A New Kit Finally.... and more Scentsy! :)

I found another reason today that I just adore Scentsy!! :)

I know that a lot of people live in apartment complexes. Some (or most, I'm not sure as I've never lived in one) do not allow burning candles due to the risk of fire in the complex. The fire alarms are set to very touchy so that just burning a small candle can set them off.
So for all of you candle lover's who signed a lease forbidding you to enjoy them, here you go!!
Scentsy does not use an open flame, but rather a 25-watt lightbulb to heat the wax, thus releasing the glorious scent into the air. And one block from a Scentsy bar lasts as long as a big jar candle.

Holy cow am I a busy woman!! I'm just putting the finishing touches on my newest kit, which will be released this week!! I'm aiming for Wednesday, but I'll give you more info when it's all together and ready to go!!

And I got my Christmas decorations up... at least inside. I didn't get enough path markers to go the length of the sidewalk, so I have to run back to the store and get another set before they can go up and stay up.

I just love, love, love this product. As I was telling a friend of mine, we both smoke, but refuse to do it indoors. I know, we're fine with polluting our lungs, but we refuse to pollute our houses. LOL But burning candles basically does the very thing that we avoid by not lighting up indoors- it pollutes the air and puts nasty, dirty soot into the air and makes it kinda gross inside. Scentsy products don't do that!! I get a CLEAN environment and an awesome smell!! How cool is that!!

As I start writing this post, I have to wonder how many of you are like me. I love to sit and scrap or do crafts and smell a scented candle... but really don't like the idea of an open flame mixed with the glues and other supplies that I normally have around. Oh, and to leave one burn when I walk out of the room with two nosy cats in the house? Absolutely out of the question.. as I'm sure as it would be in a house with little people too.
Hence why I fell in absolute love with Scentsy!
Picture the feeling of being able to enjoy any one of TONS of great scents, all without the flame, the dirt of the soot, and the safety issues at a minimum!!

Christmas cards and a freebie....

I spent a little bit of time decorating the house this weekend for Christmas... and since I was in the holiday spirit I figured I should start working on Christmas cards too.... now if I could just get my DH to work on his side of the family's list I'd be ready to go. LOL

Here's a few versions of cards I made....

I'm not sure which one I'm going to go with, or maybe 2 or even all three. I just can't seem to make up my mind. LOL I want them all sent out by the 12th, so I had better get my butt in gear eh?? LOL

I'm also working on a recipe collection for both my sister and my SIL. I'm going to have to run out and find a recipe holder/binder to go with the cards... but I'm hoping that Hobby Lobby has something and I don't have to run all the way down to Michael's to find one. I know I saw something similar at Barnes and Noble, but they themes were off so I'll have to keep my eyes open. I have some other gifts I'm making this year, I just have to get things organized. I'm making a list this week, and hopefully next Saturday when I get off work I can go get the rest of the supplies I need. But we shall see. Working 6 days is not fun... wears you out something fierce. And I'm not feeling quite up to par anyhow. I hate getting sick when I have so much to do!!

So... I went out shopping for Black Friday. I forgot just how awful it is out there. And I hate shopping anyhow, so that many people just makes my blood boil.
Is it out of fashion to be polite anymore?? I was looking down the kitchen aisle for a set of Rubbermaid bowls for my grandma for Christmas, and I run into a couple, probably my age, standing and looking at the skillets. Ok, no biggie, they're taking up the whole aisle, but they saw me so I assumed that they'd scoot a bit and let me pass. Nope. They looked dead at me- made eye contact even- and settled back into looking at the pans without moving an inch. Talk about blatantly rude!!
So, me being me, I turned my cart around, went the other direction while loudly saying, "I guess I'll just go &(%$* around!!"
That's not the only time that someone was beyond rude today either. Sheesh!!
And if you must take your children to the store with you (although I have no idea why you would want your child with you in that chaos) at least keep them from running away and crawling on shelves and acting like animals. My goodness!! I almost ran over about 8 kids just in the clothing section!!!
Now, Kohl's wasn't as bad.... attitude wise. It was just one of the longest lines I have ever seen in my entire life!! I've stood in lines for concert tickets that were shorter than that was!!

