What up people?

Been a loooooooooong time fam. I can’t remember the last time I actually blogged come to think of it. I missed throwing my darts & conversing with the people but I just ain’t really feeling social media these days. Too much WACK S**t & far too many Attention Seeking WHORES (Men Included) for me. So really the motive to write today simply came down to nothing but the power in knowing I can write, publish and say how I feel UNFILTERED on my own platform. Now that is control and decision-making power we all have everyday but routinely fail to exercise. So since I don’t know when my next verbal thesis will be stated on the blogspot I want to make this one worth your time.

Today it was announced that former President General Muhammadu Buhari (GMB) running under the APC political party will resume his post after defeating incumbent President Jonanthan Goodluck aka…the man with the RUN DMC hat. Like many Nigerians I believe I have been following the election outcome since Saturday morning. That is my first RED Flag right there. So in a country in which the average Nigerian can barely make say $5 a day but everybody and their momma got 3 smartphones we still are counting votes on paper? WTF!!!! I mean yes this one na serious Na Wa O! Another troubling concern is all these people talking about the power of the vote, democracy, change has come; do you know that in a country of nearly 180 million people it took less than 30 million votes in total to determine who our next President will be? Omo Kaaaaaaaaai this one too no be small Na Wa O! And of the 25 plus million voters how many of you did cast your votes solely on the promise of a sack of rice & goat to feed your belly? (I am not making this up). SMH

So I will close out my rant today on one the out-going president and two on my commentary on the in coming newly elected. I was not in Nigeria over weekend so therefore obviously I did not have a vote. However; I do recall it was only 5 years ago or so that all of Nigeria hailed “Mr. RUN DMC” as the Messiah abi? The Nigerian Obama! Sey una forget? The one that will “FREE” us from our Military past & disconnected leadership. These were all the sentiments put out there when it was rumored that IBB was considering the idea of running for the highest office in our country. But now only to fast forward 5 years later and all the characteristics and traits in a leader we so vigorously shunned “WE” the majority is now saying is what our country needs in order to regain solid footing and slowing down Boko Haram. How FICKLE many of you out there are. You stand for NUFFIN.

I want to wish Mr. Buhari the Best of Luck in his term as our president and leader. His job will be daunting and very difficult in the days, weeks, months and years ahead. I wish for him good health as we have already succumb to the experience of losing a president in the past to bad health and being left to be lead by a village idiot with his RUN DMC hat. The themes and messaging of GMB’s campaign easily resonated with commoners such as myself as well as other Nigerians but gone for me are the days for euphoria over change. Change is a constant in life good or bad so I do not see this as life changing like so many others. If you really want to see leadership and learn about Nigeria’s greats who have been internationally respected and revered by heads of states all over the world just go on youtube and watch documentaries on men such as Alhaji Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa official visit to USA 1961. If these types of past Nigerian leaders don’t give you chills and pride in our country then you do not know the standard we should be upholding in our highest office. One quick question before I exit, how many of you that even voted knew the policies of GMB before electing him as the next President of Nigeria? If you do or do not I recommend you educate yourself as the expectations should be that we hold him to his promise and vision for a better Nigeria.

Man I am really disappointed that my boy AP is done for the season and for that matter his career will be FOREVER tarnished regardless of the outcome with the child abuse indictment. How he disciplines and to what degree he chooses to discipline his children will remain a point of contention. This never should have been a debate about what is the right way or wrong way to discipline a child. We all can agree that as a parent our number responsibility should be to provide and protect our children. Unfortunately, we all got it backwards when 30, 40 and 50 year old adults start looking up to 18, 19 and 20 year old athletes as heroes because of their ability to dribble a soccer ball, throw a football and slam dunk a basketball then we all are out of wack and our critical thinking abilities becomes cloudy at best. And here I was all set to talk about my visit to the Nigerian embassy in recent weeks and things I took away from the experience, well I guess there is always next week.

As much as sports were created really to help past-time and serve as a release or outlet from the everyday grind, too much of it is life imitating sports or sports imitating life. What is undoubtedly different about professional sports and the athletes of color that play them is how they are treated by the majority white media that cover them when s**t hit the fan. Quick question for the people; have we now eradicated domestic violence now in America after the Ray Rice video? Have adults stopped spanking or disciplining their children because of the Adrian Peterson indictment? The hypocrisy in all of this was merely weeks ago the same media ripping and crucifying these young men were showering these larger than life figures with superlatives. Is it only me but why do I just continue to take issue with the idea that the National Football League (NFL) in its own ignorance still continues to take the position that somehow it suppose to lead change and help fix all of our social issues and many of America’s ugly truth that people just rather turn the other cheek to.

Well here is an underlying thought that I have now witnessed when athletes of color get into legal trouble, it is not only the act or crime in question that draws the public ire but equally vexing to the majority white public is the idea that millionaire athletes of color are being given preferential treatment and that the law does not apply to them. What a concept? I mean the idea of injustice in America is now only pertaining to athletes being put on probation for striking their partner, proof of excessive beatings on a child that will be plea to a lessor crime with a very good possibility of no incarceration. So I ask the question; was the outrage of these incidents only tied to their acts of negligent behavior or the reactions from law enforcement and judges that gave or will only give a slap on the wrist and tell their heroes to go score three touchdowns on Sunday for their fantasy football teams.

This will for sure go down truly as a week to forget on so many accounts. Let’s rewind all the way back to this past Saturday when Naija put up a STINKER of a performance at home in a shocking loss to Congo of all people. This was the SUPA EAGLES first competitive home loss dating back 31 years. I mean WTF!!! Keshi needs to go. Mikel needs to go. All of these fake a** wanna be B-Boys with their mo-hawks and rubbish display of football quality are all a BIG embarrassment. This is so painful to consider but I am almost to the point that I can’t keep defending incompetence and lack of effort. Maybe it is time I take a break from Naija football for a while. What next? Oh, I got destroyed in fantasy football in the opening week of NFL and I was shamed for this by my boy for my dud of a performance to compound things on social media.

