Obsessing over Ballerina Sneakers

Should I go for it? Have you ever heard of ballerina sneakers? I know I do because I see it all over my feed.

I remember liking these type of shoes when I was younger but I am not a ballerina and nor can I afford them. However, the tides have changed! Now they even made it in sneakers form which means it should be comfy right? Like, a cute shoes made for walking, finally?!

I find Puma a bit over my budget, a little more search and I have landed with Agsdon ballerina sneakers and a Vietnamese brand called Naga shoes.

I am also torn with beige, silver or pink ballerina sneakers. The adult in me says go beige though haha. It seems to be easier to mix and match.

Hello world! It has been so long since my last post and January is almost ending. Is it just me or the first month seems to be always the longest?

Besides my 9 to 5 I am also busy with my other extra curricular activities such as drawing and investing. I have also started listening to audio books while I can’t read the actual books yet. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with how much I am trying to accomplish but this is also how I am only able to feel satisfied and productive. Anyone else who self-diagnosed themselves with ADHD?

I plan to make a new habit of posting here on a schedule. Not just about beauty but anything under the sun. Although honestly, I feel like the social media world has beauty reviews all covered, but sometimes I personally prefer something slower and more peaceful myself when I’m looking for feedback. So I figured there could still be other people like me too? Well let’s find out when I give life to this blog again on the succeeding weeks.

Review: Ortiz Vitamin C Skin Care Set

Ortiz Vitamin C Skin Care Set was recommended to me by one of Ortiz Clinic's dermatologist. I was unfortunately suffering from a bad breakout when I went in for a C02 laser treatment. I don't want to buy it initially as my skin doesn't react well to vitamin c but since my dermatologist insisted I have decided to give it a go.

Packaging
It came in a really posh paper bag and a box. The plastic packaging of all 3 products doesn't feel flimsy at all. It's solid plastic with gold accent. Talk about bougie looking.

Okay so for the Ortiz Vitamin C Skin Care Set I want to break down my review per product.

VITAMIN C CLEANSER

It does not lather up much. Lightly scented of tangerines. I am not sure if it does cleanse well like the other cleansers I use.

VITAMIN C SERUM

I was looking forward to this but it feels like a normal serum. It's scentless and doesn't sting. It is not sticky and seems to be absorbed well.

VITAMIN C WHITENING CREAM.

Smells faintly like a tangerine. A bit thick and gives a luxurious feeling when applied. It applies thinly.

I use this 24 hours after my laser treatment. It was okay. It doesn't sting despite the peeling.

Altogether this gave me a glowing look initially. After the full peeling (around 5 days after the laser treatment) I kept on using the set but the breakouts did not stop. I cont

Just a random Friday morning and I felt like blogging. I am so into work nowadays (and who is not?!) Well it is pretty chilly and it is kinda relaxing.

I realized I bought a lot of things from yesterday's Lazada sale. It is such a waste not to review anything at all. I noticed how inauthentic reviews are in the shopping platforms and so does in Tiktok. It is so confusing yet it can't be helped. If it works for the brand and them. But sometimes it gets so tiring to sort those real from the fake reviews. I mean seriously. Of course the results of a product varies from one to another but there is no need to hype anything up because sooner or later someone will figure out what's up.

Is there a need for me to post honest reviews in Tiktok too? That is what I am wondering about. Will I have the time to be consistent? Well that is another question.

June 2024: Half of the year is almost over!

The month of May has been really fruitful for me in terms of freelancing because I kept on getting offers. I feel like it was my luckiest month!

I am so excited to know what June has in store for me. I also wanna share that a new SM has opened near our place so it is so much easier to get a breather in case we want to eat good food on a weekend!

Also, I have started this month with a pilates routine from Madeleine Abeid.

I am trying to build a routine for my well being. My waist is at 28 right now and I hope to improve it with pilates!

