Well time do flies..like a speeding bullet. It's been a while since my last post. I was busy doing......something..or nothing...i guess. Which is pathetic.

I know it's a bit late in the wishing department. But it's never too late..

So here wishing you all a Gong Xi Fa Cai. May you all have a wonderful, productive, healthy & a prosperous year ahead.

♥ My Simple Dinner.

I was really lazy to cook last night. Tired and headache. So instead of cooking 2 dishes, i just cooked one. I just added more stuff in it. My Mother-In-law was okay with it.

It was a simple dinner and i combine few veggies and fish cakes.

Tomato, Cabbages (sliced), French Beans, Fish Cakes (sliced) and garlic and shallots.


Combine water,oyster sauce, salt & pepper, soy sauce and cornflour to make the sauce.

Saute the garlic and shallots. Add salt and pepper.

Add in the sliced fish cake. Cook a for a few minutes.

Add in the french beans and cook for a few minutes.

After that add in the cabbages. Stir and cook for a few minutes.

I like to add in a some soup (whatever soup i'm having). It makes the dish taste nicer...for me lah.

Stir it around for a few minutes.

Then add in the sauce mixture and let it cook for a few minute over medium flame.

Serve with white rice. Simple, easy and yummy.

♥ Vivid & Scary Dream

Few weeks ago, i had a dream. It was very vivid and i can remember every details. It was crazy. Never had a dream like that before. A natural disaster dream. I had a zombie apocalypse dream once and it was awesome. I got to kick some zombie butts. I was super strong too....okay,getting out of topic here.

Back to doom dream. There was an emergency broadcast on one of the Astro channel and the next thing i knew was that i was standing on this hill with my family and i saw my cousin's husband and kids and Mum but not my cousin. There were other people there too. Water...sea water covering every inch of the neighborhood. Water as far as the eyes can see.
I remember not carrying anything. We were up there with only the cloths on out back. I looked at my kids and i was scared for them. I was so scared for them that i woke up sweating. Panic set in..and i don't know for what. It was crazy.

Since this dream..I've downloaded Earthquake app on my iPhone and been checking up on anything natural disasters related news. That's when i realized that we are getting more EQ above 5.0 mag these few years, especially this year. Flooding everywhere. Countries sinking (Thailand,Vietnam,Philippines). Sun behaving badly. Comet/asteroid doom.YU55 passed us by on Nov 11th..thank God..I saw it on live stream. There was a lot of hoo haa on this asteroid. I saw it on live stream. Tiny dot..and fast..but nonetheless, awesome.

I'm not a 'doomer' but i am getting a bit paranoid and I'm want to be prepared for the sake of my Kids. If anything do happen, i don't want to be up there on the hill without bug out bags.

Anyway, i found this video on You tube..about natural disasters and weird things that happened this year (2011) . Something to ponder about.

♥ Egg Fried Rice.

You know when i'm too lazy to cook dinner, i will cook egg fried rice. It's easy and healthy. Just throw whatever you have in the fridge and walla..yummy fried rice. All you need are these two important ingredients - eggs and steamed plain rice (refrigerated).

This is how i cooked my egg fried rice. Easy to cook and prep time is around 5 minutes. Cooking is about 10 minutes.

These are the ingredients i normally use so feel free to add yours or your own preferred ingredients.

- Cooked rice ( refrigerated )
- Fish Cake ( sliced )
- Carrot (thinly sliced)
- Cabbage (thinly sliced)
- Button mushroom ( sliced )
- 3 eggs ( beaten and seasoned with salt and pepper)
- 1 Shallot
- Garlic ( i don't cut my garlic since i don't want to accidently eat them. )
- Cooking Oil

1.   Make scrambled eggs. I usually take out the cooked scrambled eggs and put aside.
Yeah..you can see my style of cooking a bit different.

2. On the same wok, add a couple of spoon of vegetable oil. Wait til hot enough.
      On medium heat flame.

3.   Saute shallots and garlic for few minutes.

4.   Add the fish cake, slice carrots, cut mushrooms and stir for a few minutes.
      Then add the cabbages. Cook for a few minutes or so.