As a kid and for that mattert in all my years I have always been told or reminded the importance of telling the truth. I mean this is something we hear from parents, teachers, coaches, priest/imams, law enforcement, judges, bosses and our significant others daily. So why is it so difficult for our brains to comprehend this simple human action when we get caught in a jam? How come our first instinct is to lie, lie and keep lying hoping desperately that our lies will dig us out of the rut we got ourselves in.

This week through the Ray Rice video the whole world got to see since Monday what happens when things go from bad to worse. I find the actions of the former Baltimore Raven reprehensible and disgraceful. I ain’t with that weak minded thinking when a male puts his hands on a woman as a way to exert his dominance. If you so tough and want to scrap there are many dudes up my way that you can pay a visit to that will help take care of all that pent up aggression.

What we saw play out before our eyes on all of the news outlets was a powerful entity, a trillion dollar franchise called the NFL totally missing those simple early life lectures and lessons about telling the truth and now has found itself buried so deep in cover up that it wish it had never attempted to carryout after the public backlash. Roger Goodell and his pompous a** underestimated the power of the video being witnessed by millions only because for so long he had functioned and lived in a world full of lies that he does not know how to tell the truth any longer. Playing damage control and spinning stories to deflect the attention of what the root cause or behavior is how people become successful in the world of business and building an empire.

So what is the incentive in telling the truth? The douche that put his hands on his child’s mother was actually the one telling the truth all along. And what was his consequence for being forthright? Well he initially got suspended two games but the minute the video taped got released his playing career was over. I have heard of double jeopardy before but his subsequent release and indefinite suspension has now helped to coin the term RICE Jeopardy.

This is truly the best time of year for sports; SUPA Eagles AFCON qualifiers, NFL opening week, college football, English Premiership football and all of this for the next six months? Seriously? There can’t be anything better to do with your time every weekend. So I read online that supporters that attend Saturday’s SUPA Eagles vs. Congo match in Calabar will be subjected to Ebola screenings before gaining entrance into the stadium to root on our national team. SMH. Don’t know what is worse the ignorance exhibited throughout out West Africa since the outbreak or the response to how to manage the spread and transmitting of it. Anyways baba god give us GOALS this weekend O. UP SUPA Eagles & UP NAIJA. Let’s Go!

I got to catching up on some television recently and was watching the program Hard Nocks on HBO that chronicles the behind the scenes first take on running an NFL franchise, the dream of making an NFL roster and the pursuit of winning the championship. So during one of the episodes a position coach made a profound statement, “show me a man without a vice and I show you a psychopath or sociopath”. When I first heard it I was like wait a minute dude is right and wrong. Although I tend to agree with his statement both psychopaths and sociopaths share a common vice in which terrorizing and committing grueling acts of crime in their communities gives them the fulfillment similar to that of scoring the winning goal in a competitive sport.

This is why I love sports; there are so many life lessons one can take away from it when you choose to participate in an individual or team sport. By far the best part of it has got to be the crazy cast of characters and the relationships that you forge for a lifetime of memories. Playing sports I was told teaches you structure, discipline, commitment, sacrifice, etc… What they never tell you or will ever be able to prepare you for is what happens when your dreams get derailed and the real world comes calling. In the show Hard Knocks at the end of the series they show on camera what it looks like to fall short of your dreams and be rejected when another man’s opinion of you believes you simply are just not good enough.

Fortunately for me I got my rejection very early on in my teenage years so I got a head start on many of my peers. That rejection although very bitter to swallow and accept at the time became a true blessing in disguise. It forced me to focus and concentrate on my studies and helped me to recognize that a lifetime of success and achievement is far more rewarding than the short-term thrills and excitement of a life in my 20s.

Unfortunately, what that position coach failed to recognize in his statement about psychopaths and sociopaths is that many of the young people that will have their lifelong dreams and hopes dashed will now need to find a new vice or else will have 250lbs-300lbs plus men terrorizing others as they never got a head start in life until for many it was too late.

These simple English words are terms I just don’t get down with in my vocabulary i.e. fads, trends, & pop-culture. I like to use a more direct term like D**k Ridin’ especially with all the attention seeking behavior I have witnessed with this ALS Ice Bucket Challenge the past several weeks. Hold up; let’s back up for a second, I am totally for raising awareness and raising money for anything to combat illness, hunger, stopping wars, etc. My issue is watching people do something without doing their homework just for show to post on his/her social media timeline all in the name of “Attention Seeking”. I actually like some of the challenges and would have to say former US President George W. Bush had the best video thus far. Now the reason you will never catch the “P Man” do any challenges whatsoever is because I spent my primary school years growing up in Nigeria without any running hot water. The is the beauty of having options in life; when I had to boil water in order to take showers in the morning for school I don’t recall anybody promoting any ice bucket challenges on social media back then so why now would I want to volunteer for something my bones have yet to recover from all these years. Ok people; let me get focused…

So today at dinner with my “black family” (HILARIOUS because this is what my brother J coins it) we got to talking about our childhood a little bit. Now have you ever noticed how some people claim to remember things from their childhood as early as when they came out of their mother’s womb and others such as myself can’t remember a thing as far back as yesterday? Why is that you say? Well the therapist in my “black family” was able to use her clinical training and connected it to childhood trauma. I don’t necessarily agree with her assessment but I also will not discount it either. One thing for certain is getting flogged & caned in Naija’s old skool way of corporal punishment will most definitely create and cause some trauma in the life of a young person.

Truth is why do some of us love our childhood and why do others hate it? We can love it to the point that we want to recreate something similar for our own seeds or loath it enough that we do everything in our power to distance ourselves from the horror. Some of us that claim to have a perfect childhood and upbringing at times seem lost in their development as young adults while those of us that experienced pain and suffering use those encounters to fuel our success as men/women.

