Alternatively you can convert your SMS tone from MP3 format to WAV format using MP3 to WAV converter, and then use wav file as an alert tone by just go to Start>File Explorer>My Device>Windows, just dump the WAV file in Windows without placing it in any folders, if cant find the Windows folder via Activesync try to paste the WAV file in your storage card first then transfer the WAV file from there to your Windows folder using cut and paste.

Lately the mobile phone vendors have been applying for mobile phone storage card if connected with a PC or laptop using a data cable. This has advantages because we do not need to open the phone (not for hotswap memory card) and remove memory card, memory card can be seen directly in the PC and even mobile phone is going directly be recognized as a storage card.

This is not experienced by the user or users O2 Atom PDA and Pocket PC in general, where the user must move out the memory card from the PDA if they want to add file or transfer data from PC to PDA and vice versa. All PDA with any operating system (OS) experience with such things, but this is not experienced for the PDA that has been upgraded it's OS to WM6 Professional. One day a while back I was wondering how to share some photos from my Windows Mobile phone on Twitter. I looked at various things, but realised that I really wanted them on Flickr too! So I came up with this Application.

So this is really easy. Install the CAB file above, just copy it to your device and click on it in File Manager.

Next Find the little green icon in your Programs folder that says TwitterMyFlickr.

When TwitterMyFlicker launches you can select an exisiting picture or take a new Snap!
Then just enter some info about the photo (if you want);
and a Tweet (if you don’t just the link will be posted);
and enter your Twitter account details and click Upload!
Then if this is the first time you’ve FlickrMyTwitter you’ll see a Flickr web page. Log in, it’ll give the application access to your Flickr account.
When it’s logged in click Continue.
Then a couple of moments later you’ll get a message with your Tweet and the TinyURL for you picture. Oh and it’ll be posted on Twitter!
Finally, if you want to save your credentials, click Menu and then Save Accounts
Menu and Change Picture lets you change the picture if you go wrong.

To install a modem driver on the O2 Atom, the following ways that can be followed to install the modem driver PDA or Smart phone. This step is under way to install GRAPHITE O2 Modem Driver on Windows XP SP2 with ActiveSync version 4.5 and the SIM card.

Step as follows:

Make sure that GPRS is active and has been set, so that can be used to surf the internet via hand phone. Also make sure that the hand phone or PDA in circumstances not connected with the data cable first.
Disable ActiveSync connection on the computer or laptop.
Activate the Modem Link of your PDA.
Start - Programs - Connectivity - Modem Link.

For PDA:

On the menu select USB connection, bolts unused rate, Access point name match with the card you use, to empty the PDA, then select Activate.
Then plug-in USB cable, and computer modem will detect it.
Install the modem driver to your computer or laptop.

Create a Dial Up Connection.

FingerSuite replaces standard menu and message box for Windows Mobile devices. The resulting menus and alert boxes are much more attractive and also easier to use with your finger.

It works (so far) with HTC diamond with out any issues. Well done the DevThe improvements are already implemented in HTC's new TouchFlo3D 2, but will of course not come to our older device.

It also works fine on LG-KS20 wm6. The only bug is that when you tried to reset the device, it didn't works anything after the Confirm Reset dialog appears. So you have to pull out battery for reset.

If you've just installed older version, I strongly recommend you to uninstall and SOFTRESET device before installing new version.

Installation on device is mandatory (if you need more space, delete *_vga.png on QVGA device or *_qvga.png on VGA device from installation folder).

on installation take the cab file that u download place it on your phone and run it using file explorer install it like normal on storage card and then go to programs and run the apps, to customise go to the "settings" part of your phone on the 2nd tab and there will be the icon to change its settings. How to surf the net with Pocket PC via LAN using Bluetooth

Beside conect the internet via GPRS using Pocket PC, you also able to surf the net via a Local Area Network (LAN) using wifi, USB cable and using Bluetooth.

Here are steps to conect to the Area Network (LAN) via bluetooth. Before do it, first you have to prepare some components needed:

Bluetooth USB Adaptor
ocket PC with Bluetooth included
desktop PC or Laptop PC hooked into a LAN (it can be a wireless or wired LAN)

The Bluetooth Access Point was not required, because you can connect through Activesync to the LAN through the Bluetooth USB Adaptor. The LAN does not have to be wireless. Here are the steps to set this up:

Install Active sync. This should have come with your Pocket PC software on the target PC (which is already working on your LAN).
Install the Bluetooth USB Adaptor software.
Insert the USB Adaptor into the USB port on the target PC when required in STEP 2.
Determine the COM port for the bluetooth SERIAL. This can be found in the Windows Device Manager. You can locate the Device Manager by going to START>CONTROL PANEL > SYSTEM. Choose HARDWARE and then click the Device Manager. Then click on the Ports and you should see the Bluetooth COM ports. On my machine it was COM 4.
Run the Activesync software and choose FILE>Connection Settings. Make sure that only the first and last checkboxes are set. First checkbox should read: Allow serial cable or infrared connection to this COM port: in the dropdown menu - this should be set to the COM port in STEP 4 (in my case this was COM port 4). The last checkbox should read Show status icon in Taskbar. DO NOT CHECK the other checkboxes.
Turn on your Pocket PC and make sure that Bluetooth is turned on. For the Pocket PC I was using a flashing blue light indicates that Bluetooth is turned on and enabled.
Start the Bluetooth Neighborhood software and see that both the target PC and Pocket PC are discovered.
Create an Activesync link on the Pocket PC. This link can be created under the Bluetooth Manager. It will guide you through a series of screens where you click NEXT and then choose the target PC. If you get an connection failed, you might need to soft reset the Pocket PC (I did). A soft reset can be accomplished by inserting a pin or some other tiny object into the side hole on the Pocket PC. Then try to create an Active sync link again.

If all has gone well then the Pocket PC should now be connected to the target PC and you can go in and use the Pocket PC Internet Explorer to browse and interact on the web.

O2 PDA known in two types of Reset, the Soft Reset and Hard Reset. Their PDA is usually done when the unit become hang both in one program or all running programs on the PDA so that it can not work normally. So, what the difference between the Soft Reset and Hard Reset?

The difference is only related to the data problem. Conducting Soft Reset will not remove data, such as Contact, Calendar, Appointments, Photo Program, the install, etc.. While Hard Reset will delete all data on the O2 PDA. To make Soft Reset, just by push the soft reset slot/button using your PDA stylus pen, where usually there is a Reset slot/button in the bottom left or right of your O2 PDA. Meanwhile, how to Hard Reset the PDA O2 itself, almost all the same punch a button together with the Reset button Power. Hard Reset is done when the problem cannot be found and need to be overcame the standard default (factory settings / factory default) on your PDA. To do hart reset on O2 Stealth type, is a bit different, and here are the following steps:

Before Hard Reset, Backup data first because you go after Hard Reset all your data will be lost.
Remove battery then install again, make sure the contents battery must be above 50%
Input SD Card or Dummy
Press Green + Red key + Camera + Power together and hold out until the Update Utility
Utility immediately after the exit pin Reset button on the right side of the bottom using the stylus.
Then Press the button again Cameras + Windows + OK unison until a DSK Format
Loading process is completed and Hard Reset

How to Setting up O2 xda II as a USB Modem on Win XP

Today we will try to set our O2 xda II Pocket PC as USB modem on Windows XP Notebook via GPRS.

Make sure that your GSM provider has a GPRS service. Actualy O2 XDA II is use HTC Himalaya aka PPCW.Net. So this tips should be aplly to other pocket PC or PDA phone that use HTC Himalayas, like i-Mate Phone Edition or T-Mobile MDAII.

Okey let start. If you don’t have driver called USBMDM.inf and USBModem_Dialer.exe, so you must first download and install the driver first.

Installation

On your PC, disabling the USB port in the ActiveSync setting, to make sure that your Pocket PC Phone Edition isn't connect with your PC.
On the device tap Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Beam -> and disable "Receive all incoming beams".
And then tap Start -> Programs -> Wireless Modem.
As "Connection Type" selected "USB" and tap the "Start" button.
Now connect your Phone Edition with your PC by using the USB cradle or a USB sync cable.
Your PC will found a new hardware, that indicate with USB device small icon shown on the Windows XP bottom task bar like you can see below:
Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and press "Next".
Select "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install." from the next screen and press "Next" again.
Your modem should be recognized now. To install the Himalaya driver select "Have Disk" and press "Next".
Find the file "USBMDM.inf" (you've downloaded previously), select it and press "Open".
Confirm to install that driver and if you get a warning that this driver hasn't passed the Windows XP Logo certification continue anyway.
Done, the new driver was successfully installed if you see the following message:
After installation you have a new USB Modem called "HTC USB Modem" in Control Panel
-> Phone and Modem Options on your PC.

Dialing GPRS

Open "USBModem_Dialer.exe" which was also the part of the ZIP file you've previously downloaded from PPCW.Net.
Enter "User Name:", "Password" you need to access the GPRS network and add the "APN:" you carrier gave you.
Now press "Dial" to connect your PC via your HTC Himalaya to the GPRS network.
If everything went fine you will get a notification from Windows XP that you are successfully connected. And also you Pocket PC Phone Edition notifies you about a successful connection.

That's it, you are ready to enjoy the true wireless Internet through GPRS now - wherever you are and wherever you go!