5. Then add the rice. Cook over medium heat or high flame. Your choice.

6.   Add the fried scrambled eggs to fried rice and stir and mix it around.

7. Add a spoon of soy sauce and season with salt and pepper. Stir fired for another few minutes
     and you're done.

Easy and delicious. Enjoy :-)

♥ Empire Gallery Shopping Mall Explosion

Wow..not everyday you can see something like this. This Mall is just around 15 mins from my house. Opposite Empire is Subang Parade Shopping Mall ( my fave place to hang out ). My Daughter have piano class every Saturday at Subang Parade.

Luckily it happened around 3am. Imagine if it happened during peak hours especially weekends. Just scary. Read that it was due to gas leaked but it's not confirmed and still under investigation.
I hope those were injured recover soon and hopefully no life lost.

♥ My Dream House ( If I win the Jackpot )

Everyone have their own dream house. My dream house is not a mansion, bungalow or a palace. Mine is simple, small and surrounded by tress, flowers and ponds. Something small, airy and not cluttered. Something like a traditional Japanese house.

If i win the jackpot, i'll buy a land and build a house that look something like this :-)

I love the simplicity of the designs from homemydesign. It's beautiful. Now i just need to win that damn jackpot!

The house may look huge in these pictures but make them smaller and that would be my dream house.

Virus Be Gone!

What a weekend. On Saturday, my Son got sick. He was vomiting, fever and on top of it all, diarrhea. He doesn't want to wear diaper but thankfully he let me put toilet paper in his underwear. When he sleep, he kept 'leaking' from you know where.This happened 3 to 4 times that night so i kept changing the cover while Hubby cleaned him up. He is young..he doesn't understand and doesn't realized that he's 'leaking'.
I didn't sleep well. I kept waking up every hour to check on him.

We were thinking of taking him to the Doctor on Sunday but the Doctor's office were closed and my Son seem okay and active. So i thought that's the end of it but it continued at night. So Monday, off to the Doctor. Well he prescribed medicines for vomiting, diarrhea and some kind of powder for treating dehydration. He still doesn't have appetite to eat but he's getting better. But this morning, my Daughter vomited...sigh..again..off to the Doctor.

♥ Lunch Time!

Anyone who knows me know that i dislike cooking and i hate the whole process of preparing stuff to cook. It's just tedious.I love to eat though. But the ironic thing is, family and friends said my cooking is quite yummy. Even my Mother-In-Law preferred my cooking than Hubby's. Okay enough of my cooking skill :-)
Hubby usually does all the cooking (and the cleaning up after..blessed him). But it was much easier when it was only two of us. We can eat whatever time we want. Lunch at 2pm and dinner perhaps at 9pm. Something like that. The time was never consistent.

Now with kids, breakfast, lunch and dinner have to be prepared at a certain time. Consistent time. My daughter is up for anything but my Son is a bit picky with his food. At the moment he like hard boil eggs.

Today's lunch, i prepared these for them.

The chicken wings i marinated with Masterfoods All Purpose Seasoning for a few hours and when it time to cook i coated them slightly with a mixture of All Purpose Flour + All Purpose Seasoning. No eggs involve in this process ;-) My Kids loves them. They also like the eat Nutriplus Cheese Chicken Frank - the hotdogs. We're out of eggs so no hard boil eggs today.

Dinner will be slightly different.They'll have the same soup since i've prepared it for lunch & dinner. So i'll just cook them fish and eggs.

As for my dinner..Hubby will tapau (takeout) for me :-)

♥ Cupcakes Galore!

You know what, i'm not fond of cupcakes. I think they're too sweet and sometimes they're all taste the same with the exceptions of chocolate cupcakes. One can never have enough chocolate in anything.
I don't remember cupcakes being so famous as it is now. I mean they are everywhere! Even the conventional birthday cake being replaced with cupcakes in cute transparent containers. I do understand the logic to that. Just arrange the cupcakes as you like on a cupcake stand and put candles on top and serve the cupcakes in their own container around. Guest can either eat it right there or take away. It's not messy and no need for paper plates.

