If you've been interested in PhotoReading or Speed-Reading for a longer time, you know there are a gazillion books on the subjects and it's not easy to take your pick.

Thus, I chose to write a bit on how I've developed my own High-Speed Learning Platform.

So in this article you will find both

How to develop your own platform

Get some specific tips for resources

 Amazon.com Widgets

The thing is, that if you would choose just one Speed Learning Program, I'd recommend PhotoReading as your weapon of choice. (I've listed some learning alternatives in the sidebar)

If you want to focus all your effort on one program, I'd go with PhotoReading ... but what I see so often, when people get a taste for the potential of high-speed learning, they want to take their skills even further.

So, my actual recommendation is to start with PhotoReading and combine it with other Speed Reading and Accelerated Learning Techniques to get even more results.

Once you know how to PhotoRead, it doesn't take that long to devour lot's of books and build your own custom approach to suit your needs and diverse situation. You can take the best each technique has to offer and synthesize what works for you.

Why I emhasize PhotoReading is because it truly is a technique unparalleled by normal Speed Reading or traditional Accelerated Learning. PhotoReading is actually a pivotal technique in the borderline of these two fields of learning.

So how do you get started with your own personal approach...?

How to develop your own High-Speed Learning Platform
Here are the steps:

Learn PhotoReading (either from the book, Personal Learning Program, or live in a PhotoReading Seminar ... or even in individual coaching)

Choose a number of interesting books on topics such as reading, accelerated learning, multiple intelligences, speed reading, mind mapping, email management, creativity, special education and so on. You can check out the two lists accompanying this article for tips.

PhotoRead all your books with the Synthetic Reading approach, which you learned in the PhotoReading program. You will gain a real in-depth understanding of various subjects with this approach. The process involves both accelerated learning type of exercises and speed reading.

Summarize and start using the tools that best work for your current situation. Pick 3-5 of your favorite newly found additions to your current reading style and focus on applying those in the near future.

Repeat the Syntetic Reading routine after a few months time with the same books and some additional one's and iterate new additions to your own platform.

Here another list of interesting books worth checking out:

 Amazon.com Widgets

I hope this was helpful. In other words: they don't really use what they learned that much.

On the other hand what they really compliment afterwards is what they've developed as a result of studying ... and that is better learning skills.

The funny part in all this is that rarely do Universities or other schools teach their students how to learn. You either get it by yourself or you don't!

I just commented on an article on What do you think should be taught in highschool? that took up a good point. The author takes up a good point mentioning that - as he points out - usually when posed this questions, people tend to think in terms of study subjects, not the actual end result.

And what is the outcome of studying most graduates feel was most worthful for them? The outcome of aqcuiring better learning skills.

So, should one all together think that much in terms of subjects? Should they worry if they "picked the right one's"?

I don't think so.

When you spend more time with high-speed learning techniques, or Accelerated Learning, you do learn the actual subjects faster - even though initially learning these might ask for some time and commitment.

When I actually first heard about PhotoReading during my university years, I knew it was a done deal for me. I signed up with no hesitations, since I knew they came with a full money-back guarantee.

Within six months I had completely changed my learning approach based on everything I learned and was moving forward in full gear.

With that said there are two things I want to point out:

First of all, I gave myself 6 months to really apply and incorporate what I learned at the PhotoReading live seminar. Sure, I learned PhotoReading in two days, but it took me more time to establish PhotoReading as a habit.

(So, as a side comment: my work as a PhotoReading Instructor has focused quite a lot in not just teaching people PhotoReading, but having them built it as a habit and skill they own and practice day in, day out.)

The second point was that I've grown in skill ever since! Yes, it get's even better with time ... when you keep using the techniques. I've mixed PhotoReading with other Accelerated Learning and high-speed learning techniques and really liked the results. I've mentioned some here in the blog and look forward to writing on them more extensively.

As a conclusion, the funny thing is most educational institutions most often neglect teaching how to be really good in learning or how to find, evaluate and use information. Thus, it is most often left to the individual.

My suggestion for any one reading this article would be to really work on your learning skills first ... when they are in order, one can always adapt to the situation.

...
Sakari Turunen is a Certified PhotoReading Instructor from Finland. He works with corporations and educational institutions to spread out high-speed learning skills and to make PhotoReading a house-hold name to anyone looking to get ahead as a learner. To learn more of Sakari's work or to contact him, you can check out his PhotoReading website.
...........

In one episode he also demonstrated his skills in PhotoReading.

