Before I get to the free music, House of Heroes just released their brand new music video for “God Save The Foolish Kings” today, featuring guest vocals by Stephanie Smith.  The video was directed by Nathan Corrona of Dustbrand Films, who are also responsible for Sanctus Real’s “Forgiven”, Seabird’s “Don’t You Know You’re Beautiful”, Flynn Adam’s “Dishes”, and Grits’ “Fly Away”, just to name a few.  You can watch “God Save The Foolish Kings” above, or if you prefer HD, check it out on YouTube here.

Pretty sweet, huh?  Well, I’ve got even more House of Heroes goodness for you:  The band is giving away their song “Independence Day for a Petty Thief” for free through FreeHoH.com, in return for one tweet.  In keeping with the band’s apparent theme for Suburba, it’s a rockin’ song about a young thief who breaks into homes on the 4th of July while everyone is out enjoying a fireworks display.  Good song.  Enjoy!

First things first, while blogging has taken a backseat to my “real life” lately, TFCMB isn’t going anywhere.  As much as I’d like to post daily (or more!), it’s just not possible for me.  Since I’m working with a limited amount of time, I can’t keep up with the sheer amount of free music that’s released every week, so rather then try, I’m going to be focusing on artists and songs that I enjoy.  It’ll mean fewer free songs I’m able to get the word out about, but hopefully, the music will be better to compensate.

One of the other things I’ve been able to do through TFCMB is help break new artists like Owl City, Paper Tongues, Beckah Shae, Tim Be Told, and Esterlyn, just to name a few.  I’m definitely going to be keeping an ear out for anyone with a new, fresh sound in the Christian music world, and if they’re good enough, I can promise you’ll hear about then here.

One last thing:  In case you’re wondering, the last page of the CCMSingles Free MP3 section is about half way done, and I’ve just got to finish checking some links and I can get that uploaded.  Hang in there!

I’d like to start this post by officially wishing Manafest a very happy __st!  No, I’m not going to tell you his age – you can find that out easily enough. 

However, I can tell you something even cooler about Manafest.  Despite it being traditional to receive gifts on one’s birthday, Manafest is giving away a free download of his music video for “No Plan B” for free through SendSpace.  He posted the link to both Twitter and Facebook, so it’s definitely legit, and to sweeten the deal, the download is extremely high quality.  I’m not a video expert, but I’d say it’s high definition or close to it.  To put it simply, it looks amazing.  Definitely worth picking up!

I can honestly say I never, ever, thought I’d be featuring a Justin Bieber song here on TFCMB.  Really, I didn’t.  But… That was before Red Umbrella followed in the footsteps of The Fold (who’s cover/parody of Miley Cyrus’ “Party In The USA” went viral, gaining the band no little notoriety online) by covering Justin’s smash hit “Baby”.