So I got to thinking good or bad, fun or misery our childhood like it or not and no matter how much we might try to shy from it as grown-ups, we all rely on it and use it to help establish our ethos on some level. The dreams and ambitions we hold on to as children often lead to many of our successes as well as the catastrophy that plague the minds and carry them into a very dark place.

By now you all have seen the disturbing news coverage of the incident in Ferguson, Missouri consisting of protesting, looting and violence after the shooting of an unarmed African American teenager by a on duty police officer. Typically when incidents such as these happen in America everybody in the black community is in an uproar for justice and the media capitalizes by running the same news coverage of looting, chaos and rage repeatedly to the point you become numb to it all.

The only person that can remotely come close to sharing or telling you what that young man experienced that night before he lost his life is another BLACK MALE. Black boys have always been a target of law enforcement all of our lives, some encounter the police for the first time before they become teenagers. A Black man and a white cop is like Dennis Rodman & Korea, texting & good judgment, congress & approval ratings and Nigerians & South Africans, all these things that just don’t go together.

It’s a shame that the young man lost his life this past weekend but his now remembered more for stealing than being senselessly gunned down by a police officer. This is the America I know too well in recent memory, the America in which it is open season on black boys and men the minute a pilgrim can justify feeling threatened or unsafe. But we all as Black men also play a role and should feel a sense of responsibility in the state we have put ourselves in too. For someone to value your life, you must value yours’ first. In order to command respect, one must give the respect.

The subsequent actions of everybody involved after the killing will not bring him back. The coverage by the media will continue to be well crafted so the fury and rage can continue in order to boost their ratings. Young black boys will continue to portray the wanna be life of a gangster, thug and the cool lifestyle of the “uneducated negro”.

So you would think that a budding Afrikan entrepreneur such as myself was all in for this week’s U.S. - Africa Summit in the DMV hosted by everybody’s favorite over-rated President. It didn’t event dawn on me until “Mr. CNN” of Canada called me to remind me of what was happening in my backyard and by the time I got to the office, I meant when I finally made it to the office from all the traffic delays and my dear Ms. Runa aka… “Ms. News @ 11 of the DMV” was asking me about all the street closings and road blockade for 50 Afrikan Head of States then I finally was able to put it together. In the mixed of an EBOLA crisis in Africa, I find it somehow very convenient that 50 leaders of Africa abandoned shop and took flight to go smooze at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with Barry & Michelle. I even saw our infamous village idiot of a President Goodluck with his COWBOY hat doing photo opps at the White House. SMH.

This is how Africa in recent memory continues to tackle serious issues head-on. When faced with a crisis, leaders in position of influence & power and people with money take their children and immediate family oversees and let the issues linger to the point that it penetrates into the fiber of its citizens. All the while these yahoooooos were all at the White House pledging with Barry a promise to work to get under control and isolate the current outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus and pledging to expand security cooperation with African nations in order to address threats of terrorism and human trafficking.

Look you can go do your own research and background investigation but fact is the Ebola matter was deemed a potential health crisis as far back as March 2014 by NGOs on the ground and Global Health officials. Was there a strategic and emphatic response orchestrated? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO; why because like my man Sonny from a Bronx Tale once told Colageno “Hey kid NOBODY Cares. Nobody cares about anyone but themselves. You should do what you want because nobody cares about you anyway”. So there you have it folks, the state of modern day Africa and its disappointing leaders.

One more thing for you all to consider – if your butt is Afrikan and you plan on traveling anytime in the next three months or so GOODLUCK at any of the international airports you step foot in. Am sure you will WELCOMED with open arms by TSA employees, security and flight attendants. As if you were not already being frowned upon before am certain now that NOBODY is going to be a bit paranoid and scared for his/her well-being as you grab the seat next to him/her.

OYA O; June 21^st is officially make or break for the SUPA Eagles World Cup hopes. The good thing is the match is the last one of the day so WIN we all will go to bed with smiles on our faces. LOSE and the country will be full of 100 plus million of MAAAAAAD Nigerians back home and in the diaspora. Am not really too sure what to expect; will Keshi’s LUCK officially run out and he can be giving his walking papers or will the boys spring a surprise and pull of a victory and all will be well with Nigeria once again. My prediction is neither; Naija will play to another draw and have everything once again come down to the last group match versus Argentina (one that I will miss by the way) and pull of an upset to advance into the second round. One good thing going for the SUPA Eagles tomorrow is I think I have identified the mole in my house that has put the kryptonite on our strikers boots so tomorrow’s match is looking promising sha.

I first heard back in 2010 that the World Cup in South Africa was the time for African countries to shine and legitimately contend for a championship on our soil all to watch four of the five countries representing Africa (we need to stop counting countries like Algeria, Eygpt, Tunisia, etc. as African football playing counties I beg) pull a total no show with the exception of Ghana who carried the banner. This year’s world cup in Brazil has actually proven to be worse based on the performances thus far. The way this is going Africa is at a point in which FIFA will start to take spots away in order to qualify for the next World Cup.

Now at the beginning of the week I stressed the importance of remaining positive no matter the outcome and being supportive of our boys no matter how dismal their performances. This leaves me to point out several observations from the first week of the World Cup games;

How come all these Afrikan players appear to be struggling in the heat of Brazil during these matches?
I Love to see the Ghana team come out before their matches as Asamoah Gyan leads the call & response rhythms
France have the best kits at this years tournament. The Nigerian glow in the dark green actually looks decent on TV.
CAMEROON what are you boys doing out there?
Why do all the Afrikan players got kits in their hair trying to look like a combination of James Brown, Rick James & Ready for the World with all of that SOUL GLO!
Can somebody tell Ghana never to wear that disgusting white uniform again the next time they take the pitch?
Somebody remind or tell these Nigerian footballers that they are not European or British. They trying too hard with their TURRR-RI-BLE accents.
Only Nigeria will have another bombing story make the news only this time at a viewing of world cup soccer?
It seems as if every-time I post a word of encouragement on social media for the Afrikan teams they follow up with a STINKER.

