In these pivoting times sharing my thought on how business and industries will change in the next three to five years time.

Information for free will be over and will have to pay for relevant search results. An early sign of these are visible as prominent sites have started to create content for paid users
In the expectation of free information at the fingertip, humans who overlook the importance of updating the skills will perish.
Poverty will be redefined from lack of money to lack of information. Starvation for food will give its seat to starvation for timely relevant information.
Humans will need to work on improving the brain capacity to match the Artificial Intelligence to survive
Philosophy will be a key area of study like computer and data science in the millennium. It will be a key differentiator for Artificial Intelligent systems which will have moral values
Feature phones will get a tip over smartphones due to their data security. 45% of Indians still use the feature phones
E-commerce will move towards more secure systems like short messages(SMS)
3D printing will hit mainstream and people will buy royalty of design and print the product themselves or outsourced manufacturing of a new dimension will thrive
Implantable devices will gain popularity and knowledge implants will be in most demand
The transporter will be the mode of transport. This mode converts the object into dematerialization and beams into the target location where it is rematerialized.
The human skill trading market will be formally operational like a capital market where the skills will have a valuation which investors will be behind
Geographical countries will dissolve and platform countries will emerge with its own currency (like Libra for FB)
Epidemiology will have to now more considerate of animals along with humans when they study diseases. This concept is called One Health.
Defence will move away from being guarded by people to being guarded by strong cybersecurity systems. Human soldiers will not be required as physical war will lose its prominence
The countries defense budget will move from weapons to cybersecurity tools
Average life expectancy will decrease as humans will be more obsolete much faster. Even if the natural death will diminish, a rise in forced deaths will decrease the life expectancy
Experience economy will pave way for the age of reckoning
Electoral voting will become digital backed by blockchain technology and more frequent elections will happen as the cost will come down
Government authorities will have a poll system to choose the most accepted choice for major decisions
Civil unrest backed by technology will be on a rise due to access to information across the world at the finger tip.

Some of these will be hard to digest but as said changes are the only constant and it is inevitable.

Luxury Industry - necessary evil

Luxury industry meets the needs beyond the basic necessity. People who has excess money has a way to spend and people who do not have money has a motivation to make money. While this is not so destructive in the developed countries, this has a profound impact on the developing countries forcing people to indulge in corruption and unethical practises.

People in developing countries are tempted to possess things beyond the basic needs due to the glitter shown by the products and service catered by these so called luxury industry. Imagine a world where you cannot spend beyond a limit and your motivation to make "more and more money" will eventually fade.

Pandemic or Panicdemic

COVID-19 renounced as a pandemic is actually a "panic-demic". In order to save lives, livelihood was compromised.

A flue which otherwise would have passed by even without noticing got its attention when few videos which were identified as people in Wuhan walking through the street like Zombies and falling unconsciously on the street. These images caught people's attention but were taken over by media as priority news. Recently it is unscientifically proved that news travels faster than light and COVID became prime time debate topic.

Statistics show that the world mortality rate in 2019 is 150,000 per day of which 100,000 die of age-related causes. Compare this to the Covid-19 cases and it is below par. Due to the panic actions, the cause of death for the majority of the cases are not identified as no post-mortem was not done for these cases. Though the virus was detected in the body most of the death was caused due to comorbidity.

Health care in developed countries are expensive and people try to avoid doctor visit and hospitalization due to the high cost which resulted in such mortality rate.

When hospitals are packed with COVID cases, cases that need intensive attention were ignored or unable to attend due to the volume cases which resulted in the mortality rate.

Lack of vitamin-D in the body also resulted in the escalation of the virus in the body. Vitamin-D normally high in tropical countries due to the availability of sunlight.

The virus will stay for a while until vaccination is developed. Till then almost everyone will get it infected but might not show symptoms or will get used to it as a normal flue.

The aftermath of this panic-demic is an economic downturn, total reset of the system, and thought processes. Ailing businesses use it as an excuse to close down. Companies in order to improve bottom-line use the opportunity to downsize without hampering the corporate image.
Expatriates return to the home country and will undergo reskilling to find a livelihood.

The world need to wait and see how it evolves into the year 2021 but certainly, for Avenger fans it is like Thanos hit a reset button to save the planet.

Huge Backlogs

Every time I visit library and scan through the books my list sporadically increase. When can I finish all those exciting books? Genious excite me. Their works inspire me. Their existence amuses me. I wish my name in the list one day and I can inspire another person like me in the generation to come.

I wish I could channelize all the exciting thoughts that make goosebumps, to be stacked and finished one by one. But my list is growing at a rate faster than I could complete already listed ones. Confused where to start and at the same time wonder if I would ever finish whatever I have in mind.

Pile of thoughts can end up in confused state than lack of thoughts. I can confidently describe this state as I often be in either of these states. I struggle to find a midpoint to retain the balance. Pouring all these thoughts on a sheet of paper can be relief than a drop of water to an utter thirsty.

Some visuals excite me, a book, a pen or pencil, blank paper, small scribbling pad, pile of documents. I wish I could gulp all of them to digest at once. I have a huge backlog of exciting things to do. I am not a genious to mark my words but someday someone will unearth and immortalize me.

