Well, as some of you may know, I have a beauty and fashion blog. I once thought it was better to have separate blogs; however, keeping up with both has been extremely challenging. For that reason, I decided to merge my fashion blog with my beauty blog. I think this will allow me to focus on making my (one) blog my priority and I will be able to give you more quality posts. This polkadots and lace outfit has been one of my go-to outfits for casual days. I think it is simple, cute, and comfortable. If I know I will be walking a lot, I just add a pair of flats and voila! I'm ready to head out. By the way, I'm aware that I have worn the same heels in the last outfits, but they are truly amazing. They are comfortable and the right heigh for me. If I love something, I wear it as often as I can.

Este atuendo de lunares con encaje ha sido uno de mis mas usados para los dias casuales. Pienso que es simple, bonito, y comodo. Si se que voy a caminar mucho, solo agrego unas ballerinas (flats) y Voila! ya estoy lista pasa salir. Por cierto, estoy consiente que he utilizado las mismas zapatillas en los últimos dos atuendos, pero cuando algo me gusta lo utilizo hasta mas no poder.

A Fun Blazer for a Casual Outfit (Un Saco Divertido Para un Atuendo Sencillo)

A fun print on a blazer, like the floral one I'm wearing here, can transform any boring outfit into an interesting one. Here, I'm wearing a simple black t-shirt with basic jeans. By adding this blazer and using a pair of nice and low heels, I transformed it into a fun outfit, perfect to go out with your girl friends or boyfriend.

Un saco con imprenta divertida, como el saco floral que tengo aqui, puede transformar cualquier atuendo aburrido en uno divertido. Aquí estoy usando una playera negra básica con jeans. Al agregar el saco, y al ponerme unas zapatillas en vez de flats o tenis, el atuendo se combierte en algo divertido que se puede usar para salir con tus amigos o tu novio.

How to Wear Stripes (Como Vestir Con Rayas Si Eres Gordita)

Stripes can be a little intimidating for some of us, especially if you are plus-size. For centuries, people have said that stripes make you look bigger. The truth is that stripes can be worn by anyone. You just need to make it work for you!

In this outfit, I wore one of my favorite blazers from... I'll let you guess... Yes, from Torrid. In order to break the stripes a little, I decided to wear it open. I can wear it closed too; however, some pieces can indeed make you look bigger. It all depends on the cut, style, and fabric. So, beware of that.

The peplum top is one of my favorite pieces, mainly because it is lace. I added red bottoms to make the outfit pop. For accessories, I decided to go with gold since the hardware of the Just Fab purse is also gold. By the way, that purse is my favorite bags of the moment. Isn't it cute? The shoes and the necklace are also my favorite items of the month. I have been wearing them quite often!

Vestir con rayas puede ser un poco intimidante, especialmente si eres gordita, ya que por muchos años se ha dicho que las rayas te hacen ver mas grande. La verdad es que pueden ser usadas por todos. Solo

tienes que hacer que las prendas con rayas trabajen a tu favor!

En este atuendo utilize uno de mis sacos favorites de.... adivinen... Si, de Torrid. Para "romper" un

poco la fluidez de las rayas, decidi utilizarla abierta. Tambien la puedo usar cerrada; sin embargo, en algunas piezas eso puede hacer que si te veas mas grande/gordita. Mucho tiene que ver el corte y tipo de tela de la prenda, a si que esten concientes de eso cuando escojan prendas con rayas.

La blusa peplum es una de mis piezas favoritas, mas que nada por que es de encaje. Le agregue unos pantalones color rojo para hacer que el atuendo tuviera un "pop" de color. De accesorios decidi agregarlos en tonos oro ya que la bolsa de Just Fab tiene toques dorados tambien. Por cierto, esa bolsa es una de mis favoritas del momento. Apoco no esta super linda? Los zapatos y el collar tambien son uno de mis favoritos del mes. Los he estado usando bastante.

Downy Presents #LatinosImparables with Jesse y Joy at the House of Blues in San Diego

When Downy invited me to attend the #latinosimparables concert with Jesse & Joy in my city, San Diego California, I was beyond excited as I love their music, and I had been planning to attend that same concert. What I did not know was that those passes also included a meet and greet. Had I known in advance, I would have dressed up a bit more hehe.

The concert took place at the House of Blues, and it began with a talented new female singer named Lilo. While she was singing, I was waiting by the backstage door for a chance to meet Jesse & Joy; however, Lilo's song "Estupida No Soy" (I'm not Stupid) caught my attention. The song narrates the experience of a woman who decides to finally leave her "boyfriend" after she realizes that he was just using her. Before the concert, I had not heard about Lilo, but I liked her music style.