Ok people; let me get focused…

I woke up and realized today that nearly three plus years ago I wrote and posted my first blog titled “MY SUPA EAGLES”. Na Wa O! How so much has changed and stayed the same abi? Today in a matter of hours Nigeria will kickoff its 2014 World Cup campaign and truthfully nobody knows what to expect. I do know that if I was in Brazil as originally planned it would be a easier because I will be in a better position to work my Naija juju noni.

I know for starters unlike four years ago when I declared Peter Osaze Odemwingie as my favorite all-time Nigerian footballer I can no longer make such claims. I guess I too was drinking the Oyinbo na Oyinbo koolaid of Osaze before he decided to go HOLLYWOOD on Nigeria. The funny thing is his replacement and the Super Eagles new Number 11 is my new guy in the squad Victor Moses. So there is one change already.

Now what has remained the same is all of the lackluster performances in preparation for the World Cup. This is a known fact; if you no want ulcer, heart attack or hypertension then I strongly recommend make you no support Naija football. The agro dey too much I swear bros. For starters I still see too much of the DNA from the last team to represent Naija in South Africa in this current set-up.

So let me tell you a quick story before we get ready for today’s game; I traveled to South Africa to watch the Super Eagles play in the AFCON in 2013. For the sake of not name dropping (if you don’t know by now I HATE a name dropper) I will keep the player’s name out of this story. I was at the very first match in which a Super Eagles player was sent off for a Red Card. I always tell this story because at the very next game before tip-off against Zambia, my junior brother and I actually was sitting behind the Naija dugout and right in front of me was this very player. When the team came out to take their sitting and the suspended player walked up to approach me in conversation and nodded I totally DISMISSED him in disgust. At that very moment he was the reason I believed we were en route to a very quick exit at AFCON and Naija would be shamed by the football world once again. But as luck and destiny would have it, this very player returned from his suspension and was such a key contributor to the team winning the cup that he was named in the Best IX of the tournament.

There you have it, the reason why I tell this story is a reminder you never know who you will cross paths with in life. Today’s hero is tomorrow’s goat. In life there are ups & downs and if your Nigerian then everyday is a STRUGGLE. The important thing for this World Cup is that we rally amongst our national team in total support. Not our typical jump on the bandwagon when the team is successful and stone them in failure.

This is why football is the called the BEAUTIFUL game. All eleven players working together for the honor of their country. The Super Eagles of Nigeria are Africa’s version of the Yankees, Duke Blue Devils, Cowboys, Manchester United; LOVE or HATE, WIN or LOSE, we are “MUST SEE TV”. Yeah people I took off a week ago. Why? It is called I felt like it DAWGS. Lol. Nah life happens and every once in a while it is important to decompress. For example, I just had a moment today in which I got off the couch, put on my coat, walked out in the heavy rain straight towards my neighbor’s house knowing everybody was in their home, BANGED on the door so hard like the POOOO POOOOO on three separate occasions just wishing someone would open the door and dare talk s**t or try to explain why they just gotta keep parking in my spot in front of my crib after I done told you move your shittu somewhere else.

Now I don’t know if it was my ol’ lady that got me all heated since she wanted me to do suffin about it or was it more about me just looking to put a hurt on someone for a minute now after all the peanut butter & jelly bulls**t I done dealt with for like 2 weeks straight. I think it was for the best that nobody came to answer or open the door nor did anyone try to run their gums in a way that I would have had to get out of character. For all I know, I could be sitting down in the county prescient at this very time asking myself was it ever that serious? Truth is I was never scared of the people in the house it was that DAMN dogg I was worried about the whole walk up their drive way.

By now if you are all caught up on this season’s Game of Thrones you will know of the latest character that got the AX a few weeks back that made everybody so happy; yes KING Joffrey made all viewers of this cult following all too happy when his time finally came to be put on the chopping block. Truth is life with all good guys and choirboys would be all too mundane and WACK. We need bad guys as much as we need good guys. Take for example in Nigeria the entire country stays talking down and bad about those in public office and leadership as the devil, bad for the country and corrupt. But it is these same yahoooos throwing shade that perpetuate the same actions when given positions of authority and influence.

I mean villains or the bad guy as you may call it have always had an important role in the world of sports, entertainment, politics and families. Tony Montana, Alonzo from Training Day, “Nature Boy” Rick Flair, The Undertaker, Gordon Greko, Bernie Maddoff, Joe Fraizer, Iron Mike, 50 Cent, Duke Blue-Devils, Manchester United, Luis Suarez, Putin, George W., Obasanjo or Jonathan take your pick, that mean Uncle or Aunt. You get the point abi? I just noticed something now that every name I just listed have in common, they all got paper and really long paper at that with the exception of uncle and aunty. So being the bad guy PAYS.

There you have it folks it is time to put on the mask, make-up and play the role of the villain. For me that is not too difficult at all since it appears that label has been branded on my forehead by my friends and peers for years now. I guess all this week’s piece just confirmed to P now is WHY STOP.

Now that was a way to kick off the new season of Game of Thrones. WHOOOOOOA! I mean the production just never seems to disappoint whenever you think the programming is fitna fall off. My only request is to chill on all that HOMO shittu they just find a way to throw into the story lines that just seems so out of place. I get it already there were GAY dudes back in the day. This week I have decided that I am just going to vent. Now I can talk about how everybody wants to make such a big deal of Nigeria overtaking South Africa as the number one economy in Africa but am gonna save that for another week. Oh btw, to all of our South African Nigerian Haters out there “TAKE DAT TAKE DAT”! This week I want to vent about how we have NO privacy the more we continue to serve as consumer slaves to the world of retail and capitalism.

Can somebody explain to me why everything in our possession is now linked to our login username/password, email address, date of birth and social security number. Case in point I got a new smart phone this week and every feature on the freaking Samsung Galaxy phone is linked to my email or forces me to create some type of account. And all of this is to track and monitor my usage or my interest just to capitalize on my weaknesses in the retail sector.

