New Disney Apps!

By now you know my Bella's love & obsession for anything and everything Disney. When I was asked to review new Disney Apps for my IPhone, I jumped at the chance! Bella was unbelievably excited to get to play with them! I was able to download the Toy Story & It's a Small World Apps, so Bella got to try them out. It's A Small World App

First off, let me preface this by saying that It's a Small World was my FAVORITE ride at Disney World when I was little. I actually made my parents go on the ride 3 times in one day, (my poor parents! Ha!) I love everything about it, especially the song, which you hear when you first launch the app. Brought me back to my childhood! The colors were also so vibrant making the pictures jump off the screen.

Bella was the ultimate reviewer & she thought the kids in the pictures were so cute. She kept laughing everytime the song came on & it also helped her to see the words light up at the bottom as she sang along. Such a cute app & definitely one we'd suggest! It also made her that much more excited to see Mommy's favorite ride when we go to Disney World this Spring!

Toy Story Showtime! App

Bella is more than obsessed with anything & everything Toy Story. Look in her room and you'll see Buzz & Woody somewhere on her bed because she has to have them to sleep at night, so when I downloaded the Toy Story Showtime app, she went bananas!

Here's Momma's favorite part... the words go along with the stories, and when she touches a word, it will stop the story, repeat the word to help her understand, then go back to the story! At the end of each page, it highlights the characters so she can touch them & they will either sing, talk, or do something funny enough to make her laugh every time! This app kept her busy for around 35 minutes which is ah-maz-ing for my 5 year old! I'd definitely recommend this app to kids who are starting to learn to read or just love Toy Story!

Something Borrowed

While recouping this week, I stumbled upon a movie called "Something Borrowed". I had a few hours to pass, so I turned it on. I loved the movie! So cute & I ended up loving almost every character in the movie!

Mainly I fell in love with Dex! OMG this guy is adorable! (Seems his real name is Colin Egglesfield... Yummm!!) His eyes and smile melted my heart! Reminded me a little of Tom Cruise back in the day!

I mean seriously people?!?!? Hello!!

So if you've got 2 hours to spare, check into this movie. I caught it on HBO on Valentine's Day. And nope, not a paid advertisement at all, just loved it!

Valentine's Breakfast in Bread with Petit Jean Ham & Bacon #TXBacon

Since Valentine's Day fell on a Tuesday, the Hubs & I decided to celebrate on Saturday morning! I decided to surprise him with breakfast in bed. His favorite breakfast is always scrambled eggs with ham & bacon. I went to HEB to get the ingredients for the special breakfast!

On Saturday morning, I woke up early and started cooking. First the Petit Jean Ham & Bacon. I love that Petit Jean is the official Dallas Cowboys ham & bacon!

I always put them on a paper towel to soak up extra oil before eating

Once I was all done, I grabbed my plate and his and went upstairs to wake him up. Funny thing, he was already waking up because he smelled delicious Texas meats cooking downstairs!

The Hubs Valentine's Day Breakfast!

He ended up eating it faster than I could take pictures of & said we definitely have to keep buying the bacon & ham! I thought it was delicious and ended up finishing mine in record time as well!

I think he liked it!

Here's the easy as pie recipe:

2 slices per person of Petit Jean Bacon

1 slice per person of Petit Jean Ham

2 Eggs per person

1) Put cooking oil on both pans before putting the meats on.

2) Put the slices of ham on one pan & bacon on the other.

3) Cook to desired crispiness (Mine cooked on a medium low heat for 7 minutes).

4) Once the meats are cooked, place on a plater over a paper towel.

5) Break 2 eggs over pan. Add salt & pepper.

6) Add a touch of milk to make eggs fluffy & cook on medium low heat for around 6 minutes.

7) Once cooked put on separate plate and add bacon& ham.

8) Enjoy!

Missing Much?!

So you may have noticed a lack of posting on the blog last week. That would be due to me having an appendectomy on Wednesday afternoon. Needless to say, I'm freakin exhausted and not really into blogging much. But that's about to change!
So without going into surgery deets, let me just say that Saturday I managed to make Eric a Valentine's Day Breakfast in bed. I wasn't able to make the original breakfast I had planned, but still able to make his favorite breakfast & will post all about it tomorrow for Love Day!
Anyway, we had to cancel our actual Valentine's Day plans, but I managed to make it to HEB by myself today (1st outing in a week!! Woo-Hoo!) and get a few things for him & Bella for tomorrow. I hope everyone has a wonderful week & I am praying to be back to work by Wednesday! Happy Monday!

