Bindi the Boxer

Since her parents are still in Australia they already communicate with me through e-mail about the arrangement of Bindi’s stay with us.

At the very beginning of course it’s very difficult to her parents specially for her

Mum who cried the 1^st and 3^rdtime they drop and leave Bindi with us.

I think it’s very difficult to be away for someone who is part of the family and treated like a daughter with her parents.

Bindi is very nice character not only because she is high breed dog but really the very first Boxer we ever house sit. Shes very gentle and yet very playful and active dog.

She is very friendly and social with other dogs.

It’s always takes time to warm up to each of us as well as her to us.

She keeps coming back to the gate looking forward that her parents comes and pick her up.

It’s really how you parents established such connection and trust that you’re beloved pets trust you and they do not think that they just get dump somewhere and the feeling of being abandon should be avoided as this cause stress and depression to the pets.

I like how Bindi’s parents slowly teach her that it’s all temporary that she stays with us until their house are ready.

The idea actually of visiting her 1or 2x a week in the house works great to both party to Bindi so she does not feel depress and help her being acclimatize to the weather.

Also it works well to Bindi; s parents specially her Mum who cries occasionally when they left Bindi with us. I think her mum is more and sad than Bindi is away. I can understand it’s her baby.Guest what??? The son said Mum is really something when I went overseas for study. She did not even shed any tears for me. But for Bindi she cried a lot!! Lol!

Its always my duty to reassured dog owner / parents that were their pets are board with me. I guarantee that I will look after their pets like my own family.

After few weeks, Its Bindi’s time to visit to the vet for her shot for heart worms.

The morning after Bindi have all these swollen points pop up from her skin like small rounded thing, it’s a kind of swollen. We all wake up and Bindi have this skin popping. It’s like tiny bubbles float to her skin.

My gosh I was super worried to death what happened what did we do wrong?? Where did she get this allergy?

Same morning before I bring her to the vet I gather all my staff and ask them what did something different that you do , food , or maybe cleaning liquids , are the bed sheets or blanket was changed and cleaned well? Were ? it comes from?

What I always learn is if something happened to each pet specially my own pet. Is dropping everything you do that time and rush up to the vet. That’s what Iv ed learn from all my pets and the vets’ advice. I never wait and take chances.

I run Bindi with me at the vet before they open the clinic.

Since I am very worried I called his father and told me to meet me at the vet office. I know it was allergy but which kind, from where is she allergy from.

The vets give her steroid and other antibiotics the vet said it will out within few hours. The young vet said she will keep Bindi at her clinic for observation I was hesitant since its best that she is at home with that problem. In the house she has space wise and I can see her in every minute. I explained to her father don’t agree that they keep her there.

So he politely explain to the vet that Bindi occasionally have this allergy.

Few tips to those families who are relocating pets with them specially dogs.

Sometime with the weather and the new environment there’s always a reaction to their skin. The new shot as well creates new reaction to their system.

Since I am travelling that time I ask her father is possible that they can keep Bindi if she still has that allergy reaction from the shot.

As I am not confident that I have a sick pet in my house and I was not there. I feel comfortable that way.

Days passed by and Bindi allergy finally gone. I was reading a lot of allergy issues and we concluded that that was actually from the shot she gets from the vet.

The vet called the allergy hives, which you cant identify which one.

Their so many different types of hives. What Bindi was the reactions from the shot vaccine. After the skin allergy is gone I was so relief.

So far after that Bindi is doing well time flies and it’s nearly 2 months she is adjusted pretty well in the house. She plays a lot with us and always happy to tag around when I am doing my gardening. As always Syrel is the favorite. She always run so fast when she hears Syrel’s motto horning at the gate. They are best friend.

After 4-5 weeks it’s also the time that her mum are more comfortable living her Bindi with is and more happier when she leaves her at the gate with the reassurance that they family will come back as always to get her.

Today is Bindi’s last day with this stay. I am 100 % sure she will be in and out the house for the next few months years. Indeed were happy and proud to have part of Bindi’s life with us. She is indeed a beautiful dog with her beautiful loving parents who truly love her into pieces.

As I am writing this blog Bindi"s mum is coming to fetch her , while I'm busy cooking our lunch , and her mum slowly walk in so happy and pretty looking.

I sure having Bindi with them finally in the new house is something to celebrate to start a new week.

House sitting Japanese Cat Neo

Neo has been in the house 2x and normally he stays 10 – 14 days

Male older cat but strong and healthy one except that he has limping feet at his left side.

Other than he is gorgeous one.

What amaze me with all my Japanese customers they are very particular with the needs of their pets, from food to all the stuff what their pets consumed or used.

People who do not understand pets will never put up with such routine.

But think of it their pets really treated like human babies and don’t get me wrong we do the same with ours.

Each pet that checked in our house with our care are always special.

They get treated like children they are some of the pets that are very lucky in the pets’ world.

Look what Neo’s mum prepared for him a well organized yet super prepared paper ball that all I have to do is unroll the papers when I prepare his cat litter.
This is neo’s cat litter and he is very smart boy.
He knows that one container is for his peces and the other if for his lick.

