electro artist I listened to (2007 maybe?). And Drivepilot is currently the last (30 seconds ago). Together they sandwich some of the best years in my music listening history.

I've been perpetually 21 for the last 4 years, and I just discovered a new game to play at the bars. It started with my friends meeting up with me and asking me if I had got them a drink. Jokingly, I grabbed two random drinks off of the next table and offered it to them. They didn't see the joke, and each downed their beverage right away. Amused by this, I decided to see how long I could get away with exchanging drinks. So I spent the end of the night picking up abandoned drinks and offering them to strangers.

I made tons of friends. But the best part was running into someone who had "lost" one of their drinks, and offering them another one that I had procured.

It was like a drinking-friend-pyramid-scheme.

WAEK is another strong producer from Lyon, France. This track was put together as part of a remix contest. The weird vocals were the first thing to catch me, but WAEK gives them a really solid foundation. Then in the second half he shifts gears, and really brings out the bass. Good stuff.

WhiteNoise is a producer from the Netherlands/ Germany. His style is described as a romp through pop culture. It touches on elements from mainstream pop, electro swing, and world music.

Drivepilot just released their new EP, Ruthless. They're from Portland, Oregon-- which also exports granola and lumberjacks. Halo was the highlight track for me.

edit: right after I posted this, my friend who's my height came over and borrowed a sweatshirt. While putting it on he stuck his hand into my ceiling fan. It's more serious than you'd think.

Nightrider is a duo from Boston Massachusetts. They both seem to enjoy music, and they probably don't enjoy going to the dentist. (this is the kind of stuff I have to post when all I have is a twitter account to write a bio off of)

Interesting phone call last night. My friend broke up with his girlfriend a month ago, but she refuses to leave him alone. During our conversation he jokingly said "maybe I should fake my own death", and the idea has sort of stuck.

I'm excited because this is kind of like 'lying meets professional theater'. But the best part will be when he runs into her a couple months from now, and her having to say "But ______, I thought you were dead?!?" That takes messy breakups to a whole new level.

I've been getting headaches lately, so for the past couple days I've carried around a little plastic bag of asprin. Last night a guy saw me taking them at a party, and asked if he could buy a couple. Not wanting to be rude, I let him have 3 pills for $20. Then I left before he realized that they weren't his kind of drugs.

I'm an entrepreneur.

Kauf is a fresh faced group from Los Angeles. Their style is laid back-- which I need because I'm hanging out with my Brazilians friends tonight. It's nice to tailor the calm that comes before the storm.

When I'm at work, I turn the 'safe search' off on google images. Then when porn comes up-- it's totally not my fault.

Slow day in the world of music.
So I'm digging up one of my favorite tracks from a year ago. 'She' is the DJ personality of Lain Trzaska from Sweden. The track was released on an album called 'Orion', which when taken as a whole-- tells the story of an anime style princess who is isolated on a space station.

Clues to how the story goes are on the She website. I'm in awe of the work that went into this.

I had my first eye exam today.
It would be funny if the magazines in the doctor's office catered to near-sighted people. Like the letters would be clear, but then all the pictures would be out of focus. Because that's the world I live in.

I think Kloé is the first female DJ I've had on here. She's from Lyon, France. And I'm having a hard time deciding if her sound is more feminine, or if that's just me reading into it because she's a girl.

I like the direction the song takes around 2:20.

I've been sort of MIA. I'm painting the inside of my apartment deep-sea blue, and the process is more involved than I thought. When I met my girlfriend, she had me paint her bedroom walls orange and lipstick pink. I remember it feeling like I was in the waiting room at Nickelodeon studios. But it made me dream super hard for the first couple months.
