MGP's Fizzy, Jasmer, and DeLorme "Master" Lists Are Now Public

The GeoAchievement Badge profile section awards badges to cachers who have found multiple Fizzy Well-Rounded, DeLorme, or Jasmer challenge caches. Our "master" lists of these challenges are now public on geocaching.com. If you're interested in these caches, please browse the lists and let us know about any caches that we're missing. Links to these lists are also available on the Help page under the GeoAchievement Badge section.

New AlphaNumeric Challenge Options!

Fans of AlphaNumeric Caching Challenges rejoice! The current profile section for the AlphaNumeric Cacher Challenge has been expanded and now has its own Extras page where you can customize the specific challenge you're working on. You can now decide whether special characters should be ignored, restrict finds to a specific state, exclude certain caches from the challenge, and more.

Also, we've added an entirely new section for the AlphaNumeric Cache Name Challenge. This challenge requires that you find caches which have names starting with each number 0 through 9 and each letter A through Z. It also has its own Extras page where you can customize details about how the challenge should work.

In addition, we've added a number of new Fizzy Well Rounded and Jasmer challenge caches to our "master" list. If you've found any of these caches, you'll now be given credit on your Fizzy and Jasmer GeoAchievement badges.

New Profile Feature - Manually Add US County Finds

As Groundspeak works on migrating statistics over to geocaching.com, we'll still be releasing some new features here on mygeocachingprofile.com. Some of these will eventually be moved to geocaching.com as well!

The latest addition allows you to manually add United States counties to the big United States county map. If a county doesn't correctly turn red due to some imprecision with the map or if you get credit for a county by placing a hide, you can manually add it to the county list and it will turn red the next time you upload your My Finds Pocket Query ZIP file. You can find this new feature in the "US Counties I've Cached In" section on the Build My Profile page.

Our latest change updates the US county map with the latest 2010 county data from the US Census Bureau. The next time you upload your My Finds Pocket Query and refresh your profile page, you'll see an updated map that includes any changes in county borders over the last 10 years.

A find rate per day geocaching that calculates your find rate over the days you were actively geocaching. This find rate is now part of the Caching Chronology section.
A DeLorme GeoAchievement badge that rewards cachers for completing DeLorme challenge caches.

Our latest addition is the "Most Well Rounded Days" section. This section shows the days that you found the most cache types, container types, or difficulty/terrain types. It's a great way to reminisce on those well rounded caching days where you found a wide variety of different caches.

New MGP Features!

A new Miscellaneous Statistics section that shows the average length of your "Found it" logs.

An updated UK/Ireland Counties Map that separates the map from the list of counties. This is helpful if you'd just like to display one or the other. If you include this section in your profile, make sure to do a fresh copy/paste of your profile HTML over to geocaching.com or wherever else you display your profile.

A new option in the Memorable Finds section that lets you just show your total FTF count instead of the entire list of FTFs.

A new option in the Well Rounded Cacher Challenge feature that lets you specify that caches are only valid if they were found after a specific date. Some WRC challenges ask that you only count caches that were found after you officially begin the challenge!

New Profile Features - Jasmer Challenge and Excluding Caches from Location-Based Stats

Our latest additions include a new profile section showing your progress towards the Jasmer Challenge. The Jasmer Challenge asks cachers to find caches that were placed in each month since geocaching began in May 2000. The new grid will help you visualize your progress on this goal. Also, the General Settings section now lets you specify caches that should not count towards your location-based statistics. So if you logged an armchair cache (like Germany's "Four Windows") you can add it here and it won't skew your distance statistics and maps.

New Profile Features - Cache Owners and Distance Between Caches

Our latest additions include a new profile section showing statistics about the owners of the caches you find. You can see the total number of cache owners you've found caches from and the top ten cache owners for your finds. Also, a new Caching Radius section has been released showing the total straight line distance between all the caches you've found in the order you've found them. Remember, this total distance doesn't count any locationless caches or moving/traveling caches.

As with all new profile sections, you'll need to 1) upload your "My Finds" pocket query to generate the profile images and 2) re-export your HTML code and re-paste it into your geocaching.com profile if you'd like to show off your stats.

Mygeocachingprofile.com Acquired by Groundspeak!

Great news for lovers of geocaching statistics! Groundspeak has acquired the mygeocachingprofile.com site and will be moving the statistics, charts, and maps into the geocaching.com website! They have already begun an initial transfer of several profile sections into a new "Stats" tab in your geocaching profile and they plan to move over more sections in the near future. Look for the new "Stats" profile tab in the upcoming geocaching.com release next week!