Everything is well though and well prepared it’s easy for someone who will look after the cat.

Of course this is very good when you only have 1 or 2 cats in the house.

Everything is so organized and tidy. I have to always check Neo’s food should not exceed 20 gms.

His mum also prepared biscuits and little snack for him to chew in between during the day.

The biscuits as well have measurements how many spoons I have to drop at Neo’s bowl.

Since he is older cat hes diet has to me measured and to be followed.

I think this is the secret of having long life for the animals a lot of pets owner are following this routine.

As always a brush were I have to pamper him.

He got all crazy when I have to stroke him with this brush.

He gave in and stretched all his limbs just for me to brush even the underneath of his fur.

Think that cats in particular pets love stroking your hand with brush in their fur.

His mum normally bring he’s entire gear. It’s really like going for holiday!

I have few of these customers who really well prepared for their pets holiday.

When all are set Neo will then enjoyed his space of his own.

Snatch has been adopted

This is a follow up with my previous blog snatching the kittens out from that lady in Pagoda.

One of them survived as mentioned and I named him Snatch and his happy day came Saturday when young Sabina read my face book page that I have cats for adoption she called me Friday and said want to visit and see the cat. Very good enough Sabina and her family came Saturday morning very ahead of time as what she mentioned in her text.

Her mother is very concerned and I can sense that Sabina was very keen of adopting the kittens but with the support and approval of the whole family.
The mum and the grandma. I can understand Sabina is only 15 years old. She needs some guide. She mentioned they use to have a dog before they migrated to Australia

but then was returned to the owner as they could not bring the dog with them.

So I guide them to all the cats I have in the house for adoption. Little flashlight came and she seems like Sabina but her mum said Flashlight have funny fur.
I told her that’s what she looks like.
She is a tortoise looking cat and her strong identity is her huge big eye that’s why she named flashlight.

So I head on to the next house was other cats for adoptions are house in.

I showed Magellang and Paco they think they are already too big and her Snatch was already running to

Sabina and she seems she likes it. So she suggest let’s bring Snatch to the other house and let’s see how her grandma react and true enough she likes Snatch and I ask Sabina that little Snatch have a history before
I rescued him. So they have all group discussion which is pretty normal when your adoption another member that’s add on to the family. I am confident that Snatch will be going to a good home.

So I prepared Snatch food for few days, I explain to them the feeding time and the litter I even gave them the litter box with scooper and the sand.
I make sure that Snatch settled in with her needs and the rest they can figured out later on.
My aim is just to provide them easy start.
Snatch has been dewormed and I told them she has to go back next week for his 1st vaccine.

So seems all are going in the right directions everybody head on to the car to escort them out with Snatch I am praying that Snatch will be happy to the new place and new parents and that Sabina and family look after him and gave him love that he deserves.

That late night Sabina texted me saying that that her grandma found Snatch so playful and adorable.

They make him a new bed to sleep in but seem the little boy prepared the space under the big bed.

A well cat always curious of their new environment and exploring places around with his new home is pretty normal. I am happy that he found a new home and I hope it will be a success.

To Sabina and family thanks for giving new home for Snatch.

Kittens use for begging money from Tourist

Two weeks ago before I take off to Saigon for my short break , I have rescued 2 little kitties from
Wat Unalom .PPAWS have posted in their face book about the horrible scene and horrific act of this lady who use small kittens to beg money from the tourist . I know it sounds terrible but it is the reality in the country like Cambodia that animals are not protected by law.

Its very horrific situation and I hope one day the government of Cambodia will do something about the welfare of the animals in their country.

Of course with the situation of many poor people in Cambodia that life is harsh enough for those people who can’t eat 3x a day and no home no clean water and could not send their kids to school.

It’s understood that human first before animals.

I still remember when I met one expats in Phnom penh and he was asking me what I am doing and I told him I ran in-house a boarding home for pets in Cambodia mostly for expats and in my extra time I help and offer my free time to help animal welfare in Cambodia.

He nodded and said, I’m sorry but I have kids we teach them not to hurt animals but I would rather donate some money to the most needy institution which is the children s welfare that is my priority.

I said to him of course! We have different choices I also do both I help human children so does animals as well. We respect each other choices.

When I was reading the update of PPAWS face book I came across the photos of these cats.

Many members in the group exchanging comments, but I can’t bear in my soul that I don’t do anything in my own way how to help those kittens. I decided the next day to take a trip in the town and I am so determine to help those kittens.

I arrived there in the Unalum pagoda (temple) at 11: am the lady is snoozing. I guess she needed her much needed beauty sleep. I went inside the pagoda and I went to the wrong gate, I ask someone knows and they pointed me to the other gate. I told David bring your tuktuk outside so it’s easy for us to run with the cats.
I realized I don’t have any sharp object to cut the plastic string. So I walk few meters away to buy a scissor from the nearby shop. I choose the big one so it’s easy to use and it’s faster.