I only have bikinis & want something a little more covered up for the Disney Cruise since there will be hundreds of small kiddos running around! Weekend Wrap Up

What a roller coaster of a weekend! Beside the fact of having to carry my kicking, screaming, throwing things in public child out of Gattiland after her friend's birthday party, the weekend was pretty quiet. Yes, you read that right. Here's the deets... Bella had a double birthday party for 2 of her friends at Gattiland on Saturday. Parents, please do not give the kids noise makers at the BEGINNING of a party, because all the moms & dads will be going home with migraines at the end of it. Now I'll step off my soap box, thank you. So after pizza, candy, games, & 2 birthday cakes; the kids got to go to the games area to play. They have bumper cars in there, but the kids have to be 44" tall to ride... Bella's 42". Yep meltdown that every one of her friends gets to ride except for her. The lady working the thing would even budge, which I get because of safety, but wow Bella was pissed! We decided it was time to go since she had the entire place looking at us wondering who just tried to kill a kid since she was screaming so loudly. Eric & I literally had to carry her over our shoulders trying not to drop a 40 pound squirming, screaming kid. Let's just say Momma need a lot of wine that night! Sunday was actually fantastic! After we all 3 sat down to discuss why her actions were not suitable for public or any place else for that matter, we went to church then headed to a friend's housewarming party. They have a beautiful home & Bella quickly made a new friend so she had a wonderful time. It was such a nice party! We headed home before Super Bowl & watched it and The Voice before falling peacefully asleep. Momma was exhausted from the entire weekend & actually glad it's Monday!

Party Planning Over Vacay Planning On

Now that Bella's party is nice & finished, it's one less stress for this Momma to have. Whew! Now it's time to get down to the nitty gritty in planning our Disney Cruise & Disney World Vacay! We've already booked our cruise & flight, and since the Hubs works for a rental car company, that's set too! Now it's figuring out where we will stay once we get to Disney World & where we want to go. This little girl is more than excited for our trip...

Anyone been to Disney World or on the Disney Dream & want to help this Momma out a little? Any and all help is mucho appreciated!

I can't wait!! Only 3 months left!! On the weight loss front, I've lost over 8 lbs since the last week in December, but this past weekend I went WAYYYY off the plan with my favorite enchiladas, Eric grilling steaks, & having a ton of pizza at Bella's party. But on the weekdays, this Momma is kicking some Weight Watcher's booty!!! Let's hope I can get down to my ideal weight before we leave for Orlando!! 5 Years

5 years ago today I gave birth to the most beautiful, smart, funny, loved little girl. Bella turns 5 @ 6:08 p.m. today & I cannot believe how fast the last 5 years have flown by. I remember bringing her home from the hospital, now I have a little girl who starts kindergarten in the Fall & wants to just hang out in her room and watch TV all the time.

Look at those eyes, my heart just melts!

Bella has been such a beautiful light in our lives & I can't imagine our lives without her. I always wondered what God had put me on this Earth to do & I figured out Jan. 26, 2007. It was to become her Momma.

Bella, you are very independent & boyish, which I love. You know what you want and you're not afraid to go out and get it. You love to make people laugh & your favorite word is "booty", which every time you say you start cracking up.

You love with your whole heart & you already tell me you've met the boy you're going to marry. (His name is Alex & he's been you best friend for over 2 years now). You have a smile that lights up a room, especially now that you've lost your 1st tooth!

You are not much of a meat eater, but you will always love fruits & some veggies. You aren't too picky of an eater, but you know when you don't like something and there's no way you're going to eat it. We know not to even try to squish it into the foods you love, because you'll know it right away.

You still have your Daddy (& Mommy) wrapped around your little finger & I don't see that ever changing. We both love you unconditionally and only want the best for you. We love to see you smile & try to keep that smile on every day.

We hope you have a wonderful 5th Birthday & this is the BEST year for you. We always promised when you turned 5 we would take you on a Disney Cruise & to Disney World, and we can't wait until May when we get to fulfill that promise. I can't wait to see your face when you meet Mickey & Minnie for the 1st time!

Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was mainly birthday party mode! Bella's 5th Birthday is this Thursday (where did the time go!?) and her party is next Sunday. Usually, she has a small birthday party (5 or 6 kids & maybe 10 parents), but this year we're going all out & she's having tons of kiddos & parents alike there. So I figured I needed to step it up a little. I ordered adorable invitations that I posted a few weeks ago, am having the cutest Minnie Mouse cupcakes, & decided to even decorate the water bottles for it!

They turned out super cute & I can't wait to see it all come together next weekend!

Saturday night, Bella stayed with her grandparents, so Eric & I had an impromptu date night. We ended up going out for Mexican food (which I still counted points & stayed within my daily points!), then came home and finally got to watch Bridesmaids. It was pretty funny, but I think it was overhyped a little. I did have a few LOL moments during it though!