I hate the fact that I cant even simply do a basic search without GOOGLE looking to solicit some other type of business from me all based on my recent search history on the internet. I swear these KAKs got it all figured out huh? And who is the one making all the money off this? It sure aint me or anyone of my peoples. I mean can someone be so violated and be so helpless all together. As if I don’t have my set of issues with being profiled already by you know who… And isn’t this some time of violation of our civil rights and liberties? Now am starting to sound like many of these CLUELESS Americans. Oh wait; I am one of them too. Lol. HILARIOUS.

Nah; I was just joking you all. I am just mad that once again somebody came up with another hustle to get paper at my expense while I was too busy setting my fantasy football lineup for the week. Took a week off last week to recharge the battery and attack this spring season the right way. So what went down the past two weeks? I took in a movie the past week and let me just say it like this if you ever LOVE da Hustle and the grind of getting money then the Wolf of Wall Street is your movie. That joint is truly PCP/COCAINE/RITALIN all in one but what I really liked about the movie is how the movie teaches you to sell CONFIDENCE and TRUST. You see the character Jordan was one confident fella, I mean the boy can sell you ICE in the WINTER for that matter and his confidence transferred into the trust his employees had in their leader. Now to have one of these two traits means you a legitimate contender in business but to have both means you are a “F**kin” Problem!

That is the game people; NOBODY is going to deal with you in any endeavor if you come off looking very unsure of yourself and if your reputation in the streets is that of Mayor Gray aka…”Mr. 419”. What I really liked about “Wolfie” was even though he chose to rat, he remained loyal and never gave up his partner. Now that fat porcelain teeth having bastard looked like he would rat out his own mama in order to keep from doing Fed time.

There you have it boys and girls if you want to live that comfortable and cushy government employee life then this aint for you. Wait a minute am talking about my self. Loool. SMH. This week I want to touch on this phenomenon in the Afrikan community call the INTERNET. Many of you have grown to refer to it as a global system of interconnected computer networks that serve billions of users worldwide. To the new Afrikan person on the continent that has now finally gained regular usage of this tool, the internet to them is the modern day encyclopedia in which nothing you can offer them is deemed legitimate or accurate if not publicized on the IN-TER-NET.

While I am on the topic of the internet let me quickly just state the obvious and move past the easy or cache “419” or email solicitation jokes that so many of you like to forward to my attention about how a relative of mine has asked you to be the beneficiary of $200 million unclaimed in some beneficiary account that does not exist. The funny thing about those emails to me are; 1) many of those solicitations actually have no ties to Nigeria anymore and 2) Just because you are of Nigerian decent those not mean you are not a target for this old and tired scam.

Now let me tell you what the latest trend is with Afrikans and their use of the internet, I honestly am unable to keep count of how many times somebody back home in Africa will inbox me to assist them with a purchase or the search of a particular product all to turnaround and start to argue with you on how you are trying to cheat them out of their money because the pricing they looked up did not match what you presented to them as a cost. My favorite is the opening statement of “I beg my friend don’t think say we don’t have internet here in Africa o”? My typical response is “well if you have all this information in the first place what you need me for then”??? Oh; throw in a couple of four letter words at the end of the sentence to boot.

Another habit all Afrikans have really going overboard with now is their excess consumption of blogs and all the negative gossip that dominates so many of its social media sites. As an individual that blogs as a means to bring Afrikans across the diaspora together this wave of trash is a total waste of energy and resources. I don’t care to know which nollywood actress is now sleeping with some Nigerian music artist or who spent the most money on a wedding with public money, etc.

An old hip hop record by rapper Biz-Markie had a catchy hook that went like this “it’s spring again, everybody knows it’s spring again, to the girls and boys and people above this is the time to fall in love”… Only TRU hip hop heads would have heard that record but the rest of yall buble gum, nursery rhyming and skinny jeans wearing yungins need to go do some homework.

Anyways what I love about the spring season and every year I kinda touch on something a little different, so this year am going to talk about how spring exposes people. Just like the march madness NCAA tournament, Spring is about the moment of truth, a lot of folks been pretending all winter long about how they gonna get right or sexy, how they gonna do some “spring cleaning” and they fitna make some power moves in the New Year. How is that working out thus far?

The typical end result is folks be quick to complain about how turning the clock forward one hour is WACK and interrupts their sleep, all the mulch outside that causes someone like myself with allergies can be very bad for your health, all them bird droppings tyou soon to encounter on your windshield and especially on the hood of your car after you just gave you it a nice wash will make you insanely MAD noni.

But there are some bright things to look forward to as well. How about we start with everybody getting funky fresh dressed for Easter. What about all those college basketball buzzer beaters and bracket buster? And how about my favorite, the return of “Game of Thrones”?

We in March and there is still snow outside here in the DMV. Na wa o! This has got to be the best winter ever with all the snow days shutting down schools, government and businesses. Shooooooo; I will take a two or three day workweek EVERYTIME. The other thing that I will take away from all the snow this winter is how the white stuff actually helped my fellow man regain some RESPECT out here in these G** a** times. I ain’t hear any of these females out here running their gums about not needing “NO MAN” with 4 feet of snow outside to shovel huh? How I wish this thing would continue into summer. Speaking of summer, looking like I might need to keep my butt home and rethink my Brazil World Cup trip to go watch the SUPA Eagles because after seeing that dud of a performance this past Wednesday versus the Mexicans man must not travel 20 plus hours and spend all that money to have Naija be shamed on a international stage o. The only thing impressive about the match was the unveiling of our new 2014 kits, Keshi best stop playing these half cast a je butter boys from Germany and bring back proven internationals if we plan to make noise in June o.

Ok people; let me get focused…

A friend of mine had sent me an article earlier in the week on some start-up firms and several of their cutting-edge business ideas and their growth both in domestic and international markets. So as we proceeded with our conversation, she too then began to introduce a very advanced system to address the issue of gun control and the use of illegal guns. I was like WHOA!