Today, I've ordered another set of S&R Pizzas, my current favorite! They have a promo for Father's Day but I still remember their Mother's Day special which includes Pesto Shrimp pizza which became our instant favorite.

I have changed up my skincare routine to include more probiotics with The Face Shop Rice Toner. It works in brightening up my face and it doesn't sting!

I am looking forward to posting blogs and a few reviews here and there the whole month! Crossing fingers that I'd be able to, but I am hoping that I can at least create something I will be consistent with.

240121 NCT Neo City The Unity Tour in Bulacan

With their NCT Neo City The Unity Tour in Bulacan concert, NCT finally returned to Manila. I was so happy and excited for this. I have only seen NCT Dojaejung last year with their Perfume Fancon and I seriously can't get enough of them.

From choosing the right OOTD down to the section we'll choose for the concert, everything was carefully planned.

Bus going to Bulacan with JungP Bus!
We rode a special Jungwoo bus going to the Philippine Arena. We were picked up at around 9:20AM. We had really sweet busmates and there were games, snacks, and drinks along the way.

Arrival in Philippine Arena
We chose between LET or Fan Hub to start the day. There are 4 special buses in total. Doyoung, Jaehyun, Haechan, and Jungwoo. I had the opportunity to take a few selcas amid a hot and humid morning.

We were lost at first and we can't find the Fan Hub. Philippine Arena is huge and we walked a lot to get there. We saw the Food Hub first then the Fan Hub. There are a lot of comfort rooms in the area but there are long lines too. We have decided to get our strap and fan benefits first. The N line is too long compared to the other standing lines of the C and T sections. We kinda spent time lining up for this.

We were already starving when we were done. Good thing there is a free Jollibee lunch provided by the JungPs PH fan club. We saw the Doyoung plane flying in the Bulacan sky and Doyoung himself saw it too so it was a success!

When we went back to the Fan hub to try and grab freebies, Jaehyun and Doyoung fan clubs were already out of everything.

Queuing
We went back to our bus to drop our things. We were glad there was a Free shuttle going back to the Arena area. My sister decided not to line up too early because we have a good queuing number of 0001 and 0002. When we got to the arena, the marshall we'd asked for directions said we were being looked for earlier.

We've run like our lives depended on it. We got to the start of the N4 line just in time. The management had an organized system and everyone got in the arena in the expected time.

N4 Peeps!
I didn't realize how near we were to the stage. Young NCTZENs were so fun and bubbly. They won the Globe promo and got standing tickets. NCT Neo City The Unity Tour in Bulacan. Our section is not as jam-packed as the other sections. Media people got in last minute.

Concert Time
NCT's grand entrance to the stage is so cool! The opening song is Super Human, I didn't expect that! It is a strong song choice for the intro. We love it!

We didn't want this to end, but everything has to go home. It was around 8:30PM. It was an awesome 2 hours of my life.

Overall~
NCT Neo City The Unity Tour in Bulacan is a blast! They left no crumbs. We didn't win the album signing but we were able to get really good standing places in the concert. I still can't believe the concert is over. But one thing is for sure, this won't be the last time I will be attending NCT's concert!

Review: Bactazil Clarifying Soap

In the hopes of clear skin, I tried a new soap. Yet again I don't know why I am so adventurous when it comes to soaps. My mom often tells me I am such a daredevil for trying products I am unsure of. But my mindset was always if I don't try it, how will I know if it's for me? The new soap I have tried this time is Bactazil Clarifying Soap.

What is it?

Bactazil Clarifying Soap contains tea tree and biosulfur.

Highly recommended by dermatologists to treat acne and other skin infections.

Tea Tree oil contains terpenoids, which have been found to have antiseptic and antifungal activity.

Tea tree oil is an excellent treatment for acne, athlete's foot, ringworm, and unwanted body odor.

Bio Sulfur is a natural form of organic sulfur found in all living organisms.

It has antifungal, anti-bacterial, and keratolytic properties and is widely used to cure dermatological disorders such as acne vulgaris, seborrheic dermatitis, pityriasis vesicolor and scabbies.

