Big Win for Bmeg Llamados Against Talk n Text in PBA Finals

I was hoping that the Bmeg team would win during their 6th game of the best of 7 games in the finals but the bmeg team failed to bring home the win on that game. So we were hoping that they would win during the finals. The game was off to a good start. You can see that both teams are really trying all they can and putting all efforts to get the big win. It is a do or die game for both teams.

Unfortunately, the big man James Yap was very well-guarded by the defense of the tropang texters, being a top player of the team. The Talk n Text team were always leading in the scorecards with their star players top hitting 3-pointers getting ahead of their game. When 4th quarter was about to finish, tropang texters were ahead with 4 points. It came to a point that Bowles, the import for Bmeg has to shoot his 2-points free throw just to make a tie and go for a game extension or else they will go home. Fortunately, Bowles was able to shot the two free-throws which is the defining moment of the game. Bowles emerged as the hero for the bmeg team. Having shot the 2 free throws enables them to extend the game for 5 minutes. This time, I have big hope that they will win because the other team have already lost some of their star players. Alapag had cramps, Donnell Harvey has been fouled out as well. So it was the right time for Bmeg llamados to really step up their game and they end up the winner. Congratulations guys. Job well done! See you in the next PBA conference.

Enrollment for Summer Classes

Schooling can be really stressful especially in graduate school. You have so many assignments and tasks to do. Aside from that, the tuition fee is kind of high. You get to pay everything so that you'll have your grade and be able to enroll the following semester.

This summer, I have already enrolled my subjects and I was able to see my grades last semester. I am really satisfied with my grades. It is not very high but it is more than what I have expected and my professor has a very high standards so I surmised I'll get a low grade which turns out to be the opposite.

I am also thankful that matriculation fee this summer is comparably lower than the semestral classes because of the shorter time. Miscellaneous fees are lower resulting to a lower overall fee.

I am concerned with the schedule of our class because it is very heavy and hopefully, I will get through it. This time, I'm bracing for the summer classes.

Getting Back on Track on my Financial Life

I mentioned this many times in my blog that I really wanted to be financially independent, that I want to be financially free so that I don't need to work so hard just to put food on the table. I want to spend more time with family and be able to provide good life and put food on the table without having to work full-time.

I am blessed to have encountered a person whom I casually talk about social issues and we were able to talk about the things Bo Sanchez tells in his books. I am a huge fan of Bo Sanchez and I really like his inspirational messages in the Kerygma magazine. I also read his books especially on Financial literacy.

When I have mentioned about Bo Sanchez and how I am very much interested to put into application what I learned from his books, this colleague volunteered herself to be my "coach" saying she is actually a member of Bo's "Truly Rich Club". She explained to me yesterday some steps to achieving financial freedom and it was very enriching.

As I evaluate myself, I am actually on the first level yet towards financial freedom. I'm in the process of eliminating debt and after that, I will save up for an emergency fund. Thankfully, I'm almost done with paying a huge debt which me and my hubby have incurred when our daughter underwent an operation. We are just starting our family and our small savings were not enough to cover her medical expenses so we resorted to loan.

Hopefully, I'll be able to climb up the ladder towards financial freedom and achieve my goals in life.

February 25 is a Holiday

I am very happy that this coming February 25 is a holiday. I am supposed to have class in my masters and since it's a holiday, we will have no classes. Really great because I will have time to relax.

I am very busy lately that having this holiday is such a luxury already. Although this is not any effect for public or government employees because they really don't have work on Saturdays.

February 25 is very meaningful for the Filipino people because of the EDSA revolution. In spite of that peaceful event, Philippines remain marred with corruption, poverty, instability. Hopefully, the Filipino people will learn from the past and will rise from the clutches of the social issues and concerns that it is facing now. God bless the Philippines.

Popular singer Katy Perry held her concert in Manila, at Mall of Asia grounds last January 22, 2011. It is a part of her concert tour, having made her tour in Europe, Australia and America.

As part of the show, Katy announced that whoever takes off his shirt first on stage will get a kiss from her. Luckily, Ivan made Katy kissed him and it was a long kiss. Many get envy of Ivan for the kiss. It was indeed a dream come true for him and really an unforgettable experience.

There were many stars also who witnessed the concert including KC Concepcion, Isabelle Daza, Vice Ganda, Raymond Gutierrez and others.

We are not Chinese but we follow some customs by the Chinese people. Thankfully, January 23 is declared a holiday by the President so it was indeed a treat because we are able to rest.haha. A simple joy of a regular office worker like me.

We had tikoy for our dinner. Tikoy is believed to foster good family ties because it is sticky and will make the family closer to each other, not to mention sweeter which is a characteristic of a tikoy. I made a lot of cleaning yesterday because I was not able to clean the house the other day due to bouts of dysmenorrhea.

It was indeed a restful and fruitful day for me. I hope everyone is having a great day.

The Renato Corona Impeachment Trial

I actually have not followed about this whole impeachment thing and I have no background on what's the ground for impeachment. I only get to see a bit of the news when I'm home while I am busy doing household chores.

