Do you want to know a secret? My exhibition opens in six days and I don't have one finished piece yet. I am supposed to have four pieces in Sydney by tomorrow for the Once Upon exhibition and they're not finished yet either. I also have two big illustration jobs due by the end of next week. I'm trying to concentrate, enough to bend time and space. I think it's going to be a long night.

I had to share one more find before I go to bed. Artist Sophie Blackall has a blog called Missed Connections where she illustrates posts from missed connection sites. As she says "they are funny, sad, beautiful, hopeful, hopeless and poetic, with the lifespan of a butterfly"...

I got a lovely little surprise in the post this morning... The Frankie Photo Album. It's quite beautiful, I'm very happy to be included...
Only some work in progress for the moment, I still seem to be slightly fixated by this lady. For my upcoming show at Extended Play I'm going to be making four long scroll type pieces such as the one above (among other smaller pieces). She's quite tall for me... 60 cm high!
I have started printing very light images on to the drawing and then I'm working into them with watercolour and ink, it feels a bit like cheating but in a good way. Also gives it a nice collage feel, in addition to the drawing and papercutting.
I have two weeks to finish all the work and nothing complete yet. I still need an invite... and a show title... yikes.