In a minimalist white box which makes it really clean looking. It has a nice branding.

Experience
Bactazil Clarifying Soap out of the box is dark brown and kinda see through. It smells like herbal. When I first used it my face looked brighter but it also feels a bit dry and tight.

I am acne prone but my skin was in a good condition when I used it. A week after, I was breaking out. I continued using it but it didn't help with the redness nor inflammation. I was using it for a month until I decided to switch brands because I can't pile on makeup just to hide my breakouts.

Right now I am back to my old and trustworthy Bodyshop Tea Tree toner and soap. I really should think about my life choices better.

Ever since I have moved houses I have experienced back acne again. I don't know what is the reason, because it could be anything right now. Stress, over fatigue, dirt? What even annoys me is the fact that back is hard to reach. Is anyone who struggles with this too? Whenever I needed to treat my back I needed to ask someone to help me. So when my sister and I went to the mall, I saw this DermAid Back Spray and I just knew I needed to try it.

Packaging
It's in a spray-type form with a plastic bottle which reminded me of repackaged local skincare products. It applies a thin layer every time, which is great. I haven't encountered a defective spray from them so far.

Experience
I don't have high hopes initially because I've only purchased this so I can use something for my bacne.

The spray smells similar to a bleaching solution I have used before. I recommend that you use it inside a well-ventilated room so you don't get suffocated like I did when I first used it. DermAid Back Spray's chemical smell is strong when you use it a lot.

My bacne did not heal quickly after using it, which I expected. I continuously used it for a month until I noticed the acne on my back had all dried up. I won't speak about the marks as it is still there but it helped so much with the redness and healing them. I also noticed that when I am using the spray, my back micro exfoliates. I use a soft cloth to get rid of the dead skin cells, like once or twice every week.

With daily usage, one bottle only lasted me 2 weeks.

It has been a while since I have used something really moisturizing for my skin. I long for the glass skin look from Aloe Vera gels, which I first tried about 10 years ago but realized it was making me break out. I have looked for an alternative but there I found none. So when I saw the ad for d'Alba saying it is the way for glass skin I was immediately convinced. However, I got the d’alba White Truffle Prime Intensive Serum instead of getting the first spray.

I got the product in a 100ml spray mist bottle. It doesn't look flimsy although it's plastic. Although one might expect it to come in a glass given the price.

Experience
I am so curious about how d’alba White Truffle Prime Intensive Serum works because I have never used a serum spray before. But for a face product, I find the serum spray heavily scented. I shake it well before using it. The mist sprays just enough product but I still like using my fingers to spread out the serum. This makes the serum absorbed easily.

My face looks radiant and glowing after using it. But I still find that it is not hydrating enough because I still need a moisturizer underneath. It is a good way to seal all of the skincare products I've applied though. So this is currently the last step in my skincare routine.

The maximum size of one bottle is 100ml which makes it easy to bring around for reapplication. I use this as a primer spray and a hydrating spray to be used daily.

What a rainy weekend! I just want to quickly drop by and share my recent Blooming Beauty by Audrey Haul. I purchased this 3 days ago, and the shipment was really fast nowadays. A good side effect of pandemic.

What did I get?
If you are not familiar with Blooming Beauty by Audrey, it's a brand with an owner who always does FB lives while using her product. I got convinced by her before and afters and she attests that it is all natural type of whitening.

It has been a while ever since I stopped taking glutathione so I was having high hopes with Rosmar Kagayaku Whitening and Slimming Capsule. I have taken 2 capsules a day for 30 days with no misses. First thing, I want to say that the capsules are very easy to take. It won't choke you like your other big vitamins. I take this with 2 capsules of Vitamin C. There is no weird smell and I noticed that I really don't eat a lot when I was taking this. I did not break out and the sunburned part of my chest area lightened. I did not experience any side effects when I was taking Rosmar Kagayaku Whitening capsules.

