My Paper Addiction

New Year's Resolution

2011-01-01T16:11:00.003+11:00

It has been way too long since i last blogged.

I should try to blog more regularly but life gets the better of me.

New year's resolution: must work on getting the Etsy store up and running again. The exchange rate for the Australian dollar has been working it's magic.

I might even put some paper craft tutorials up. Don't know how bothered i'll be though. Guess we'll see =)

Morning tea with the gals!

2010-05-05T00:37:00.001+10:00

Was so awesome today...i finally got my muchly awaited NYX haul, Colorblends contacts (in colours sterling grey & gemstone green) and my sister got her Forever 21 haul. I can't wait to try my new colour contacts! I have amethyst at the moment and i must say, it is so lovely =) Aside from that, my NYX haul include 12 Round lippie shades and 6 Round lip glosses - so beautiful! I am thinking about including some swatches of them. My second NYX haul should be arriving soon and i can't wait!!!

Had a morning tea get together with my friends today and had so much cake, biscotti, marshmallows, fondue and fruit salad! Was crazy! I should have taken a photo of all the food we had. I brought a portion of it home for my sister as she has a very sweet tooth ^^

Here's a pic of a green tea tiramisu cake from http://chezannies.blogspot.com/2007/01/green-tea-ramisu.html, that my friend attempted to make. I have to say, it was absolutely GODLY! I was so happy when i saw how simple it is to make coz i want to make one myself!

I was also ecstatic to know that my Sephora Color Play 5 in 1 palette arrived safe and undamaged to Norm's place. Since Sephora do not ship internationally and do not accept international credit cards, i made my purchase via Amazon (thank gawd for Amazon!) and had it delivered to Norm's. So when i get to California this coming July, i wont need to bring any eyeshadows or blush.

There were several great things drew me towards this palette. I have read so many reviews about make up from Sephora and i thought to myself, for $29.50 it is worth a try - especially for 50 eyeshadows, 5 blushes and 10 lip colours!

It comes in 5 detachable palettes included in the one kit and the colours are organised in corresponding tones which is ideal for noobie make up enthusiasts like myself, saving us the trouble of mismatching eyeshadow colours.

At first i was attracted to the 5 detachable palette idea. How awesome, the detached palette would easily fit into my handbag but i realise, how often does one really reapply their eyeshadow or blush while out and about.

I can't wait to use it!!!! There are soooooo many great reviews about the value and quality of this set.

Now i'm tempted to get Sephora's Warm Colorful Artist Palette. The reviews for this palette are pretty disappointing though. Most people said that the eyeshadow had chunky glitter in it and not suitable for work and more suitable for outtings. So i guess i won't be getting it unless it goes on sale =)

So excited about going to California...yay!

Have a great day everyone!

It has been way too too long!

2010-05-02T02:12:00.002+10:00

I have neglected my scrapbooking and blog for way too long! I cannot believe it has been a year since my last post =( Shame on me! I feel like i lost my creative mojo and that it was clouded by all the stress that uni has brought upon me. I must admit, it did pay off. So happy to have been able to maintain a distinction average since starting my forensics course =)

I must also confess my on and off addiction to World of Warcraft. For those who understand and know the WoW game, i managed to level and maintain 3 x level 80 toons!

I should be ultra nerdy and screenshot my toons - they're so very cute looking!

I now have an 80 pally, huntard and shamana!

I went shopping with my sister today and managed to blow so much money on a mother's day pressie for mum!

Life is awesome...

Hope to be filling my pages with tutes and scrapbooking creations soon!

The Winner is...

Easter Embellishment Packs

2009-03-03T01:38:00.002+11:00

I started my Forensics course last week and boy, what a week it has been! My advanced standing application was sucessful so I won't have to do almost half of the course - woo hoo! Time saved AND money saved = extra woo hoo!

The campus is so far away from where i live so it takes a good 2-3 hour travel time by public transport =( Not to worry, i think this course will be worth it =P I had a pretty unsure and unorganised start but i think everything is now finally sorted with my timetable and enrolment so we're back on track.

Onto more scrappy news, I have added a few spring stock recently. The blossom fleurs are doing ok, i'll be adding more stock throughout the week. The majority of new stock to be added at the moment, will be tags.

