This day was really great. I had a chance to meet my ex-officemates and new people, quality time with boyfriend, and receive a nice feedback from Fanny Serrano :)

Sister gave me a surprise too. Yay! I love goodies~ Sister gave me some products she bought from Ebay. She gave me Avon Mini Wash-Off Mascara and Covergirl Outlast Smoothwear Lip Liner!

I am really happy with this product cause it's so small and easy to carry. It works like any other mascaras can do. Thicken and darken the lashes. It's waterproof too! It gives a natural effect and does not make you appear too made up. Will take a photo wearing this soon!

Covergirl Outlast Smoothwear All Day Lip Liner

I haven't used this product honestly. Cause I rarely wear lipstick! I guess the shade that I got is good anyway. I might try this one too soon! ;) Watch out for my next posts :D

Fruit Basket Waffle at The White Hat!

Me and boyfriend do not celebrate Valentines. Yes, we do not and we missed it. It was never a big deal for us anyway cause we believe that any day could be a heart's day. ;) So a few days ago, we got a chance to meet each other at the mall and chit chat a little about life and business. We went to The White Hat at Megamall (near Kultura) and tried out their Homestyle Waffle Collection! The White Hat experience is best shared with a loved one indeed.

Yes, they now serve waffles! Freshly made the old-fashioned way from all natural ingredients. Crisp and chewy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. We chose The Fruit Basket variety topped with delightful trio of fresh mangoes, kiwis and strawberries. I love the mix of whipped cream (left) and froyo ice cream (right)! FROYO AND WAFFLE TOGETHER ♡ They also served a separate cup of honey syrup.

Their branch in Megamall was at the back of the main hallway hence, we had a very peaceful ambiance. It was really relaxing and not overcrowded.

To give everyone a recap, MEGA Magazine, the Philippines’ best and pioneer fashion magazine, successfully culminated the second season of Gen M: Generation MEGA, the MEGA Young Designers Competition (YDC) 2012 and kick-started its 20-year anniversary celebration recently at NBC tent last February 16, 2012.

For the past 20 years, MEGA has endeavored to champion Philippine fashion and create a Filipino aesthetic. The YDC was created two years after the inception of the magazine and it was launched in order to discover the creative minds who will then serve as ambassadors of Philippine fashion to the runways of the world. This competition has produced a list of impressive alumni including renowned designers Rajo Laurel, Michi Calica-Sotto, Patrice Ramos-Diaz, Ivarluski Aseron, Mich Dulce and Veejay Floresca

MEGA YDC host and resident judge Sari Yap, shares, “I believe in tradition. The MEGA Young Designers Competition is one such thing. When we started it in 1994, it was to create a platform to discover new talent. Back then, to break into the fashion industry was very difficult and there were very few avenues to generate buzz. Today, it’s a very different picture, there are so many fashion schools and designing has become a go-to career for a lot of young people. Although the barrier to entry is not as difficult as before, we still wanted to find these stars and teach them the right skills.”

In keeping with the 20th anniversary of MEGA, the MEGA Young Designers Competition final six were then tasked to imagine MEGAmorphosis and the next 20 years of MEGA for their final collections. These were then showcased in a grand gala held at NBC Tent last February 16, 2012.

With an audience that included patrons of fashion, young society and the most important advertisers of MEGA magazine, there was no better place to launch young talents Mara Chua, Kirby Cruz, Ched Dalogaog, Robin Gundran, Oz Go and Renan Jay Pacson.

The glittering event is just the first in what will be a series of events to commemorate MEGA’s historic 20 years.

Directed by Robby Carmona, the event featured the top 6 designers: Ched Dalogaog, Kirby Cruz, Mara Chua, Oz Go, Renan Pacson and Robin Gundran each of whom presented a five-piece collection with the theme: MEGA: Fashion in the next 20 years. This year’s judges included MEGA magazine editor-in-chief Sari Yap, acclaimed fashion designer Avel Bacudio, and ramp and commercial model Raya Mananquil, along with MEGA Magazine deputy editor Meryll Yan and executive creative director Suki Salvador. To top it all off, YDC alumni Veejay Floresca and MEGA YDC 2011 grand winner Russell Villafuerte showcased a capsule collection especially created for the night.

The grand winner of this year’s MEGA Young Designer Competition brought home a contract with Boardwalk worth P50,000, a 3-day, 2-night stay at Discovery Shores Boracay, products from Bose, a Meister watch, a trophy by Mulawin Abueva, a feature spread in MEGA Magazine, and P100,000 cash from MEGA. The runners-up also brought home contracts with Boardwalk, a stay at Discovery Shores Boracay, and a feature in MEGA Magazine.

