Damien by Iced Earth off of their "Horror Show" Album. Tells the story of the Anti-Christ and is very, very bad ass, As is the rest of this album. This ruled my playlists at work for most of the winter.

Some shit has been goin down lately and I haven't really been able to keep up with this blog.

Anyway, back to some amazing music.

This is Mors Principium Est. They are a melodic death metal band from Finland, and they are absolutely EPIC. They have 3 albums out and all of them are spectacular. This is probably my favorite song of theirs for obvious reasons. Do yourself a favor and pick up their entire discography. You will not be dissapointed.

And as always, leave some comments and I will check out your blog and click around. Feel free to click some ads around here

Moar Music!

Amazing Amazing AMAZING band! Solution .45 is a side project of the former(and better) lead singer of Scar Symmetry. His voice is simply amazing. A perfect mix of growls and clean vocals. Guitar and drum work is phenomenal. GO BUY THIS WHOLE ALBUM!!!

Enough Black Ops... Now Some Music

2010-09-02T14:55:00.000-05:00

I stumbled across this band on Pandora several years ago and I've been hooked ever since. This is very chill gothic sounding rock from Germany. There name means "to shed tears" in Latin. To me they kinda sound like the band H.I.M. (one of my guilty pleasure bands) only heavier and less girly. Excellent band to play as your falling asleep or if you just need something calming to listen to. Their newer stuff has more of a mainstream sound and I cant say that I like it too much, but their older albums, especially this one, are still regulars on my playlists.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Actual Gameplay

2010-09-02T12:42:00.000-05:00

Gameplay of Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer from Machinima Director Hutch.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

And then a montage by some other guy

Overall I like what I saw/heard. The part that stuck out for me was when he said it felt like it "takes skill to kill people". As someone who considers himself "good" at Call of Duty that makes me very happy, because no one likes getting killed by some no-skill fag who just gets lucky.

New Call of Duty: Black Ops Video "WAGER MODE"

2010-09-01T22:26:00.000-05:00

This looks amazing. Details all the different game types in Wager Mode. Gives you a good look at alot more of the guns that will be in the game. (I do believe I saw a WA2000, my fave gun in MWF2)

Needless to say I am even more stoked now.

New Call of Duty: Black Ops Multiplayer Details!!!

2010-09-01T22:08:00.000-05:00

New Combat Training Mode:
Combat Training is a new multiplayer mode that lets you play with “practice dummies” – bots. Has its own rank up, can be played co-op with a friend. When you are ready, you can then go online. Combat Training was not planned. They built a practice dummy just to gauge weapon damage etc for testing, but then they realized they wanted “Larry” to behave like a real player. So they made it a feature for Black Ops. “Play multiplayer by yourself or co-op with your friends” says Bunting.

Create a Class:
You see your character on this screen because Park 1 has an impact on how your look in the game. If you are Ghost, you wear a ghillie. If you take flak jacket, it's shown and you take less explosive damage.

Lethal, Tactical, Equipment -- you choose. All things you throw that are lethal go on right bumper, all things that are tactical go into your left bumper.

Equipment:
Camera Spike, C4, Tactical Insertion, Motion Sensor, Claymore

Customize Pillar 2:
"This is my weapon, this is my gun." You can customize your weapon so it looks the way you want it to look -- new camo patterns, and you place your emblem on it, customize your red dot sight. Killcams reflect this so you will know exactly who shot you just by seeing their weapon.

Customize Pillar 3:
Emblem editor – images, layers, and a background. You change the scale, move, color, rotate, all that stuff. Create layers, then purchase the option with COD points to put it on your gun
Killstreaks:
Death Machine- Huge gattling gun
Grim Reaper- Some kind of rocket launcher
Napalm Strike
RC car (from trailer)
Gunship
Mortar Team
SAM Turret (shoots down enemy air support)

COD Points:
Every time you play you get COD Points. What you used to unlock by level is now purchasable with the in-game currency. Unlock what you want when you want

Contracts:
Contracts are time-limited challenges you buy and get more CP if you finish them. "Using any combination of stats, we can make any kind of Contracts we want, and can change them at any time." Mercenary, Operations, and Specialist contracts. "Make the investment in your own play style and then get paid for doing so"

Wager Matches:
Everyone pays CP Buy In. Top 3 players at the end of the match win the points.

Modes within Wager Matches:

One in the Chamber: everybody starts with a pistol and has one bullet. If you kill someone, you get their bullet. If you miss, you have to knife them. You have 3 lives

Sticks and Stones - Crossbow, tomahawk and ballistic knife. If you hit with the tomahawk, you bankrupt them

Gun Game -- straight from the community. Series of progressive weapons. Every kill moves you one in level of weapon -- pistol, two pistols, shotty, etc

Sharp Shooter is the 4th type. All players start with the same random weapon, and then the weapons all change at intervals. Everybody is always equal with the weapons

Xbox Live - Inside Xbox will have a video tomorrow that features theater mode.

Thats about it from what I can tell. I got most of this from some dude twittering live during the Multiplayer Reveal Event. Supposedly video will be released here in a few days. I'll try and keep updated and post it here.

I can honestly say I'm excited about this game. It sounds like they have listened to what the community wants and have done it. The game modes listed in the "Wager Mode" are direct from COD 4 pc mods and I think they will go a long way towards keeping the multiplayer fresh. Something that MWF2 lacks in my opinion. I really hope its not a disappointment.

Album Review: Disturbed-Asylum

2010-09-01T21:15:00.000-05:00

I downloaded this album today with medium expectations. Disturbed was one of the bands that helped get me into heavy metal when I was younger, but as I started listening to harder and heavier bands I got less and less interested in them. I decided to listen to it for nostalgia's sake and it wasn't bad but it wasn't really great either. Its just mediocre radio friendly "pop metal". It doesn't really push the envelope from previous releases and honestly sounds pretty much the same as Indestructible. It is consistent the whole way through. Draiman's voice sounds like it always has, although slightly "tamer". He uses a cleaner singing voice as compared to his growl/sing style from early records. This makes everything sound less aggressive and I think it is why I didn't enjoy it as much. If your a die hard fan of Disturbed and you liked Indestructible then you will more than likely enjoy Asylum. If you have never been a fan of theirs then this album will do nothing to change your mind. For me it was worth it to download and is worthy of the hard drive space it occupies but I honestly wouldn't pay money for it (Sorry guys, I'm a pirate).

TLDR: Meh.. Its ok
Final Rating: 6/10