I have seen on TV yesterday the first salvo of the impeachment of the Chief Justice Renato Corona. I admire the brilliance of retired Chief Justice Cuevas who acts as the chairman of the defense panel for Corona. He first question regarding the due process of the verification of the impeachment case to which Senator Enrile junked.

The defense panel for Corona speaks very serious and professional while the prosecutor, Representative Neil Tupas speaks with charisma and I believe he gained the public who is hungry for change.

The articles of impeachment include the alleged ill-gotten wealth by Corona, having 45 real estate consisting of posh condo units, the World Bank loan misuse, betrayal of public trust, favoring Mrs. Arroyo, being his former boss and the one appointed him as Chief justice.

I personally fed up with the impeachment thing. Starting from former president Estrada, then to Arroyo and now the chief justice. I feel it's just a cycle and it's such a waste of time and Philippine resources. I just hope the Filipino leaders and those in public service learn to uphold integrity and be honest in the discharge of their respective duties.

Hopefully, something good will come out of this impeachment trial and the Filipinos will learn from the past. Long live the Philippines.

Goodbye to 2011 and welcome 2012. The year 2011 has been a trying year for me since I have a falling out with a friend. On the other hand, it also brought so much blessings and I have been grateful about it.

It brought me a lot of realizations and had my paradigm shifts. It also somehow brought me lots of realizations and there is simply nothing permanent in this world.

I hope the year 2012 will be kind. According to MIL, 2012 is a good year for those born in the year of the horse and I am one so hopefully, luck will be on my side. I hope I can accomplish all the things I needed to comply and hopefully, next year I'll be able to graduate from my masters.

I always pray for good health more than financial wealth. Health for me is priceless and hopefully, all of us in the family remain healthy.

Excited for Vacation

Working people like me always long for vacations and one of the most awaited is Christmas time. Few days are left before Christmas eve and people are already very busy for it. So many Christmas parties to attend, so busy buying gifts and very excited for the incoming activities.

This year, my family is the host for our family reunion so we'll have to prepare the program, the food and everything needed on the event. The longing to see once more my relatives is something I look forward to.

We'll have a two-week vacation and thought of being able to rest and enjoy Christmas makes me really excited. That's all for now.

Research

My first term subject is research. There are a lot of works involved in it because we are asked by our professor to do reporting. We also have to produce a thesis of our own. It is a group thesis and we need to do a lot of research.

Doing a group work should have been easy because it lightens the workload. But in our case, getting in touch, communicating, coordinating is hard since all of us are working and we have our own concerns.

New Baby

I have not been able to update this blog for a long time now but I'll compensate it:). I just got really busy with setting up my new blog. It is now my new baby. I still have a lot of things to do with this blog. Developing content takes time so I hope I can fill in all the pages I have made that don't have content yet.

I'm also a newbie in wordpress. It's my first time to have a self-hosted blog in my own domain in wordpress and I'm loving the wordpress platform a lot. Although I still have to explore some functions and tricks but overall, I'm satisfied with it and my new baby - Davao Information Site is now the apple of my eye. I think it will remain so for a number of months yet because I'm still developing it.

It's a Long Weekend

It's a Saturday and my work is only half day. I'm loving the long holidays. Monday is a holiday and Nov. 1 & 2 are holidays as well in connection with the Halloween. I love to to the maximum. haha.

I'm planning to go to my hometown either on the first or second of November to visit and say a prayer to my late father's tomb. I have also to work on my new website that I planned to set up. I'm gonna buy a hosting for it and I'm excited to explore and learn on how to go about it.

Happy Birthday to my Little One

Tomorrow is my daughter's birthday. She will turn 3. Wow, time really flies very fast. It just like yesterday that I've given birth to her. Now, she's becoming a big girl and very smart. When hubby tell her something, she knows how to reason out.

I'm happy that she's really learning fast as well. She knows how to identify some of the letters in the alphabet, identify shapes, some of the common colors and she speaks really well except for some letters that she has difficulty pronouncing.

Tomorrow, we'll celebrate Keona's birthday with a family lunch. For her birthday, my wish is that she'll be healthy, she'll grow into a good girl with right values.

What's Wrong with Unionbank Customer Service Support

I have mentioned about the expiration of my Unionbank user ID and password and I can't access my online account. I already went to Unionbank and inquire regarding the status of my online account. The clerk there dialed the phone and I have talked to their customer service support for EON card. Everything she asked me had been answered already and she told me that my account will be activated after 1 to 2 business days. It's been almost one week already and I cannot access yet my account.

This is a lesson for me. I should have a transaction within 6 months of my card in order for it to remain accessible online. According to the customer service support, the online enrollment for EON will be deactivated if there is no transaction after 6 months and it' been quite long already since my last transaction with my account that's why it is deactivated. Arrgh.

I hope it will be reactivated soon. I need to monitor my transactions online.