After Lilo sung that song, the other people who had backstage passes and I were let in to meet Jesse & Joy. For those of you who do not know them, they are a Mexican pop duo conformed by bother and sister. By the way, I attended the show with my awesome brother who, like Jesse & Joy plays the guitar. I, on the other hand, only sing in the shower, lol!

I had a lot of fun that night. I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted, but I enjoyed every minute of it! I even reconnected with an old professor of mine. While my brother and I waited to enter the concert, in front of us was a math professor I had when I attended Community College. I got to meet some of his family there. His sister-in-law, Eva, is a blogger as well, so we immediately clicked. It was certainly and amazing day.

Cuando Downy me invito al concierto de la serie #Latinosimparables con Jesse y Joy aquí en San Diego California, me emocione muchisimo ya que amo la música de Jesse y Joy y tenia ganas de asistir a ese mismo concierto. Lo que no sabia es que esos pases tambien incluían poder participar en el "meet and greet" para conocerlos. De haber sabido antes, me hubiera arreglado un poco mas jeje.

El concierto se llevo acabo en el House of Blues. La talentosa Lilo abrió el concierto. Mientras ella cantaba, yo esperaba a entrar al "meet and greet" a un costado del escenario, pero su canción "Estupida No Soy" me gusto mucho. La canción narra la experiencia de una chica que decide por fin dejar a su novio al darse cuenta de que el solo la usaba y no la amaba. Antes del concierto, no había escuchado de Lilo, pero me gusto mucho su música y su esitlo.

Después de que Lilo cantara "Estupida No Soy," yo y las otras personas que también tenían pases para conocerlos pudimos entrar a tomarnos una foto con Jesse y Joy, y recibimos una camiseta autografiada. Jesse y Joy, por si no los conocen, es un duo de música pop mexicana conformado por dos hermanos. Por cierto, asistí a este concierto con my hermanazo quien, como Jesse y Joy, también toca la guitarra. Yo? Yo solo canto en la regadera, lol!

La verdad me divertí mucho! No tome tantas fotos como hubiera querido pero disfrute cada momento. De hecho, mientras esperábamos afuera para entrar al concierto, me encontré con un profesor de mate que tube hace mil años. Jamas pensé volver a encontrármelo y menos en un concierto de Jesse y Joy. También conocí a su familia. Su cuñada, Eva, también tiene un blog, así que hicimos "click" de inmediato.

Poshmark Party in San Diego: Sell, Buy, and Have Fun!

Do you have pieces in your closet that you no longer wear? Well, there is no need to leave them in your closet any longer. Now, you can sell the items you no longer use and get cash to welcome new pieces (or... save). Last Wednesday I attended a Poshmark party hosted by San Diego bloggers, Paulina, Vanessa, Jocelyn, and Kelly. There, I learned a little bit more about how Poshmark works. Technically, you take a picture of the item you want to sell and post it on your Poshmark account. There are thousands of users who will view the item and are going to be able to purchase it. Poshmark receives 20% from the sale; however, they give you a pre-paid postage so that you do no have to pay for shipping. Poshmark also takes care of the credit transactions/payments. Isn't that awesome? I'm so looking forward to adding some pieces that I'm sure someone else can give more use to.

Tienes piezas en tu closet (ropero) que ya no utilizas? Bueno, ya no hay por que dejarlas en el closet para que nos quiten espacio. Ahora, puedes vender estas cosas que ya no usas y recibir dinero para comprar cosas nuevas o para ahorrar. El miércoles pasado fui a una fiesta de la tienda virtual Poshmark. Ahí otras chicas de San Diego, Paulina, Vanessa, Jocelyn, y Kelly, compartieron virtualmente las piezas que ellas tenían en venta y aprendí mas sobre como funciona esta pagina. Técnicamente le tomas una foto al articulo que quieres vender, lo pones en linea, y allí miles de personas tendrán acceso a verlo. Lo que me gusta es que puedes buscar por talla, numero de zapato, y tipo de pieza para facilitar que encuentres lo que buscas. Poshmark recibe un 20% de tu venta, pero ellos pagan el envío, te mandan una estampilla electrónica para que solo la imprimas y la pongas en la caja. También se encargan de las cuestión monetaria y ellos te pagan ati el 80% directamente depositandolo en tu banco o mandándote un cheque. Tu no tienes que preocuparte de nada. No es genial? Yo voy a poner unas cosas que ya no uso y que creo que alguien mas les puede sacar provecho. Por ahora no es internacional pero están pensando en abrirlo a mercados internacionales pronto! Crucemos los dedos!

