If you have not been on your Twitter account lately, you should be aware of Twitter Lists, which is the new feature that Twitter just released last week. This is the feature that allows the Twitter user to create groups.Twitter Logo

Lists enable the user to group users according to any variable that they choose. Some Examples:

  1. Geographic locations(Philly Bloggers)
  2. Occupations (Web Developers)
  3. Family(My family and friends Twitter accounts)
  4. Work(business contacts)
  5. Hobbies(mountain biking)

The uses are limitless.

Lists can be both public and private.  You don’t need to follow someone to add them to a list. Adding profiles to a private list does not let them know that they are on the list, but adding a profile to a public allows the profile to see that they are included on a list. Twitter takes the word privacy serious.

When would I want to use a private list?

  1. keep track of my competition.
  2. Using Twitter for research that you may want to keep private.
  3. Keep all your amorous profiles secret.
  4. Keep your family profiles secret.
  5. If you are ghost Tweeting, you can create a list of the profiles that you tweet on to have easy access to the stats.

Some Other Twitter List Tips:

  1. Got an idea for a list, then create your list and then add profiles.
  2. Check Out the Twitter Blog post announcing the Twitter List Feature.
  3. Check out my first blog post on Twitter Lists on Socialtivity.net.
  4. If you get added to a list, follow the list.
  5. When you are added to a list, your Tweets will show up on the Twitter list stream.
  6. If someone adds you to a cool list, not a list of “jerks”, then you might want to consider not only following the list, but also consider following the person.
  7. If you go to http://twitter.com/goodies/widgets you can get widgets that allow you to show lists as well as the standard Twitter stuff.

Where we live, to use a regular tmobile cell phone, a user needs to be in one a few certain locations, which happen to be on the outside of the home. There is one window where I can get 1 bar that wavers in and out, but this usually results in dropped calls.
We do have Vonage for our house phone, so I do have access to a phone, but my business cards use my cell, not my house phone.
When I am at home I continually have to go outside to check to see if I have missed any calls, and with winter is approaching checking my calls is going to require a bit to much exposure to the cold.

I did have a Samsung Katalyst which is one of the phones that Tmobile users can use to make calls via an Internet connection..unlimited calls for $10 a month extra.
This is okay as long as the Internet connection is stable, but all too often the Internet connection fluctuates and results in dropped calls.

Due to the poor signal quality, I want out of my Tmobile contract.

We have had people at our house that have both Verizon and Sprint, which both seem to have pretty good signals. Lizzie is not a fan of Sprint, so I believe Verizon will be our next carrier.

I will keep this post updated with my Tmobile contract status.

When he first started building windmills, he was 14, and not in school. Watch the video or better yet order his book if you want to learn more.

I love it,  he didn’t even know about Google. What is amazing is you look at what this young lad was able to accomplish with so very few resources. I am sure he will be able to accomplish some amazing things with all the resources that he now has at his disposal.

While sitting at the traffic light, I got my camera out and made this quick little video.
I wonder if Hooters pays Steve Carell for this advertising.

Inspite of Michael’s negative buffoon type character, I think the branding for Hooters is mostly positive.

As anyone who has visited the windy City, the possibility of using wind turbines is unlimited.

This new type of propeller-less windmill, the Windspire uses technology that the Egyptians used for grinding wheat over 3000 years ago.

The Windspire is manufactured by Mariah Power. I was reading their blog and see that they have a Windspire at a Vineyard in New York. I just might have to take a trip up to NY and check the Windspire out for myself.
I would love to get one of these for my house, which is on top of a hill and usually gets a pretty good breeze on most days.