A special prize for Best in Show was also awarded. The winner and his models received P20,000 worth of Gift Certificates from Primadonna shoes.

With the end of the second season of the MEGA Young Designers Competition, the MEGA Publishing Group unveiled a new treat to the country’s fashionistas, the much awaited comeback of MEGA Fashion Crew.

Fanny Serrano Concealer

Hohoho~ So I bought this concealer together with the two-way foundation a month ago. I'm not a fan of concealer sticks but I just can't resist this one cause it worked great on my first test at the store. It is easy to apply even with fingertips, does not oil, and easy to blend.

I use this as a foundation base. The product looks creamy but as you apply to your skin, it doesn't feel like a cream - more like of a powdered texture. I could say that Fanny Serrano cosmetics line was designed to fit the Filipina skin. It does not become oily, making it comfortable to use even on extreme summer days! No icky feeling~ Also affordable too! One stick costs only P350.00. Imagine I could already buy a concealer and foundation with only P1000 in my wallet and still have a change of P250 :)

In Cashew shade

I chose Cashew shade cause it perfectly matches my yellowish skin. My eyebags are awful so I have to use heavy coverage on it. Here's a photo without a concealer:

Dark under eyes. I look soooo tired T_T but I got these since I was a kid. I'm anemic, I lack sleep, and I am stressed. (Maybe I should try to use Revitol?) I definitely need a quick way to reduce the puffiness and conceal the dark areas. Here's the quick fix:

And you know what's best? I can also apply it to my scars on my legs and look flawless :)

Fanny Serrano Two Way Cake Foundation

Fanny Serrano is a renowned make artist here in the Philippines and did makeup for Showbiz Stars. He launched his makeup line a couple of fews ago but I was able to try it yet until now. I was introduced to this foundation by a young makeup artist Beny Reginaldo. His reviews and constant use of this product for his work actually convinced me to try this too. He described this product as "lakas makaganda" foundation.

In Duchess shade

The powder is finely milled. It is easy to apply using a damp/dry sponge or a brush. For matte finish, use a dry sponge. To achieve a transparent look, dampen sponge. It could create from medium to full buildable coverage. Smells good too! Product is made by F21 Cosmetics from Taiwan.

It's look very natural in photos and even in person. This is what I am using recently on my daily shopping and events. It really lasts long and does not cake too! Would you believe this product only cost P399.00? I highly recommend this two-way powder foundation! Definitely purchasing again :)

In2It Liquid Eyeliner (Felt Tip)

Finally, I've got to visit Watsons again and replenish my cosmetics last night. I bought In2it Xtra Lasting Liquid Eyeliner again. Lakas makaganda nyan. The product is made in Thailand.

It has a felt tip which helps to make fine lines easier. I've tried using the Flexi Tip before and both are easy to use. The eyeliner dries in about 30 seconds and incredibly long wearing and waterproof too. It does not bleed nor smudge that's why I love it so much.

It comes in the shade of "very black". It could draw fine lines as thin as this and dries to a shiny finish:

Shake the product well before using. Start applying at the inner corner of your eyelids drawing outward along your eye line. It would be best if you can fill up the small spaces on your lashes to make it look more natural.

One more thing! You'll not have a hard time removing the eyeliner. I tried rubbing it hard and look what happened:

Very neat. Unlike other eyeliners that smudge on your skin and will leave panda eyes unless you use a good makeup remover. In2it Xtra Wearing Eyeliner is easy to remove!

I recommend this product to ladies who'd like to achieve Cat's/Barbie Eyes or simply chinita look :) It's only P409.75. You'll get what you paid for. Check out In2it's range of eyeliners on SM Department Stores and selected Watsons branches. Stay pretty, girls!

This product line has been launched recently and I got really curious about it. I got free samples of this new product whenever I buy at Chatime, Gateway Mall. On my first use, I was like "What's so special with this well-promoted product on TV? It seems like an ordinary shampoo and conditioner...". So, I gave it at least 2 weeks for a fair review. I didn't hesitate to buy the products cause it is really affordable.

My number 1 problem is damaged hair. I went to different hair color shades last year, bleached and only had one treatment after all the chemicals that I've used. I wonder if there's still a solution to this? Dove Intense Repair to the rescue!

I wash my hair every day with shampoo and conditioner. Both of them are very thick. In the shower, I apply shampoo just once and massage it to my hair slowly. I rinse my hair carefully, making sure that there are no shampoo left in my hair. Then I apply the conditioner, leave on for around 3 minutes and rinse slowly my massaging my scalp. I skipped the serum because I wanted to see how the products work by themselves.

