Greetings Little Maltesers! Just a little update on all the puppies here...

Henry (above & below) is now about 7 weeks old and doing wonderful!! His family has come to visit him a few times already and they are so excited to take him home at the end of the month!! Check out our Facebook page to see pictures of their visit! It is always so fun to meet our adopters and get to know everyone and call them family! Little Henry is quite the tiny character, he is constantly making us giggle! In a couple weeks he'll go in to meet Dr Wilson for his physical and micro chip. Henry is already a pro at potty pad training. He is a little smarty pants, lol. Here are some pictures I just took of Henry on his 7 week mark! Enjoy!

And Kitty's boys are also doing wonderful! They are now 5 weeks old! One boy is sold to the Cope family and one is still available!! The Cope's came to visit their puppy and it was such a pleasant visit! (See pics on Facebook) Their little guy is such a charmer! He has a chunky little face you can hardly resist! He likes to try to get up on his hind legs like a little bear! It is soooo cute! I'm still trying to get that on photo/video!! Like Henry, Kitty's puppies are also using their puppy pads! I am so proud of how well all these puppies are using their puppy pads already!

And last but not least, our available little guy! He is such a sweetie!! He is using his puppy pads like a champ already! He is a little cuddle bug! He is a little more petite than his brother. Anyone interested in adopting this cutie can visit our website and fill out an adoption form.

Kitty's Baby Boys!

Ha-ha, I forgot to post in my blog that Kitty had her puppies!! OOoops! So sorry! It can get a little overwhelming keeping up with all the different social media sites, emails etc.. But with no further delay!!!!.. Yes, Kitty did have herself two baby boys on 8.26.16!! Two cute as a button boys!! Hopefully you all follow us on our Facebook because it's my go-to, number ONE place to update on all the happenings! So if you do follow, you already know that, along with Henry, these two boys are taking over our hearts! One and a half weeks old now, they don't quite have those peepers all the way open yet but should soon.

Most of the people on our waiting list are still waiting for girls, so I do have one male puppy from Kitty's litter that is unclaimed as of this moment. One person on my waiting list has claimed one of these boys and will pick him out in a few weeks when she comes to visit. After that, whichever one is left will be available. If you have been wanting a puppy, waist no time, contact me before he is gone! It's not very often we have a puppy available after birth, lol.

Both boys are beautiful and as of right now, look almost identical. One has a little bit more of a baby face/shorter nose.

Kitty and Gracie have been more than happy to help each other with all the puppies together in one playpen. This made me so happy. I didn't want Gracie's one boy to feel alone, he needed someone to cuddle with.

He has the cutest little face and such innocence about him. A big three weeks old now! He spends most of his time toddling about and day dreaming about his new family! Welcome to the world Henry!

Gracie and Watson welcomed a healthy little male to the world on Monday, August 15th around 10:23 a.m. He is the only puppy in the litter and is sold to the Summers Family. They have named him Henry and are so excited to add him to their family! He is a darling!

We are expecting a litter from Kitty as well, probably in a week or so. So to all who are on the waiting list, sit tight, more puppies are coming soon! I am hoping Gracie's small litter doesn't push anyone back to getting a puppy next year instead, but it may very well be. We have many people wanting females, including ourselves. But we will keep you all posted.

Just Some Updates

Greetings Maltese lovers! I thought it was about time I get into my blog and give an update! I forget that not all people probably follow us on Facebook, and that's where I do most of my updating.

Anyway, I hope everyone had a lovely Independence Day! We took the weekend to just relax and play with our dogs. Now that our kids are grown, we don't get into the run around of festivities much anymore, and our dogs aren't fond of fireworks.

HOPE ...

First of all, let me tell you all that little Hope is doing great! Other than she is fixing to get a baby tooth pulled, all is good in her world. I talk to her mommy often. I am happy in the thoughts that she is being so pampered and loved, but I must say that it has been agonizing trying to get to a place of contentment without her here. I miss her horribly. I cried like a traumatized baby the night she left and still feel a black hole in my heart. But, I know it was in her best interest to find a new home and so in that I keep it together. It is amazing how this breed can latch onto our soul. Maltese are nothing short of precious!!!!