Sunday we went to church, then came home to make homemade fat free chicken enchiladas! I wish I would have taken pictures of it, but it was delicious & 2 enhciladas was only 6 points! Friday Loves - Flip Flop Edition

My 2012 Goals

I usually never post about extremely serious things because I like to keep my blog upbeat & happy, since that's my usual attitude. This time I'm going to be extremely heartfelt & honest. I have set some goals for 2012 that I am hoping and praying to accomplish... 1) To be a better mom to my daughter.

This beautiful little girl is the reason I get up every morning happy to take on a new day. I feel like I'm a pretty good mom, but sometimes I am too exhausted to play soccer in the back yard or ask her to help me cook dinner when we're running late to gymnastics.

That's not what life is about. It's about spending every special minute I can with her before she gets old enough to know that Momma is not cool & not someone she wants to hang out with. She's my angel & I need to see that more and let her know that she's my light & love.

2) Loose weight.

The week before New Years I decided to start on Weight Watchers. My SIL & MIL had both done it a few years back and it helped them incredibly! I am not one to go to meetings every week, so I decided the online version is best for me. I religiously track every single thing I eat or drink every day. The first week was torture. I was starving myself & it made me incredibly pissy. Now it's been 3 weeks & I love the way it's working! I've lost 5 lbs and can tell more by how little I eat compared to before. I'm rarely hungry & when I am I look immediately for a tomato to munch on. No more cheese every time I feel like it or 2 glasses of wine with dinner. I'm hoping to loose 30 lbs by the beginning of May & I think I can actually do it!

3) Spend more time with the Hubs

Not just date nights which luckily we get to have once a month or so, but actually sitting down in the evenings, shutting off our phones/Mac Book, and talking or watching our favorite shows together. We've been together for 12 years now & we definitely take our love for each other for granted. I am determined to show him how much I love him this year (without being obnoxious!)

So that's my goals. I know I know everyone has weight loss as a goal, but honestly this is my 1st time to ever diet & I am proud to know I am sticking to it. I have even started taking Zumba classes & running in my neighborhood! (I HATE running with a passion!) I hope to keep all of these up as the year goes on. What are your 2012 goals?

I don't know what to say about this one. One wrong turn and she has completely fallen out of this dress!

Jessica Biel, you just got engaged, why do you feel the need to go all granny too?! You're a beautiful girl, stop trying to cover it up!

I am knee deep in birthday party planning & Walt Disney World/ Disney Cruise planning all week. Picking out restaurants, trying to get reservations, booking hotel, deciding on excursions... my head is about to explode! Ahhh the joys of being a Mom! Disney Cruise Lines are Ah-Maze-Balls for anyone with kids young & old! (I went when I was 7 and am more excited to take Bella!) One night during the cruise they have "Pirate Night". Everyone on the ship dresses as pirates for dinner (They have extra pirate gear at your dinner table for you!) then everyone goes up to the top deck for a pirate party complete with fireworks off the ship!! This is the thing Bella is uber excited for!! Gotta sharpen our pirate talk a little... Arrrrr Matey!!

Bongos Cuban Cafe in Disney World. My sister took my nephew a few years ago to Disney World & when she got back the thing she raved about the most was Bongos! She kept telling me how awesome the food was & how fun the atmosphere is. We have already made reservations for the 1st night we're there & I'm ready to try some real Cuban cuisine!

Ahhhhhhhh can't wait for vacay! Have a great weekend!

Bella & I had a "date night" Saturday night while the Hubs & his Dad caught the UT basketball game (which by the way the Horns kicked some booty!!)
We had so much fun shopping & having dinner at California Pizza Kitchen! Dinner was delicious & Bella did amazing the entire time! Here's some pictures from the evening!

Bella's Birthday Invites!

Bella's 5th Birthday is at the end of this month & the invites are going out this week! My SIL Sandra makes the most adorable awesome cards and invitations EVER, and this year she outdid herself! We're having a Minnie Mouse themed party since we'll be sailing the seas with Mickey & Minnie soon. I wanted it to be cute but sassy since that's exactly like Bella! Here's what she came up with!

How freakin adorable are these babies?! Bella saw them and fell in love with them! It makes turning a year older so much more special when everything turns out better than expected! I never leave the house without at least a little on & can't imagine not having all my favorites on hand for date night with the hubs or a girl's night out! I just bought this eyeliner for myself & am head over heels for it. It literally lasts all day. I have a habit of rubbing my eyes and taking 1/2 my eye makeup right off with it. This actually stays on! Who'd ever thunk it?! I use the dark brown color since I have green eyes & it looks divine!

MAC eyeshadow has always been one of my favorites. I love the color Naked lunch & am planning on putting it in my makeup box pronto. It goes with everything!! LOVE!

What girl doesn't need an instant eye lift every now and then?! (Especially us 30+!) This stuff is like magic. Put it on and it looks like you had a good 8 hour sleep, instead of the usual 5 because of cleaning, cooking, kiddos, and work....