I then walk back to the gate and slide slowly to the side of the lady where the kittens are hanging with string they both asleep. I manage to snatch the 2 kitties and run fast to my tuktuk. I wanted to snatch them all but the rest is very close to her body and even to her arms.
I cannot take chances and risk my safety.

The people around her, the soda seller and the tuktuk and motto drivers give me a big sign.
Madam run now bring the cats with you!!!!!! All of them are waiving their hands get out there now!!!

The reasons for this, the lady have a reputation to be being rude and loud. Of course I don’t want to be in that situation you will never what’s going too happened next.

I sat down with the little weak kitties next to me... and you know the 2 kitties actually so happy and those even in their own way saying thank you!!! Thank you for saving us there!

I can’t control my tears to look at them.
This is not the way how the animals to be treated!

We many cats of our own most of them are rescued. We have rules in our house. That our animal has to eat first. They should not be hungry!!!

I brought the kitties home let them run around in our cat house.
I did not bath them right away as the other one is having a flu or cold she sneeze with the flu.
Very sad! They eat very little at the very beginning.

After 3 days in Saigon my niece texted me that the other one did not survived she is too weak to have her fight with. They are too weak to begin with. We are sad but what to do?

I still have 1 and I named him “Snatch “” he is been deworm and been check by the vet.

He is been having upset stomach and I ask the vet is he can gave him a shot to cure this.

So he did after few days he is good and here with the happy pictures of him.

For those of you who are interested to adopt Snatch he is just a job very playful and free happy spirit .
The person who have pure heart will never regret to adopt him.
He is now house trained and litter trained.
He talks to a lot and responded very well with humans and cats alike.

I have to e-mail the photos to PPAWS once I determined that he is more healthy and ready to go to a new home.PPAWSCambodia then will help me find a new parent for Snatch.

For some of you who see this lady in the pagoda begging for money using these little kittens.
Please refrain giving her money. She has to learn to find ways how to find her daily bread.
Also please inform your friends and friends of visiting friends in cambodia about this lady .
I hope one day an organisation will help her find something to start a new life and not using these poor cats as her prisoner.

Furry Mum Little break in Saigon

Finally I got a chance to take a 6 days break from the daily task in my furryplace.
But as always thesame time I wake up in the morning is still the same where ever you go I think.
It was nice to get a break once in awhile and just take life easy.
Stroll the town and act like a tourist even I have been in Saigon many times.
It’s been a lot of a change I see around, the place and the coffee shop I used to hang out and the place I buy a coco juice when you need to snap out of a thirst when running around in the humid place.
The first thing I do when I get a chance to visit Saigon is to visit the Notre Dam and light the candles

For me this is like a routine whenever I got a chance to visit the cathedral.
It is a nice feeling after stepping into the church and says my little prayer. I guess I miss having that since we don’t have proper church in Phnom Penh.

Running around in the city a lot of families in Vietnam keep small breed of dogs and some them are really taken care properly.
I don’t see many stray dogs in Saigon as still the dog meat consume is still very common.
But some of the families have nice dogs like this one, when they closing their shops they put this little furry on top of their shop. It really gets my attention and I quickly get my camera to have it taken.

It’s like this neighbor of us enjoyed more attention and his name is Mr. Yip he very sturdy but very sweet dog who always greeted by regular customers that his parent have selling food and freshly squeeze fruit juice. I can tell Mr. Cip enjoyed a loving parent who looks after him and his 2 adorable companion the kitties.

Seeing of course all these furies makes me think and miss my bunch in the house.
But normally I check my house 5-6x a day just to make sure that all my furies and the furies that board with us are all good and no problem.
So far, I am enjoying my short stay in Saigon.
I’m looking forward to go home and seeing my packs getting excited what Mum brings to them of course I have to make sure I bring something when I go home.

Cutting and trimming trees with the fur

The rainy days have come in Cambodia and it’s time to trim some of the fruit trees in the ground of Myfurryplace.

As much as I like I would like to keep my environment green as possible but some of the fruits are now really long and it needs to get trimmed in order to give way to more healthy branches also to avoid the fruits if getting higher that it’s difficult to reach during picking time.

Also to give way to some of my plants that needs sun to bloom and grow.

Its takes load of time to propagate and get it blooms.

Jackfruit is good when they are not too high then they will bear fruits consistently.

We have to keep it trimmed.

After all of that thick leaves are gone our ground was so bright.

It’s very different normally when you’re in the ground you feel that you’re really in the countryside.

This is what I enjoyed with the ground of the furry place.

If I see my trees and flowers bearing fruits I feel happy and fresh.

The feeling of having green and clean air around you and I supposed our furies enjoyed it.

During the process of course we need to alternate the furies for their regular business poop and pee and during this time Stella and Roosevelt has to be in action together with Anzac, Moth and Coco.

I think the scent of the wood apple attracts them.

Of course safety first , while Vanna is busy cutting and dropping the branches the furies has to be collected and put them inside to avoid accident , not that the branches of the cut trees are falling in their heads .

That’s the last things I don’t want to happen.

