If you are in the market for a vehicle but you really don’t want to purchase something brand new, you might want to look into certified preowned cars. You can find a quality vehicle that is as good as new for a fraction of the price. There are some things to consider before making any decisions about certified preowned cars.

The first thing you might want to consider is how you are going to finance your purchase. Some loan companies prefer to lend to individuals who are buying brand new vehicles since the collateral for the loan is the car itself. However, if you choose certifited preowned cars as an option you can still find good financing for the purchase.

One thing to remember is that the bulk of a vehicle’s value depreciates after the first two years. Your brand new car is worth less once you drive it off of the dealer’s lot. If you choose certified preowned cars that are exactly two years old you are making a wise purchase.

The vehicles that are two years old are going to retain a higher percentage of their value than the brand new vehicles. Of course, you are not going to get as much for used automobiles that are not certified and there is good reason for this.

When you buy a used car, you trust the person selling the vehicle to disclose all of the information about the vehicle. However, you probably will not get the whole realistic background through this source. Unless you are dealing with certified preowned cars, you are really taking a chance with this purchase.

I know the problems that can occur when you don’t have all of the facts. I bought a used car a few years ago that gave me nothing but trouble. While I was aware that the vehicle had an R-title indicating that it had been wrecked, the dealer didn’t give me an indication of how extensive the damage really was. Since it wasn’t among certified preowned cars, I wasn’t getting the whole story.

As it turned out, I had to get rid of the awful vehicle within a year. Apparently, there was extensive damage to the passenger side and the frame was cracking. The car was rusting away underneath and I began to detect mildew smells as the “new car fragrance” that the dealer used wore away.

I still prefer to buy used vehicles but I always make sure that they are certified preowned cars. There is no better option in my opinion.

When you are looking for a good used car, don’t limit your selection to what you can find at dealerships. Many dealerships that have new cars also have a selection of used cars from which you can choose. These are great, and for the most part are in good shape, but don’t see this as your only option. The selection might be limited, and you shouldn’t settle for something you really don’t want because they don’t have anything else. Don’t forget that there are many cars for sale by owner out there that may just be exactly what you need, and you may save some money this way.

You can find listings for cars for sale by owner in your local paper. These classified ads are the best way to find cars that you may want that are very close to were you live. These classifieds may also be listed online, as most newspapers now have an online version of their paper, and they almost always include their classified listings. Read over the ads for cars for sale by owner very carefully, and then call the ones you find interesting.

You can also find cars for sale by owner by surfing the Internet. There are more listings than just the classifieds included with your local paper or on their website. There are many sites that are designed just to help owners sell their cars to people in their community. My dad found his truck this way, but he did have to drive a few hours to get it. It was worth it though, because he got a great deal, and he has had very little trouble with his vehicle. The benefit of this site is that often the listings of cars for sale by owner are more detailed and you can often see pictures.

There is one draw back of buying cars for sale by owner. Many times, they do not come with a warranty, and you don’t know the history of the car or how well the engine is running. This is why you should always get a report on the history of the car, and always have a mechanic look it over for you before you buy. There may be hidden rust you cannot see, or perhaps someone may find that the transmission is about to give out. If you still want to by the car, you have a bargaining chip to get a lower price if you find something is wrong. Cars for sale by owner are only a good deal if you know what you are getting.