It's just not for me, but I am glad I have satisfied my curiosity.

Review: Bench Beauty Nail Polish

One of my best bets to further up my look is through nail polish! I had really short nails for the longest time because of excessive nail biting due to anxiety. Now I am more or less over it and my nails are growing back. I can call myself a late bloomer in terms of nail polishes because of this. My recent find is Bench Beauty Nail Polish.

What is it?
Bench Beauty Nail Polish says:

White cap and see-through round bottle. It's simple and I like it.

Experience
I use Chic and Caronia for nail polishes because it is accessible. I get them from Watsons. I didn't pay attention to Bench Beauty Nail Polishes until my sister had the opportunity to watch Stray Kids just by buying merchandise. YAY.

Anyway, so Bench Beauty Nail Polishes are just awesome. They have so many shades and I didn't even bother to count. But their shade selection is just a lot and they are so aesthetic as well. The nail polish formula is also great. It is not sticky and dries fast when applied. I only needed to apply 1 coat for dark colors but adding a 2nd and 3rd won't clump my polish. It also applies smoothly. The brush is also a no-brainer. It is perfect for applying an even amount of nail polish.

Review: Zeesea Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

Summer is over but the heat in Manila is not! It's almost always humid here and I am not very confident that my makeup will last. This is why I am glad when my sister bought Zeesea Lasting Makeup Setting Spray. She is always buying the things I thought I didn't need before.

What is it?
Zeesea Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

Plastic tube with iridescent black coloured cap. The liquid inside looks so pretty with it's sparkles.

Experience
When using Zeesea Lasting Makeup Setting Spray you have to spray a generous amount in order melt the makeup together. The liquid has sparkles but when I spray there is no sparkles left on my skin. I am not sure how it happened but that is good. It just applies like a normal spray.

Normally, my blush will only stay put for about 2 hours then it's gone for the day. But I've noticed when I use Zeesea Makeup Setting Spray it stays on for 4 hours or more. Then I also used a not so good eye liner because the one I am really using is lost but then it too stayed the whole day. The tip of my cat eye remained intact until I took it off when I went home. Mind you, I have a combination skin so my T-zone is oily.

It is also the same effect with my sister wherein she perspires a lot but she required little to minimal touch ups ever since she used this spray. The foundation doesnt sink to the pores even after hours. The foundation also stopped transfering much to our masks.

Part 1: Dojaejung Weekend: Getting Presscon Passes

My Dojaejung weekend started early on Thursday right after my graveyard shift. I quickly went out with my sister Brendie to catch the bus going to Ayala. It was mentioned that only the first 1000 fans who will line up can get a Presscon pass.

Of course, we were ready. We downloaded and verified our Zing app 2 days before getting the passes. Funny enough, I could bring a banana, bread and water on our way out.

Lining up

We were able to get to Ayala after 2 hours. We were running and walking simultaneously as we approached the last person in the line. Huffing and puffing because we are not as young as before to be doing this.

An Ayala staff quickly approached us, and she gave us a stamp, stickers and queue number. I am impressed with how attentive and hands-on Ayala was with the queue. 2 guys kept on doing rounds to make restamp as the ink quickly fades. They are also quick to give everyone who queues a number.

We stood in the line for a few hours. Talking and testing my phone for possible zoom shots like what will happen in the concert. It was hot and there is a lot of people who are in the line like us.

Red or Blue?

When we finally got inside I felt a sigh of relief. It is also cold because of the air conditioner. We were asked to choose a side. There are 2 colours to choose from - red and blue. It actually stands for the right and left side of the stage. The middle side is for the media. But for us fans, it is more like are you on Doyoung's or Jungwoo's side? Because we already knew how they'll get seated once they get on stage.

I finally decided on blue because of my sister. She is Jungwoo-biased. I made 2 new friends and here is my pass number 299.

Time for food!

I remembered I still need to eat a decent breakfast. So we went to Burger King for a quick brunch.