But it seems that they are having fun seeing all these branches scattering in the floor, Even Bindi our new Aussie guest freshly from Australia just 2 weeks ago was also very keen to check what’s going on.

A little Beebee is curious, and don’t under estimate my little special guest 15-1/2 years old poodle must join.

Fluffy is very active at his ages, new interaction and new things happening in the ground makes him waggle his tail.

I am happy that he is as well participating with all the activity in the house.

Although I watch carefully how long he engages himself in such activities.

I have to be careful that he does not overdo it.

Fluffy is not very healthy anymore at his ages.

But I adore his energy and spirit this boy.

With all these trimmings nothing to be wasted I used the woods for cooking furry meal and the leaves I decompose for natural fertilizer.

The Challenge of taking care older dog

As we have many dogs of our own preparing our self to our own furr getting older is one of the reason why I accepted this new guest.

Accepting an older dog or older cats for pet sitting or boarding would be a good experience .

A new customer e-mailed me and ask me to look after her 15 ½ years older male poodle.

Normally I don’t say yes until I see with my two eyes what I am getting into.

So we made an appointment to see and know each other especially the poodle name Fluffy.

I can see he is still very good shape at his age, a typical poodle whose cheerful and sweet in their own personality. Poodles are known for their sweet mild and playful character I think that’s the reason why most of the poodle boards in the house get accepted with my own packs.

I talk to my husband and told him the story about Fluffy he said are you sure of what are you doing?

If something happened to him then you can’t handle to accept that in your soul and then the parent of the dog, how would you explain to them?

I thought about it of course I was super scared but I think it would be sad not to accept Fluffy to be part of myfurryplace even is his few years or months life.

II would be happy to be part of fluff’s happy life.

I would be very happy to do it even he would be a challenge for me.

It will also be a good opportunity to look after older dogs and see how they are at this very challenging part of their life.

So I said yes to Fluffy’s parents, after all they are very nice people!

Talking to them and being a dog lover myself help me connect to each parent and understand their situation.

I am very confident I can do the job! Even this will challenge my ability my knowledge and energy I don’t see any hindrance in there really.

It is not only the money, but to be part of older dogs life give me satisfaction that I have cared such soul. The very first night, I see that Fluffy is rather vulnerable and delicate. I have departed myself of our sleeping arrangement with my own pack. That means sorry babies Mum furry will not be sleeping with you all in the same room tonight. But I am only next door.

I have laid a mattress in the floor in my office and I aligned Fluffys bed next to me.

So I see what’s happening with him during the night. I don’t want to miss anything.

I have noted very well in my head what his Mum told me from food to drink to his medicine.

His mums also prepared rather well organize stuff for him before coming to the house.

He’s medicine has been cut well prepared!

On the 4rt day I noticed that fluffy has been sneezing and coughing. I was so worried to death oh No! Bring him to the vet and the vet explained that Fluffy start having fluid in his lungs.

I wanted to burst in tears. This poor little boy will endure this somehow. So he got a shot and another pill to drains those fluids. When I start giving the medicine ofcouse fluffy always want to sleep and seems tired. But when you call him for a walk he would get up right away.

He loves to be being surrounded by same fur he has. It makes me happy to see him feeling happy and excited !

I have to always watch him if he oversleep of is he is still breathing. All nerve racking situation.

There are few things that to keep in mind about taking care older dogs

Keep a routine time of their medicine, exercise as walking, limit the time according to his capacity and endurance. I do it for ten to fifteen minutes. With the humidity and considering the temperature in the environment you live in.

The time of playing and walking should be always set to same time.

His activity and inter actions with other furriers as well has to be monitored, not that he is too much hyper integrating with them. Especially if the fur is having difficulties of breathing.

Always filled in fresh water in his bowl if possible 3- 6 x a day.

His diet has to be monitored accordingly.

Always engage in activity that the dog truly enjoyed. Let him sleep longer he is an older dogs he goes to sleep early but also wake up early , and after that the fur want to rest again.

Always be gentle to the fur needs and regular visit to the vet is a must to the older dogs.

Patience play a big rule to this stage, they will have accidentally urinate and poop everywhere.

Always clean their ears and fur, although older dogs tend to refuse to bath. But rubbing them with natural scent wet tissues help a lot.

Always be loving and understanding to them. They have no difference with human being children that need loads of love and attention. After all you’re the only one they get. The rest are extra and bonus to them.

Oh hello Blog!

It’s been nearly weeks I haven’t update my blog! Sorry folks I could not get my head and my heart to blog .

I could not find time to relax and get inspiration. Myfurryplace is super full I am not complaining I am very happy furr keep us busy.

Recently I spend some of my time reinventing new menu to all my fur and exploring their appetite.

My new discovery was the chicken jelly for the cat.

Last 2 weeks ago our 2 little kittens my husband rescue from his work place 5 weeks ago have wet poop after coming from the vet I guess it was the dewormed effect to them.

But it seems lasted 1 week and they refuse to eat what used to be their regular food.

Steamed fish, chicken and cats can goods.

The dry food is always available to all of them.

When they refuse to eat, I was horrified they might die! Oh no! Not my husband rescued kittens.

