Dopo cinque anni, una ventina di dischi prodotti, decine di tour organizzati chiude i battenti la my honey records.
Non so dirvi se si tratta di una chiusura definitiva o temporanea, ma nei prossimi anni non ci saranno più uscite discografiche per l'etichetta dell'ape. Chiudiamo perchè in questi ultimi periodi è mancato quell'entusiasmo che aveva sempre contraddistinto le nostre produzioni. Si chiude in punta di piedi come avevamo iniziato; si chiude delusi dall'attuale situazione della musica in italia. Stanchi e disillusi preferiamo fermarci qui, consapevoli di non aver cambiato la storia della musica ma sicuri di aver realizzato dischi che hanno fatto battere forte il cuore a tante persone.
Forse ci sarà un nostro canto del cigno, una compilation in stile "Let it Bee" o un ultimo concerto (data probabile 20 settembre)
Rimarrà attivo il sito, lo shop e forse anche il myspace e gli altri social network.

Un ringraziamento speciale va a tutte le band che hanno inciso per my honey e a tutte le persone che mi hanno aiutato/supportato (sopportato?) in questo progetto:
Alessandro Paderno per il fondamentale aiuto.
Alessandro "Asso" Stefana perchè mi ha trasmesso la passione per la musica.
Fabio Benni e i Le man avec les lunettes perchè tutto è iniziato da voi e dalle vostre bellissime canzoni.

Ragnhild Hogstad Jordahl e Soda Fountain Rag perchè è sempre una gioia sentire una vostra nuova canzone.
Robert Svensson e i Mixtapes and Cellmates perchè siete tra i pochi che riescono ancora ad emozionarmi.
Giovanni Ferrario dei Micevice perchè è una persona che ha dato tantissimo alla Musica.
Simon Lancaster e i Mutt Ramon per le sue melodie e il suo humor inglese.
Tutte le band e le persone coinvolte nella splendida compilation "Let it Bee".
Enzo Baruffaldi (polaroid blog) e Lucio Pellacani per aver sempre sostenuto my honey e la buona musica.
Giuseppe Bottero e Kirsten's Postcard perchè ha delle grandi idee ed ha sempre le parole giuste.
Mireille Torri per i biscotti al miele, le torte e perchè abbiamo passato dei bellissimi momenti insieme.
Alice Salvalai e Paola Bonfardelli perchè è sempre un piacere vedervi ed avervi coinvolte in questo progetto.
Franco Spelorzi perchè è lui il vero apicoltore.

No More Honey

After five years, about twenty albums and many tours, my honey records is closing down.
I don't know if it's a definitive or temporary closing, but in the next few years there will be no album released by the bee's label.
We're closing because in the last period of time our usual enthusiasm has been lacking.
We're closing down quietly, in our tip-toes just the same way we started; We're closing disappointed with the italian music scene.
Tired and disillusioned we prefer to stop here, aware that we have not changed the history of music but sure to have realized albums that have moved so many people.
We might put out one last compilation, kind of like Let It Bee or we might organize one last big show (Sep 20th).
Our website, shop, myspace will all remain active.
Special thanks goes to all the bands that have recorded for my honey and all the people involved in the wonderful compilation "Let it bee"
Sorry If I'm forgetting a few people, remembering names has never been my strength, but I wanted to thank you all, truly. It was all beautiful but now it's over, even Pavement says so, so it must be true.

are starting a new collaboration, some good people involved in the
music business and want to help us to put "Plaskaplaskabombelibom"
record in the right channels. They like our record very much and want
to focus on it for this year (together with cake & coffee guys).

So actually we have to close the freedownload of the whole album. We
still put two songs for a free download on the website. You had a lot

Se siete di Genova probabilmente l'avevate già vista girare ai concerti, nel suo spartanissimo formato cd-r autoprodotto.
Ora eMpTV Nights, la compilation che mette insieme 13 brani (in larga parte inediti) di tutti gli artisti e i gruppi che hanno partecipato alle serate organizzate da eMpTV in collaborazione con Disorder Drama in quel del Checkmate Club di via Trebisonda, è scaricabile da tutti tramite questo blog e grazie alla gentile ospitalità degli amici di antirock.
In perfetto stile net-label avete la possibilità di scaricare l'intero file zippato o le singole tracce.

La notizia che volevo scrivere è che tornano i Jordan in Italia. E la cosa mi procura grande piacere perchè 1 sono buoni amici 2 vengono per suonare e suonare lo sanno fare veramente bene 3 perchè finalmente faranno un tour in italia vero e proprio 4 non so e 5 sono i concerti che faranno. ma 5 sono anche le persone che si infileranno in una station wagon e percorreranno l'italia. 3 sono i jordan (baptiste, adrien, thibaut) e gli altri 2? Kid ikarus e Ava Petit René. Ava Petit René parlando di se cita Bob Dylan, Coco Rosie, Édith Piaf, Casper The Friendly Ghost. Non male. E la sua musica? ironic love songs, country-reggae ballads, Chinese pop. un mix incredibile che dal vivo diventa una performance particolarissima.

