Turns out, there’s a lot more new music coming out then I thought there was.  Even with just including signed artists and a few notable indies in the genres most often covered on TFCMB, I still spend way more time typing then I expected. 

Anyway, I want to know what you think.  Which CD are you most excited about?  Is it Skillet’s latest?  Or maybe it’s Family Force 5’s new Christmas album?  Or perhaps it’s David Crowder*Band’s Church Music?  I know I had a hard time choosing, but, I’d love to know your opinion.

The song is “Nightmare”, and it’s free from AbsolutePunk as part of their “Free Music Friday” series.  It’s also from their brand new CD Adventures in Eville, and it’s one of the best songs on there (in my opinion).  Good stuff.  Check it out!

If you’re like me, you really enjoyed the free song Owl City released a few weeks back.  It was called “Hot Air Balloon”, and pretty much definited catchy, ambient electronic music to me.  Which is why I’m so excited to bring you another free Owl City song, this time from his new full-length CD, Ocean Eyes.

It’s called “Fireflies”, and it’s available for free as iTunes Single of the Week.  Just like “Hot Air Balloon”, it’s extremely catchy, airy, and fun.  Actually, “Fireflies” sounds like stars & fireflies, if you can imagine it.  It’s good, and it’s free, which is an amazing combination if you ask me.    Check it out!

Just a week and half ago, Ansley posted a free EP from the group ROOTDOWN, a pop/rock/reggae band created in 2007 by Paul Wright (which he also leads). Well today, you can get their latest radio single, titled ‘Taking Over Me.’ It’s a great song, with just a good message. The song is about letting God’s love take over us and freeing us from the shackles of our broken lives and our sin. In Paul Wright’s own words: “This song is a reminder of how God’s love can transform us and turn the messes we make in life into masterpieces in His timing.” You can read the entire story behind the song and download it at their promotion website for the new single.

Free music today from the very talented Christian hip-hopper Mr. J Medeiros.  He’s got his song “Keep Pace” up as a free download on Last.fm, and I highly recommend it.  Lyrically & musically, it’s great.  Get it.  After all, it’s free.

I heard this from a very reliable source, and upon investigation, it’s legit.  Everday Sunday’s new CD, Best Night Of Our Lives, is only $5 for the month of July on Amazon MP3.  That’s 11 tracks for only $5, or 45 cents a song.  That’s a pretty amazing deal if you ask me, considering iTunes wants a whole 99 cents a song.

Plus, from what I’ve heard, the CD has got some great songs too, including “Best Night of Our Lives”, which was given away as a free download a few weeks ago, and “Under Your Thumb”, a great song I’m listening to on MySpace as I type.  Anyways, check it out!

For those of you who are familiar with former Tooth and Nail band Waking Ashland, We Shot The Moon was formed by and is fronted by their lead singer. Their are definitely a couple similarities, but the bands are different in style. They sound a little bit similar to Ruth at some points, but its not a very big comparison, unless you don’t listen to this genre much, which means you might think they sound alike (not that big of a deal if you do though).

I haven’t been able to listen much, but I do think that the song title “Upon Waking She Found Herself A Cougar” is pretty awesome. The song itself is pretty good too. From my one listen it definitely is one of the standout tracks (to me at least)

P.S. Fun Fact: The album cover was designed by a fan in a fan contest. Sort of like our logo. If you look at it it sort of makes sense. That is a pretty random album cover.