Here's what I got!! Yay!!

And here's my poor DH after me dragging him out to Kohl's with me. I let him bail out on the WalMart trip, but I'm thinking that Black Friday altogether is just a bit too much for him. LOL

And Mr. Grey's face in this pic just says exactly what he thinks about the entire situation. LMBO

Hi y'all!!!

This is going to be a short post to give you a quick freebie before you head out to brave the long lines and shopping mayhem this day-after-Thanksgiving!

And I just have to get in on the laptop sales too, just have to take my DH with me to read the specs. LOL And he's sooooo appreciative of being drug out to shop at 5am on Black Friday. :D (Can't you just feel the sarcasm dripping off of that statement!! LOL)

So... after years of my DH trying desperately to introduce me to his obsession with World of Warcraft, I finally gave in. :) I must say- it is pretty fun, especially when you add in the bonus of getting to spend time with him, albeit in the game. He's got me leveling my character alongside a new one of his own, and we chat in the game and he tries to teach me what I'm doing. I admit- the first say I drove him absolutely insane asking 20 million questions about what was going on, what something was, and what in the heck I was supposed to be doing. LOL

Here is a screenshot of my character, Shatki, a Shaman Orc. :)

Poor Tigger has been acting like a complete idiot since we moved. He decided that since we were in a new house, he needed to start "marking" everywhere. Grrrrrrr. I hate that more than anything. I am one of the only people I know that even though I smoke, I smell absolutely everything. My DH even makes fun of me because a lot of the time I don't bother setting the oven timer when I bake cuz I can just smell when it's done.
Okies, anyhow, we took Tigger to get fixed yesterday, and I'm praying that this "marking" crap stops now. If not, he may be getting the boot. I'll still feed him, but he may end up being an outdoor cat. I can't cope with smelling cat constantly. Love him to death, and I really feel like crying when I think of putting him out, but I really don't have many options.

WHEW Finally I'm Back!!

So much going on lately.
First of all, we finally got moved. Talk about time consuming and annoying. Sheesh.
But the excitement of setting up our new home was short lived. Doug had a stress induced Crohn's flare up and ended up hospitalized. Don't let him know this, but while he was in the hospital I had a little nervous breakdown of my own. Here we are walking into this huge purchase and commitment, and with him getting sick it just scared the buggers out of me.
We put off getting the internet hooked up until he was home to oversee it all. That and with him in the hospital, and no paycheck (and you can never guarantee how long the medical pay will take to process) we really couldn't afford it right away.

I just had to share this with you all....
I was attempting to pack, and this is Tigger helping me.
He packed himself!! Good Kitty!! LMBO!!

So.... we went to Austin's football game this weekend. He's so awesome! He got bumped up the the "A" squad, even though he's only a 4th grader. He's now playing side-by-side with 6th graders!! Go Austin!!

After the game was over, we went back to Emily's house to hang out, for Doug to fix her laptop and got pizza. The kids were being weird, and Marissa ended up having Austin sit on her lap. Don't they look goofy!! Look how big he is next to her.... and he's only 9 and she's 14!! LMBO!!

I just wanted to stop in and apologize for the 4Shared debacle today.

I've made the decision, after checking some of my files stored there, to delete all of the hosted freebies and start over. The files I checked were all broken unfortunately, and I don't like chancing any one else's security.

I will find another method to share for now until I hear more about the 4Shared issue.

Went back to work last night after a long (???) weekend. Ok, technically it's 3 days off, but it never feels like it being on third shift. We left Friday morning, and went back on monday night.... doesn't seem right does it? LOL
They laid off a bunch of our temps, so I'm having to train now, and it sucks. I had to do a bit of creative placement to get things to work out properly, but we made it work. Now if they would just listen to me we'd all be ok. LOL

What programs do you use to scrapbook?
Serif PhotoPlus and Serif PagePlus

What TV shows can you NOT miss?
I really like educational TV like "Clash of the Gods" on the History Channel, but I'm a sucker for bad humor like "South Park". My husband and I really enjoy watching bad science fiction movies together and of course we watch Adult Swim at night when we go to bed.