Kid Ikarus si presenta cosi … "with punk rock in the heart, love of experiments in the head and precious diletantism in the fingertips". Se volete avere un'idea ecco qui il suo nuovo video

Di solito il primo settembre è una data che non piace alla gente. Le vacanze stanno per finire, ricomincia la scuola o il lavoro, le giornate si accorciano ed è per questo che alla My Honey abbiamo pensato di rendere questa data meno traumatica ma anzi un pò speciale con una doppia uscita: Jordan e Mange-Tout. Due band forse distanti tra di loro ma con una cosa in comune: la qualità!

I Jordan sono un trio post-punk parigino che dopo l'ottimo EP "Back to the gym kid!" pubblicano il loro primo album "Oh no ! we are dominos !" registrato a San Francisco con Jay Pellicci (Deerhoof, Erase Errata). Il disco suona come una bomba e dal vivo sono formidabili, non a caso hanno suonato un pò in tutta europa e son stati a lungo in tour in america ed in canada. Saranno in tour in italia dall'11 al 16 di novembre: non perdeteli! "Oh no ! we are dominos !" è una co-produzione tra due etichette: la francese Motoneige Records e l'italiana My Honey.

Mange-Tout è un duo: Germana e Nathalie, due ragazze, una di Genova e l'altra di Le Havre che si presentano con un EP dal titolo "teatime with Mr.Who". Un disco fatto di melodie d'altri tempi, di bellissime canzoni folk e pop. Dopo tanta braga finalmente una band coposta da due fanciulle che va ad aumentare le quote rosa in casa my honey... Siete pronti a bervi un tè con Mr.Who? "teatime with Mr.Who" è una co-produzione tra la genovese Marsiglia Records e la bresciana My Honey.

PLASKAPLASKABOMBELIBOM recording session started during summer 2006. Finally, October 1st, we will release our new album! We recorded, played, arranged and mixed the whole album by ourself. We worked in 3 different studios and for this reason we spent almost 2 years to record it. But we are not lazy guys so since 2006 to now we've released one cd-r, one 7" vinil and one 12", one tape and a digipack CD; we've played more than 70 gigs among Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark and Sweden.
During august you'll receive a link to download the new album (I forgot to tell you that it 'll be release in Italy, as the previous one, by My Honey Rec. e Zahr Rec.) and it would be great if you 'll talk about it!!!
In September we will flly to Norway for 3 awesome gigs, don' miss us! while in october we will start a huge tour in Italy until the end of November.
We are six on the stage, guitars, bass, drum, organ and cello ... don't miss us live!

Le Man Avec Les Lunettes/new album "PLASKAPLASKABOMBELIBOM" / tour italiano da Ottobre 08

Le registrazioni di PLASKAPLASKABOMBELIBOM sono iniziate nell'estate del 2006. Ad Ottobre 2008 finalmente pubblicheremo il nostro nuovo album. E' proprio nostro questo album perchè lo abbiamo suonato, registrato, arrangiato e (in parte) mixato da soli. Abbiamo lavorato in tre diversi studi, approfittando dei buchi nella programmazione e quindi i tempi si sono dilatati molto. Beh poi non è che siamo stati con le mani in mano, dal 2006 ad oggi abbiamo pubblicato un cd-r, un vinile 7" e uno 12", una cassetta e un Digipack CD e abbiamo fatto più di 70 concerti tra Italia, Francia, Svizzera, Germania, Danimarca e Svezia.
A breve ci sarà una piccola anticipazione di quello che sarà l'album (che in Italia uscirà, come il precedente, con una coproduzione tra My Honey Rec. e Zahr Rec.).
A settembre voleremo in Norvegia per 3 concerti imperdibili!!! e in ottobre inizieremo la promozione di PLASKAPLASKABOMBELIBOM, con formazione completa, sei persone sul palco, chitarre, basso, batteria, organo violoncello e voci!

Speciale My Honey Records su Stereonotte - Radio 1 Rai

Ciao a tutti! Qui paolo, il boss my honey... Vi scrivo per comunicarvi che sabato 12 Luglio Stereonotte, lo storico programma che da anni intrattiene i nottambuli di tutta italia, proporrà uno speciale di circa 40 minuti sulla My Honey Records, la piccola etichetta che dal 2004 continua instancabilmente a produrre miele e dischi.
Durante la puntata si ascolteranno le nostre ultime hit e verranno intervistate tre band del nostro rooster: Le man avec les lunettes, My awesome mixtape e Tiger Tiger!.
Prima delle interviste il sottoscritto presenterà brevemente l'etichetta e anticiperà le prossime uscite...