The different between cupcakes back then and now is the decorations. I mean i remembered cupcakes with simple different color icing and just top it with sprinkles of anything. But now most cupcakes are like the work of art..gosh, i don't know whether to eat it or put in in the glass cabinet for display.

OMG!! I stumbled upon this amazing website. Before i go any further..check out the genius of Jamie Beck & Kevin Burg creations below. I'm in awe. They called it Cinemagraph.

Cool yah? These are not videos mind you but photographs. Moving photos...nope..more like photographs that come to life. Amazing stuff these. It would be nice to have one hanging in my living room. A huge frame in the middle of the room. Something like the last picture. Sure it will give my Mother-In-Law a fright but heck..it's art.

Insidious

I was watching this movie the other day..Insidious. Sounds creepy.
I was watching it on my iPad..in the dark. In my bed...alone. My mistake because i was really creep out by this movie. There are few scenes that really made me jump off my pretty little butt.

Mainly the whole movie is about astral projection. The ability to leave your physical body when you sleep. Below excerpt from http://www.lucidcrossroads.co.uk will give you a better understanding about Astral Projection.

1. Astral Projection is merely a very high lucid dream that feels like you have left your body (this is the explanation favored by classical science). Reports of near death experiences do seem to challenge this view point but it is assumed that information must be being gathered in other more conventional ways. He AP himself almost every night. One day while AP, he traveled a bit further than he usually did and got lost, unable to find his way home. So with his soul gone,he left an empty vessel behind. A physical body without a soul. Well let's just say that an empty human vessel will attract lot of souls that needs a new home. And it was first come first serve basis. Won't go into details about the spirits here. You have to watch the movie.

Long story short..Dad AP with the help of a psychic and two nerdy looking men to find & rescue his lost son from a very dark and scary place. Dad found son and manage to get home..that's the ending you ask? Urghhh..the ending is so stupid! I mean Dad and Son managed to get back home but Dad asked son to find his own physical body..i mean what gives? They're been chased by some scary looking demon dude with red face and he let his son go off just like that? Any Dad will make sure his son's soul reach his physical body. But nope..not this dad. So Dad got stuck in demon world while some hag possessed his yummy body.

I've given out too much? He he..just the ending & the main plot but hey there are plenty of details i've left out. Like the color of the psychic's hair :-)

I would love to experience AP but i'm too much of a coward after watching this movie. I read that in your AP state, you can visit a lot of place..would love to see Comet Elenin up-close (Speaking of Elenin..nahh..she needs her own post). That would be so cool.

♥ I Want An Aquarium!

The other day we went to Ikea to buy some housewares. Didn't get to buy anything because too many people and when there are too many people in one place, i get dizzy..not good for me but good for my purse. All i want to do was to get the hell out of that place.

So we went to this pet store and goodness, the aquariums are so pretty. Well maintained and the fishes are so cute.I was thinking about having one at home but given all my fishes died under my care although i practically showered them with love and food, i don't think it's a good idea.

Perhaps when the kids a bit older..sigh

♥ Long Holidays

What a great week! Here in Malaysia, the Muslims are celebrating Hari Raya and at the same time on the 31st August is our Hari Merdeka. That means Tuesday until Thursday are public holidays. Tuesday and Wednesday are Hari Raya holidays and Thursday is a replacement day for our Independence day which falls on 2nd day of Hari Raya. Phewww...hope i get that right.

Anyway we decided to stay at home. Spending quality times with kids. And taking them to the mall. There was this new Jusco shopping mall at Bukit Tinggi. It's huge and it would be my new hang out if only it was a bit smaller. I like my mall smaller because i'm not the shopping type. I like bookstore, craft store and Guardian pharmacy so i'm happy if these three are in the same floor..or better - side by side. So Subang Parade will remain my all time favorite shopping mall.

All we did was eat out. I think i gained a few kgs these few days..sigh. I didn't buy anything and this mall don't have any craft store. Me not like.