Watch the video here and read the background story I just wrote below it.

Actually, Derren has developed his PhotoReading skills (or skills of using his mind to the fullest) so far that it is already Photographic Memory. Actually, he may have taken them further than a regular PhotoReader every has use for! :)

There is a difference between PhotoReading and Photographic memory, which I want you to know, as you watch this video.

Photographic memory is having the image representation in your mind of something real (something that appears in the real world in physical form). Some one with photographic memory can access this image in his/her mind and describe it to detail. With books, they might see the page with the eyes of their mind and just find relevant chapters.

Some people have photographic memory from birth and I have not heard of reliable ways of developing photographic memory through some program. (I admit that I haven't really searched for these, so there might be some).

PhotoReading, on the other hand, is a technique, that can learned by anyone to use their whole mind for reading and speed up their reading 3 to 10 times from what they were capable of before. And literally anyone can get results with PhotoReading - 98 % of the people who complete the PhotoReading course have success with the techniques. (The 2 % that are not included comes from people who just want the refund, which is provided if asked for)

Actually, in the olden days we PhotoReading Instructors used to have "The Dictionary Game" as a part of the seminar - and it is still included in the PhotoReading self-study program. This sort of borders to photographic memory.

In the dictionary game you PhotoRead a dictionary and ask a friend to pull out words so you can tell where they appear. This is a game which helps you to understand how your other-than-conscious mind tells you about the information you have PhotoRead.

In the beginning you might only get 1 right out of ten. With practice your "rate" gets better. The best I heard of was a PhotoReader who could know 96 % ot the words his friend pulled out of the dictionary.

But this I want to make clear: there is no need for you to develop Photographic memory to get there results with PhotoReading. Even a beginning PhotoReader can expect to read a book in one third of the time - without any signs of photographic memory. This comes from the fact that with PhotoReading you learn to use your mind better.

Derren Brown here has done a lot with his mind and learned several different techniques. It might be that he was gifted with Photographic memory from birth or he might have developed it through practicing PhotoReading, accelerated learning, NLP, hypnosis, meditation, and other mind sciences.

You might consider Derren's example as something that you also can learn with diligent practice of PhotoReading and other techniques.

On the other hand you might just have a laugh with the video and newer bother to work your skill to that level. What ever you decide is fine with me :)

And again, if you are new to PhotoReading, yo might consider taking the live PhotoReading seminar or ordering the PhotoReading self-study (regular / deluxe). If you can afford it, I recommend the deluxe version of the self-study.

If you want to learn PhotoReading exclusively with me, please contact me through PhotoReading training website.
...........

However, this is still "work in progress", meaning that I still need to work on the wording to get the idea crystal-clear - so feel free to comment, thus helping me to do it right.

This explanation is written for an experienced PhotoReader, so some passages may not open for some one, who doesn't know how to PhotoRead yet. If you don't, you can get the PhotoReading Self-study here with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

As I said, so far this explanation has resonated with a lot of people, when explained in a conversation. Here it goes:

Traditional reading focuses on getting analytical understanding of a book. PhotoReading takes a different approach, that complements the traditional approach.

It aims to give the reader intuitive understanding, first, to get to the analytical understanding, second. Once you have and intuition on something (like the contents of a book) you can easily figure out the specifics (like answers to your questions).

PhotoReading (or the PhotoFlipping part of it) gives you intuitive understanding of the text. Sometimes this intuitive understanding is enough.

PhotoFlipping (the third step as described here) takes 2-4 minutes to most books, i.e. no time at all, so you get what you want in less than 10 minutes (with preparation or visualizations afterwards).

For most books you read, the analytical understanding is what you aim for ... or at least you think you need it, since it is the prevailing way of thinking in our modern society.

For some people, like students and business people, this might be most of the time - they just want to know the information and be able to cite it.

But why have intuitive understanding in the first place?

When you have the intuitive understanding, it is easier to gain the analytical one; maybe while you are reading the book normally, you already feel the text is familiar in some way, you can easily locate relevant passages and move through the book in no-time-at-all, really grasping it's essence.

Also, when you have the intuitive understanding, you might get a grasp of something deeper in the material, sort of a hidden level.

Here is where I need to make something clear:

You don't need to be an "intuitive person" to get results with PhotoReading. I mean, most people don't consider themselves "intuitive".

At the same time, the PhotoReading Seminar has a 97 % success rate, since anyone willing to just give it a try can experience the same benefits.

