World Cup trophy lifted by Team India is fake

DUBAI - The ICC World Cup trophy that Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his team mates proudly lifted was a fake one, India Today magazine reported on its website.

This has never happened in the 36-year history of the cricket World Cup, the website reported.

According to the website, the real trophy valued at $130,000 was seized by the Mumbai Customs and locked in a government warehouse on its arrival from Sri Lanka after the semifinals on March 29.

Several factors are responsible for the trophy being held up in the airport, the website reported.

Under the Indian customs rule, the World Cup trophy was not eligible for exemption from import duty. A combination of mismanagement from the International Cricket Council (ICC) and intricate Indian government rules made sure that the trophy stayed locked at the airport, the website reported.

"The ICC has been insisting that the trophy which came on the flight from Colombo (after the Sri Lanka-New Zealand semi-finals on March 29) is a replica of the original World Cup trophy that is already at the Wankhede Stadium," the website quoted a customs official as saying.

"ICC officials told us that that this trophy has no commercial value as it is used for promotions only. However, when examined by a valuer, the trophy was estimated to be worth Rs 60 lakh ($135,104) or so, made of pure silver and gold. The payable customs duty is about Rs15 lakh ($33,776). If it is a replica, then does it have to be exactly of the same value as the supposed trophy?

Moreover, the ICC letter that the official was carrying said that it was the World Cup trophy. Nowhere did the letter say that it was a replica and it should be let out," the customs official saId.

The ICC, meanwhile, is desperately trying to cover up its fiasco, the website reported.

A top ICC official has said that the real trophy is never presented to the winning team and only the replica is presented to the winner, the website reported.

But photographs of Australia captains Steve Waugh (1999) and Ricky Ponting (2003, 2007) receiving the original trophy, which was instituted in 1999, prove otherwise.

The base of the original trophy has names of all the winners since 1975 engraved on it while the one presented to Dhoni had a blank black base, proving that the trophy was a fake one, the website reported.

Ashdeep invited his mother over for dinner. During the course of the meal, his mother couldn't help but notice how pretty Ashdeep's flatmate was. She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two; and this had only made her more curious. Over the course of the evening; while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between Ashdeep and his flatmate than met the eye.
Reading his mom's thoughts, Ashdeep volunteered, I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, Jeeti and I are just flatmates." About a week later, Jeeti came to Ashdeep saying, "Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the beautiful silver chutney jar.You don't suppose she took it, do you?"

BUTI GUESS THIS ONE COULD BE CALLED THE HEIGHT OF ............... WHATEVER.

Osama had actually planned this for India and asked his "Managers" to study
the same. The "Managers" carried out a real time exercise to get to the
basics of it. But, as fate would have it, the results were frustrating for
Osama.

Days before 11/Sept, Osama had frustratingly thrown a report back on his
desk after he went thru, what can be said the outcome of the exercises
carried out by their "managers". Our spl. correspondent had somehow got the
chance to steal the following extract of the report:

Sir Osama,

Assalam Waliekum. We had carried out the exercise you asked us to do so. We
had targeted Qutub Minar in Delhi and we had very easily got into 5 Indian
Airlines Planes flying from mumbai, with our guns and grenades. But the
operations could not be carried out because
of the following reasons:

1) Plane 1: Did not take off. It developed Technical Diffculties.

2) Plane 2: Surprisingly the plane, after a 5 hour delay did take off
(thanks to Allah) but had a forced landing due to fuel shortage in Jaipur.
When investigated, we learnt that both the Pilots were Sardarjis who Came
late on Duty. As such they had started the plane on the runway, stepped out
of the cockpit and stood in front of the engine fans to dry their Hair. It
consumed half of the fuel.

3) Plane 3: It took off successfully despite, the Crew being on strike. We
were about to take over the aircraft when suddenly it started descending
steeply. On investigating we learnt that both the pilots were Punjabis and
were closely related. During some friendly chat they developed some
arguments over their parental property and when the matter got intense,
they started physical fighting leaving aircraft to Allah.

4) Plane 4: We had taken over the controls of the plane without any
bloodshed. We issued cheques of Rs.5,000/- each to the pilots who agreed to
jump out leaving the plane to us. They were bargaining for more and insisted
to be paid in cash to avoid taxation. The time lost in
bargaining cost us dearly as the plane got mistakenly diverted to
Afghanisthan.Upon investigation, we found that it happened due to error on
part of control tower and radar system while flying over Punjab, controlled
by two people named Mr. Santa and Mr. Banta Singh. We had to land safely in
Kandahar to avoid a tradegy on our own soil.