The Easter sticker embellishment prizes (and their close-ups) are posted below:

They are cute and some are fabric, felt and glittery =) awwww kawaiiiii!

For your chance to win these 2 cute little packs, purchase any item or items from my Etsy store during March for your chance to be in the draw to win. I'll be placing names in a container and randomly select one name. Offer expires on the 31st March Etsy time and the winner will be selected and announced on the 1st April Etsy time.

Early Valentine's <3

2009-02-13T11:14:00.002+11:00

Today's the day that Coles Supermarkets will be donating all profits made on sales today to the bushfire appeal in Victoria. That surprised me that they would be willing to do that. So far i think the country has donated and raised about 60 million dollars. That's the aussie spirit!

A lot of stories have been told of tragedy as well as those of miracles. It is very disheartening to learn that most of the fires were deliberately lit.

Onto a different subject, my projects were published on the DCWV site on the 7th of February! I was so excited! I thought that they either didn't like my projects, didn't even bother looking at them or just simply forgot. Then i got an email from them =P woooo! You can find them in the 'idea gallery' link at www.dcwv.com. These were the projects published:

I have ordered some new stock of pearl rhinestones so i'll be working on listing them soon. I have some already and have been using them and i have to say, they are so beautiful! They add elegance to any project!! I used them on Norman's Valentine's card and it turned out great! In case you were wondering what it says, "My One & Only" in spanish. My darling is part Mexican and i know he'll love that it's in spanish =P

It's hard to believe that I'll be starting the forensics course soon...10 more days =( I've been having a lot of admin trouble with this university from day 1. I still am unable to register in my tutorials and my timetable still not sorted out - not looking forward to starting =(

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Happy (early) Valentine's!

It's a small world

2009-02-01T09:49:00.003+11:00

It's been agessssss since i've posted, i know *naughty naughty*

I can't believe my little vacation came and went so fast =( Only 6 weeks away but so much happened...

Overall, our trip was a success and i cannot wait to go back to California!!!!! i miss Norman a great deal =( I'm already planning to go back in June/July during end of semester break. Which reminds me, uni starts next month on the 23rd =( Time's going by so fast. My year off will finally come to an end and it will be back to hitting the books along with all the other things i already do =) It looks like it's going to be a busy year.

Scrapbooky wise, i haven't really been motivated to create anything new. I was taught how to use a loom by Norman's step mummy while i was visiting, so i have been making scarves and working on my crochetting skills hehe

i bought over a hundred bucks worth of scrapbooking supplies while i was there so i really should make the most of them =) Craft in America is absolute heaven. When Norman and i are more settled and we decide to live in the US for a short period of time, i think i'm going to be in pure craft bliss!

I'm going to leave you with some pix from Disneyland - it is truly the most magical place on earth!

This is a shot of the "It's a Small World" ride from the outside, very spectacular at night!!!

Finally not too lazy to upload pix...

2008-12-11T15:48:00.004+11:00

Wooo Weee! So i figure i should post up some pix and do some blogging before i escape to our next destination! We spent the last 3 days at Disneyland and the adventure park in Anaheim...it was so incredible. There are no words to describe the place.

Anyhoo, here are some pix of the start of my journey:

This was after landing at LAX...we got "flipped off" as soon as we left the airport. This is how they say hi in Los Angeles LoL

Look, they have Westfields too!

Rocked up at a Super 8...first night in L.A.

My discovery of Squirt!

On the road going back home:

It looked like a bushfire...

As we approached, it was just damn fog!

This is us inside the fog, how exciting!

Getting closer to home...

The "armpits" of California. I am living in a small town called Taft which is situated on top of petroleum fields.

I have already exceeded 1000 fotos on my camera ^^ The above fotos were only of the initial days here in California. This town is tinyyyyy...most shops are closed or run down. It gets as cold as 3 degree celcius at night and about 12 degree celcius during the day. People are laid back and most work on the oil fields.

Today we departed Anaheim to end our 3 day extravaganza at Disney. Norman's neighbour was kind enough to take us around Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. Totally hawt...it's so gorgeous here. I think i want to desperately attend UCLA now for my second or final year of forensics.

I'm tired. I'm bummed at the moment. Gotta recover for next destination: Las Vegas, Nevada.

Might post more pix tomorrow...