The mygeocachingprofile.com website will continue to be available in its current form so cachers can take advantage of any existing sections that haven't yet been incorporated into the main geocaching.com site. We'll also be passing along all of your fantastic development suggestions to the Groundspeak team so that they can continue providing new statistics and maps directly on geocaching.com.

Minor Updates to Maps and Little Quest

Some minor updates/fixes have been made to the site:

The Canadian Map has been updated to work with the latest version of the Google Charts API. You'll notice a larger map with a much better land projection.

The European and World maps have been fixed so that Moldova will properly shade with finds.

Isle of Man has been added to the UK and Ireland Counties map. Although the Isle of Man technically isn't part of the UK, it seems strange to leave it off the map.

The Little Quest section has been updated to count some county replacement caches that are now part of the challenge.

Finally, per the GSA, Earthcache finds in United Kingdom counties now count the same as finds in U.S. states towards the Earthcache Masters Badge.

UK and Ireland County Map

The first version of our United Kingdom and Ireland Counties map is now live! Upload your My Finds PQ to see the new image on the Build My Profile page. If you want to include the map in your profile, remember to export your HTML code that includes this new section over to geocaching.com. There have been many sets of counties in the UK over the years, but we hope the map we present will make the most people happy. Feel free to send us your comments and of course let us know if you see any problems.

We've also upgraded the European Country map to the latest version of the Google Chart API. The map is larger now and should have the latest boundaries for all countries. However, we may still tinker with the style - stay tuned! As always, upload your My Finds PQ and then refresh your profile page to see the newest image.

Major Site Upgrade

We've made a major upgrade to the site that improves many of the existing features and increases our ability to support a growing number of new users. Here are the main changes:

Some existing profile sections like the My Caching Chronology section and My GeoAchievement Badges section have been split up into multiple images so that you can selectively include or exclude parts of the section in your profile. This gives you more control over how your profile looks, but also requires that all users do a one-time copy/paste of their profile HTML over to geocaching.com after their next upload. This will ensure that the HTML on geocaching.com is correct and will update going forward. Please remember to do this on your next upload.
The main website pages "My Account" and "My Profile" have been renamed to Upload My Finds Pocket Query and Build My Profile to better reflect their purpose. There is also another option on the navigation menu for Preview/Export My Profile. This page generates the HTML code for your profile based on your settings.
The settings for the Introduction section of your profile now show any caches that you've logged more than once. Oftentimes, these double loggings are a mistake and are hard to pinpoint.
The Build My Profile page now has links to each profile section at the top of the page so you can easily jump to a section and review your settings.
The Lost/Found event and Groundspeak Headquarters cache type counts recently broke due to a Groundspeak change. This has been fixed and you should see the proper stats on the next upload.
We've added two new donation methods - Google Checkout and Check/Money Order. Also, your donations now unlock a new "MGP Contributor" GeoAchievement Badge. The site is still entirely free. This bonus badge is just a way to thank everyone who contributes to the site and helps us keep doing what we're doing.

New Cache Types

Groundspeak has added a couple of new one-off cache types to the game - The Groundspeak HQ cache type is reserved for GCK25B located at none other than...the Groundspeak Headquarters in Seattle, Washington! The new Lost and Found Event cache type is being used for the Lost & Found Celebration (GC24GYW) hosted by Groundspeak. These new cache types have been added to the main profile section. They also appear as options in the Well-Rounded Cacher section. You'll see them in your profile the next time you upload your "My Finds" PQ and refresh your stats.

A Number of Small Upgrades

We've made a number of small upgrades to the site that should address some lingering issues.

1) The My Profile page now has a timezone setting. Select your timezone and then re-upload your "My Finds" PQ. The timezone will be factored into your cache find dates which can help fix some issues with GeoStreaks and other chronology stats.

2) The US Counties Map has a new look. After the next upload, refresh your My Profile page and you should see the new larger map.

3) The pocket query analysis now runs much faster, especially when chugging away at the US County maps.

4) Finally, we've addressed some issues with our hosting site that sometimes caused your upload/analysis to randomly fail half-way through. Expect a more stable experience!

Track Your Progress on the Pennsylvania and Washington DeLorme Challenges

We've added profile sections for tracking your progress on two new DeLorme Challenges: PA and WA. Upload your latest My Finds pocket query file on the My Account page to have these new images generated. Remember, since these are brand new sections, if you want them to appear in your geocaching.com profile, you'll need to also export your profile to HTML and copy/paste it into geocaching.com.