It was so hot so we dropped by Pickup Coffee before going home. We're tired, sleepy but still oh-so excited to see Dojaejung soon! Catch part 2 of our Dojaejung Weekend Adventure in my next post!

Review: Etude House Mylash Serum

Lately, I've been obsessing over how much difference eyelashes can make to an overall look. I have looked into mascaras and false lashes but I thought of helping myself a bit and trying to see if there is anything that could help me in getting doll-like lashes. That is when I've found Etude House Mylash Serum through my sister.

What is it?
Etude House Mylash Serum says:

Lash serum to encourage growth
Contains cornus officinalis fruit extract and panthenol
Use as a primer under makeup or on its own
Cornus officinalis fruit extract - Conditions the hair and encourages growth
Panthenol - Soothes and strengthens the hair

How to use: After your beauty routine, apply and brush the serum from the lash roots towards the tips of your lashes. *Be careful and avoid the content from entering your eyes.

Packaging
It comes in a clear plastic tube with a baby pink cap. It comes in a screw mascara type of applicator making it easy to use it on the lashes and roots.

Experience
I was initially using castor oil for my lashes but I really don't like how it smells so I stopped using it. When my sister bought Etude House Mylash Serum I was skeptical but she said nothing but wonders about it so I gave in. I use it every night before I start my skincare routine. I find that it is best to use it on clean lashes to avoid any product getting mixed up inside the serum tube. Over time, if you use any other product the mascara wand picks it up, it will get mixed with the serum and the product itself gets cloudy when this happens. The serum is still usable but it kinda shortens the lifespan of the product.

The serum has no scent. It's very light, not heavy, not oily and it doesn't clump up my lashes. Ever since I started using Etude House Mylash Serum I've noticed that my lashes are stronger now and there is less eyelash fallout even when I scratch my eyes when it's itchy. It is also slightly longer than before. Still, not as doll-like but that won't be as realistic expectation right?

I remember buying this for the micro-peeling effect. SOAPlada Stunning White Soap With Glass Skin Effect has no scent which is totally fine. It doesn't sting as well. I did not use it on my face. When trying new soaps I only use it on my body. I wasn't using any harsh products before trying the soap. I have used it around 2-3 times before I have decided to wait for at least 5 minutes before washing the soap off for maximum effect. Well, it didn't turn out well because my skin was so itchy afterwards. I had a sudden skin allergy for extreme dryness which might be partly my fault because I didn't moisturize after using the soap.

Review: Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella Tea-Trica

I can't believe it's already June?! Jumping in here real quick to review Skin 1004 Tea-Trica Line which I have been using for a while now.

What is it?
The Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella Tea-Trica Line is specifically designed to treat acne-prone skin. The combination of tea tree extract, cica(centella) and Pine tree complex, is excellent for soothing acne-prone and sensitive skin.

Packaging
I like the fact that every product comes in a thick sturdy box. It kept it safe during the transit especially the ampoule because the bottle is made of glass.

Experience
I am using the complete line of Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella Tea-Trica for about 2 months so I can confidently say my honest opinion about it.

I was originally using The Body Shop's Tea Tree line for more than a year and it was working great but I can't keep my eyes off Skin 1004 Tea Trica line. I've tried the Hyalucica toner before and I like it but I need something I can use to counter breakouts.

The Tea-Trica BHL's foam wash is in mint green color and I dig it. It doesn't foam up well though, but I knew that foaming doesn't necessarily mean more clean. It doesn't dry up my face though or make it feel tight so that is a thumbs up.

After washing my face I use the Tea-Trica Toner which feels like water. I usually use it with a cotton ball. But you can also use a cotton pad or you can also apply it by hand.

Lastly, I use the Tea-Trica Ampoule to hydrate my skin. It is a very light type of hydration and it doesn't make my face look shiny. It just felt moisturized from within and it's easily absorbed by my skin.

What is new?