What movie can you watch over and over again?
Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail. I think I watched it every day for a month when I was pregnant with my oldest.

What do you listen to while scrapping?
I put my computer on shuffle. Most of my music is rock, which includes artists that would be considered heavy metal, alternative or even pop. Right now my favorites are Kelly Clarkson, All American Rejects and Shine Down.

What are your other hobbies/interests?
I love to do scrapbooking, digital and traditional, as well as reading as much as possible. I read all kinds of books, from nonfiction to mystery, young adult, junior fiction and supernatural fiction.

What camera do you use?
I just got a Kodak Easy Share with 7 zoom and 12 mega pixels. I would have liked a Cannon, but for my budget the Kodak was perfect. I'm loving it, by the way, my old camera was a Sony I bought in 2000 -- very big and bulky.

Who are your 3 fave designers?
Your stuff (Aubrey's Mom) is always great and I love the stuff available from Gunhild Storeide. Oh, and Scrappy Princess. Really I'm not overly picky. If I see something I like on a freebie listing, I grab it.

What digital product(s) are you a sucker for?
I love Ephemera pieces. Anything fun and quirky. A lot of my work in scrapbooking and art projects is based around using items in ways they weren't originally intended, so a little piece of ephemera can go a long way.

I read Twilight forever ago, and bought all of them, but my niece ran off with them to read and I just got them back from her. So, now I'm on a mission to get them all read!! LOL
I also have so much to do as far as scrapping this long weekend..... so I'll be one busy bee!

Hi all!!

I'm running late today, and won't be home until late tomorrow.... Doug has to go get his infusion in the morning, and he never feels good afterwards so I'm going to drive him so he can rest. Trust me, I'm taking a book with me!! The darned things take almost 2 hours, and usually he sleeps! LOL Sometimes I end up dozing off, but I feel like an idiot sleeping there. I snore and I grind my teeth in my sleep, so yeah, I don't like doing it in public. :D

I have a challenge for you all this month. I'm going to announce it bigger tomorrow and give you more details, but it's a good one. I have to make the reward yet too, but I'd like to get your input on it before I do this. So be expecting a poll tomorrow sometime..... :)

It's SEPTEMBER!!
Where in the heck did summer go?? Not that I'm complaining, fall is my favorite season! The colors, the holidays, and the FOOTBALL!! :)

Speaking of football, I soooo love my MIL! She got us tickets to the season opener of the Ohio State season! I'm so excited! Austin's a little annoyed that I'll be late getting to his game, but he told me that he knows how big of a "football nut" I am, and that it's ok. But I had to promise to get tickets for later in the season and take him too. LOL

Getting ready for football season.... and a new CU freebie

Hi y'all!!

This is the last weekend without football!! Yay!!
My MIL is already looking for tickets for us to go down to a game this season at the Horseshoe. Talk about rowdy! Ohio State football fans are the BEST!!

Here's some pix from last season's OSU vs. OU game....

If you are like my DH, then sports aren't really your cup-o-tea, but I love it!! I love NCAA football, MLB, NHL and the WNBA. I even sit and watch the headliners at the US Open and Wimbledon every year! LOL

I'm going to be getting things together and starting to make some sports-themed kits soon. My little man is also starting football next weekend, so I have to get prepared for a new 2009-2010 season scrapbook (maybe I'll finish last season's first....).

Playing around and a freebie

What a week!!!

Work was another scorcher, and we had our yearly Steer Roast, which got rained out by one massive thunderstorm and moved indoors. It didn't really bother me though- we still got an hour lunch break instead of the normal 30 min. LOL Any little extra makes me happy!!

I heard back yesterday from the real estate broker on my house: the paperwork was submitted to the county yesterday, and hopefully within the next three weeks we should be closing and able to move!! Yay!! Now I know I have to hit the overtime button at work and get some money squirreled away for some new craft things to decorate the house with!! Not to mention new fixtures and furniture....

Really I didn't get much done. I got CS4 installed on my hard drive, but when I did that, the settings in PSE got all outta whack and I had to spend a few hours getting everything put back the way I wanted!! LOL Try to upgrade and you always end up getting into more than you bargain for!!