I went to the town and check what is available in the supermarket and 1 found only 2 pouches or what is said red snapper and chicken in rice with jelly. Its sound yummy already.

It looks like these pouch are just flying in the shelves !

So I grab the last remaining packet and head back home I then re-heat the pouch and gave it to them.

Wow they love it!!!! its works like magic , oh I was so crazy happy they eat !!!!

In the evening I open another one which they said chicken and rice in jelly I open that as well for dinner and all of these pouch works like magic. I think its something with the smell that so enticing to the appetite of the cats or they just get bored or same old boring stuff what Mum furry always give.

Yesterday I open the whole pouch and put in white bowl I scrutinized what is inside this pouch it looks like chicken, in there, carrot, and surely they said powder .maybe its flour.

Whats what the label said. They do not of course elaborate which powder but I am 100% sure its flour.

I also taste it and find which part the cat makes crazy about this food.?

Then I head on to my computer and consult Mr. Google and you always have many recipe to choose with.

So I choose the one which all are available in my fridge.Plus i twist a little bit with the brown rice and little bit of pumpkin.

Chicken cat jelly

3 cup of Chicken broth

Flour 1/4 Carrots diced into small cubes

3/4 Minced meat (cooked) Pieces of fish (Cooked) – optional (I use chicken)

3 tbs cooked brown rice

4 table spoon of bread crumbs

2 spoon of pumpkin

I cooked 2 portions for evening and breakfast.

Most of my ingredients actually are all in my fridge ready I just scoop cooked rice in the rice cooker which as well ready and cooked every afternoon. Same thing with the pumpkin as my doggies have this as well in their diet.

I always have plenty of stock for chicken broth as I boiled always breast chicken for the cat.

I choose the bread scrumps and potato flour I sipped it first and thrown into pot to have that little brown look and I twist a little bit of brown rice and little bit of pumpkin.

effect. I put it aside and let it cool. The broth is already cold since its coming from the fridge.

I then mixed all together in the pot in a very high heat and to make sure it is thick and creamy mixture.

And then add on the chicken and carrots. I have in the food processor .

Once cooked I let it cool and make it into 2 portions. I keep half in the fridge to serve in the morning and to see that jelly effect.

I serve the half with side sardines from the cat. Oh my gosh! My cats love it!! And Peppy is asking for more.

I have never seen her increased with her appetite and knowing she is so picky with what she eats.

So now I know they love this chicken jelly. The next time I want to explore is fish and some rice and pumpkin .maybe they love that as well.

With all the furry in my care. It is very important for me that I serve good nutritious food and not being wasted since they don’t like to eat or becoming bored or same thing every day.

I will always continue and explore a new healthy recipe for them.

What I learned always from shifting into new diet and new menu is .

You need to do it in a very small portion first to determine the digestion of your furries .

The summer holiday for school just started and the house is very busy with all the fur parents left for us to look after while their parents goes back home for much needed holiday perhaps to bond with their families .

I always said that in Cambodia actually have many holidays to enjoy 26 days a year or more? Not including the school holidays.

What else can you ask for? Are there any other countries who offer such holiday?

When the monk chanting I always think what is today ?must be special day in the pagoda and maybe its holiday?

Summer holidays are also the time when schools do some little activities.

One of them is from ISPP – International School of Phnom penh.

This is rather a late post but it’s worth to share I hope.

The kids come in small group and only one of the kids in the group was super afraid of animals.

I feel so sad for her. I really wish that one day she learns to accept inside her heart that those animals are not there to hurt her but instead to learn the different love what animals can offer to human being.

Normally dogs and cats love young children they love to play with them. This little girl was super frightened of anything that maybe moves as consider animals.

My chicken of course was so happy to see many kids feeding them with shredded carrots, cucumber, pumpkin and corn. It was a treat to all of them!

My guineas were also very happy that they got to see new faces except with Vanna who gave them grass everyday and us giving them food and me if I take them out of their cages and let them run and play around in the ground with the rabbits and chickens.

It’s also the time were they get their dose of exercise.

After the back yard farm petting, we continue inside our house, I let the pet my little cats, I think they enjoy that as well. 2 of them are natural born animal lover specially Sienna who is practically loves cats and can tell many stories back from her country.

Its our job to make sure that any fur who is board with us should be engage in stimulating activities.
One of them is to make sure that all of them get plenty of exercise to stimulate their brains.
Syrel is very good always to do things which drive all the fur crazy but as well as they enjoyed being part of the activities. Even participating into story telling. I guess to manage that all of the Furies get interested to this activity is to gave them reward.
So we make sure we always reward them of what they got accomplish during this activities.
The reason is meaningful and very rewarding for us, when the Furies are happy and enjoyed during their stay.

Simba the English Pitbull

House sitting an English pit bull Simba is really fun!

My niece and I actually seen Simba in the village where they walk him around Syrel said... Tita we have not housed sit this kind of breed. She moves slowly, I said maybe he is old.

Then one day from word of mouth I got e-mail from her mother that their going for holiday and that they like to check in Simba with us.

