You cannot do that enough, because you are continually walking through your home with your shoes on spreading that filth around daily. You would have to clean your carpet and wash your floors every single day. Who has time to do that?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We are fighting germs every single day. No one wants these things in their homes. Removing your shoes is a great way to keep those things right where they belong. Outside!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Wearing shoes in the house has become convenient, because people don't want to take the time even to remove their shoes. Doing things, because they are convenient aren't always good reasons to do them. As we have learned with our eating habits.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you just have to wear shoes in the house get some house shoes or slippers that you only wear in the house and not outside. Ask people who visit your home also, to remove their shoes. If they ask you why. Give them the above reasons. You may also want to have a sign made and post it on a wall right beside the door. Then slice them. Peel then chop the garlic. Add the onions then the garlic. Add the olive oil. Then add the butter. Saute the onions and the garlic until they turn yellow and you smell the aroma. Add the chicken broth or water. Cover the pot. When it starts to boil add salt and pepper. It is not strenuous at all. The methods help you to focus and gain your concentration. I have just started doing yoga again. I like to do my yoga in the morning. It really helps me with concentration, flexibility, and digestion. I am so not naturally flexible. (LOL) I feel so much better after I do it. I have a slow digestion system and I'll almost do anything to keep it running smoothly. ( I sound like I am some kind of machine.) Along with drinking water, eating fresh fruits, and exercise it really helps me with it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you don't have a yoga mat you might want to invest in one. If you have never done yoga a good book would be very helpful. One book that I find is good is called," The Book of Yoga" by Christina Brown. It explains what yoga is fully and helps you understand how the postures can help you attain good health. Yoga helps your body get back into balance. Many times our bodies get off balance because of stress, obesity, sickness, or medication, etc.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I really enjoy doing yoga. The motivation for me is the health benefits. That's a motivation for me to do all the things that I do. It is because I want to stay healthy. I feel so much better. It does involve sacrifices but it is so worth it. I'll take feeling good over miserable any day. Another added bonus is you will feel so relaxed afterwards. If you have problems with sleeping. Year after year you make a promise to yourself that this is going to be the year that you will lose weight, but instead of losing weight you slip back into your old eating habits. The out to eat foods, soda, and sweet-treats. This has become your daily routine. You feel tired, out-of-breath, lazy, and just plain miserable. You don't even look in the mirror anymore because you feel so fat and unhealthy. Think about these questions before you answer them. When you eat what are you eating to satisfy your hunger? Are you doing any form of exercise? Do you cook from scratch?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The reason I ask you if you are really hungry when you eat is because many people aren't eating because they are hungry. They eat because they are depressed, stressed, bored, social occasions, happy, or just because they have a taste for a certain kind of food. None of those reasons are a legitimate reason to eat. It is especially bad for your health if you are doing this on a regular basis. The reason I asked you the second question. Is because many people are eating the wrong things. Such as processed food and junk food. Which doesn't nourish our bodies at all. The reason I asked you the third question. The body needs movement. If you are not moving you will not burn any fat. That means all the food you are eating is just being stored on your body which turns to fat. The reason I asked you the fourth question is because cooking from scratch is better for your health because you are purchasing the food, thus knowing what ingredients is being used. At a fast food restaurants you have no idea what is being used.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We must get rid of the bad eating and shopping habits and develop good eating and shopping habits. One very important detail is to read the ingredient list. Always, read the ingredients. You must eat lots of fruits and vegetables and drink plenty of water. If you have problems with drinking water. Read,"&lt;a href="http://myhealthessentials.blogspot.com/2006/09/water-drinking-tip.html"&gt;Water Drinking Tip&lt;/a&gt;". Eating fruits and drinking water helps the digestion process and the elimination process. Which is very essential to losing weight.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You must know where to shop to get the healthy foods to buy. Try to find something that you enjoy. Walking is very easy and it doesn't cost anything to do it. It's just putting one foot in front of the other. You can't get any easier than that. However, I do think a walking machine is a very good investment especially in the winter time when it's cold outside. Yoga is a fantastic exercise. It teaches you how to breathe and you are exercising your internal organs and muscles. It really is a total body workout. Grab a friend, any activity is always more enjoyable when you have someone to do it with. Do not eat pork or any foods that has it in it. Pork is nothing but fat. It is hard to lose weight when you are eating pork which is fat. There will be days that you won't feel like eating the right things or exercising, but you must stand firm. It's okay if you fall off the band wagon but you absolutely must get back on. You cannot afford to go back to your old ways. Your health depends upon it. This is not only about your weight it's about your health too. The more recycling the community does the more rewards.