After 2 weeks, I've notice a great improvement considering that I have dry, damaged hair (check my photo here). My hair feels so soft, stronger and doesn't dry out anymore. I didn't get any flakes and less breakage too. The product smells good on hair and scalp, but not too strong. I've learned that its better cause it doesn't overpower the scent of my perfume.

I also tried applying Dove Intense Repair Treatment product on my hair one morning after taking a bath. And I was really amazed with the results. I should have more stock of this product!

Step 1: It has Fibre-Actives that penetrates into hair core to help replenish protein. Apply onto hair and rinse off after 3 minutes.

Step2: With Repair-Lock, it locks in repair, leaving hair transformed and soft to touch. No rinse and non greasy.

Let's compare my hair a few weeks ago (click here) to my hair now as I removed my ponytail:

I'm quite surprise how a regular shampoo and conditioner can repair my hair. Now I guess I don't need to visit the salon soon for any treatment. That means, I would be able to save a lot ;) Seriously, you've got to try it!

MEGA at 20

Last Thursday, we got invited to see MEGA YDC Grand Finale. It was an event held by the MEGA Team also to celebrate their 20 years of publishing. It was held at the NBC tent, The Fort and program hosted by supermodel Sarah Meier-Albano.

The six YDC finalists, namely Renan, Oz, Mara, Robin, Kerby, and Ched showcased their final collections in the runway. Mara was my favorite, though I know she's not voted as the strongest contestant by her co-finalists.

Last year's winner, Russel Villafuerte and top designer Veejay Floresca also presented their collections on the runway. Veejay's designs blew me away and Ria Bolivar was really stunning as always.

And finally, the winners of MEGA's Young Designers Competition were announced on stage. Congratulations to Renan Pacson for winning MEGA YDC with his dark and edgy runway show!

It was really nice to meet new friends and co-bloggers like Keigh Jalbuena and Joey Manaig. I went there with my boyfriend, Eton de Guzman. I really knew he would enjoy and appreciate this fashion show event! Met few of my office friends at the event too. Hello Rea Uy, Andrea Foz, and Angel Feliciano!

I remember last year, I was just watching the MEGA Fashion Crew and now we've just seen the winners for Young Designers Competition. I can't wait for the next season of reality game show they're going to air soon. The event was a huge success. Thank you MEGA, especially Kris Andres and Elle, for the invite. Kiss of a Spider Woman

Who would not know this man who is known for creating dark themed movies such as Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd, and Alice in Wonderland! Well, theose were just some of my favorites. Well, I am not a die hard fan compared to my boyfriend. He loves all Tim Burton films!

I am really fascinated when I saw this Tim Burton inspired shoot from photographer Katriena Emmanuel. It was really awesome and you can't say it's not a Tim Burton-like photoshoot. Indebted to a mix of films including Beetlejuice, Corpse Bride and Sleepy Hollow, our dark heroine changes with each scene. Like Burton’s characters who are seen as monsters, she no doubt has her own story to tell – though for now it’s up to the viewer to imagine what that is.

It's Valentines Day! And as I've mentioned on my last post, our dinner date is none other than our mom! After their work, we went to Gateway to bond over a good meal. We had our dinner at My Thai at Gateway Mall.

Thai cuisine! And we really love the ambiance of the place. What's really interesting is that, you could order from My Thai and Pho Hoa (which shares its space with each other) menus that they have.

It was actually an order from a customer but it didn't fit her so I tried the blouse on and I think it suits me quite well. Now this outfit, is mine. Haha. I'm trying to avoid the color of love since most people are wearing it right now since it's Valentines. Speaking of, mommy is our Valentine Date every year. Ok one last share before the day ends! I was just surprised to see, well, I guess no one would imagine, Kate Moss would be a nun for W's Spring Fashion Bible March 2012! Mother superior of fashion!

Actually there was a second cover which provides a yang to Nun-Moss ' yin. Both were photographed by Steven Klein which promised that Moss is no Angel. Lol. Isn't that confusing?

Kimono Lip Glosses

Konnichiwa! While strolling around the mall, me and my sister found something cute and amazing: Kimono Chibi Chan Magic Lip Gloss!

Kawaii! That was our initial reaction when we first saw this. We actually dont have any idea that is was a magic lip gloss until we tested it!

I chose the rose pink kimono girl.. It looks like a regular lip gloss with cute packaging.

My sister chose this one.. which is actually better since you could see clearly the transformation!

Now let's try the yellow lip gloss. I applied it to my yellow skin and not on my lips so you could see the shad clearly.

It goes on as clear and reacts to the person's skin and changes it color into pink in seconds! It's magic!!! So what if I try the pink lip gloss? Would it turn to color yellow or blue? Let's try..

It turned into pinky peach :3 love the shade. Now, I wanna go back to Farmers and look for the other shades. I think I wanna collect them all!