I am moving soon! That is the biggest news. The house my family renting was sold to a new owner so we need to move.
I just renewed my domain name and that means I still have a year of blogging!
I am not into makeups anymore, but I focus on skincare and proper taking care of my health.
I am already mourning my youth as I move to a new age bracket (if you know what I mean!?)
I signed up for Tiktok but as expected, I cannot keep up with the demand of posting daily in order to be a content creator. I guess it is not for me?

New Year, New Eyes with Executive Optical

So for the first day of the year I have decided to get a new prescription glasses. There are a lot of options and I've visited all of them - George Optical, Owndays, Vision Express but alas I have ended up on Executive Optical.

The Why:

The staff in Executive Optical is highly welcoming and so does their shop. It's bright and there are frames available to be tried on. I also like how there are available seats around so you can be seated while waiting for your turn.

Tips
When buying glasses it is recommended that you have 8 hours of sleep (and I do!) I'm glad I slept early on New Year.

Experience
The free check-up is really good! The check is very thorough. They don't just check using their special devices, they also do it again using the manual method of trying out different kinds of the actual lenses. The optometrist is highly friendly as well and I got to ask a lot of questions about taking care of the eyes and such.

She said our eye grade can possibly be maintained when you reach 30 or 40. Then there are 2 ways to improve the eyesight. 1 is through lasik which not everyone is a candidate of then 2 is by using an overnight lens which you can wear while sleeping. The special lenses she mentioned is available in vision centers and might definitely be priced high but I want to actually look for it.

My eye grade was 2.75 years ago and I wasn't able to have it checked for 2 years due to pandemic. It quickly jumped to 4.00 but I was allowed back then to just do 3.75. Now when I got checked, my new grade is 5.00! My optometrist said I can get a 4.75 grade contact lenses (a less .25 grade than my actual) because she said the lenses adhered to my eyes and there will be no distance to it unlike with glasses.

What did I get?
I've purchased an EO Eyewear frame (P2,599) with a multicoated/blue light lenses (+P900).

What I love
For the longest time, I didn't know they give out this cool boxes when purchasing EO Eyewear brand frames. I guess I have never bought the EO Eyewear frame in all of my years of getting frames here, lol. But it is cool. They even give out a free book.

Looking Back
The start of each year has always been a hopeful one. However a few months into the year my job contract ended due to the company's financial issues.

I got a new contract after a month but seriously, having no job for a month gave me anxiety.

Fast forward:

I enjoyed my time in my new job and I was also able to land on a side gig of creating reels for an Interior design company.

Welcome 2023!
I have setting unimaginable goals for my family this 2023. I really hope I can do it and I hope to become really productive.

It is similar to perfume and I really like it, especially the Dewy Radiance. Once applied to the skin the lotion is quickly absorbed. My skin feels moisturized but not sticky at all. I love how it doubles as a UV lotion.

It has been pretty rainy lately. I couldn't go out with friends yesterday — but it wasn't raining too much today. Talk about timing. Today's review is long overdue. I was looking for a product to brighten my underarm when I found NRB Magic Underarm Whitening Deo Cream.

Experience
I bought NRB Magic Underarm Whitening Deo Cream with hopeful spirits that it will work so I made sure to buy at the correct price and availed 2 tubs. It has a fragrant scent and the texture of the product is pretty much similar to tawas. I am not sure why they call it 'cream' because the texture is nowhere similar to a cream. When opened for too long, the product loses moisture as well (similar to tawas) then I needed to rehydrate it with water so I can use it again.

How much and where to buy it?
It comes in 2 sizes 20g and 40g.

Texture is not cream but grainy, similar to tawas or rock salts.

Overall~
Sadly NRB Magic Underarm Whitening Deo Cream didn't work on me. It was great to see other positive reviews on this underarm whitening product, but I didn't see any difference after 2 tubs. I was actually late when I searched and found out that FDA warned consumers regarding the purchase of the product last year.

My search for the best underarm whitening cream continues!