2008-11-27T08:41:00.002+11:00

* * * HAPPY THANKSGIVING! * * *

I can't wait to have my first thanksgiving dinner! How exciting! Less than a week to go before I'll be in Cali-forn-aiiiii-ayyyyy!!! WooT!!!!!!
I'm still not sure whether i should put a halt on my Etsy store sales or not =o/ wahhhh

Today i get my Hep B vaccine shot =o( I hate needles so i think i might faint at the sight of seeing the injection needle - not good.
Similar to the Cervical Cancer vaccine injection, the complete course takes THREE shots =o( NoOoOoOo! Better to be safe than sorry i guess.

Boo has a case of the fleas =o( We've given him his flea treatment thingy so hopefully he'll be flealess sometime soon. He discovered some interesting ways to deal with the itchiness. He's been using the bottom edges of the couch to scratch his back - he gets underneath and rubs against the couch. It's hilarious to watch. I think he feels so good that he starts to grunt when he gets really into it. Hilarious.
The flea treatment course takes up to 4 weeks so hopefully he stops feeling to itch himself soon.

Pictures of Boo below show him making good use of our couch...

And this is him on a different day....

God bless his little heart lolz!

Only he could get away with doing stuff like this =P

Random Ramblings

2008-11-14T05:22:00.003+11:00

Time flies! In less than 3 weeks i'll be in Cali-forn-ai-ay! How awesome is that?! I think i should start making a list of crap to pack before my excitement consumes me ^^ Vegas...Disneyland...San Fran...Pismo...Hollywood...Weeeeee! I've been a bit distracted lately working full time hours and only recently had more time to spare.

I bought a simple fondue set a couple of weeks ago and fotos below were taken by my sister of our first fondue night at home =)

I made our neighbour these cute sets of xmas cards to say thanks for letting me carpool with her the last 3 weeks =) I am in love with the pink set - more modern and steps away from the traditional colours HaWt!

Norman and i had our 2 year anniversary last month *big smile* I'm such a lucky girl like you wouldn't believe =) There are so many things about him that make my heart melt and 2 years on, i love him more. So cheesy but tis true.

After working so much this year, i have learnt so much about people. It makes me wonder if in every workplace there are people as unkind as those in my own workplace lol We will call a certain someone Mr A - 'A' for you-know-what. He has this permanent face of distaste like he has something lodged in his rectum - i am not kidding, He never smiles. He must be very unhappy all the time. Mr A scolded me for not purchasing a particular item from our store (i had purchased it from another store in the same shopping complex as us 'coz it was cheaper) and was making lamo comments...what an A-hole. Mr A never says hi to you. Mr A never has anything positive to say. I feel very sorry for Mr A's wife. Mr A is mean to my sister ( My mum, cousin, sister and i all work at the same place). Mr A and his protege, Mr B, is mean to my mum. So that's me venting. Mind you, Mr A is my boss - it might have been more obvious than i thought LoL It's really been bugging me, i am thinking of writing a complaint letter to head office about them and the way they treat staff *sigh*

On a good note, less time at work next year since i'll be back at uni =) Which reminds me, i better finalize all the paperwork for exemptions for my subjects before i leave Aus.

I hope others are going well with their scrapping =) I have been working on more xmas card sets for my sister so hopefully that will be my next post.

Over and out ~~

More rhinestones!!!!

2008-11-01T18:33:00.002+11:00

Woooot! I restocked some rhinestones and thinking about getting pearl ones to add to me collection =) Then they would also be available for Etsy sale too! Not sure how well/bad they would sell though, but i would definately use them myself =) Been working on more Etsy stock to sell so be expecting some shortly *hug*

Yuck yuck yuck

2008-10-24T21:40:00.002+11:00

I think too often people forget how to treat one another. I know one of the meanest people - not something i like to declare true but it is. *sigh* i wonder why for some people, bullying comes so easy. Or maybe there is a bully in all of us. lol

Blossoms & Butterflies

2008-10-16T15:51:00.003+11:00

This is a new project i am working on atm =) This was what i completed yesterday. Created using papers from DCWV's Blossoms & Butterflies collection. Gorgeous spring colours.

I manually hand cut all these lil cute butterflies...took me forever to but around the edges and the antennaes were the hardest part to cut around =(

After about an hour of watching new episodes of House and Fringe, it came out looking like this...