Intuition is something every one of us has ... and you can use it for your benefit, no matter if you are aware of it or do it without even knowing that you are.

Actually, using PhotoReading is a great way to improve your intuition, or awareness of it.

And then again, awereness to your intuition is just an "added benefit" of PhotoReading that not everyone is interested in in the first place. There are lot's of PhotoReaders who use the 5-step system for their benefit and don't care to spend time on thinking on intuition.

Let's explore some examples of why intuition is a good thing and what might be the benefits of using it more consciously.

Some people find it easy to listen to their intuition; maybe these are people who have experience with NLP, hypnosis, meditation, relaxation techniques or for some other reason permit them selves to notice the messages (symbols, hunches, gut feelings, ...) their inner mind gives them.

Others might not be so keen to listen to their intuition; maybe they have a hard time relaxing and trusting that the messages from their inner mind are just that: messages from the inner mind. Opening to this communication might take some time.

However, as I said earlier, these people can have massive gain from using the PhotoReading Whole Mind System. The PhotoFlipping might feel irrelevant while doing it and even afterwards, but after doing it, they notice spending less time reading.

Some people have such a hard time letting go of their perfectionism (or other traits that hold them back) that they can only account for the usefulness of the activation techniques (and not PhotoFlipping). These are most likely people, who gave up on PhotoFlipping after a few tries.

People who keep on PhotoFlipping will sooner or later notice the difference. Every book they PhotoFlip moves them one step closer to understanding, how their conscious and other-than-conscious mind work together.

And then the finale :

For everyone who keeps on PhotoFlipping, every book increases the intution they get from this part of the system. Thus, they might see pictures in their mind about the content or get a sense of the book in another way.

Other exercises (like Genious Code or Memory Optimizer) are helpful, too, to get this communication between the conscious and the other-than-conscious mind working. All in all, PhotoReading engages the whole mind, both the intuitive and analytical parts; using the both let's you draw the best either one can offer.

And this leads to a personal revelation:

For me, learning to PhotoRead opened my intuition. Because of this, I steered my life to a direction more aligned with who I was.

I speeded up my university studies, and really focused on subjects that interested me (not subjects that very popular among my peers or that would give a good impression on my CV). I gave up the career path other people tried to enforce on me.

I also found other ways to open my intuition. I started to meditate, do energy healing, do psychic readings and explore what our soul/mind/body really can accomplish. And to not sound just "fluffy and flowery", I started to make really good financial decisions with "intuitive investing", i.e. only working with traders and funds that I "got a good feeling from", and thus increased my portfolio value over 10 times within a year (and the same success curve still holds to date).

Now I "work at my hobby" and only do stuff I like and live like I feel is good. Yes, I have my problems like anyone else, I'm not saying "learn PhotoReading and all is well", but I can really say that I live a life I designed.

So, keep on PhotoFlipping and using the 5-step system, since it is not "just about reading"...

As a summary, maybe I need to say this again, with more emphasis: The PhotoFlipping part of the PhotoReading Whole Mind System is the single most important step that will help anyone doing it frequently to really tap to their intuition and increase the communication between their conscious everyday mind and the other-than-conscious mind.

...........

I mean, accelerating your learning to a whole new level is what this Whole Mind System (as they call it) accomplishes.

Look, it may sound hypeish, but there is no exaggeration in the statement that even a newbie PhotoReader can get their reading done in one third of the time, compared to where they were before with regular reading.

But now, about this blog. Yes, why I started blogging?

Well, I learned the PhotoReading Whole Mind System years ago in a seminar, and after promising results made the commitment to master these skills.

I mean, I'm not saying that I had immeadiate success or instant breakthrough. No, this is not a story of volcanic eruptions, rockets blasting into space or enlightenment or anything.

But for some reason there is this rumour going around, or at least a belief that maybe is not even put into words, where as people start thinking that taking the PhotoReading Seminar is like putting a supercomputer chip in your brain and it will cure all problems in an instant.

As with any skill, mastery comes with practise. It comes with "cracking the code", so to say, for you! Some one else can't do the hacking for you, in total.

For me, I managed to crack the code. I went on to learn, what these skills had to offer.

And eventually, it came to a time to me start sharing, what I had learned.

Too long have I kept my insights. They feel like bubbling inside me.

So, in the near future you can expect the door to the secrets of PhotoReading Mastery opened. My insights will be yours in the form of text, audio and video.

Sign up for the RSS feed to keep posted, as the journey continues...
...........
