A couple weeks ago we reported about Pixar’s new Up short, George and AJ and now they have a new Cars Toon, UFM: Unidentified Flying Mater.  In the short, the ever lovable Mater is telling Lightning McQueen the story about when he befriended a UFO. As always, the short is fun, inventive, and entertaining. I can not wait for Cars 2 in 2011!

What I didn’t know is that there are a lot of Direct TV partners that offer different deals. Blog Television has a Direct TV Package that is as low as $1 a day! That is pretty cool. With all of the TV that I watch, I need a good connection, with as many channels as I can get.

On my list of usual shows is Dexter with is on Showtime, True Blood and Entourage on HBO, Chuck, The Office, Heroes and Community on NBC, Dollhouse on Fox, Lost on ABC, and of course the guilty pleasures of 90210, Gossip Girl, and Melrose Place on The CW. One thing that I currently don’t have with Cable is HD programming. I’d love to see all of my favorite shows in the best way possible. Which of the Direct TV Deals would make the best gift? Personally, I’d like to get the deal with the most possible channels!

I have really been off my game lately. Not only did I miss the first two episodes of the revamped Scrubs, but I also forgot to watch/Tivo the final episode ever of Monk. Thankfully, most of the networks put their shows online, so if you miss something, you just have to wait a week or two and you can see it.

The new episode of Scrubs, introduced us to a few new faces; med students Lucy (Kerry Bishe), Drew (Michael Mosley), and Cole (Dave Franco). Lucy is taking over the narrator duties and crazy fantasies that we grew to love Zack Braff’s JD for. Denise Mahoney (Eliza Coupe), the ice cold intern from last season returns in a larger role, advising the new med students.  Donald Faison and John C. McGinley have returned full time, with Ken Jenkins and Sarah Chalke returning from time to time, and Zack Braff appearing whenever he feels like it (labeled as a regular, but only slated for around 6 episodes for the season so far… but that will likely increase). You can watch the two new episodes of Scrubs here, the series airs every Tuesday at 9pm.

Even though I haven’t watched Monk regularly in a while, I was interested in the final episodes and finding out the mystery of who killed his wife. You can watch the first part of the final Monk by clicking here, part two will be up later in the week.

I don’t know what I’d do without full episodes being online.

Tonight is the return of Ray Romano to television in TNT’s Men of a Certain Age.  The series co-stars Andre Braugher and sci-fi legend Scott Bakula.  The show focuses on three old college buddies who are now in their fifties. One of them is married, one is divorced, and the other is single, but they are all trying to figure out the same thing; what is next in life.  I was a fan of Romano’s Everyone Loves Raymond and I’m glad to see him returning to the small screen. And I absolutely love Scott Bakula, from Quantum Leap to Enterprise, and most recently as a recurring star on one of my favorite shows on television Chuck, the man can do no wrong.  While I am as far from these guy’s situation as can be, I’ll give the show a chance. Summit Entertainment, the company behind the successful but painful to watch vampire series Twilight, is working with Brad Pitt on another vampire, Dracula. The company has picked up Vlad, which focuses on Vlad the Impaler, the young brutal prince who is the man that inspired the Dracula legend. Vlad was known for impaling his victims and leaving their bodies on display.

Is is unknown whether Pitt will star as Vlad, or just produce the project along with Summit. The movie is being helmed by Anthony Mandler, a music video director.

While I hate the thought of Summit entertainment doing their take on the legend of Dracula, I have always been fascinated by the story of Vlad the Impaler. I think it is ripe for a movie, I just want to see it done right.

Before I talk about tonight’s TV, I can’t believe that yesterday I completely forgot about the return of Scrubs! Luckily, ABC puts all of the episodes online, so I should be able to catch the two new episodes later in the week.

Tonight I will not forget about the new episode of Glee. The episode’s official description: “Budget cuts mean no yearbook photo for the glee club, but Rachel is the only one upset about this. Meanwhile, Quinn tries to get into the Cheerios yearbook photo; and Will and Terri face serious problems in their relationship.”  The title of the episode is “Mattress”, so I would not be surprised if there was a big song and dance number around mattresses. The new series has continued to amaze me, with not only great music and routines, but also with interesting characters that I actually care about. The new episode airs at 9pm on FOX.

The epic sci-fi film comes out in 16 days! While I’m excited at the idea of having a new James Cameron film in theaters, I can’t seem to get excited about Avatar itself.  The trailers were good, but didn’t blow me away. On my computer screen it all looks a bit cartoony, and I haven’t seen enough to convince me otherwise. Were my expectations to high to begin with? I will be seeing this in theaters (and in 3D) on the weekend of the 18th, I just hope it surprises me.
