Yesterday, brother, nephew and me went to the mountain for an ADVENTURE. We started to descend from the top of the mountain and when we reach at the bottom of the mountain we saw a lone woman. We were not ALONE then somebody or someone in the middle of no where is also in the premises. We do not have any way to go but to just passed her as she passed as too. But we did not just keep quiet my brother talk to her as she is slowly closing us. Then I saw her bolo or machete!! A lone woman in the middle of the woods with a machete. What you will do if she is going to AMOK? Run? Fight? What you think?

Special thanks to Manang (a term of endearment to Filipino woman who are elder or senior citizen) who is willing to be taken a shot. She was smiling and joking us when I took this photo. She also warned us not to stay long at the river there might be a flash flood.

Hubby Made Me a Garden

As of this time, I am enjoying my one-month vacation here in the Philippines. However, even if hubby is thousand miles away from me we keep on communicating almost every day. He does not like to check his Facebook or emails but I told him to check on it because it is where I put many of my photos. Last mother’s day hubby found a site selling flowers post cheap flowers from Serenata. I checked the site immediately and I loved what I saw. The flowers are arranged beautifully and they are cheap I told hubby when I get back to Michigan I expect to have flowers waiting for me and that should be our favorite flower a pink rose! Men did not know that flowers made women smile. It is not only jewelry that it makes us smile but also flowers. Men should also know that not all-online flower shops are expensive. Like Serenata there, flowers are very affordable.

Last night hubby called me telling me that my garden is ready in fact; he already planted some of my favorite vegetables. I am so happy hubby made a garden for me this year I cannot wait to get home. I was checking last night on this site about gardening. Knowing the pros and cons, the zoning of your place, the kind of vegetables or plants that I have to plant is very important on getting a good produce. Right now, I am excited to see my garden in bloom. Do you have a garden too?

Mr & Mrs Baltimore Oriole

It's been almost eight years that I have not seen Baltimore Orioles. It was last year that I spotted one right above of me when I was taking photos of the Apple blossoms. Right there I believe that they are just around the corner. These year I bought a book from Cracker Barrel about birds and what to expect on a certain month. I also found out what specific fruit or bird food to put for specific birds. So one day I went to the store and did bird shopping. One thing with Baltimore Oriole they love jellies and oranges and I have plenty of those. For about a week of observing and prying if Orioles came it did. Not just the male Baltimore Oriole but also the female. I read that they are not the kind of bird that very easily go to a feeder and they like to stay on top of the bird and catching a very colorful vibrant orangey color is there weakness. Thankfully, the day before my flight coming to the Philippines a couple came and show there beautiful color and they seem like hungry, lol!

Growing up I already have the liking to take photos. However, unfortunately in the Philippines we do not have even a camera. That time the camera has films and buying a film and developing to cost a lot of money. Then taking video came out still we cannot afford to buy video cameras. That is why growing up we have limited photos of my siblings and family because of economic reason.

These time was different my passion of photography is taking a take off. Hubby bought dslr camera as a present two Christmas ago. I took my passion seriously and my photos are getting better and better. I also went video taking and I have many videos that I have to convert it to video to DVD. Transferring video to dvd is my ultimate goal because I want to preserve the memories that my family did.

Another photographer may it be pro or just a hobbyist is photo scanning. One work of a newbie photographer that needs a very good service and I find Photobin who has the best service online. Why not look and find it for yourself.

The first day I arrived here in my hometown my brother drove me around. In the city we lived there is an old Fort. It was the Spaniards who built the Fort and thankfully for the past three years the city council take over the Fort and preserved the place. Now the people could go visit anytime of the day and specially at night lovers love to visit the place and there the magic begins! ^_^

I am posting two kind of fences. The first one was taken at the swimming pool. These swimming pools are located in Timoga, Lanao Del Norte. The water is so cold it comes from the Lake.

You see many "Bungsod" here in my hometown. I do not know what it is called in English but I will call it sea fence.The purpose of this is to capture the fish. They put nets all around and when low tide came the fish have a hard time getting out or the fish may be confuse where to get out. So the fishermen will have a a good time harvesting the fish just right there at the sea fence/bungsod!

