It is run by Ohio State students but isn't funded by Ohio State- go figure. We not only have to come up with a way to get people to listen but have to figure out a way to stay ALIVE! In order to do this we are currently trying to rework the whole thing. An idea was thrown around that a social site could really add hits to our site as well as potential listeners. If bands could log on and create a profile people could have access to them and their material. They can rate them based on things like performance, musicality, and appearance.<br /> The higher the overall ranking the more we play them. People can also submit bands they really like. It can also work as a instant calendar of events. If someone is looking to find a good band, concert, or event all they have to do is use the site.<br /> These are all just our basic ideas. We don’t really have a game plan yet and we are still in the process of working it all out. But the goal is to create an underground movement where pop music isn’t shoved down our throats; where people choose what music is popular because it’s good not because it is going to make some record label mega-bucks!! The battle consists of unifying everyone involved in Ohio.fm and getting them to do something for nothing. It is very hard to rely on people that aren't getting paid. It's all for the love of the game baby!! I created some forms and left them at the station and by the end of the week I'm hoping that everyone takes part in them. It is going to take a lot of work to make this station- well work. We need promotion, advertising, networking, publicity, formating- you name it.