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Some of the reward partners are: Bed Bath &amp; Beyond, Kiss My Face, Sears, Method, Stonyfield Farm, Kraft, Sun&amp;Earth, Target, CVS Pharmacy, Earthbound Farm Organic, Acme, Evian, Footlocker, Dick's Sporting Goods, and Petco.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is a great way to get more people to recycle. Everyone likes to earn rewards. This is something that the whole family can get involved in. However, the program is not yet available in all areas. You can fill out a form and Recycle Bank will contact you when it becomes in your area.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I know I really enjoy recycling. You have so much less trash when you do. I just hate to throw out paper, plastic, and glass. I just recycle all of it. It is really just a waste. We can't continue down the road of wastefulness. Do all the things that you know to do so that we can be healthy. We assume that if we get sick that the doctors or hospitals are going to do everything that they can to make us better. This is not always the case.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When one is sick the first thing that they have to do is take a look at what they are doing. Especially, what one is eating. My grandmother has been sick since February of 2008 and she is now sick again. She has diabetes and congestive heart failure. My mom went to Ohio to take care of her. She had completely changed her diet. She was cooking her meals and helping her get some exercise by having her do a little walking everyday. She was getting better. She took care of my grandmother for 2 months. She had asked my grandmother did she want to come to Michigan and stay with her. She said, "No". My mom returned home.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Since, my mom left my grandmother has been in and out of the hospital. She is now back in the hospital and my mom is back in Ohio. She wasn't doing to good and she had a small stroke. My mom was visiting with my grandmother and guess what she was drinking. Pop. Can you believe that? My mom said,"Mom you don't need to be drinking that?" That's like giving a cancer patient a cigarette. You would think the hospital would know how to feed people when they are sick. It's probably not on their priority list. My grandmother has been in and out of the hospital and the rehabilitation center. Last year I went to Ohio with my mom and sisters and we visited her at the rehabilitation center. The food they were feeding her was horrible. If you are sick no way should you be eating that kind of food. Fish sticks and a potatoe salad sandwich. Who has even heard of that?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I really do believe that it is not the agenda of the health care system to make us healthy. With all the technology they have and all the studying they have done on the body they should know by now what is healthy and what is not. No one wants to be on medication for the rest of their lives. (Well, they shouldn't want to be).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I really hope that my grandmother will get better and I do hope that she will come and stay with my mom because, that would be much better for her. Bad hair days. If you are looking for hair products that can get your hair back to the beauty you know it has than I have some products for you. They are called Sizta2Sizta. These products are absolutely fabulous.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you have a problem with split ends (like I used to) you will find that the halt breakage control control will absolutely get rid of them. Before, I started using this conditioner I was trimming my hair everytime I washed it. Since, I have been using this conditioner I haven't trimmed my hair the last couple of times I washed it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The shampoo is nice too. It doesn't have all those chemicals in it that the store bought one's have. It cleanses your hair extremely well and it is so gentle that anyone can use it. Both the shampoo and the conditioner come in super size bottles so, you don't have to worry about running out so fast.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The healthy hair oil is great. It really moisturizes your hair and it leaves your scalp tingling and feeling refreshed and smelling good. With peppermint oil, tea tree oil, lavendar oil your hair and scalp is moisturized very well. My sister's husband likes it too. After he trims his beard down he applies the healthy hair oil and it prevents him from breaking out because he has sensitive skin. My sister says she can't keep enough of it around.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I can't say enough good things about these products. All I can say is I'm glad I found them. That's why I wanted to share them with you. When they turn yellow add the chopped carrots and the split peas. Continue to saute for 10 minutes. Than add the water or chicken broth. Cover the pot. When the soup starts to boil add the salt and pepper. Like I used to be.