When she e-mailed me the picture I know this is the same dog we have seen last time in the road.

My niece were excited when I told her we might house sit an English Bull. She said in our own language!

Talaga!! Meaning really!!! We are all both excited of course.

He must be the oldest dog we ever house sit. The vet claimed that it’s only 2 of this breed in Cambodia.

Surprisingly Simba is actually very sweet! He has developed an eye sight issue. This is due to old age.

His parents actually drop Simba with an all his gadgets.

His bed his toys, his food ,medicine for his eyes and, vitamins. When I see these I said whoa! You bring your entire whole house!!! Loll! Just kidding.

I thought of my. This must be a lot of problem his parents said that Simba actually hardly acquainted with other dogs. SO I was thinking this must be a challenge to handle this dog if he is not social at all.

At the very beginning I was afraid and hesitant to get him acquainted with the other dogs.

But it’s a pity that he will explore the garden just by himself. With his mellow temper actually it should not be a problem. Knowing that he is never been with other dogs as often as he can.

This very normal that he is excited and she is hyper at the very beginning. Which all are very normal.

I watch him very carefully when the first time we want them to be integrated.

He has done a very good job as well as the other dog help him get calm.

There’s of course other dog that he really likes but sometimes with his hyper character they all get them excited and when that happened the energy sparks and that the time that we need to get them apart.

Simba will be very good with the dogs that it’s not soo much hyper and should be calm. If they are both hyper then they will sparks and that we don’t need. We don’t want accident.

But over all Simba was been very good. When he discovers that it’s actually fun to be outdoor and with other dogs, He starts banging the door and insists that he want to be part of that crowd.

So we did as he likes we gave in to his demands. Let me out of here!!! Can’t you see? I want to have fun as well. When he starts panting and all his ears and face turns red then its time he need to be in the aircon.

At the 2^nd day of his stay I was actually worried I think with all the activities when I wake him up in the morning he was not lifting his head! I said oh dear! What now. ?? Actually he is deep asleep.

In the night I set my alarm 3x to go and check on him anyway I am only 8 meters from his room. If not me then my niece Syrel. After the 3^rdday he was more alert . When he hear my steps in the middle of the night then he already stand and wait infront of his room. He knows I come and check on him.

Overall our first work with Simba I must say it was successful he has much fun with him and I think he did with us . Aside that he is grumpy a little bit.

Juicy Tomatoes and fresh herbs in the garden

Maintaining a green garden is more tempting to plant more than just a blooming flower.

But having a garden with vegetables is another plus.

Growing some of your favorite veggies is another fun of having a garden. It’s always nice to wake up and walk around that something that you seed into the ground come grow something like this.

Also all my furies are curious whats inside the net ? The dogs ill always hang around near to the nets tempting to go inside my tomatoes. Its not easy to lift up the nets as I safety with heavy wood just to make sure those flying and crawling insects will not invade my tomatoes.

It’s pleasant to your eyes and its fun to pick up fresh from your garden.

Gardening is truly a stress released for me seeing the blooming rose’s flowers and tomatoes and herbs.

When furies are rummaging my garden they are also very curious what is in that flat covered with mosquito

nets. I did cover that with the reason that to keep my tomatoes and salad from pest.

Surely it works! Keeping mosquito nets or any other nets to protect your juicy tomatoes from insects and pest.

When human being truly have passion for cats and true love for cats.

Your house revolves with all the cats’ life. Even you go out with all fur all over your nice shirts ,trouser and t-shirts and specially with those expensive suits. You don’t mind! You don’t care what people would say. All you care is I have cats of all those are natural to us. Who really cares!

My blog today is about one of my customers in my pet sitting. She contacted me from my FurryPlace face book!MyFurry Place She needs to move to Bangkok and her intentions is to find a new home for her 2 mother and son cats. They are 100% indoor cats.

I told her .Im sorry but I cannot adopt your cats! How ever I can offer you to look after your cats while your preparing and moving your life to the next country.

That’s what myfurryplace are for ?

Unfortunately in Cambodia is it not easy to re-home either kittens or even older cats.

So she was been challenge with the situation. She is running out of time and no one have interest to have her cats or even have someone but she is very hesitant, I told her you have a lovely cats.

Your moving just 1 fly from Cambodia why can’t you bring them in Bangkok with you.

So I ask how much she can afford so I can house and look after her 2 cats.

She then mentioned I can only manage to do this and this and I said be open to me and I will see what can I do.

So my intentions of course as always , I wanted to help her to look after her cats while she is preparing for her life , work home in Bangkok until then she gets all pieces and she is ready, better then she brings the cats with her to join her and her husband in Bangkok.

Knowing that she actually fly 2 rabbits from Australia to Cambodia before and really look after them until with old age they die in Cambodia.

That’s already impressive enough that the lady is natural pet person at heart.

I am convinced that she will never abandon her cats.

We agreed on something that it has to be in 3 months time.

After 2 days I manage to arrange another place just for her cats. Since they will be staying with me for 3 months. That its best suited place to her 2 cats for that period of time.