The glitter rub-ons are from MAMBI, as soon as i saw them i knew they would compliment this paper collection well. I love the 3D effect the butterflies give. There's still a lot to go! Planning to send this into DCWV and hopefully they publish it.

I'm still waiting on this massive patch download for WoW...a whopping 1.2 GB!!!!!! Jeebus! I'm being as patient as i can...DOWNLOAD FASTER ALREADY!!!! hehe

I so don't want or feel like going to work today =o/ I have to support my scrap habit somehow i guess lol not to mention our aussie dollar isn't doing too flash atm and i need all the dosh i can get before i go on vacation WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

7 More Wkz!

2008-10-10T20:30:00.003+11:00

Long weekend was awesome =) I spent the most of it with Carol & Kyle and even scored some yum brekky on Sunday morning hehe Then scored more food at Carol's family bbq thing. Happy birthday sweets, i hope u enjoyed turning 24...i still am a bit lost as to what to make Carol =o/ I was thinking a clear album. i cant seem to find the one i started ageeeeeees ago.

i've been on a paper craze and made a whole bunch of embellishments for my store. I mailed off all my orders last week so hopefully my customers have all received their orders by now =)

7 weeks to go^^ time sure is going by fastttttttttttttt --------------

For now, it looks like i have a chunk of next week off so i can work on some new scrap projects yay! I might even WoW!!! Which reminds me, i am definately buying the expansion =) I can't go on playing knowing a lvl 80 horde is going to whoop my ass.

Anyways, no new projects to post today so booooooo! but i do have a whole bunch of snowflowers listed!!! Weeeeeeeeee!

2008-10-02T15:04:00.006+10:00

I just finished the first episode of Paris Hilton's new reality TV series "Paris Hilton My BFF." How funny! Sometimes it's hard to determine whether all this crap is staged or whether it is real lolzor! God bless America...and MTV!

I've been WoW-ing quite a bit lately =o) I didn't realise how much i missed it until i started PvP-ing on my hunter again. I need Normzi to help me out with deciding which new gear to get with all my BG points =) Ryan's back on server with us YAY! Was shocked to hear that he was. We thought he quit lolzors! Turns out his comp failed so he was unable to play ^^ Welcome back =)

I finally completed Carly's gift today! I even made a matching greeting card =) Made from DCWV's paper. The paper is so pretty, i didn't think it needed any additional embellishments.

I finally got a chance to list a set of rhinestones on Etsy today. Adds sparkle to any project! I love them so much <3>

Took me forever to complete but i love the outcome <3>bright blue!!! It came with a combination lock =) 2 more months to go!!!!!!!!! Cannot wait!!!! I miss Norman terribly =( It's so hard this long distnace thing. Too bad i will miss our 2 year anniversary, Halloween and Thanksgiving tho =( Can't believe it's going to be our 2 years next month! How crazy! Cannot wait to cuddle the crap out of him again ^^

Happy scrappy y'all!

Hecticness

2008-09-16T11:36:00.002+10:00

ZOMG i wrote up a whole post last nite and then, for some freaken crappy reason, only the first sentence got published =o/

I'm watching this movie called "The Killing Gene" at the moment. Surprised to see Melissa George in it lolz

Had the most hectic 3 days last week! Friday night, Hai Van's sister and her husband spoiled the crap out of us and cooked us dinner. There was a lot of food and i was very impressed they whipped that up so fast =o) We had wine, choccies and watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall afterward. It was a very good night =o)

Then Saturday came, full 9 hour shift...then straight to Carly's for her 70's themed 21st! She looked awesomeness =o) I still am working on her gift =o/ It took me all of yesterday just to make embellishments for it. Gotta take some snaps of it before i give it to her =O) Hope u had heaps of fun Carly poo! The food was awesomeness too <3 Too bad i missed out on the stripped WAH!