Preample of India

Preamble of India states that India is a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, Democratic and Republic country.

We indeed live by the rules and have some good examples.

Socialist Country: Decent amount (by numbers, 8 million in Facebook alone), of Indians has signed up in facebook and Orkut and they love to socialise. No other forms of socialism exist, so we can use this to prove that we are socialist.

Secular Country: Indians needs to mandatorly fill in religion column in forms for basic education to health care.

Sovereign Country: Self proclaimed soverign's can only survive in India.

Democratic Country:Indians can accurately predict the outcome of general elections even before electoral has started using a technique called moalboocap, pronounced as mo-al-boo-cap (money+alcohol+booth capture).

Republic country: India treats notorious cold blooded criminals at par with tax paying citizens, so we are genuine replublic.

Being an Indian I am not very proud about these but unfortunately the truth speaks for itself.

My new cycle is a "bicycle"

I bought a cycle. Anything new coming to my life needs to go through an induction. My cycle also underwent induction. Four grilling hours, in which I went through the process and procedure to be followed in my life. Do's and Dont's, wants and needs, straights and curves. I expected my cycle to comply with me by end of the induction.

I set my expectation and objectives for it. My cycle should take me from point A to point B. Should stop when I say and move when I instruct. I may change my plan at anytime, but you need to blindly follow. I do not want any questions especially if I cannot answer them. Yes, absolutely no questions to be asked though I may encourage you to ask questions.

I set extended objectives to my cycle, when needed you need to be flexible enough to be on triwheels.I will take my party friends, yes all of them, in my cycle and you need to move even if you cannot bear the load. I will rally with Ferrari, you need to catch up, no excuses. Do not compare apple with oranges, so you too don't.

I may or may not oil you periodically but do not set that as a constraint, I expect you to self motivate and oil yourself. I would like you to take additional load and go extra mile to prove your worth. I cannot afford a navigator so I expect you to look up the sky and self navigate. No!!!! I do not want you to ask any questions.

I expect you to be innovative and move out of the box. I will pedal only when I like and when I find time, but you need to reach point B whenever I want. No!!! No questions asked.

Life cycle and bicycle has similarities but think positively and proactively and learn the best practices of life cycle. Earn respect by burning yourself respect, that's what I expect from you the two wheeled bicycle.

You can start today itself and take my body to the best restaurant. Let it be your first assignment. No!!! No questions asked. I don't care how you go or how you find out way to the restaurant but I need to there in 10 minutes which is only 22 miles away. So scale up on day one and prove to yourself that you are a price catch.

Oh!!!! Shit my cycle broke down. Production failure at the first minute of deployment, these bicycle companies need to improve their technology and capacity. Did the cycle understand whatever I said.............?

Interpretation - An art of survival

Interpretation is an art of survival. Things get interpreted in different ways by different people. These are based on individual's circumstances and are mostly a matter of survival.

Classic example of half glass of water can interprested in two ways. A person who drank water a while a ago and not thirsty will look at the empty portion and to him it is half empty. But a person who is thirsty and looking for a drop to quench thirst will see only the water in the glass ignoring the empty space which is of no interest to him.

Mostly used as a tool of survival in corporate world. Things gets interpreted to owns advantage leaving behind the truth.

Made a mistake which is soon realised, interpert it and explain that it is not a mistake and the correct thing to do and become Mr. Right. Unforunately there are and will buyers for it.

Dan Ariely in his book ”Predictably Irrational” describes about his experiments with humans irrational behavior against perception of rational behavior. In his book he challenges the conventional economic theories which assumes humans are rational. I could agree with Dan on his conclusions and finding in the context of my personal experience and observations. I now realise my reason for challenge in understanding the supply-demand curve when I attempted to study economics since it was indigestable when I tried to understand with rational mind.

I have my own perspective to add to this theory. Humans are inseparable from his emotions and this plays big role in human thinking and decision process which is described in Chapter 5 of Dan’s book. Additions to Dan’s finding, other emotions than arousal will factor in during the process. When we are angry or sad or frustrated our reactions differ to the same situations. So is asked to take decision in relaxed and calm mind which I choose to disagree. Being in relaxed and calm mind does not guarantee we are in rational mode. So what is rational mode.

Rational mode are peculiar state of mind in which mind can come out of relativity and think absolute. This can be called state of “Nirvana” or “Salvation”. Very few can achieve or attain this state.

Atmospheric temperature has two dimensions. Actual and Feel like temperature. Actual temperature is the atmospheric temperature measured using thermometer and feel like is the temperature we humans feel based on humidity and wind along with other factors. Likewise majority of humans think they are rational but under the influence of emotions they become what I name as ”EmoRats”. This is coined from Emotionally Rationals.

People lived on earth who overcame the influence of emotions on rationality. Jesus Christ, Buddha, Gandhi are the prominent among them. Can we achieve this?. Answer would be yes but with consistent practise and focused living this state is attainable. Till then be prepared to be addressed yourselves as “EmoRats”.