PUPPY NEWS ...

In other news, we are hoping to expect puppies from Gracie X Watson and also Kitty & Pippy, both in August. If all "took", we should be swimming in cuteness in no time! As Kitty will be retiring soon, and in order for us to continue breeding, we will be keeping any breeding quality females, one or two that Kitty might have. And also maybe one from Gracie, we'll see. So we are not taking any more deposits on puppies for these two litters. We will however take deposits if people don't mind waiting for the next puppy season.

AWESOME DISHES ... Another tidbit I wanted to mention is that I had blogged about that little portable pet bowl set a while back and I wanted to let you all know that I did get it and love it! I have been using it whenever someone goes to work with me or just traveling. It is so cute and functional. Pippy came with me to the office this last week, you can see the bowl set in the background.

And what the heck! This thing is on sale now cheaper than when I got mine!! It's regularly $69.99, I think I paid $25.something, and now it's $20.97! So I have attached my link if you want to check it out. I love mine! If you want to be as cool as me and Pippy, you should probably order one (wink-wink).

A Home For Hope...

Little Hope has gone to live with her new Mama, Stacy!

I can't even begin to tell you how hard it was to watch little Hope leave. I had anxiety and was sick to my stomach watching her go, but I knew in my heart that a more calm and 1-on-1 home was in her best interest for the long run. I think many people are a little shocked that we adopted her out, please know this was not easily decided... you see, Hope's condition requires her to stay as calm as possible and avoid being startled. She has spasms in her neck and when she gets over stimulated her condition worsens. Hope is sensitive to noise and quite fragile. In the raising of a bunch of Maltese, our home is quite rambunctious and noisy. Hope often got startled by all the barking and would run off in a panic. And separating her from the others was agonizing to her. So we tried to leave them all together, but then she often would get trompled by the bigger dogs who wanted to play. I spent as much time with Hope as I could, and as much as I would have loved to keep Hope here coddled in my arms, my other Maltese demand a lot of attention and work. And with puppy season coming soon again and with us keeping back more females soon, we decided that Hope would benefit from a new home. Things were just too stimulating here.

It was a blessing that I got a chance to raise and work with Hope. She brought me so much happiness, as all Maltese do. It was a miracle to watch her go from totally disabled to almost normal in just a few months. She will always hold a place in my heart. I'm sure it's going to take us a while to get over the separation from her. Raising puppies is so rewarding in seeing the wonderful homes and happy faces on adoption day, but can also be tough love when you get too attached. And it never fails, I get attached to every one of them! Especially ones like Hope. It was a hard thing letting Hope go, but know that we found a wonderful home for her. Her new mom, Stacy, is retired and plans to spend all her time with Hope. And Hope is not alone, but has a new elderly Maltese sister to keep her company. She is very laid back, and calm. Hope will have company and not get too over worked. We felt this home was a good match for Hope. And the atmosphere may even help her condition improve. If it isn't working out with Hope, she is to be returned to us, but we believe these two will become best friends.

Stacy says she felt very blessed to be picked as Hope's new mom....

Hope Update

Hello everyone! ...
I wanted to let you all know that we have decided that we will allow Hope to be adopted. Anyone interested is welcome to submit an adoption form on our website. This decision has not come lightly and is a very difficult one. But, with the raising of so many Maltese and the soon coming puppy season, we have decided that it may be in her best interest to have someone's undivided attention. She is so deserving of a home that will make her their world and spend all their time with her. If nobody comes forward wanting her, she will stay here loved and pampered as usual, but we want to give her a chance to a dedicated owner/family.

Hope is a darling. I just can't express how loving she is. She loves to cuddle and give kisses. If and when she goes, I will miss her dearly. She is very tiny, only being just over 2 pounds. I don't expect her to get very big if she gets any bigger at all.