The God cats must be in her side I found a nice place just 50 meters away from my house.

Its a nice place with 2 rooms upstairs and really huge enough for both of them to explore.

When I came up in her rooms to see her 2 cats.

I almost wanted to laugh that she said the reason why she sealed the gap space under her bed as the 2 cats is always hiding there and she has hard time getting them out. That’s because the cats find it cozier down there and safer for them to hide and sleep. As for me I could not be bothered of course because no matter how to file up and hooked up carton or cardboard in there. The cat will never stop! Pearcing it!

She said they break it and she sealed it again! I said whoa!!! You have so much patience with you.

Just for both of them to enjoy!

This is the love of a woman to her cats ~! Unquestionable unconditional love and no limit.

I truly respect her for that.

How I wish all of us can do that and think that cats are being part of our family.

As you are reading this, both Pumpkin and Pipper are still with me enjoying their huge own cats condo.

Their mother supplied them with new nice toys and abundant food and treats.

Kitties looking for new home

Anggun our rescued cat from that French lady who passed away inside her house last last year.!

Then we realized she is heavily preggy !

So we dicided to continue her pregnancy until she born 4 kitties the other one did not survived during birth. But the 3 manage to have a bouncy happy growing like kitties.

We have enjoyed every minutes of them during their growing up.

They are truly a bundle of joy!

They are playful and they are very sweet.

Their tempers are good.

The saddest thing for me to let them go is I miss theme during bed time.

All of them look for me and sleep beside me or in legs or in my back.

They know that during night night I bring them all inside my room and they will actually get that routine that they look for me. Specially Lailah!

The solid grey color she is the sweetest among the three.

I really would like to keep them unfortunately that is not fair to all my older cats.

Also small kittens deserve to have a home that they get all the attention.

Unlike in my house I have many cats, they are competing with each other and sometimes they are jealous to each other.

I wish I can give them all that attention and care that other parents out there maybe can give them.

Of course it’s so sad for me to let them go.

I cared for them since they from their mothers belly.

I actually gave them names already. But you can change it later on if you like.

They are 3 months old. All are eating both solid food and dry food. All litter trained.

Lailah , the 1st and in the middle is Maggelang and the 3rd one is Paco

Magellang – she is the one with white and black spot. She is the oldest among the 3 very playful and talk a lot! She has long tail with little twist at the end. She is in the middle.

Paco – he is the one with solid black with white accent.

Short tail and I always though he has a cross eyes. But it’s not.

He is the strongest among all.

Sometimes look for me and sometimes join her sister to sleep in my back and always follow me in the bathroom and I find him strange sometime, He watch me shower.

He stands next to the toilet bowl and being to fascinate when the water runs.

He is in the right side.

Lailah – is the youngest among all. She is the sweetest with little tiny meow!

She like attention and love to play. Lailah have long tail with little twist at the end of her swan.

Lailah have very cute and sweet face and she would always look for me in the room and slide here and there in my feet.

I always pick her up and kissed! She loved that. She would sleep under my blanket.

She is the 1st one on the left.

All kitties are really pretty and happy . They have been deworm and I am waiting to have their 1^st shot.

All are very healthy cats.

Publicity is sometimes can be good but sometimes it can be not. That’s why I am being careful who ask me to come and visit my furry place and write an article. This time my husband met from Cambodia daily and he caught be right handed. Exactly he wants to come to my house during this peak season and very busy time in the house. I have been approach before with other people but I refuse.

For the reason that I am not ready for many customers who call for our service.

Currently I am very happy with our stable and regular happy customers.

It’s more manageable and it’s easier to handle.

My husband is always very conservative in approaching business so I listen to him carefully.

But I also think I will never be ready if I will think it this way. So I granted George Stylliss from Cambodia daily for almost 2- hours interview.

And he sums up a story in the papers right after the Khmer New Year holiday.

Khmer New year peak time for Pet sitting

Khmer New Year is the busy and peak time in myfurryplace.
When most of the expats parents are going back to their own country or travelling outside the country for much needed holiday.

The house is full and it’s like 24/7 nonstop work for all of us in the house.

This is also the time that we have no staff as most of our staff is all going for their Khmer New Year holiday. We have to ensure that the house will run smoothly from cleaning and other things that need to be in place while our staffs are all in holiday.

So how does we carry our work in order and to make sure that all are working well while out staff are all in their holidays?

I do my marketing 4 days ahead before the big holiday take off.

As I’m been living in Cambodia for nearly 12 years Ived learn that during these big holidays most of the things I buy specially the veggies , meat and fruits the prices are going up until 40% high.

So I stock up meat and veggies for at least 2 weeks use.
Some of the veggies you can actually freeze for long time like the moringa.
The meat surely if keeps well in the fridge.

So that time that people are all running and making their prices high.
I was calm in the house I have enough supply during the holiday.

I also make sure that we have enough stock for cat sand for the cats. So I stocked up pretty well.

That as well includes a fresh fish, dry food and including the cat sardines.