Feeling Tired

I am not feeling very well. I lack sleep due to Keona's fever that I need to administer medications on her. I feel sleepy and groggy. We had a check-up yesterday and little girl had to take antibiotic for her cough. I hope her fever will go away the soonest, because if it will not, we'll have to undergo her with x-ray which I dislike. Hopefully, the oral antibiotic will work on her.

Keona's birthday will be on the 29th and I hope she will be in a good condition at that time. We plan to have a simple family dinner and have her photograph in the studio. She has always a picture on her birthdays.

Off for a Check-up

My little one is having a fever since Friday. I called up her pediatrician and asked about the dosage of her paracetamol. We were supposed to have a check-up last Saturday but Keona's fever was gone. But it went back and her cough is becoming severe. Last night, she's been vomiting and we need to have a check-up today. I think she needs antibiotic for her cough.

I'm having a problem with her appetite. She doesn't want to eat rice and even her milk, she drinks very little. I hope everything's going well with her soon because she'll celebrate her birthday soon.

Exploring the World of Wordpress

As I have mentioned in my earlier posts, a good friend of mine shared her hosting with me so I am able to have a feel of what it is to have a self-hosted blog in wordpress. I am enjoying very much with the opportunity to explore wordpress.

I have a plan of setting up a comprehensive travel guide and as of the moment, I'm trying things out on how it works. If I already know the technical aspect of this project, I'll buy a hosting for myself and go with this project. As of the moment, I'm still testing and exploring the waters. Can't Access my EON Online Account

I have transferred funds from my paypal account to my EON account because I need the funds . When I logged in to my online account to check if the funds are already available, I can't access it. It says my user ID has already expired. I tried accessing it again but it says my ID is invalid. I feel disgusted.

I'm gonna go to Unionbank to have this problem fixed. I hope my funds are safe because I badly needed it.

I tried researching online and I learned there are also those having the same problem with mine. I tried contacting their hotline but it's always busy last night.

I hope everything gets fixed soon.

Last Durian for Now in 2011

I'm a Durian lover, especially in the month on September and October where Durian is abundant. I would always buy one, once I receive my salary. Durian cost around 35 to 40 pesos per kilo when its abundant. But just last Saturday when me and Hubby went to buy one, it already cost 50 per kilo!! whoaa, I ask the vendor he said the supply for Durian is few already that's why the price is getting higher again.

Even though it is 50 pesos per kilo I decided to still buy two, because this will be my last Durian for this year hahahahaha. Can't wait for September next year when the Durian is abundant again.

Excited for Semestral Break

Research Paper

I'm currently busy doing my research paper. We have only one last meeting with our statistics teacher and it's time for us to pass everything he required for our subject-exercises, exam and research paper. I'm done with the exercises. My exam is also almost done.

My problem now is my research paper. I'm still looking for a a sub-problem to which I can apply the theory of statistical measurements that's being discussed in our class. I have two more days left before the deadline. I hope I can do everything or else I will have no grade in this subject. Wish me luck :).

Final Days in School

First semester is already ending and it's been a roller coaster ride for me in the graduate school. I'm very happy that finally, the first semester is gonna end soon. It's a milestone for me as a student.LOLz

I have a lot of things to do though. I have to answer my bring home exams (thanks God it's bring home, hehe). I also need to finish my research work. Everything will have to be passed on 15th of Octoer. I also need to settle my remaining accounts to get my examination permit. Whew, student's life can be demanding but it can be rewarding as well.

Loving the Wordpress Platform

I've long been wanting to use wordpress on my blogs but I have no budget for hosting. I tried using the free version of wordpress but I got disappointed because I can't do anything since I am not allowed to customize it. There are so many limitations being in a free wordpress platform.

Recently, a generous friend of mine, Kathy, who is an admin of the site Wordpress Unite asked me if I have difficulties in wordpress because I can just shoot any question on this newly launched site of her. I honestly told her that I don't update anymore my wordpress blog due to various reasons and to my pleasant surprise, she offered me a share of her hosting since it has a very big capacity. I went to her right away and had my account set up. I'm very happy because now, I can already explore what it is to have a hosted site and I'm currently learning the ins and outs of wordpress. I'm discovering a lot of things about wordpress and I realized I am missing a lot for not using it.

I want to have my own hosting in the future and I have a dream in mind, a dream of setting up a comprehensive travel guide and hopefully it will become a success. As of the moment, I have to learn a lot of things yet:).

Relationships

Relationships we have, may it be with our spouse, children, in-laws, friends, co-workers, and others is very important. It needs to be maintained and nurtured. It can be likened to a plant that needs cultivation and watering on a regular basis or else it will soon wither and eventually die.

I rarely talk about this thing here because it's kinda make me emotional because I myself have little relationship problems with friends. I also am a witness of some relationships of couples that crushed for some reasons and I can see the difficulty and the wounded-ness it brings to the children who are the ones very much affected with the "going-ons" in their parent's lives.

Sometimes, individual differences make friction in every relationship but if there is love, everything will be settled. Love makes a person accept the other person and makes him become tolerant of whatever shortcomings the other person has.
