Launch Celebration in Sydney

Gather your partners to come down in Sydney and witness the exciting Launch Celebration of the Chinese New Year Festival at the first night of the Festival Markets in Belmore Park.

Take a glimpse of the Chinese New Year Festival with firecrackers scaring away the previous year’s bad luck, hear again the clash of cymbals and gongs as lions and dragons dance and bend right before your eyes. This launch is a night for everyone, no tickets on fees experience the Launch at no cost. Watch the visiting performers from Chongqing in Western China, as well as all the sights, colours and flavours of the New Year Markets.

There are stalls that complement the Launch, don’t forget to bring home Chinese New Year’s products for souvenirs. Launch Celebration begins on Friday 12 February 2010 at 6:30pm, while stalls/market is open from 4:00pm till 10:00pm.

Christmas in Cooroy, Queensland

There’s plenty to see and do in Queensland, aside from its world class coastlines and awesome waters Queensland host number of events and celebrate hard to miss festivals. Some mates are just lucky to be campervanning around Queensland. One event this year’s Christmas is “A Heritage Christmas in Cooroy”, just some great and fun community event loaded with free activities and making it just a lot fit for your group or family if you are doing a vacation in Queensland.

The Lower Mill Site will be open for self guided tours and woodworking demonstrations. Heritage clothing and photographs will be on display at the Cooroy Butter Factory. What’s really fantastic are the festivities at Apex Park with free rides, face painting, food and market stalls, licensed venue, heritage displays and entertainment.

If you are yet thinking for a campervan vacation to Queensland, you can pick up your vehicle from Brisbane and start your holiday. Cooroy is one and a half drive from Brisbane. Cooroy is also a good base from which to explore the Sunshine Coast and its hinterland.

Planning a New Zealand Holiday? Great! Come on down to Waikato this Friday November 20th and enjoy three days of great music of the Whangamata Jazz Art and Blues Festival. Is this only for people who love music? No, I’m talking about fun, fair, and travel in Waikato. This event is happening November 20th – 22nd 2009.

Set in a serene bushland environment surrounded by regenerating native forest and nestled adjacent to the Wentworth River. A number of walks start at the campground and includes mines, waterfalls and extensive views of the coromandel ranges. Wentworth Valley Campground is located on Wentworth Valley Rd and distance is 1.8 km south of Whangamata.

Whangamata Jazz Art and Blues Festival will also include the opening of the Pohutukawa Festival. Live music will fill Whangamata’s main street, and a variety of other locations, throughout the weekend. The main ticketed event, with headline acts, will be held at the Whangamata Sports grounds from NOON onwards, tickets are $25 and will be available from local information centres. This November 6-8 is time for Arizona’s highest quality event for its 16th year and expercting 45,000 of people coming to experience this 2-day event. Held annually in September Festival Cairns is one of Australia’s leading regional cultural festivals.

Stardome’s The Sky Tonight

Ever wondered about things you don’t see beneath the sky? This August come to One Tree Hill Domain, Auckland Central between Tuesdays- Sundays. Join Stardome at 8pm for the Stardome’s most popular show where you’ll learn about the planets, stars and constellations that are visible in the August night sky.

Following the 40-minute tour through August’s night skies, Stardome presenters will give you some unique insights into the myths and misconceptions about the science of astronomy, space and everything in it and the space travel that has taken place to explore it.

Once you’ve heard fact separated from fiction the Stardome team will take you outside into the courtyard, and, weather permitting, spend time viewing the night sky through telescopes.
For an additional $10 on Thurs, Fri & Sat at 9.15pm, you can also view the night sky through the Edith Winstone-Blackwell Zeiss 0.5m telescope, if the night is clear. The Zeiss telescope is still one of the largest available for public viewing in New Zealand. This event is until the end of August 2009.