How many times have you sat there either browsing the internet, reading or watching something on television and the first thing that came to mind was “why couldn’t I or why didn’t I think of that”? It has now grown from a weekly to like a every other day occurrence for me in which I stay wanting to kick myself the more I learn or hear of all the new age systems regularly being generated by so many brilliant people.

All I can trace my tardiness and lack of ineptness to was maybe rather than spending 80% of my time watching ESPN and every soccer, football and basketball game playing I should be reading more and staying in tune with the news and current events better. Oh, how about instead of spending my entire drive playing all the new Naija Afrobeat records and listening to hours of totally useless debates on sportstalk radio, a few minutes of NPR or CSPAN radio would help enlighten me better on my quest to be a change agent.

The harsh truth is all those people and things we covet that really do not add value to our lives were strategically put place by some guy, company and institutions that simply would gladly continue to accept your business as a paying customer.

Yup, like clockwork I must say everything went as anticipated with my old man’s arrival this week in the DMV. Kangol Hat = Check. A Double Breasted Blazer Suite = Check. That “G” Stroll = Check. Ah, to be together again = PRICELESS. Come to think of it boy there sure is a whole lot of characters at these airports whenever am there to pick up my folks. Do ever catch yourself watching people and how they meet/greet loved ones? Some simply just make eye contact, others embrace with a hug or kiss, several whistle or scream and a few hold up signs. I even witnessed one exchange in which the wife/husband basically greeted each other like a business client being transported by his chauffer. Na wa o! Now for every Afrikan arrival on the other hand boy all you see is TEETH, BIG GRINS, ASHY LIPS and a whole bunch of relief with the look of “Thank God I am out of AFRICA”. Looool. SMH. How do I know because I was that person not too long ago. REAL Talk!

I am really going to try to do my best to not make this week’s blog a vent session. Oh well, I LIED. What I will try to have you think about is how we have quickly morphed into a generation that celebrates mediocrity and simply kicked excellence to the curb. Let me sight one or two quick examples alone from this past week, the National Basketball Association (NBA) wants everybody to believe that a journeyman career 3 points per game & 3 Rebound per game who has been a career marginal player was the only athlete qualified to be signed by the Brooklyn Nets on a 10 day contract. His stat line since his signing has been a ROBUST 1 Point per game & 0.7 Rebound Per game average. I guess it was never about marketing, public relations, and selling jersey’s to that one group that is fighting for the same rights as everybody out there huh? Hmmmmmmmm.

Then there is the guy that is supposedly transcending supports in the manner the likes of Jackie Robinson, Jim Brown, Bill Russell etc. all the great athletes of color in the 50s & 60s who paved the way to breakdown the color barriers in professional sports, what did he do in the National Football League (NFL) combine? Well how about he slower than molasses, softer than a twinkie-feeling and stiff as a board during testing. If you let the media tell you these two men are great examples for young people to look up to. SMH

For years you have heard me repeatedly express my frustration about the poor state of conviction the people of Nigeria have in improving the condition of the country. At this juncture I can’t think of many other Federal Republics comfortably functioning on mediocrity status better than Naija. If you poll a group of ten people I am willing to bet you that less than half can agree on a service or institution that has thrived or is currently excelling in the country at this juncture. Media = RUBBISH. Governance = TUR-RI-BLE. Education/Employment = FOR WHERE.

Choose as you may; I guess its back to continuing to award trophies, certificates, ribbons and honors to all participants who throw his/her name into the race. The old sentiment of every child is special and should be celebrated syndrome. Go ahead and lie to all children that rather than working hard to earn a reward, they better off whining or threatening to sue in order to get their much deserved recognition. Better yet why don’t you just continue to shove, force and re-run the same REEL like 1500X a day and force me to believe this person and his need for attention should become something I MUST take a liking to. Why because as he put it “This My Truth”.

So three weeks later into the crazy sports white people play and I still don’t get the Winter Olympics O. I mean they already have the X-Games which nobody watches so what is the purpose of this one? I can understand how speed skating, figure skating with its (double axle, triple toe loop), skiing, etc. all of those events require endurance, strength, hand/eye coordination and balance which authenticates ones athleticism. Now all that other dare devil peanut butter & jelly you know what is some made up shittu a group of white kids in their privileged mormon community somewhere in Utah came up with one day during recess. And thanks USA Hockey for going 0-2 versus Canada this week, you really made me look good after all the banter my nephew and I exchanged all week.

So while I was away on donuts last week doing absolutely nothing productive whatsoever with myself, my cousin sent me this youtube prank video this Nigerian kid pulled on his dad. The video must have gone viral because I can count of the top of my head five different conversations in which people brought it up to my attention. The video was well done. (S/O) to the kid behind the project; it seems like nowadays everybody is uploading some type of Vine video on the internet on topics like growing up Afrikan, Afrikan parents, fast naija girls (You know who you are).

Oh, you must have not yet received the memo, my Old Man is coming to the DMV to kick it with his namesake for a minute so we gonna do it B.I.G.

Now my pops aint like these stereotypical Afrikan parents you see or hear about as far as how he gets down. So this is my little quick play-by-play of how our reunion is going to go down in like 2 days;

When I arrive at the airport to pick him up his going to be very easy to spot; just check for the man with SWAG out da Roof! He gonna be in full native garb or he might even mess around and stunt on folks with his special custom 3 piece suite. Why because he gets his custom but you a CUSTOMER.

Till I die I must PROSTRATE ni o when first greeting my baba. That is the Yoruba custom. Now he might switch up on me and greet me back in Arabic, French, Portuguese, Spanish, even Old English self, it’s going to come down to which honey he trying to MACK in my presence. “IDMIU Keshi” as I fondly call him is an ambassador of the world. Lol.

Then am going to say dad how was your trip? Are you tired or hungry? His response would be something like a quick prayer for given the Most High all the Praise for reuniting us and then his standard response for everything will soon follow, “ANY-TIN” will do son.