American Flag

I remember when I came here in the US for the very first time I saw US flags everywhere. I was touched to what I saw. I felt that Americans do show how patriotic they are by putting American flags in front of their house and commercial buildings that in some countries we do not see like these. One time it was Memorial Day and my first time to go with hubby. We were at a cemetery and I see so many American flags. Somebody did find a time to put all the flags big and small all over the place. It is very touching moment as we hear the voices of people recalling how they missed there loved ones. Moreover, the slow swift of air touches the American flags as it sway with splendor and might.

I became an American citizen three years ago and before we take our oath, they gave us a small American flag. I was very proud of my small flag when I get home I display it in our living room. Do you have American flags at home? I think we should do have it may it be small or big. This time I am thinking of buying a car flags to give to my relatives and friends. For sure many do love to display it on there cars too.

Well, the first time I set my foot here in the US my hubby brought me to Chili’s. I do not have any idea what to order I look at the menu and I am overwhelm how good the food on the picture looks like. Hubby told me I have to try everything but I cannot. Therefore, we often go to Chili’s all the time especially on Sunday’s after church.

Yesterday, a bunch of friend agreed to hang out together. We decided to go to Chili’s for one simple reason the food is good and the price is right. Many of my friends have not been there and so therefore have not tried there food and drinks. I who always go there suggested different food for them as well as the drink. One that stand out and my choice is CoronaRita. Yes friends CoronaRita at Chili's is the real thing it does taste good and the beer and the margarita are not contrasting to each other. It blends well and so it goes to you so smoothly and that makes it good. Of course, when there is a good drink food should be good too. So again, I suggested about the food that is my favorite as well as hubby and we came up with Triple Dipper a new Cheesteak Sliders and the 6 oz. sirloin steak, which is only $20.00 a dinner for two. In addition, because I am in there email club we got a free Chips and Queso and it is only in Chili’s. Do you think we came out there not full? We are full with just a little amount of money to spend.

One thing that I like with Chili’s too is that they always have something new. They change there menu often and the price is right. The ambiance is nice we do not feel like we are just a customer but a guest. There is a huge difference of being a customer and a guest and in Chili’s I feel a special guest. That day I was there with friends I am very impressed of CoronaRita I told hubby about it when I get home and he says I can get it again this coming Sunday. I told him could I get it next Sunday again he said yes because it is Mayo de Cinco, awesome! So friends if ever you have not visited Chili’s try to visit the place and try CoronaRita as well as there food. Architectural Design

Last month hubby and I went to Texas to visit relatives. It was my first time to visit San Antonio, Texas and I tell you what my hubby’s relatives there has huge house. It is not just an ordinary huge house but it was design well. All the nooks and crannies have its purpose not some other houses it looks huge from the outside but inside it is hallow but not in those houses that I have seen so far.

I remember when I was in high school instead of taking cooking and cosmetology I took drafting. It is in that subject in high school I learn that if you build a house you should hire an architect to design it. I thought a civil engineer is fine because they can also make plans but they are very different. Architectural Designer in Fort Lauderdale is one of the excellent designers in the country today. I only found there name while browsing the internet. I can only imagine how it feels when you seat down with an architect and talk about your dream home. That would be very exciting because that is what architects do. They get what you want and like in your house. How to put together your dream home is there number one priority and they are there to help us all the way from beginning to finish.

Have you seen houses now days that lacks design? I feel it is very commercialize because it has nothing to it. My hubby’s relatives houses are so beautiful I can live there ha-ha. While there we talk about how many years, it takes them to finish the house because from time to time they have to change something. What I learn is that it took two years to finish it. I was stunned when I heard it I cannot wait that long if it is my house. If given a chance I would love to have another house that has my choice of design. It would be exciting if an Architect could figure out what is in my mind. In addition, how cool it is when you see the result of your dream. How cool it is if you see that your dream house is there in front of you ready to be live in by you. Somehow, dreams could come true and would not stop dreaming.

I looked again the photo and reading the MEAT sign my eyes noticed tiny eyes on the side part of the photo. I looked at it closely it's a baby girl watching me. I did not noticed this girl when I took the photo that is why I am surprised to see it. I wonder what she is thinking when she saw me too. ^_^
