I’ve got several emails about your confusion with Cascade Cotton Rich yarn. Thank you so much for letting me know.

First. Cascade has two weights of Cotton Rich yarn:

Cascade Cotton Rich (80 yd/1.75 oz)
Cascade Cotton Rich DK (135.6 yd/1.75 oz). This one is used for Fluffy Clouds Blanket.

And yeah, it’s really expensive yarn, even if such lovely for baby blankets. But the good news is that I’ve recently discovered Omega Trigo yarn, which is about the same quality and yardage (a bit thinner), and has pretty affordable price – $5.50 for 3.5 oz (100 g) or $5.22 if buy 5 skeins all one color. Could we ask for more?

You will need 6 balls of Trigo to make the Fluffy Clouds Blanket (total costs $33) and this place is the best one to buy this yarn (amazing custom service and SUPER fast shipping).

And oh yes, you are right, my Silverlace and latest Hugs of Love blankets made with same Trigo yarn. I truly happy that found this one! :o))

Oh my, look what I’ve spotted in our local park (during “photo shooting” Hugs of Love blanket) – my most favorite flowers!!

First of all, my apologies, for the delay with the winner(s) announcement! It’s was a challenge to decide on name of this dress-tunic, and since I’ve received so many amazing and lovely suggestions, to be honest, I was a bit lost ;o)

I am still in love with Flamenco, Carmelita, Fiesta, Red Sunset, Hot summer nights and many-many other such amazing ideas, and I would love to work on each theme if I’ll get a chance! But for this particular dress-tunic, and with a model (blonde girl with blue eyes) in mind, I think “Summer in Scarlet” or simply “Scarlet” suits the best!!

So, let me introduce…

Thursday’s Moments | Pixie & a Fly

Do you still remember this my “Thursday’s Moments” category? ;o)

I’ve played with my new baby yesterday and must admit that this lens is not only just amazing for sport video/photos (rhythmic gymnastic for our part), nature and portraiture, but also a “solution” and ability to take the pictures of our little chihuahua dog. Our Pixie hates to be pictured (…as well as I do lol), but at 200mm it works just perfect. Not to mention that I was able to see what grabbed Pixie’s attention just after uploaded the photograph. So, we’ve got a story in the image, which is about a dog and a fly ;)

Sneak Peek & Contest Time!!

While Kristin and I are waiting for matches shoes and accessories we ordered recently to model this dress tunic, I decided to take some sneak peek and offer you a little contest ;o)

This dress tunic made with my newest favorite Omega’s #5 Cotton yarn in such unusual for me red color – if you know, I’m not a big fun of red, but I really like red for this style. The dress/tunic crocheted in one piece (read: NO sewing work at all … well, except buttons ;o) and features Hi-Lo skirt, made in different patterns and crocheted in one piece too. I really would love to write this pattern as soon as possible, but it will be a bit a challenge even if this one is pretty easy to crochet (if get all math correctly, and before you start to work on this design :) So, I can’t give even approx. dates when this pattern may be released, but I’ll keep you updated for sure.

And now let’s go for a CONTEST…

I’m always so excited to discover MANY MANY AWESOME things and means in ANY other languages possible, which can be translated/spelled to everyone!! AND, please keep in mind… this tunic/dress will be also looks JUST great in white/black/turquoise/you-name-it-color, or ANY color-combo you can think of!!

*** UPDATE #2 I’ve got several questions – where is front of this dress tunic and what are measurements for this one. Well, front is buttoned and shorter one (first & second pictures ;o) And measurements for sample shown above made in girl’s size 10: chest (loose fit) – 27” (69 cm); bodice (front length): 5.5” (14 cm); bodice (back longest length): 9.5” (24 cm); adjustable straps (approx. – they are still need to adjust): 4.5”(11.5 cm); skirt (front length): 8.5” (22 cm); skirt (back length): 9.5” (24 cm). I’ll do my best to catch Kristin in between her all scheduled play dates/sleep overs with BFF (she has and enjoys Spring break now) and take some pictures to show you how this tunic looks in person …even with current available shoes and her favorite jeans ;o)

I’ve just finished summer project with Omega #5 Cotton and must admit that I’ve got an absolute new favorite yarn to work with!! I really have no idea how I’ve “existed” without Omega’s yarn, seriously! ;o)

This cotton has exceptional quality, texture and durability and just perfect for summer & spring crochet projects. Each ball is 1.76 oz 164 yards and comes in 21 colors (I wish Omega would have more colors).

Fiber Content: 100% cotton
Yardage: 1.76 oz (50 g)/164 yd (150 m)
Gauge: 26 sts = 4” (10 cm) with US #3 (3 mm) knitting needles; C/2 2.75 mm crochet hook