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I would get up early in the morning to start my day, and in a few minutes, I would feel so tired I couldn't hardly sit up and I would go running back to bed.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I wanted to spend my time doing things I enjoyed and needed to do, and not sleeping my life away.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My father introduced this product to me. The majority said that they struggled the most with eating healthy. Sometimes it does take one a little while to change one's bad habits. Until, one can become strong enough to resist the foods that are not good for them they must put themselves in an environment where they can make better food choices. Eating and shopping is no different.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When you know better you have to do better. So, where can you shop to make better food and health choices?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Health food stores are a great place to shop. They are small and it's easy to find what you need and you don't get so overwhelmed. You should eat foods in your locale because they contain the cure and antidote for all the little viruses, bugs, and special bacterial strains that occur in your area. Today, we are getting food from all over the world, and we don't know what kinds of chemicals they are using to treat them or what's in them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A prime example is the salmonella problem we are now having. They don't know where the problem is coming from. That is another disadvantage of having food coming from everywhere. They don't know who is doing what.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To find out where you can buy your food locally go to: &lt;a href="http://www.localharvest.org"&gt;Local Harvest.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A way that you can tell if your food is grown locally is to look on the package and it will tell you if that fruit or vegetable is grown in your state. Randazzo's sells a lot of Michigan produce and they also have honey from there too. It's hot, humid, and everyone is trying to beat the heat. The most common ways to stay cool are: drinking lots of cold water, running the air conditioner or fan, going swimming, eating ice-cream, and sitting under a large tree for shade.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's so hot and the blazing sun is beating down everywhere you turn. How do you stay cool? What else can you do?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Wear long loose-fitting clothes. Clothes that allow your skin to breathe. When the wind blows you can really feel it. Fabrics like: silk, rayon, georgette, cotton, linen, cotton gauze are great to work or relax in. Wearing long loose-fitting clothes not only keeps you cooler longer and faster it is also a protection from germs for your skin. If you are sitting at a public bench at a store or park. You don't know how many people have sat there before you. It's hot, and people have been sweating all over the seats. You don't want other people's sweat on your skin?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Long loose-fitting clothes is a protection from the sun and germs. Your skin doesn't have to pay the price. This way you can save money too, because you won't have to buy sunscreen, because your body will be covered and not exposed to the sun.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Have a fun and safe summer! They are soft and easy to eat. They make a very nutritional snack. Before you eat dates you must remove the seed that is inside. Break with your fingers or use a knife to make a small slit in the date and remove the seed. After you remove the seed you can put your favorite spread inside.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to put butter inside his dates when he ate them. You can try that if you like.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can put cream cheese inside the date. That is hmmm good. Putting peanut butter inside the date is good too. If you like you can first put a little bit of cream cheese first and than top it off with some peanut butter. Or you can eat each separately. You might want to eat it separately first if this is your first time eating dates.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can also eat dates with your favorite nuts. An almond is a good nut to put inside because it fits perfectly. You can eat it with peanuts or pistachios too. Whichever, way you prefer. We all know that oatmeal helps lower your cholesterol. It is quick and easy to make. If you're eating it everyday or for a specific number of days you might want to come-up with some different ways to make it more flavorful. The original way to make is to add a little bit of butter and honey to it. For more nutritional value add some flaxseeds to it.(Oatmeal and flaxseeds together are very instrumental in helping with constipation.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For the tasty aspect add some fruit and nuts to your oatmeal. What are your favorite fruits and nuts to eat?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can add some raisins or craisins to your oatmeal. Sprinkling a little bit of cinnamon on top. How about adding some prunes?(Another instrumental source that will help you with constipation.)If you like banana and strawberries this too you could add. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dates in the oatmeal is also very good. Dates are very sweet and they will give your oatmeal a very great taste.