Hi everyone, I am sorry that I have been absent for a while now. The truth is I was struggling to juggle between my online life and real life.

A few years ago, me and my husband started an animal rescue centre in the Himalayas where we share the house with injured stray animals whom we take care of with the help of our team. Most of my time goes towards working with the local women who create handmade products so we can raise funds for the animal rescues and their treatments. For the longest time, I was adamant to not let go of My Owl Barn and somehow managed to switch between writing blog which I had always loved and my responsibility towards our huge undertaking.

I have now reached a point where I feel I can no longer do justice to the blog that has been my baby all this while, that I cherished all these years, and because of which I met so many amazing people like you all!

It's time for me to move on now and devotee myself to something that gives me the purpose of my life. I want to thank you all for staying with me and encouraging me. "My imagination ruled my every move. The pipes that stretched from the walls that lined the alleys were never just pipes. The tree in the front yard wasn’t just a tree. My father’s favorite car was more than just a vehicle. They were all beings, with a character and a life. So I drew pictures - a lot of pictures."

Jenny McCabe Carves Metal Plates To Create Beautiful Artwork

Jenny McCabe is a UK based artist and a printmaker with over 20 years of experience in the field of arts. When she was still studying Fine Art and printmaking at university, Jenny was making art for local businesses, schools and conducting workshops.

She creates metal plate etching by using aluminum plates that she then etches with copper sulphate. She hand cuts out her plates by using a jewellery saw and creates her own aquatints using enamel spray.

The artists' work is inspired by nature and often features birds and their fluid movements in her work. "The technical challenge of turning a piece of metal into a piece of art is driving the work. Drawing from memory and photographs she breathes life into the metal feathers with her decisive, quick, and energized mark-making."

Karen L Howard is a third generation wood carving artist from Phoenix, Arizona. She was introduced to the carving tools by her grandmother when she was only 9 years old. Karen completely dedicated herself to wood-carving when her husband met with an accident and she was stuck at home. She got interested in Waterfowl and began to sculpt ducks, geese, swans, and quail for professional competitions.

The artist is currently carving a range of characters for the trick and treat collection. Pumpkin heads, owls, ravens, and bats are all one-of-a-kind that are hand carved and painted by the artist before they are attached to a vintage tin.

Karen received a Master Folk Art Grant from the James C Irvine Foundation and San Joaquin Arts Council.
