New week, same style

It is a hard night's day today and, I have to admit, my mood is not as cheerful and light as this bright, sunny day would suggest. Please, excuse my gloominess for I wish for a world filled with love and joy and some basic sense of responsibility and truth, things would be so much different if we weren't all that stupid (Einstein had a point when saying that "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.")

I'm leaving you for now with a few feel-good scenes of cozy living rooms, those to gather up with some friends for a cup of coffee, some good music and reckless chitchatting. Hope this week gets off beautifully, wherever you are, my friends!

White all over

Today I dreamt of snow. A quite bizarre dream that has left me with a disturbing emptiness in my stomach. I have to admit that I'm very influenced by all the political-economical-social evens that go on and on and on (seems like ages) in our little Greece. You know, TV and media can be great terrorizers, they keep manifesting on how we are going to starve to death in the best case scenario. Like my uncle says, peoples are like volcanos, you see the smoke coming out of the caldera but you never know when they are going to erupt. Keep my fingers crossed this crisis will end soon with the least of casualties.

I feel blessed and lucky that I have this blog, my happy place, and you all to spend our time together, share our ideas and inspirations, feed our souls with beauty while envisioning of a better, even more beautiful world. Thank you again for you love, sweeties ^_^

Although, I did not intend to blab today, it came out really spontaneously. All I wanted to share with you are these scandinavian aesthetic scenes, with that familial bright white light all over and the eclectic forms now and then decorating the place. Particularly in love with the large, unrefined dining table and the xl white carved mirror frame in the bedroom. What do you think?

Eclectic living

You have to admit that there are some rooms that are very far from being predictive and boring. These, that emerge the classicism and good taste of their owners along with that easy-going, everyday-used vibe that takes away any last hints of stylized, strict design. In a few words, spaces with personal attitude and essence. Like the above living rooms, where I can (oh, so easily) picture myself spending hours and days, totally blending in with the decoration! I love how cozy they look and that is thanks to all those textiles thrown simultaneously into the scene, like the carpets overlapping in the first image and the mix&matching pillows, or the side-to-side carpets below and that soft throw on the chaise in the last one (really, can I jump onto that chaise, like, now?).

Two kitchen insights I loved this morning; the polaroid patchwork over the dining spot to have you dreaming, smiling or longing for those moments spent with beloved ones and this mint green Jielde lamp (you can get it here) that lights the countertop in a playful manner.

Casual dining

One thing is cooking and the other thing is eating. And what better way to do so than gather up with beloved ones in inspiring places and have fun along the way. I'd choose one of the above for a chill out family lunch, with those large dining tables, the abundant day light to lit the scene and the open space to give a feeling of unity whatsoever. Ana pointed it out correctly; La cucina piccola fa la casa grande meaning that a little kitchen makes a large home (from here). So get a bit inspired today and plan a casual litl' thing for your close ones this weekend!

I'm drawn by these cheerfully colored spaces today. It might be the sun that came out unexpectedly or the feeling of optimism that I woke up to this morning. Anyhow, adding colorful textiles and mixing styles and textures can bring out an eclectic atmosphere without much effort. Just don't be afraid to give it a try (let your gut tell you what's good for your eyes and soul and you won't be disappointed- promise!).

Mix and match, florals and flowers, silk and satin, vintage and country, hues of ease and cheerful attitude. How about using old suitcases as a side table? And lots of fresh flowers to wipe out the misery of these cold days..

Feel good recipe

Pink and apricot with extra romance in the air and some positive attitude topping; that's the recipe for the day to start off nicely (tonight was the second night in a row that I woke up to the trembling of an earthquake! Thankfully, it was a small one, but it gave me the creeps nonetheless..).

Bold and bright dining

Contrasting dining spots with bold hues, bright lights and black details to define the atmosphere. Like the amazing wall painting in the first photo and the black eames chairs that soften the rustic monopoly of the table. Speaking of seating, what do you think of the bold red, rattan chairs in the second image? I love how they are upholstered with a tiki inspired print that, along with the multi-colored pillows and wall frames, give n exotic, easy-going breeze to the otherwise plain white scene.

Bedroom overload

After a good night's sleep (so good to sleep on your bed and not on a hospital chair..) that lasted more than 10 hours straight (!), my eyes see only bedrooms. Sunlit, easy-going, effortlessly styled bedrooms. With comfy beds, crisp linens, wooden elements and nature inspiration (whether the real thing through a window or artsy one on the walls). Which one is your favorite?

Warm hues, peaceful formations and an ambient, early afternoon light that emit the ideal scenery for a restful moment, whether this could be in a living room, a dining room or a nursery. I'm so glad I stumbled upon these great designs by Jute. Do visit their site for even more blissful atmospheres.

P.S. Thank you for your sweet comments and emails about my man's accident. He's feeling better already and hopefully will leave the hospital in the next couple of days..
