Anyone else feeling this way today? It was a long and cold weekend up here in Michigan. I may have to resort to tanning booths to get some sort of UV rays on my skin. Long past are the days of summer and going to the beach to bake in the warmth of the sun. Ahead are days that are short and cold. So I got to thinking... what can I do that would make winter a little bit better? First thing I'm going to do is organize my favorite sexy lingerie. I'm going to decide what to keep and what might need retiring. Then I'm going to buy these pretty little hangers and fragrant pillows for my drawers to give my lingerie a little special treatment. Next, I'm going to give myself a little special treatment at the spa for the day. Pedicure + massage + glass or two of my favorite wine = good sensations. Then, I'm going to make sure I have time to go home and slip into my favorite piece of lingerie. I'm going to make sure my boyfriend knows I'm wearing it too. But it will be a little game of cat and mouse. He only gets the cheese with good behavior. Haha.

This past month I've heard a lot of questions about bridal lingerie. Today's lingerie plays a double role: functional and seductive.

It's during the Renaissance (around the 14th century) that women started wearing what we currently refer to as panties, and more generally, lingerie. But only at the end of the following century did the word underwear actually replace that of "body linen"; in turn, underwear is now considered "plain", the seductive moniker being "lingerie".

It was only a matter of time before lingerie entered the wardrobe as a clothing item in and of itself, therefore carrying its own social meaning. It asserted a more and more liberated behavior, a healthier relationship with one's body, a way to nonchalantly display what formerly very intimate. This was a new role for underwear.

As years went by, elegance was replaced with seduction, which has, in turn, been replaced with a sensuality that shows itself with no taboo whatsoever. Lingerie is a flagship product of the fashion industry, and as such it boasts a number of attributes desired by every woman: seduction, embellishment, imagination, pleasure, well-being and beauty.

Brrr it's getting cold...

So in the spirit of getting warm on cold autumn and winter nights - I thought I would put together a relevant post that will hopefully help heat things up. Sexy lingerie isn't the only thing that can warm up a cold night. There are quite a few other things my favorite store sells that can help heat things up...