I normally prepare this 1 month ahead to stock up as many as I can so during the time that the holiday start are all the rush buying starts I already filled in my stocks.

Anything this is we make sure that we keep the house as normal as possible when it comes to cleaning.

So my niece and I normally split the work and make sure as fast and as easy as we can.

Anything we need to make sure aside from the busy time in the house.

Is to keep the furries as happy as they can, so we normally schedule activities that all of them can participate. This includes the playing time in the garden in the morning and afternoon.

Both dogs and cats when you allocate playing time with them until they worn out.

Believed me surely all are asleep during night time. Then we have out time for our self and thats the time we also have time to face book and all of that fun activities.Updating my the pet parents about their well being of their pets that includes loading up photos of the pets to facebook.

So it’s really a matter of organizing. Keep the pets happy so our life is more happy and easy.

Believed me guys house sitting pets can be stressful and tiring but only when you don’t know how you allocate your time and make your life easy.

The reward of all of that are happy pets staying with us and happy parents when they see their pets happy with us. it’s just simple work actually if you know how to manage your time.

Keeping my furries healthy is to find the best diet.

When one of the guest Anzac came to our house and her mum said Anzac loves moringa.

Knowing that moringa is packed of nutrients. I did try to my furries and so far they love it.

I include these veggies to their daily diet.

As I cant go to the market everyday , so buy in big fresh quantity and I freeze in the plastic bags . Every time cooked I unfreeze and its like crips and fresh.

One of my friends from manila actually told me you can buy now in powder. She said it’s her staple food for her furries. I did try my research before of course trying to feed them and what I found.

Moringa in Cambodia has not been explored. So far they only eat the veggies for soup unlike us from the Philippines we do a lot of process out of these veggies, from crackers to capsules and others.

Anngun Kitties are all grown up

Anggun Kitties are now exploring each corner of our house.

Our houses are more alive having them around.

With kitties it’s very difficult not to be attached with them they are buddle of joy.

Each of them has different characters and both are all very sweet.

I actually named them all, the black and white is Paco, the grey one is Laila and the white and grey is Magelang.

Laila is the sweetest among all she normally climb and sleeps in my back during bed time and then rest will follow and joined her.

Both of them are all ready for adoption in one month more.

It’s sad to let them go but I can’t keep them all.

To my Phnom Penh friends all cats and FREE for good home.

After all kittens are gone Anggun will go for spaying.

My furries consumed loads of sardines’ everyday and the tin goes for recycling.

End of the week I normally sorted out all the tin cans from sardines to soda and those tetra packs from milk and juices.

Cambodia as a country have no companies that do recycling yet except from the carton boxes that they start the first step to process but the final finishing is going to the next door country Vietnam.

But tins and sort of sardines and sodas are the famous one where the garbage collector are collecting and goes to recycling that again they will cross to the boarder of Vietnam to finally process.

Those Tetra packs and bottles they haven’t found any used yet. Except from a small handicrafts that they them for purses and other staff. I really wish that the government will put enough efforts to encourage company to have recycling business in company for those.

In other countries nothing to be thrown away. Anything than can be recycled can be done!

But not in Cambodia yet.

I always think that there’s always money in garbage. As what we all says “”One man's trash is another man's treasure.

In my house anything that I can recycle I do make use of all of them.

Recently I got an idea that these can tins from cat sardine I can actually make a nice flowers pots ornaments that added beauty to my garden.

After I throw things in the garbage I always trained myself and my team in the house that before you throw things in the bin always clean and rinse the tins and bottle plus tetra packs first before disposing .

In that the tins always stay clean and to refrain attracting bugs and ants and to keep our area clean.

The rest of the tins I sell them and keep those in our tins can piggy bank.
Can make use for Xmas expenses !
Oh ! I hope someone from Me-O stumbled into my blog and at least give my furries some freebies.

The furries and the Tuktuk

Normally when the tuktuk driver is coming I always ask him to wait for me outside.

I only allowed him to go inside when I brought many things from supermarket or something that need to carry heavy.

But we always make sure that all the furries are all inside the house and no one is outside to avoid the accident. But yesterday I ask David my tuktuk guy to come inside and if he want to pick some mango for his wife. While he is waiting for me as I need to go out again to nearby store to buy brown rice.

While he is busy picking mangoes I ask the girls bring out the furries so they can do their business.

But instead the furries are so busy checking the park tuktuk in the ground.

When its time to go they are all in the tuktuk Sheba, Wally and Anzac think that they are going out with me outside.

They are just having fun !

So I decided I ride to the tuktuk until we reach to the gate and we have to force them to get out.

Just having fun with the fur.

I told them they can ride with me until the gate.

The girls including David have hard time bringing both three of them out of the tuktuk and the worse one who refuses to get out of the tuktuk is Sheba.

Sheba just taking her time undecided not to get out of the tuktuk.

Finally I told her Sheba I will be back only 15 minutes I go just to the nearby store and get some brown rice.

Most of the fur actually love tuktuk ride.

You know my niece said they waited for me in the gate for few minutes and refuse to go inside.

Babies waiting for me to comeback from the store.