Sunday was trivia night @ my place. I think it was a success and can't wait for the next one at Truong's place YAY! Can't wait to see her work as well. ^^

No time for scrappy scrappy lately =o( Gotta take Boo to see his specialist today. Hope he'll be okay =o) He's been more of himself lately which is good =p

Forensics Medicine course starts in 2 weeks! WEEEEEEE! Sounds very exciting =o)

Countdown to Cali Cali: less than 11 weeks to go =o)

~~Marianelly =)

Cherish Paper Bag Album

2008-09-08T15:05:00.003+10:00

This paper bag album was created using papers from the MAMBI (Me & My Big Ideas) range. Their "Scrappy Chic" collection is a unique vintage set. I love these papers!!! They will be available in my Etsy store shortly - I just need to watermark my pictures and they will be up in no time ^^ Aren't they just lovely?! Some of the papers have faint prints of a shabby chic rose design in pink, blue and olive green. I don't know if you can really tell, but i used that particular design for the front cover of this album =) Just lovely! This collection is great if you are aiming for a vintage old fashioned feel ^^

A whole heap of "incompletedness"

2008-09-08T13:58:00.002+10:00

This paper bag album brings me back =) I made it last August during a very rainy week. I sold it on eBay ^^ I love the happy colour combination =o) Some pictures further down below to show what i have been working on lately. Might give some people ideas on how pop dot embellishments can be used and the unique effect they have on scrapbooking projects =o)

Many embellishments have been used including ribbons, feathery and woolly fibres, cotton lace, ribbon labels, charms, buttons, rhinestone gems, brads, prima flowers and the list goes on.

Plenty of machine stitching and generous amount of gems and primas throughout the album for that added colour and bling! Happy! Happy! Happy!

This is a pop dot embellishment (designed and pieced by myself) on a clear flirty purse - my latest project. I haven't been able to do more with it coz of work and other commitments ><

I hate that ugly coloured ribbon handle and i must do something about it ><>

Love the clear sheets too? I'll be listing some for sale on Etsy when i get to it =o) In the meantime, I'll be aiming to finish this *clear* flirty purse. These are a lot of fun to make!! =)

Nothing exciting really going on as of this moment. I am VERYYYYYY excited about going to California and meeting my man's family thought. I counted, only 11 more weeks to go! That's super fast! I really should start thinking about getting that travel insurance before i forget completely hehe.

WOWWW my *new* CARL Mega Punch Aid just arrived! It is bliss!!!!! I love it! This can only mean one thing...MORE 3D embellishments to be made with ease! Haha yes, i am easily amused. Oh, here is the paper bag album i have been babbling on about. It is still incomplete - no decorated tags and fibre binding ><>

Happy Scrappy!

~~ Marianelly

2008-09-05T18:53:00.000+10:00

My 1ST ETSY sale! I was so excitedddd! WEEEEEEEE =0) I've been trying to get more stock ready for some photo shoots so i can upload my listings but the weather has been crap. I took fotos of my new daisy embellishment set and they didnt look as bright and happy as the other set coz of the cloudy and rainy weather >< My studio is a TOTAL mess! Below is a picture of my main work area...if u saw my room i think u'd be shocked at how chaotic it is atm hehe

At the moment, I am working on a *clear* flirty purse album with the same DCWV papers i've bn using to make stuff. I was thinking of using the new baby boy and girl papers for some clear albums. I found a tag album i had started but never got the chance to complete =) That might be my next project hehe Hopefully after this crap weather passes, i will be able to list some paper pack/kits for sale.

I can't believe it is already September! Next year i will be back at university. I'm pretty excited...for now hehe i know that once it starts i will be thinking to myself "why the hell did i do this to myself AGAIN?!?!" Hopefully forensic science is more interesting than the medical science stuff i put myself thru! It is going to be very interesting making friends with freshman kids who are going to 6 years younger than i am lol I'm looking forward to it actually yay!

Hope Boo gets better and stops seizing =o( So sad to watch our little furry friend go into his episodes and not be able to do anything about it. I think i know how Kyle felt that time his rabbit seized and died. Boo gets his test results tomorrow so hopefully we find out the exact cause and get him some real treatment other than that barbituate crap that has been making him all snoozy.