Then we going to get on the road heading home from the airport and he will get into his stories like old times. And before you know it that 3 hour rush hour traffic gonna feel like a blur, why because I got the head & the patriarch riding SHUTGUN with P & there is no worries.

So goes the end of the NFL season folks. Is the Super Bowl still playing? Because I sure could use another two or three hours of seeing Peyton “Big Headed” Manning getting his brains beat in on the world’s biggest stage by the Seattle Seahawk defense. I could have sworn I heard the Seahawk defensive players shouting out not (Omaha) but O-YA-MA-MA every time they got a sack or an interception and took it to the house on that stiff neck KAK.

Anybody up for a quick story; ok so like a dumb dumb and an idiot I messed around and got my whip all banged up against a column at my work garage yesterday. SMH. What’s funny was right before I jacked up my car I was just abusing the car in front of me for not knowing how to drive blah blah blah… And to make matters worse, why do people when they get into an accident with their vehicle the first thing they want to blame it on is the person sitting right next to them in the passenger seat for talking too much and being a distraction. SMH. And why is that person sitting next to you ALWAYS quiet as a church mouse after it all goes down. HILARIOUS

Ok people; let me get focused…

You know as I was watching this past Super Bowl I got to thinking, the man up above is no joke and not to be messed with. I mean if there was ever a teaching moment it had to be watching the invisible aka…“Mr. Da GREATEST” blah blah blah get reduced to a pedestrian at best quarterback in the biggest game of his career. I mean NOBODY saw that coming and for it to be so one-sided all I could surmise was one best not get on the wrong side of da G.O.D.

So when I shared my thoughts this week with family and friends I got mixed responses. Some took the position of “FEAR” and others took the stance of “RESPECT” when it comes to ALMIGHTY. Either one is cool and acceptable as far as am concerned. But what you better not be is them folks out there who insist that there is no higher being or “Man Upstairs” watching over us.

I know of such a person personally who falls in this category of there is no after life or GOD. An older gentleman too at that, the irony in his belief is whenever he starts to experience discomfort, serious health issues or is admitted in the hospital the first person he calls for to heal and strengthen him is guess who???? You got it da G.O.D. All of his pomposity (yeah yall liked that word huh) goes out the window quick. This week’s blog is just a little reminder that as much as we all think we got everything under our watch in our control or grasp we are just pawns on a chessboard.

Man where do we start this week? How about the city of ATL and its ICE disaster this entire week because of what two inches of snow? Na Wa O! Seeing that on the television reminded of only how bad Nigeria could suffer if we ever get snow someday. I mean what I want to know is how did those people in their cars make it past 12 plus hours without using restrooms and not running out of gas in their cars because keep in mind it is winter so it ain’t like you can just shut off your engine and go to sleep in a freezing car out in the cold. Oh and how can I forget our village idiot of a President Goodluck posing for pictures with actress Goldie Hawn this week at some international conference. One of the headlines actually referred to Jonathan as the Anti-Gay Nigerian President. SMH. Now that is HILARIOUS. Boy I tell you what the GAY MAFIA better not try to mess with NAIJA O. Una go hear “This is Africa” noni. Oshaaaaaaamo.

Ok people; let me get focused…

I had somebody tell me something this week and all I could do, think and say was COME AGAIN? I mean I know you all out there have experienced this, you know that thought you get in your head when somebody just says something just CRAZY or just so UNTHHINKABLE and you get that look in your face like “did this fool just say this s**t to me with a straight face”? I know many of you all get this everyday because I am the one saying it to your faces so deal with it and guess what am still gonna keeping talking all RECKLESS too. SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIT.

For some reason this week, I just heard one ratchet mess after another like there was something in the water. So this really got me to thinking, a lot of people got a serious case of the diarrhea of the mouth out here and it is only getting worst. I mean in my case I just say dumb things just to get a rise out of a person but I can’t say that is the same case for a lot of these yahooooooooos.

I mean what to do what to do. Ignore it and keep it moving or check that individual on the spot so such behaviors can be nipped in the bud early. Now this those not necessarily apply to family and friends because hey we are stuck with family and as for the friends you can always get a new one. This is more for that select group of individuals you never really got down with like that or people who think they cool enough with you to go that far.

Now I am not recommending that you go around checking people at your work, gym, department stores or anything like that. Actually, no you must check them folks at the gym and your workplace because it is that group of people who get way too comfortable with you like yall go way back or something. Now if you try and you still getting disrespected you best handle that playa.

Let us start with this is day 15 of 100, ahhhhhhh you thought I forgot huh? How you making out so far? Me, myself I must say I was killing it up to day 8 then came the snow storm in the DMV and it was all downhill from there. SMH. That is why this is a 100 day challenge; how you start, what you do/don’t do in the middle really has no barring but where you finish is the bottom line result. So you can do absolutely nothing for 99 days and have a fantastic day 100 you still TRIUMPED technically.

Now several people have reached out to me and really got on my case for not giving the people what they want on blogspot consistently in recent months, you know what they were right and I was being lazy. However; what I am growing to learn in the past three plus months was best articulated recently by my dude Marty Kaan in the television show House of Lies, In Marty’s words “you end up chasing every nutbucket across the earth hoping he might just might hire your sorry a**. If we land this whale, we feast on the blubber until we land the next one and feast on that blubber, sell the ivory till we land the next one and the next one, and so on, and so and until we get some fat; acquire some blubber of our own. But until that day, you do what you gotta do baby. You eat sick fish a**”. Right now the “P Man” is being forced to eat a whole lotta fish a** but I see me getting my hands on my first blubber very soon baby. Stay tuned.

I had promised myself that I was going to mark the return of the blog spot this week by discussing something meaningful and of value. So let’s see what are some things worth exploring with the people?

Komla Dumor – talking about the very sad passing of the late BBC television personality who told and shared his stories on Africa with the world would surely have made my brother very happy. I personally think he got a man crush on dude the way he can just go on and on about Komla. So I will savor the piece for a later date.

