I love when you find something unexpected in an ordinary place. 

I took my cute little family to the park for some fun in the sun.  We played basketball, and football, and jumped out of the swings.  It was a magical kinda day.  Then to top it all off….I spotted this leaf.  It had a hand written message on it.  To my understanding it’s in French.  Je’ Taime’, means I love you.  I’m not sure what the rest of it says, but I am sure that it was the most beautiful thing I had seen that day.  It made me want to write little notes on all of the fallen leaves and scatter them about town.

I hope you all slow down a little this New Year and see the beauty that is all around you…and sometimes right under your feet.

The Pink Lady Gaga/Gem/Betty Johnson Hair.

And the Sassy ,Black, Bangs Hair…I don’t know what/why I make that face when I look into the mirror?  I’m gunna have to work on that.

This is me today.  I am now the proud owner of long fringe Bangs!  I love them!!  I needed something new for the New Year…I think these did the trick!!   Happy New Years Eve!!!! Here’s to a Promising 2011!!

I had a wonderful Christmas Holiday with the Fam.  I love them very much and they make me smile.  We continued our tradition of looking at Christmas lights in one neighborhood that goes all out.  The boys loved it this year!  The hubbs and I started visiting this house when we were dating and when boy #1 came along we just bundled him up and took him along for the ride.  Now that we have 2 boys it’s double the fun at this time of the year!!   On Christmas Eve we went out to Mt. Dora and visited with cousins that we don’t get to see as much as we should. Why is it so hard to stay in touch with Family? Does anybody else have that issue?  I guess that’s life, huh?  It was fun to get all the little ones together.  We ate chili and loads of homemade cookies. It was yummy!!  I am truly blessed to have such a loving Family.  Oh, and I got the Minnetonka Moccasins that have been showing up in my dreams!!  It was a  magical Christmas!  Now it’s time to pack it all up and get ready for a New Year! I’ve  really been enjoying the frigid temperatures here in Florida.   I am all about the boots and leg warmers and scarves and cute coats, but I am not too good at doing my new long hair in this cold weather.   During the summer, hair just goes up.  It’s so damn hot here, there isn’t much else you can do.  I was really looking forward to all the  “good hair days” I hear about during the winter.  Little did I know that frizz is at an all time high and dry ends lurk after every shampoo.  Do you have any of this frizzy, dry hair going on?  If so, then consider this my gift to you.  I have been scouring the internet for new ways to style my hair, and have found some really amazing ideas.

These two sisters over at mucho mucho bueno bueno have made a pretty useful list of hair how to’s for medium/long hair.  Seventeen to be exact.

Bonus: she’s a hair dresser so she really knows what she’s talking about.  I think I am going to try the” pin hair all to one side” tomorrow.  Let me know what your favorite style is?

I have also been eying these accessories for your hair. Feathers!!!  I love them. They will look good in your hair year round too.

There is a tutorial over at one of my favorite blogs, A Beautiful Mess,  that will show you exactly how to make your own.  Pretty neat, huh?

My last hair trick up my sleeve is the  Messy bun on top of head.  (Sounds dangerous but cute when done right)  I wore this just the other day and was very pleased with its “staying power”.  It was a blustery day and held up well.  I will say that in order to get your hair to lay right you HAVE to bend over all the way and finger comb hair down.  This one is probably my new favorite!