As you all know, she was born with cerebellitis, which we have gotten under control with medicine.

She will require her medicine daily, possibly for life. A new owner would be required to keep her on her medicine, which cost around $13 to refill (at our veterinarian anyway.) Other than that, Hope leads a pretty normal life. She still has a little wobble to her step, but she gets around just fine. She is a happy little baby. So last week I posted a picture for "Heart In Diamond" and what I wrote did not show up for some crazy reason, so I am trying again LOL. I wanted to share this with you because I thought it was so amazing. Hope Update

In case you haven't been following her on Facebook, here is a little update on Hope...

She is doing great! She has gone from zero to sixty in no time flat! As you know, she could not even walk before due to the inflammation she has in her cerebellum, a condition which likely will have to be managed her whole life. The cause of her condition remains unknown, but what we do know is that Hope is a strong little lady! She is now walking, hopping, and even running! I would say 90% of her wobbling has seized in the past couple weeks, she is pretty steady on her feet if she isn't tired. She picked up a toy and played with it for the first time in her life last week. And she has been playing ever since. I would say that is a sign of a happy puppy! Her current medicine dosage along with her supplements seem to be doing her very good. We are thankful for how far she has come! Our hopes for her to have at least a semi normal life have come true!

Hope got her first hair cut the other day and she is feeling like a million bucks! She actually didn't even mind the clipper. She loves baths, being combed, and cuddling. She is an amazing little sweetheart!! She has certainly stolen our hearts. She has stayed tiny, only 2 pounds right now. I don't expect her to get over 3.

We have had many inquiries on whether or not we will adopt Hope out, which we haven't decided for sure, but for now she will be staying with us. If we decide to adopt her out in the near future, it will be to just the right home, without children, and preferably to someone with experience with special needs pets. But we know she would bring an enormous amount of love to the right person looking to dedicate their heart to such a precious baby as Hope. So, we will just see.

Hope & Cooper 7 Weeks cute!

Hope and Cooper are 7 weeks old!! They are growing so fast and they are so comical! Hope has her own feisty little attitude and Cooper's personality is adorable! You'll find Cooper venturing about and trying to do everything the big dogs do! When all is said and done, he is snuggled in with his sister. He is always looking after her, bringing her toys, and I think he even attempted to bring her the food dish. (See this adorable video on our Facebook!)

In case you missed the video on Facebook, Hope is toddling!! She is improving everyday. My husband spends all his extra time exercising her legs. She is walking a little more everyday. We still have to hand feed her for safety, as she still has spasms in her neck, but she is coming right along. She see's Dr Wilson in the morning (Tuesday) for her next check-up. We'll weigh her in and adjust her medicine dosage. If you haven't already, be sure to check out our Facebook to see Hope's first steps on video! Hope & Cooper

Sorry I have not posted in my blog for a while, I have been terribly busy with life and in the caring of our little Hope.

HOPE

In case you are not on our Facebook and have no idea what is going on, Hope is the female puppy born in Kitty's last litter. We had originally planned to keep Hope back for a future mom here, but she started showing signs of being behind in her motor control. We suspected that she possibly had something wrong within her. During birth she was in the birthing canal longer than normal and so we had hoped she didn't suffer from any damage from that. When time came for her to be walking and she didn't walk, we were very concerned.

Hope would move her feet and army crawl, but would not stand, walk, or even hold her head up. We took her in to see Dr. Wilson for some tests. Our fears were confirmed at the Vet office in that little Hope was suffering from Cerebellitis, inflammation of the cerebellum. Dr Wilson prescribed her some steroids which she will be on for at least 6 months, which should reduce the inflammation. Dr Wilson said he hoped she would be walking soon thereafter.