5) Plane 5: We tried again. But this time by mistake we had a passanger
named Mr. Laloo Yadav on Board. We don't know how he came to know about our
plans and came straight in to the cabin. Accusing us that we were
opposition's pawns, we were simply outnumbered by his co passengers who were
supposed to be his supporters. We were thrown out of the plane and right now
writing this report from Safdurjung Hospital. The situation is worse here
and nobody cares about us.

This can happen not only in Air India, but can happen in any airlines. So be careful when ever you travel. Good luck.

This is a well organized conspiracy by Indian Immigration, Police, Customs and Air India staff with Networking at, all the Indian International Airports. Be watchful whenever you give your passport to Immigration/Customs/Air India staff. The passport can be easily tampered and can create trouble to you. Our officials have found easy way of making money from NRIs.

This is the way it works. At the time of the passenger's departure, if the passenger is not looking at the officer while he is stamping the passport, the officer very cleverly tears away one of the page from the passport. When the passenger leaves the immigration counter, the case is reported on his computer terminal with full details. Now all over India they have got full details of the passenger with Red Flag flashing on the passport number entered by the departure immigration officer. They have made their money by doing above. On arrival next time, he is interrogated. Subject to the passenger's period of stay abroad, his income and standing etc., the price to get rid of the problem is settled by the Police and Immigration people. If someone argues, his future is spoiled because there are always some innocent fellows who think the honesty is the basis of getting justice in India.

Please advise every passenger to be careful at the airport. Whenever they handover the passport to the counters of Air India, or immigration or the customs, they must be vigilant, should not remove eyes from the passport even if the officer in front tries to divert their attention.

Also, please pass this information to all friends, media men and important politicians. Every month 20-30 cases are happening all over India to rob the NRIs.

Similar case has happened with Aramco's Arifuddin. He was travelling with his family. They had six passports. They got the visa of America and decided to go via Hyderabad from Jeddah. They reached Hyderabad. Stayed about a month and left for States. When they reached States, the pages of the American visa on his wife's passport was missing. At the time of departure from Hyderabad, it was there, without which neither the airline nor the immigration allow them to leave. Whole family had to return to Hyderabad helplessly. On arrival at Bombay back, they were caught by the police and now it is over 2 months, they are running after the Police, Immigration officers and the Courts. On going into details with him, he found out the following. One cannot imagine, neither can believe, that the Indian Immigration dept can play such a nasty game to harass the innocent passengers. All the passengers travelling to & fro India via Bombay and Hyderabad must be aware of this conspiracy.

Every month 15 to 20 cases are taking place, at each mentioned Airport, of holding the passengers in the crime of tearing away the passport pages. On interviewing some of them, none of them was aware of what had happened. They don't know who, when and why tore away the pages from the middle of the passport. One can imagine the sufferings of such people at the hands of the immigration, police and the court procedures in India after that. The number of cases are increasing in the last 2-3 years. People who are arriving at the immigration, they are questioned and their passports are being held and they have to go in interrogations. Obviously, the conspiracy started about 2 to 3 years ago, now the results are coming.

An official source who did not want to disclose his name & identity said that this is a well planned conspiracy in which the Immigration dept. and the Police dept. are hand in glove. Some of the Air India counter staff too is involved in this conspiracy.

Once upon a time, there was a king who ruled a prosperous country. One day, he went for a trip to some distant areas of his country. When he was back to his palace, he complained that his feet were very painful, because it was the first time that he went for such a long trip, and the road that he went through was very rough and stony. He then ordered his people to cover every road of the entire country with leather. Definitely, this would need thousands of cows' skin, and would cost a huge amount of money.

Then one of his wise servant dared himself to tell the king, "Why do you have to spend that unnecessary amount of money ? Why don't you just cut a little piece of leather to cover your feet ?"

The king was surprised, but he later agreed to his suggestion, to make a "shoe" for himself.

hole life.