I've completed the main album i started a while ago using DCWV's Pocket Full of Posies papers =) It wasn't as spectacular as i hoped but still ok...i guess =o) I found some very cuuuuuuuuute DCWV baby boy & baby girl papers ^^ Very happy with them and can't wait to use them hehe

No luck with completing any Etsy listings at the moment. I am caught in a constant yo-yo with what prices to put on my paper and embellishment goodies ><

BaH! Need to get some travel insurance soonies too! Feeling overwhelmed with all these deals and prices =o/ I wanted to just wing it and go with one underwritten by Allianz despite the fact that some pplz have told me not to coz apparently Allianz overcharge on their prices or something like that. I should do it soon though...ONLY 3 MONTHS TO GO! AHHHHHHHH so excited yo! Which reminds me, i also should get some *BRIGHT* and *HAPPY* luggage bags for easy identification at the baggage carousel hehe and yes, i am thinking bright *PINK*

I have included this picture of Normie and I at Manly beach =p Everytime i see this pic, i feel a piece of my heart flutter followed by a sinking feeling >< I miss him so. To think that he is miles and miles on the other side of the planet! Why can't i just teleport there and back?! ^^ I miss bear cuddles!!!! I miss bear kisses!!! ^^ I will never ever forget those few days where i was very sick and he cooked a nice pot of beef soup! *licks lips* Awwww i could really go for some right now. I felt so nurtured - it was wonderful <3

Time to hit the sack ~~ Marianelly ^^

Maria's Etsy Store Opens!

2008-08-27T11:36:00.000+10:00

My camera arrived on Monday! Very quick delivery + service =o) I bought my new baby from www.digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au. I have taken some lovely pictures but haven't had the time to upload them to the PC as yet ^^

I finally opened my Etsy store after almost a year of repeatedly telling myself that I would "do it next week." Now the only trouble with this is, I have to do a photo shoot of all my items as well as write up item descriptions. This is going to take a crapload of time so i was thinking of doing one listing per day to ease the pain =o)

I'm so excited! I am finally doing this! WOOOOOOOO

YAY! Trivia night is coming underway and will be held @ my place! I only reached about 30 questions before i became very distracted with other stuff so i will have to make a note to myself to prepare for it =P What would be ideal prizes for everyone??? Just little knick knacks but what?!?! I was thinking of little notepads or stationary. Everyone loves stationary!!! I know my ladies will like it but i dunno whether the guys will lean towards that idea. LOL argh >< maybe i shall throw in some food too!

CHEESECAKE PPL! CHEESECAKE ME PLZ! hehe =P

My Boo

2008-08-23T11:59:00.000+10:00

I have been scrapbooking my arse off lately =p Very awesome, I feel like i still have my scrapbook mojo ^^ Our family's only digital camera took it's final breath of life last week and died on us so I can't post up any pix of my latest project using papers from Die Cuts With a View's collection, 'Pocket Full of Posies.' It's very loud and happy - just what i love =O)

I've been browsing other paper collections and am so envious of the popular scrapbook culture in America >< They have soooooo many COOL and EXCITING paper collections available to them at the moment...we don't really have anything as cool here at the moment =o( The new range from DCWV is the sex ;) Meh, I can't wait to go over to the States in December and splurge on scrapbooking supplies MUAHAHAHA =o) Norman says we can't go to the east-side of Bakersfield or we'll get shot =o( So hopefully those scrapbook stores on my "to visit" list aren't in those kind of areas...although i highly doubt a scrapbook store owner would open up in a hardcore gangsta area LoL I'm soooooooo excited!!!! Only 3 more months and one week and I'll be in Cali-ma-fornia!!!! WOOTERS!

My new camera should be arriving in about a week's time...then it shall be picture galore!!! How exciting! I think i should slow down on the splurging on my credit card hehe Julie wants to make out with my credit card, i think i do too!

I hate blogs without pix so i have littered this post with pictures of our favourite furry friend BOO! He's so funny sometimes. He's been very very persistent with the pets and cuddles lately. He will go on his hind legs and beg for pets! Then u pet him for a sec, then he will be back on his hind legs again and beg for more. Silly puppy.

I miss my Norman so badly at times. Long distance is so extremely hard. But u just gotta hold ur head up high and be patient =o) I need my Norman fix!!!

Enough babbling, back to scrapbooking i gooooooo weeeeeeeEeeeeeeEEeeeee!

At the moment, I am trying to figure out what kind of piece I want to accomplish next. I feel like using the Glitter Stack papers from Die Cuts With a View, I am quite fond of the chocolate and pink colour combination =P And I LOVE sparklies all over the pages!!! I think that shall be my next little project, a pink and chocolatey piece <3