So far Hope has responded some, in which she now will sit up and even try to get to her feet, but she is not walking just yet. We are praying for a full recovery for little Hope. Meanwhile, she is a full time job. As she can't get around on her own and has spasms in her neck. We have to hand feed her food and water through out the day. And her bedding is changed about 6 times a day. We also have her on supplements to help her immune system and over-all health. Dr Wilson said the cause of her condition is unknown. We are not ruling out possible birthing difficulties, but I guess this condition is known to happen among white dogs. Whatever the reason, we are prepared to do whatever is possible to keep her comfortable and try to get her walking.

Hope is a very sweet loving puppy. She has quickly stolen the hearts of us and others. Other than her inability to walk, she is a normal little girl with big dreams of chasing rabbits someday! Hope will remain a part of our family. It has not been decided if she will be available as a special needs puppy in the future, but may be possible if the right person comes along.

COOPER

Cooper is a darling little guy!! He is so attentive to his little sister and makes sure to cuddle and play with her whenever she squeaks. Little Cooper likes to explore and is sure to tug my pajama pants as soon as I get up in the morning.

Cooper's Mama came to visit him and Hope. She spent the afternoon meeting the crew and loving on her new baby! He will go home with her in about 4 more weeks.

Gracie's puppies are 9 weeks old!

Gigi, Nash, and Katie will be going in to meet our Veterinarian on Monday to get their check-ups, microchips, and health certificates. We'll get in our hugs and kisses this week because next weekend everyone is heading to their new homes. Everybody is weaned naturally by their mom and eating hard and wet food. Now that they are getting pushed away by their mother, they are looking for someone to bond to. That's why we like to get these guys in their homes at just the right time.

Pippy's Announcement

Pippy has an announcement he would like to make...

"uhhummm.. I have two new babies! They are cute like me and I am very proud"

Kitty & Pippy had two beautiful babies 2/21/16! One female & one male.

Her delivery went well and she and her puppies are doing great!

The female is staying with Little Maltese and the male is sold.

Gracie's puppies are 8 weeks old!!

Everyone is doing great! Gracie has weaned them and they are eating dry and wet food.

We are still working on potty pad training but all is coming along nicely.

Next Monday everyone gets to go in and meet Dr. Wilson for their puppy physical!

They will get a thorough examination and get micro chipped for their safety.

In a couple weeks they will be home bound. Sniff, sniff.

We had a busy weekend with Ms. Kitty having her puppies so I didn't get any big 8 week photos taken of these guys. But I did get some photo's while they had a much needed bath! Enjoy!

7 Week Puppy Update!

Happy Valentine weekend everybody!!

Puppies are another week older and I am loving them to the moon and back!!

We are seven weeks old now and cute as can be! So here is what's new:

~Hair is growing longer.

~Potty habits are improving.

~Nursing less, eating more wet food. Not too sure about this kibble stuff.

~Got our nails clipped. (With a magnifying glass, lol)

~Overwhelmed with hugs and kisses!

I have a busy weekend so I took pictures a day early.

What better way to enjoy Valentines weekend than with some cute puppy pictures to make you all warm and fuzzy inside....

And last but not least, one more of Katy.. I took one picture with a common object so you can get an idea of size. It's hard to tell in pictures how little they are.

6 Week Puppy Update

Gracie's puppies are 6 weeks old! Little babies are growing up so fast!!

UPDATES:

~They have started to potty on the puppy pads but it's still a work in progress.

~They are eating wet food in addition to their nursing. We will let Mom wean them as she feels fit.

Puppies are usually done weaning between 8-9 weeks.

~Teething is among us and as soon as we have plenty of little teeth in we will introduce some hard kibble.

This litter may stay with us a little longer than usual, we'll see. Gigi and Nash have had to have honey because of low blood sugar. Maltese are prone to hypoglycemia and spurts of over playing and excitement can effect their sugar levels. Maltese puppies go through a big growth spurt up until 12 weeks so this is a big time to watch for this. These guys are so very little. But no worries, this is all normal stuff when raising Maltese puppies.

According to the weight chart we are looking at about 4 to 4.5 pounds full grown, but the charts are not completely accurate. I estimate it to be more like 3.5 to 4 pounds.