Boycott Free Pizza Delivery ...Think about this

Recently in The Times of India there was an article / advertisement about Pizza delivery Companies which guarantees you free pizza if they fail to deliver within the specified time (like 30 minutes). Have you ever wondered who pays for the free pizzas?? Well, the delivery boy is made to pay for the pizza. They are paid such low wages and the price of the pizza is deducted from their monthly wages which can amount to upto 60% in some months (It becomes difficult to run their family). To deliver the pizzas the delivery boys take high traffic risks as delivery becomes their priority. Their life and safety risks are neither looked into by the Pizza Shop Management nor the Pizza Delivery Boy himself. (They are more concerned to avoid the deduction from their salary).

If this type of exploitation is carried on in your city's pizza logistics we should stop availing the home delivery system, because to deliver our pizza one person may be risking his life. Is the life of an Indian citizen so cheap and of no value? In case he is late in delivering the pizza, we are enjoying the free pizza at the hard earned money of a poor delivery boy. Is it fair or right on our part to do it?

As a human, please think and if you feel that this is wrong, please spread the message and stop having pizzas delivered at home.

How To Use Table Manners

As soon as you are seated, place your dinner napkin on your lap. As you use it during your meal, return it to its place on your lap. At the end of the meal, place your soiled napkin next to your plate, but do not refold it.
When your place setting contains a number of utensils, the general rule of thumb is to use them in order, from the outside in. If your host or hostess has properly set the table, the flatware will be laid out to match up with each course served. Once you have used a utensil, never place it back on the table or tablecloth. As you finish each course, place the utensil on the plate or bowl, along the edge furthest from you.
Sit up straight and keep your elbows off of the table. It is not okay to lean back in your chair, slouch, or lean forward onto the table. While you should never place your elbows on the table, it is permissible to rest your wrists on the table edge between courses.
At meals that are served "family style," platters should be passed to the right, or counterclockwise.
Never chew with your mouth open or talk with food in your mouth. Take small bites so that you can swallow your food easily and maintain a pleasant dinner conversation.
Be sure to swallow your food before taking a sip of your drink.
When eating a salad, be sure to cut the lettuce and other vegetables into comfortable bite-sized servings. Never try to wrangle a large chunk of food into your mouth!
If soup is served, dip your spoon into the bowl moving away from you and then sip (not slurp!) the soup from the spoon. As the bowl nears empty, it is alright to tip it a bit away from you to get the last few spoonfuls. Never pick up your soup bowl and "drink" the remainder.
When eating a bread roll, tear off a bite at a time rather than biting into the whole roll. If you choose to butter your bread, place a small pat or two on your bread plate and then butter each individual bite-sized piece. Do not dip your bread into gravy or other sauces.
Very few foods should be eaten with your fingers. When in doubt, use your utensils or follow the lead of your hostess.
If you need something that is out of your reach (the salt shaker, for instance), politely ask someone to pass it to you. Never lean across the table to grab something.
If you drop your napkin or a utensil during your meal, lean over to pick it up only if it is within easy reach. If not, leave it be. For formal dinners, always leave it and ask the server to bring you a fresh one.
Remain seated throughout the entire meal, unless you have an emergency or become ill. If you must leave the table, be sure to excuse yourself.
Always turn off pagers and cellular phones during a meal. If you must leave your phone on because of the potential for a work or personal emergency, be sure to excuse yourself from the table before taking a call.
If you are dining in someone's home, do not sit down until your hosts do, unless they request that you do so. Never begin eating until all guests are seated and the host begins his meal.
If you get something stuck in your teeth, do not try to remove it at the table. If it is bothersome, you may excuse yourself to the washroom to remove the offending item.
Never do any personal grooming at the table. If you need to straighten your hair or freshen your lipstick, do so after the meal in the privacy of the restroom.
If you are a guest in someone's home and they choose to pray before a meal, you have two choices. Either bow your head and join in or remain quietly seated until they are finished.
Try to be open-minded about trying new foods, especially when dining in someone's home. Your hosts went to considerable effort to present you with a pleasurable dining experience; do not offend them by refusing their offerings. If you have a food allergy that would prevent you from trying something, politely explain. You can say, "It looks delicious, but unfortunately I am allergic to strawberries."
Compliment the cook. Be sure to thank your host or hostess for your meal and offer a sincere compliment on the meal. Even if you didn't particularly enjoy the food, you can certainly come up with something nice to say!