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You could add some nuts such as: almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts or pecans. Whichever you prefer. I don't have anything against eating meat. Chicken is one of my favorite foods. Meat and vegetables both have nutrients our body needs. However, I believe in moderation with everything. It's good to switch things up. Next time you make or order pizza get a vegetarian one instead. What about having a vegetarian soup? Got a taste for a hamburger? Eat a meatless one. It doesn't have to be about eating meat and potatoes everyday. It can just be about eating potatoes and vegetables.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, many people are not getting enough vegetables in their diet. This is a good way to make sure you get them in. For them milk and cheese is out of the question. Even though you may not be 100% vegan you can find some recipes that will help you find recipes that are dairy-free &lt;a href="http://www.christinacooks.com"&gt;Christinacooks.com&lt;/a&gt; is an excellent website where you can find vegan(non-dairy) recipes. She also has some cookbooks you may be interested in getting. You will need self-control. The more you do it the better you will get at it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. First start with what it is you want to do or stop doing. Some examples would be: eating better, exercising, and stop smoking.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. Find out what the benefits are of eating better, exercising, and stop smoking. Than list the consequences there will be if you don't. You can do this by reading books about getting healthier. (For book recommendations look at my personal picks on my side bar.)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3.Find people who are also trying to achieve the same goals that you are. You can do this by participating in forums and groups about particular subjects.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Do 2 and 4 every single day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4.Start implenting the things you have learned.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When you are aware of the benefits or problems of something you will naturally want to get those benefits and avoid those problems. Set a date, to achieve one of your goals. When the date arrives. Don't let anything or anyone stop you from achieving it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Getting started is key. However, snacking shouldn't replace eating a good breakfast and dinner. The best time to snack is in the afternoon because it is after breakfast and before dinner.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are so many things one can snack on, but lots of it is just junk food which keeps you hungry all the time and wanting to eat more. So, what kind of snacks should you eat?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nuts are a very good source of protein and they are extremely filling. Almonds, pecans, walnuts, sunflower seeds, peanuts, pistachios, cashews, and brazil nuts are just some of the nuts that you can eat for snacks. Try to eat the nuts raw because there is more nutrients in them when you eat them that way. If you can't eat them raw right away that's okay. Pick a couple of them to eat raw and see how you like them. It may take a while to get used to because we are so used to eating them roasted. I, myself have yet to be able to eat peanuts raw. I prefer them roasted. Also, try the nut mixes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Eat fresh and dried fruit. Fresh fruit such as - strawberries, apples, oranges, pears, grapes, cantaloupe, bananas, plums, dates, watermelon, pineapples, mangos, blue berries, cherries, and grapefruit. You could even make a fruit salad.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dried fruit such as - raisins, prunes, cranberries, and bananas. You can mix the dried fruit with nuts if you like.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sesame seed sticks are a great snack too. It is one of my favorites. Popcorn is easy to make and it lasts long. You can eat it anytime. Yogurt and peanut butter ( not together) is good too.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sometimes you just want to eat a bag of chips. Here are the ones to eat: plain potatoe chips and plain corn chips. The reason I say to eat them plain is because they don't have the artificial ingredients in them that the non-plain one's do. If you go to &lt;a href="http://www.mygreenclick.com"&gt;MyGreenClick.com&lt;/a&gt; They will donate $.10 to their charity partner American Forests for every person who signs up. Try to get as many people to sign up as you can.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When I was in elementary school from grades 1,2, and 3 the school used to give us different kinds of trees to plant every year. One year I got a maple, and a walnut tree to plant. My grandfather helped me plant all of them. I really enjoyed spending that time with my grandfather. It was so nice to plant a tree and watch it grow. I used to always refer to the maple tree as my tree. Every year I would marvel at how much my tree had grown. I just loved to see it grow! I know now that they don't give trees to students anymore but I think that is a program that they should of continued to do. Even if they didn't do it every year but every other year would have been good too.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you have children or grandchildren that is something that you can do together. The whole family can get involved. I would write down they day and year you planted it and than watch it grow.