Seattle Seahawk Footballer – talking about that corny dude would just make me end up catching an ulcer or popping a vein in my forehead. If I decide to write about this yahooooooo I think my cousin John Daniels would just be chuckling while sipping his glass of shiraz wine. But I can never write about a guy that disrespects my boy Crabtree. Shoooooo because of Crabtree the “P Man” is being forced to declare his winnings in fantasy football this season to Uncle Sam. Number 1 rule of BINNESS = Don’t F**k with da money.

What I want to talk about is this new hidden or coded form of blatant racism that I continue to see play out in today’s pop culture and news media when I hear time and time again on television the first thing out of a white person’s mouth is “how well spoken” he/she said person of color is. For some people this is not new information, for others this might be a revelation of some sort or your theory that I like to play the race card often. If you think I am making this up I beg the question please tell me(us) the last time you saw a person of color utter such words out of his/her mouth after speaking with a Caucasian.

Here is the irony behind such passive aggressive racism that exists in America today. If English is the country’s first language, for how much longer nobody really knows everybody gets a BIG FAT F. From news anchors, sports broadcasters, celebrities, radio personalities, company executives, the English that I hear everyday from the moment I exist my front door and put in a good 8-10 hours day of work (ok I lied maybe 4.5hrs) is simply Turrrrrr-Ri-Ble.

Somehow there is this notion or perception out there that not being of color automatically gives you a spot in the good grammar school category. And being of color limits you to four letter words or only two and three syllable words. Let’s not even think about trying to conjugate a verb while we at it. SMH.

Anyways such is life in these good ol’ United States of America.

Your boy been experiencing a major holiday & New Year hangover people. Don’t know if it’s the winter cold outside this week or just “P Love” don caught a serious case of NEGRO-I-DAS. Funny thing is I like being a bum and having nothing to do for as long as possible but like my homeboy said many years ago, “who you know wanna work”? Gotta be one of the realist conversations I ever had with someone. Anyways hope you all had terrific holiday season and safe New Year festivities. Wishing everybody a safe and prosperous 2014. We gotta start making these years count people. Oh real quick did anybody catch this week the “Tiger mom” in her new book referring to Nigerians as “Elite & Superior” in comparison to other ethnicities? HILARIOUS. I mean how often do you find something in print that actually depicts NIGERIANS as positive examples for others to aspire to become. I will take it and yes I am BETTER than you and I also have a book now to back it up too. Lol.

Ok people; let me get focused…

So during one of my long days in the office this week I took a break and surfed the web and came across one of those self-motivating homemade videos shot by this one girl who was experiencing major issues with her body, self-esteem and all the stuff that “other people struggle with”. Hmmmmmmmm; the video covers a 100 day period in the life of this very obese girl as she started to work on her fitness, improve her appearance blah blah blah… So after watching like a minute of this video I was like this is WACK, why not the “P Man” do his own 100 day challenge.

The more I thought about it, the quicker I started to come to my senses. Life on the couch snaking and watching sports everyday was a WIN WIN so no need to change things up at this point. But then the NIGERIAN in me, I mean the “ELITE & SUPERIOR” in me started to kick-in as I waffled back and forth about committing to a very challenging and rigorous 100 days ahead.

So as of 12:01am January 11, 2014 I am “ALL-IN” on my challenge. I have decided to keep my goals for the next 100 days to myself because they consist of both personal and professional ambitions that I aim to seek and conquer. However, you too can join me in this pursuit in the coming 100 days.

What one goal or goals would you like to focus on?

What is it three, four days before the NEW YEAR? WOW! My peoples I need you all to start getting YO mind Right NOW! Arguably nobody had a bigger year than “P Love” & his camp this year. NAIJA, NAIJA NAIJA - All the Way No Delay noni. Thank you for making us Suffer - Thank you for making us Grind! We thank Baba God for ALL his Blessings & Mercies. It is now time to start recharging that battery, ready for take off in a little over 96+ hours or so and cash out 2013.

The best thing about Jan.1^st every year for me is we all get a blank slate, a mulligan of sort to do right and correct our mistakes. Some of us sometimes would simply prefer the calendar never turns over and remains on-going like when you catch a hot hand in a game of craps or in my case when your running back Jamaal Charles gets busy and puts up 50pts on your opponent for the week and you still have seven players yet to take the field. (MAN I LOVE FANTASY FOOTBALL). Lol.

No matter where you stand on the issue, Like New Year’s or not the key is thou shall have NO Fear! Everyday you are afforded the blessing and opportunity to rise-up from that bed you should expect GREATNESS. Work the game plan of life and go to bed with a positive result and be prepared to do the same thing the next day. Oshaaaaaamo!

So somebody recently asked me if I was ready for the holidays, I was like dawgs “EVERYDAY is a holiday playboy” and in looking back at my last six weeks with my little girl I now realize this was the BEST and CHEAPEST vacation ever. So what where the highlights of daddy day-care? Hmmmmmm let me see….

1. How bout I have no idea the last time I slept for 3 straight hours w/o jumping up ON-Demand to feed my new boss.

2. How bout someone doing a number 2 on you & SMILING in your face the whole time because you a SUCKA & can’t do NUFFIN’ but clean it up and be thankful it didn’t get on you brand new sweater.

3. How about I gained like 15 lbs but didn’t care too much because I can always say I didn’t have time to make it to the gym everyday even though a baby sleeps like 20hrs a day.

4. PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES and Mo PICTURES.

5. How can I forget the whole doing a number 2 on that brand new outfit while on an outing and having to run into the backseat of your car for a wardrobe change.

6. How about always there to cheer on the SUPA Eagles & all of poppa’s fantasy football teams. WINNER WINNER O! And yes we made a whole lotta Diaper money this year too.

7. How about my little wizard stay “Ridin’ Around & Getting it” with Poppa.

8. How bout I like to CRY just for CRYIN sake.
