I just discovered "food52", a website where every week a new recipe contest is held and after a year - 52 weeks - they will publish a book with all winner's recipes.

The photo by Sara Shatz and the recipe for the "Spicy Shrimps" can be found here. I'll definitely have to try some of them!

He is known as one of the greatest male dancers ever: Rudolf Nureyev. If you want to know more about his really strong personality, I recommend Collum McCann's book "Dancer". Here you can see him dancing swan erm... swine lake with Miss Piggy. Hillarious!

Of the internet. I just found two artists who collect photos on the internet and put them back together to form a new piece of art.

Penelope Umbrico collected pictures of the sun on flickr, as you can see in the image above, or photos of broken LCD TVs she found on ebay. Pretty cool, hu?

One of my favorite authors is Jonathan Safran Foer, I loved his "Everything is illuminated". His second novel was even better: "Extremely loud and incredibly close". It's about a boy (a really special boy), Oscar, whose father died in 9/11.

This stands on Oscar's business card:

He finds a hidden key and starts searching the matching lock. On his journey he meets amazing people and finds out pretty cool things.

One of the very, very few words I know in Japanese is "Niji", rainbow. I know it because my ballet teacher once stopped our class to make us look out of the window to see a rainbow. And there was a Japanese girl in my class who told us this word. She's back in Japan now and I miss her often.

Have you ever heard of Banksy?

He is an anonymous graffiti artist from Great Britain. His work is often satirical and critical.

At London Zoo, he climbed into the penguin enclosure and painted "We're bored of fish" in seven foot high letters.
At Bristol Zoo, he left the message 'I want out. This place is too cold. Keeper smells. Boring, boring, boring.' in the elephant enclosure.

He simply hung up some of his paintings in famous museums like the British Museum in London or the MOMA in New York.

How cool would it be to walk to work like every morning and to discover one of these witty pieces of art?

Another doctor, another office.

But a funny movie in the evening. A German movie about a German marrying an Italtian in Italy. I wouldn't have enjoyed it that much, if the average age of the audience hadn't been about 50. All those little comments, the "Oh"s and "Ah"s, they seem to relive the movie themselves. I don't want to make fun of over 50 years old people! But a younger audience is quiet, maybe some laughs here and there, that's it. Did you realize that, too?

I just flipped through my YouTube favorites and came up with some old videos of now amazing dancers.

Here's Diana Vishneva at 17 (1994) as Carmen. Today she's a principal both at Kirov Ballet and ABT.

Alina Cojocaru at age 15, dancing a variation from "Le Corsaire" and some weird acrobatic stuff as D'Artagnan. At the moment she's dancing with the Royal Ballet in London.

Superstar Sylvie Guillem in her early twenties rehearsing "In the middle somewhat elevated" and "Raimonda", she's magnificient!

Have you seen that the birds have already started to meet to fly south again?
The huge flocks sitting on wires or trees, taking off to fly a round in formation as if they formed one big animal. It's fascinating and a bit scary at the same time (at least if you saw the Hitchcock movie).
In Stuttgart we have many trees in our main shopping street. In the beginning of September thousands and thousands of birds are sitting in these trees. There's one special tree they particularly like, you better not walk under this one ;)

On Monday I went to the movies with a friend. We wanted to watch Ice Age 3 in 3D. When the film started we realized that it wasn't in 3D. It wasn't even Ice Age. We ended up in the wrong cinema and saw "The Hangover" :D