Birthday Wish

I got a very unique birthday wish when I completed 33 years in life. "Congratulations for completing 33 years and for gaining all the experience that you could in life". It is very unique one as I have not got any such wish earlier in my life. All the wished I heard so far were for the prosperous future.

"The way to get motivated is to look at how far you have come than how far you need to go - Hugh Prather" Wish from my friend was in line with these golden words which eventually triggered my thought process.

It makes sense to take stock of yourself once a year. Your hits and misses as an individual. Analyze what made your year and what not. This wish has helped me to retrospect.

Hugh also noted in his memoir "I spend more time analyzing life than living it". I couldn't believe how much more I need to agree with his words. After all life is at its peak when you have a well balanced mind and body.

As I prepare for my next year in life, these words and wishes will be my torch.

I am happy and blessed to get such a wish from one of my beloved friend. I couldn't thank you anymore. As I retrospect, hope my experience in life be of some help to all my good friends.

Visual Media - Rewriting known truths

Many people believe that penetration of television and other visual media has spoiled this generation of people. It has some facts but more fiction. Television is the biggest revolution of mankind, in terms of impact on society, if I may say it.

The ability to transmit moving image across the word for people to see and believe. If light can travel faster than sound, so do the moving image we see travel faster into the brain and take its place before what we hear. So in this sense visuals media influence people like never before. But at the same time the facts which influence the people through these visual media are not the creation of media itself.

Crimes, Exploitation, harassment, corruption are all as old as mankind. But the difference is earlier these activities were not known beyond a certain boundaries but now the visuals as transmitted across the word for people to believe. So media has only exposed the existence of these to the world.

Existence of duality, everything has two sides. People at the same time exploit the potential of the media and show things which should not be shown at all. Politicians show up the scripted acts, reality shows which encashed the human emotions exploit the greed, need for fame and money.

I myself has immensely benefitted from this visual media. Followed them in a positive which helped me to get a picture of places I have never visited, understood the science and technology of human created machines an designs which I have never seen in naked eyes.

Also been exposed to news of human marries animals and sexual relationship between father and daughter which I wouldn't have noticed or remember if read in paper but still alive in memory as seen the news in moving visuals.

You read and you understand but you see and you feel. Visual media helps you to "feel" the information and any feeling needs to be handled with discretion.

Abused Words - Optimism and Confidence

Most abused words are optimism and confidence and often used to cover up the realistic scenarios.

Whenever you short fall to succeed, these two words will come in the discussion as a motivation and encouragement factor to show the path to success. But does this get you the result you are looking for.

Why don't we be optimistic and go to a funeral by thinking the dead man will walk? Why don't we feel confident that we can jump from tall tower without a glider? Obviously it is not possible because they are not realistic and not being less confident or optimistic.

So the missing letter is being "realistically" optimistic and "realistically" confident.

Self introspection is the key word for success which I heard from many. So i decided to do so without a clue on how to proceed.

I stood in front of a mirror to looking at my face. "I am Rahul. I am a consultant at street consultancy. I am married to Shoma, a homemaker. My daughter is 3 yrs old. I am living with my parents close to relatives in the financial jungle".

I felt it is incomplete. It talks about what I am but not who I am.

Okay let me give a try again. I am a moderate intelligent, educated, well earning, happy but complaining. Typical one who has other side greener attitude. Yes, better now.

Thought hovered around various events and dialogues. " you are a ruthless, selfish bastard" preethy's voice echoed. It missmatched my introspection results.

Hey did i go wrong somewhere. Where....

I picked up the phone dialled my buddy. " Hey Thejus.....its Rahul" told him about the introspective initiative.

"Rahul, when did bhabi gave you these titles..recollect the event."

"Thejus I guess it was when I told her about my plan to buy a new mobile..but I dropped as she shoutted"

"gottcha...did you deny babhi's shopping request"

"yar couple of days back spend 5000 for her churidhar"..I heard a symphothetic blew from other side. “any other rejection.."

"Shoma wanted to gift a mobile to her bro which i said will give later"

"Rahul, at least now do you want to buy my argument”. He always proclaims “ Everyone are selfish and looks only for themselves. But some are so good that it pretends to be for others benefit” I recollected. " That's exactly a cosmic law and is the reason why in flight they instruct to help yourself before taking care of your kids during a casuality."

I was disturbed. I couldn't conclude. So am I selfish? If yes, is it right to be one.

Drained due to heavy thoughts and sleep kissed my eyelids. I made myself comfortable in the bed.

"papa...papa..." opened my eyes to the cute little voice..My angel was standing in front...

"papa...i want to go out to play but mama did not give me permission".

"no worry..go out and play" she ran

Same thoughts came back to me relaxed mind. This time i got it better...

I am a man who believes in equallity, fairness, peace loving, and very emphathetic and a looser...

Did I get it correct...yes, I got it correct…but what did I loose. May not be not did not gain anything either in the rat race.

I understand others problem, I am a good listener to others problems with no one to hear mine. Give away things to avoid a conflict. I try to be fair to others and put others first....Did someone say it is great character…Still I am a looser...so what is missing in my to be a looser....

What is missing which can improve or develop to win the race...

At a lightning strike it came to me…..I guess selfishness is missing...yes it is missing…
