Free music today from Cindy Morgan, who you may recognize as the songwriter behind songs like “How You Live (Turn Up The Music)” and “Wishes”, both of which were recorded by Point of Grace.

Anyway, you can download 5 of her songs, “Beautiful Bird”, “Fine”, “When It’s Love”, “Lion and the Lamb”, and “In These Rooms”, for free from NoiseTrade. All 5 are from her album Beautiful Bird.

To make the deal even sweeter, NoiseTrade recently update their website, making it possible to download free music by just providing your email address and zip code, rather then having to either email five friends or pay-what-you-want for the album. Personally, I’m excited about the new system, since it means I can download music and then, if I like it, recommend it, rather then recommending it and then downloading it. Anyway, check it out!

Don’t Blink

Free music today from Revive! The band is giving away their brand new single, “Blink”, for free through their website. It’s a good song, quite a bit slower then “Chorus of the Saints”, but still very solid. Incidentally, “Blink” is also the title track to the new album from Revive, due out June 22. Enjoy!

The Weekly Downloads: Mar. 2 ~ Mar. 8

First up this week, New Release Tuesday has not one but two cool new downloads, from Pocket Full of Rocks, and Satellites & Sirens. The songs are “Jesus Died My Soul To Save” and “Anchor”, respectively. “Jesus Died My Soul To Save” actually has a bit of a folk/country vibe, while “Anchor” is a pop/rock jam, but their both pretty good.

Next, iTickets has a free download of “Revolution”, from Bryon “Mr. Talkbox” Chambers. That’s the same Mr. Talkbox from TobyMac’s Portable Sounds, to give just one example of his work. “Revolution” is from Bryon’s new solo album, My Time.

Another new song available this week is Karima Kibble’s song “So Happy”, from GMC. In fact, the music video for “So Happy” has been doing quite well on the GMC charts, where’s currently residing at #5, beating Switchfoot by one.

Free music today from Francesca Battistelli! I’ve actually got two free songs for you today, “Beautiful, Beautiful”, and the acoustic, Dented Fender Sessions version of “Free To Be Me”.

While both songs are from Francesca’s My Paper Heart Deluxe Edition album, both songs are available from different websites – “Beautiful, Beautiful” from a Twitter widget, and “Free To Be Me” from AmazonMP3. Both songs are well worth getting if you have the opportunity. Enjoy!

Free Song from Tim Be Told

Free Music today from Tim Be Told! They’re a Christian soul/pop/rock band from Charlottesville, VA, and you can pick on their song “Analyze” for free from their MySpace page (or, if you’d rather, you can also pick up the same song from their website & Facebook page).

It’s actually quite a good song, soft indie piano rock, along the lines of The Fray, with maybe a little bit of FM Static’s slower songs thrown in for good measure. Regardless, it sounds good – I’d love to hear what the band would sound like with some professional production. Check it out!

I’ve got a free download from Jasmine, a teen-aged Christian pop artist who, incidentally, has had some impressive mainstream success as well (at time of writing, her song “Make A Movie” is #8 on Radio Disney’s Top 30).

I just found out (thank you Twitter!) that the title track from her debut album The Next Me is available for free through Walmart MP3. It’s not really my thing, but hey, that doesn’t mean you won’t like it. Besides, it’s free.

Here’s a story for you: “Once upon a time, there lived a blogger named Matt. Matt likes to keep up with the latest free music news, and Matt knows that iTunes always changes their weekly Discover Downloads on Tuesday. It just so happened that when Matt woke up this particular Tuesday morning, he opened iTunes to check to see what was available free this week, and lo and behold! It was Lifehouse’s music video for “Halfway Gone”! Now, Matt likes Lifehouse, and he likes getting cool stuff for free, so he was very happy. The end.”

The Weekly Downloads: Feb. 23 ~ Mar. 1

Kicking off this week’s batch of downloads, Starfield has their song “Rediscover You” featured on both New Release Tuesday and iTickets’ this week, it’s from the band’s latest The Saving One. I haven’t heard the song just yet, but based on what I know of the band, and the album art (which is great), I’d say this is one song to check out.

One of the more exciting downloads this week is from Stellar Kart – FreeCCM has got the title track from the band’s latest, Everything Is Different Now available for download this. Stellar Kart was the band that first got me into Christian rock (“Life is good, eternal life is better!”), so you can believe I was exciting about getting this free. Check it out!

Next up, VideoRocket has a free download of the trailer for the new movie The Imposter. It’s not exactly music, but since the film stars Kevin Max & Jeff Deyo, I think it’s fits here. I’ve yet to see the trailer, so you’ll have to investigate for yourself.

These Things Take Time

Free music today from Sanctus Real! The band is giving away the song “These Things Take Time” from their yet-to-be-released album Pieces Of A Real Heart, and that the band is asking for it is either a tweet to Twitter or a post to Facebook. (It’s just like the promotions TobyMac and Above the Golden State ran awhile back.)

It’s a great song, which isn’t a surprise, since I’ve yet to hear a Sanctus Real song I haven’t at least liked, if not loved. You can definitely tell that their sound is changed some from We Need Each Other, but it’s still Sanctus Real, and from what I’ve heard the album looks to be a good one. Check it out!
