Raavan Vs Ra.1

When you are listening to a radio and the Anchor goes Mani Ratnam's Raavan and Shah Rukh's RA 1, you will be thinking that you might have missed something. Well, no! They are 2 different movies altogether and just a "coincidence" to have had the same sounding title for theor films!

Mani Ratnam's Raavan is a modern day adaptation of the age old and popular epic Ramayanam and RA.1 is said to be a movie that is full of technological advancements and with SRK paying the lead role of a super hero and the Title actually means Random Access Version 1.

Well, Raavan or Ra.1, I will watch both! I just hope they don't get released on the same dates and the lady at the theatre don't get confused as to which ticket to issue and to whom!

Download Housefull Sajid Khan;s Muti Starrer Film starring Akshay Kumar, Ritesh Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal, Jiah Khan, Deepika Padukone and Lara Dutta. This phrase would have been all over Internet and Sajid has taken the necessary measures to avoid such a thing from happening!

Well, we all know that watching movies online has been a national and international pass time now and it is so freely available! No matter how much whining and crying the industry is going to do, the uploaders and downloaders suimply don't care.

Is this good or bad? I am not taking any stand here. All I know is that Sajid Khan takes his movies very seriously and will not keep any stones unturned to ensure that his movie gets the due respects and audience he expects!

You cannot see a more confident man than Sajid! Well, I haven't! Just read what he said to Arjum Rampal regarding his upcoming payment status. Well, you can only expect Sajid Khan to say such a thing. Sajid Khan can be seen as doing anything to create as much hype as needed for his upcoming release. I hope the movie becomes a huge success as is being said by the director and not become a passing phase where the audience bombs the film in the first friday itself!

If you haven't what was said, here goes!

Sajid had said to Arjun Rampal that his price tag would go up to 5 crore Rupees after Housefull hit the theaters!Well, I don't think even the recent Mega Mega hit movie "3 Idiots" or " My Name is Khan" had made any such claims!

But we are talking about Sajid Khan here. If not anything, we have to applaud his confidence in his movies and as far as the cast and crew and Sajid himself is convinced, the movie is set to be a blockbuster hit of the career (of the stars or for sajid, we gotta see).

If all the hype is just a hype or the movie is really that good, we have to wait and see.

IIFA this year at Sri Lanka

IIFA Awards 2010 will be held at Sri Lanka this year and IIFA ambassador Mr. Amitabh Bachan is already at the destination for matters. IIFA is a big platform and not onlyd oes it honor and complement greta acheivements in the film industry but aimes to integrate the fim industry as awhole and with other members of the society by various other involvements.

This year IIFA awards ceremony is set to be on Jun 3rd continuing to 5th. The award ceremenony will be coupled with activities such as a global business forum, friendly celebrity cricket match, a fashion event, upcoming films premiere and will also conduct a film workshop for the interested parties.

All in all, this year's IIFA is set to be a grand gala event. If you are in Sri Lanka, don't miss this.

Zara Nachke Dikha - Shilpa, Vaibhavi and Arshad Judges

Zara Nazhke Dikha will soon be aired on Sony Entertainment Television. Which used to be shown on a small scale in a different channel will now get a much wider audience as Sony now has international reach and many more tune into Sony than any other Indian Entertainment TV Channel.

Shilpa Shetty, Vaibhavi Merchant and Arshad Warsi are confirmed as judges for this event. Dance shows are awesome to watch especially when celebrities are involved. I still prefer Nach Baliye but am very eager to see what this show will bring. This will be my first time watching Zara Nach Ke Dikha. So I am very much hopeful and eagerly waiting for a good show.

Raavan Release scheduled for June - Any guesses on the date?

True to his words, Mani Ratnam has finally launched his Raavan. We saw the first look of Raavan when the trailer released and now, the wait is on for the music release and then finally for the movie to hit the theatres! I have been wanting to watch this movie, especially for the diversity with which Mani Ratnam seemed to have handled it. Even though the movie is being made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, different artists are playing completely different roles in other language. Well, that deserves a watch and I am all ready eagerly waiting for it to arrive.

Mani Ratnam has revealed that his project will be released in June. However, which date? we have to keep guessing. Not for long though!

Oscars in Chennai

US Consulate General, Chennai, Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation and the Madras Film Society will be hosting Oscar nominated movies in Chennai from 20th April 2010 to 22nd April 2010.

This is a good platform to gain audience for all the finest performances and movies that were released or nominated for Oscars this year. Not only can the films gain audinece but our Chennai friends can learn more about these international movies as well. Creating awareness, such events will help to integrate a positive response to good movies, without barriers of culture, language or color.

Actress Priyamani inaugurated this function on 20th April 2010.

Homosexuality, India and Celina Jaitley

Well, it is interesting to note that India will be holding a congregation of sorts for the gay population in India. It is a film festival and is entitled "Kashish."

Celina Jaitley, who is very much involved in the welfare of citzens of the country, has been roped in to flag off the event and this event will be four day long and will see many stars and you-know-who sorts of people attending. It is set to be a big gala event and there is no denying that the group of people who had been shunned before are now finding a place in the Indian Society.

Koffee With Karan Season 3!

If this is true, I will be so very happy! Why? Because I miss Koffee With Karan chat show terribly. I am not saying it is the best show ever but it does bring in all of my favorite stars and the topics are good as well. Special love to the rapid fire rounds!

From Karan's twitter message, it seems like he will take a call this week to have the "Koffee with Karan" Season 3 or not. I hopes he takes it in the affirmative as we all want to know more about our stars and their interpersonal relationshiops. Don;t read tha as "gossips" but read that as a fan's interest ;)

Guru Sishyan Scheduled Release May 7th 2010

The Sathyaraj - Sundar C duo will be coming to the thheatres on the 7th of May tentatively and is a much awaited movie among the masses. Especially because of two things. The old Guru Sishyan, with Prabhu-Rajnikanth duo in the lead was an exceptional hit at the box office as well as with the audience even till this day. Also, the Sathyraj-Sundar C duo is a never before seen combination and this irks the special interest. Sathyaraj is known for his comic timing and Sundar C is an ace comdey director as well. When these two come together, we can expect comic fireworks! I am all waiting for the release of Guru Sishyan so that I can take some time out to free myself of some unwanted stress by laughing them off. Guess you should take a break too.

Finally, the much awaited Raavan will be hitting the theatres soon. Since we have waited so long, we can wait a little longer. The Hindi version of Raavan trailers are already making its rounds with Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai's being featured. The Raavam trailer itself does not reveal much but was worth the watch after a long wait. The other characters are still under wraps. You can get a blink of the trailer if you seacrh on Youtube.

Paatshala released with good response

After Kaminay, Shahid was supposedely supposed to have been at the top of the charts. However, his recent release with Genelia d'zouza did not make it to the tops or neither did it shake any part of the the box office. Here comes another Shahid movie, Paatshala. Paatshala, for one is not expecting to be an instant hit or a major box office coin juggler. Released n 17th April 2010, Paatshala aims to bring a simple message across in a very subtle way.

"When it is a matter of our future, every question must be answered!"

The caption is very honest and pulls the audience, especially the parents, teachers and school children to the theatres.
