Hey there,
As you may have been aware, i have had the Bump Free Formula program closed a little over a year now. This program helped many KP sufferers like yourself reduce their KP.

Due to limited spaces, and limited time needed to help these people go through the program i had no choice but to close the program. By doing so, this allowed me to give the one on one attention that each KP sufferer required to get the results they were looking for.

During this time i have received countless emails, comments and Facebook messages demanding i reopen the program to help them with their KP.

Through my initial experience with the program, and having everyone go through it successfully I have now come up with a better solution to help as many people as possible.

To find out how, please watch the video below!

Take a good hard look at your diet – and ask yourself, “Is my diet doing my skin any favours?”

There are only two ways your skin can receive the nutrition it needs to build healthy skin and that is either through your diet or through supplementation.

Ideally, you should always try and get the most nutrition out of your diet first. Only look at supplements if you are either severely deficient in certain vitamins/minerals or you’re unable to receive them from your diet e.g. you are vegetarian and you don’t eat fish causing you to be deficient in omega 3.

I know many of you may underestimate how important diet plays in treating Keratosis Pilaris from the inside out but in reality it should be one of the first steps on your journey to clearer, smoother skin!

In this video I talk about the importance of diet in treating Keratosis Pilaris, and some tips on making those first steps to eating healthier.

Unfortunately zinc deficiency can be more common than you think and you could be zinc deficient without even knowing it! What’s worse is your dietary or lifestyle habits could be making your zinc deficiency worse impacting your skin greatly.

Zinc is not just essential for wound healing and repairing your skin, it is also used in more than 300 different vital function processors in your body. It sure is one important mineral!

Zinc is a trace mineral that is essential for healthy skin function – no matter what skin condition you have. If this trace mineral is missing in your diet, or you are deficient in anyway. It can greatly impact the health of your skin.

So How Does It Relate To Keratosis Pilaris?

Zinc is really important for absorbing, transporting and metabolizing vitamin A. Vitamin A plays a key role in proper keratinisation of the epidermis. So if you are deficient in zinc, it may be impeding your absorption of vitamin A.

Zinc Deficiency may be associated with:

White spots on nails

Poor immunity

Poor wound healing

Poor taste/smell

Low stomach acid

Acne

Loss of appetite

How To Know For Sure

Simply go to a health food store or Naturopath who can give you a zinc tally taste which is a simple taste test that will determine your zinc status.

What if I am deficient in Zinc?

Increase zinc rich foods in your diet on a daily basis, and take a zinc supplement that is easily absorbed by the body and recommended by a Naturopath.

Many women have found pregnancy to be a big contributing factor to their Keratosis Pilaris. In some it causes Keratosis Pilaris to worsen, during or after pregnancy whilst others find their Keratosis Pilaris magically clears up during or after pregnancy.

So why is it that pregnancy can help some women but in others make it worse?

This is what I’ve discovered when talking to Mum’s with Keratosis Pilaris.

Why It Gets Better

During pregnancy, many women eat a lot healthier than they usually would since they have a baby to look after. This means no alcohol, no drugs, no caffeine, lots of vegetables and fruit, plus a pregnancy multi vitamin and or usually an essential fatty acid supplement to help with the baby’s brain and eye development

Some women even take it one step further and begin to eat organic foods that are free of pesticides, herbicides and chemicals. They also try to eat a whole foods diet, which means avoiding unprocessed foods and aiming for foods that are ‘whole’ meaning closest to nature as possible without added preservatives, refined sugars and additives.

All of these dietary changes not only assist with a healthy growing baby, but they also assist with a overall healthier body for the mother and of course nutrients for healthier skin. The toxic over load on the liver is reduced, and ultimately the elimination organs begin to function better because the diet is full filling the bodies needs.

Why It Gets Worse

Some women during pregnancy don’t tend to go as far as what I’ve mentioned above, and instead tend to give in more to their cravings. Though sometimes these cravings can be healthy like red meat for iron if the woman is vegetarian, often more than not pregnant women crave ‘sweet’ foods.

So sweet foods can mean more of the not so healthy foods – ice cream and chocolate for example which are highly processed, contain added refined sugar and may even be a food trigger for Keratosis Pilaris if their sensitive to dairy. These cravings may also indicate a need for more Calcium in the diet which should of course be full filled.

Woman during pregnancy that don’t begin to eat healthier than their original life style before pregnancy and don’t take a multi-vitamin can end up depleting their body of essential nutrients. This is because the baby comes first during pregnancy, as it’s needs for nutrition are much more important for the healthy development of the foetus than the mother.

As a result, the mother can end up suffering nutritionally because she isn’t supplying enough nutrition for the baby and her self.

Not only will her body be depleted and will be out crying for help, usually the skin will be the first organ to suffer as it is the least important organ (and the largest) for essential nutrients.

This can lead to Keratosis Pilaris if she was predisposed to it prior to pregnancy causing it to worsen.

Are You A Mother That Has Found Your Keratosis Pilaris To Worsen or Get Better During Pregnancy/Child Birth?

If you are, I would love to hear from you.

Since Keratosis Pilaris can often be a very confusing skin condition with little information, I would like to take this opportunity to collect data in regards to Keratosis Pilaris and pregnancy/child birth.

If you would like to contribute to the collection of this information so that we can help find common factors to make treating Keratosis Pilaris easier, please fill out the questionnaire below:

Thanks so much for taking the time out to complete the questionnaire. If you entered your email, you will receive information in regards to pregnancy and Keratosis Pilaris treatment options once enough information is collected.

Feel free to leave a comment to begin a discussion on pregnancy and Keratosis Pilaris.

When my Keratosis Pilaris was at its worse (before I treated it naturally) I noticed that my Keratosis Pilaris ALWAYS worsened during Winter and I always wondered why.

Many of you will also notice that your Keratosis Pilaris worsens during Winter too. This can be really frustrating because after Winter, warmer days are just around the corner which means baring your skin that has significantly gotten worse.

I used to think the reason why my skin worsened during Winter was just because it’s colder and the environment was drying out my skin which was making my Keratosis Pilaris worsen.

But all year round I would always exfoliate and moisturise my whole body no matter what, and this definitely didn’t change during Winter. My skin never looked dry because of the amount of moisturiser I used twice a day even during Winter.

And my skin still continued to worsen in Winter no matter what.

So now knowing what I know now, I know why my skin REALLY worsened during Winter and here are the REAL reasons:

1. During Winter, instead of being outside and being active I instead traded this in for DVD nights on weekends which always included junk food binges.

Now these were no ordinary junk food binges, it involved me and each one of my friends buying a variety of lollies, chocolate, chips, pizza, coke, popcorn, and icecream every weekend in one night! Usually the coffee table was overloaded with yummy, sugary foods that I could devour myself into.

2. When it’s cold the last thing I felt like doing was eating anything cold – which mean’t no salads and not much fresh fruit (well there’s not many exciting fruits available during Winter compared to Summer anyway!).

3. I no longer had my great summer tan, instead my skin was nice and white which meant my Keratosis Pilaris stood out a lot more.

4. I didn’t drink much water, instead i enjoyed soft drink more and more!

As you can see, my lifestyle and diet completely changes during Winter to quite an unhealthy one at that! If I had controlled this a lot better, my Keratosis Pilaris wouldn’t have exploded each year during the colder months.

Does your Keratosis Pilaris get worse during the Winter months?

Write a comment in the box below if there is anything that you do differently in Winter that might be making your Keratosis Pilaris worse.