El evento estuvo genial. Me encanto volver a ver a varias de mis compañeras bloggers y sobre todo conocer a nuevas! Chequen las fotos abajo y no olviden pulsar en sus nombres para visitar sus blogs! a mi se me olvido la memoria de la cámara así que no tome casi fotos :(

How pretty is this mint peplum top with lace? When I tried it on at the Shimmer fitting room it was instant love. And what about the liquid leggings? I WAS not a fan of leggings at all. I have a pair that I've never worn, but I've always wanted a pair of liquid or "leather" type leggings; however, I've never found an affordable pair. I have to thank Shimmer for providing these leggings for review, they made my day! The top is available in three colors (mint, coral, and tan) and of course, I needed the mint one.

Peplum tops for plus size women can be a little challenging to find; however, they are coming full force for spring and summer. Make sure to keep your eyes open because they often sell out fast. Below you will find four plus size peplum tops that are cute and (semi)affordable. I have option 1 and 2 and I love them. The mint peplum top has lace in the back and hides those "things" we want to disguise. The second top is from Torrid and let me tell you, I had been dying to have anything with a sweetheart cut. Blusas Peplum en Tallas Extras

Las blusas de corte "peplum" están super "in." Esta tendencia se hará aun mas popular durante estos meses de primavera/verano. Para nosotras que tenemos unos kilitos de mas, aveces se nos dificulta encontrar una blusa peplum ya que 1) casi no las hacen en nuestra talla y 2) muchas veces se venden súper rápido. The Lucky FABB Conference took place on April 4 and 5 in Los Angeles. This conference is aimed at bloggers and it provides tips and tricks to make your blogging better. This year they had amazing speakers. The keynotes were Kelly Osbourne, Drew Barrymore, and Betsey Johnson. All of them had amazing conversations and shared tips, personal experiences, and gave great advice on life, blogging, and balancing both. Fitting Room Confessions: Kardashian Kurves

Sears is home to the Kardashian Clothing line. Some time ago the Kardashian line expanded their repertoire to add plus size clothing, and I was not very impressed. However, I recently went to my nearest Sears and tried a couple of their new clothing pieces. Here is my review:

Selection:

As far as the plus size line goes, the selection is quite good. They have dresses, jeans, pants, tops, blazers, and fitness attire. The colors are trendy and the patterns are fashion forward.

Price and Quality:

The prices in this line are extremely steep and the quality of some of their pieces is simply not worth spending retail price. However, Sears, at least when I went, had amazing deals on their jeans and a 40% off on other items.

Fit:

The fit of 99.9% of the things that I tried is irregular. I had to go up a size or two on certain pieces, which is why my fitting room confessions is so short. I got tired of leaving the fitting room to exchange pieces. The jeans that I tried, however, are pretty true to size, extremely comfortable, and super stretchy.

Pros:

The Kardashian Kurves line is very complete and trendy. They have a variety of styles and patterns that will sure fit your style. They also have accessories to complement your outfit.

Cons:

The quality of some of the pieces seemed to be a little low for the price and the irregular fitting can get a little annoying at times. Fortunately, they do go up to a size 24, but I hate having to dress and undress to go get a new size.

Here are some of the pieces I tried. The jeans (blue and "coral") I had to buy. THEY ARE AMAZING!

Sears es la casa de la linea de ropa Kardashian. Unos meses atras esta linea se expandio a incluir en su repertorio una linea de ropa "plus" llamada Kardashian Kurves. Inicialmente no me gusto mucho lo que ofrecían, pero en esta visita a la tienda Sears si quede complacida. Aqui esta mi reseña:

Selección:

En cuestión de la linea plus, la seleccion es buena ya que cuenta con vestidos, pantalones, blusas, sacos, y ropa deportiva. Tambien, los colores e imprenta son a la moda.

Precio y Calidad:

Los precios de esta linea son extremadamente altos para la calidad de la ropa. Lo bueno es que Sears por lo regular tiene buenas ventas. Cuando fui tenían el 40% de descuento en la mayoría de las piezas. Yo, en lo personal, no pagaría el precio regular por ellas.

El Corte:

El corte del 99.9% de la ropa que me probe es irregular. Tuve que agarrar una o dos tallas mas grande en algunas piezas, lo cual es la razon por la cual mi post del dia de hoy es corto. Me canse de entrar y salir del vestidor para cambiar tallas. Los jeans que me probe si son a la medida, aparte de que son mega comodos y super stretch.

Pros:

La linea Kardashian Kurves esta muy completa y tiene cosas a la moda. Tienen variedad y estilos que seguramente te gustaran. También tienen accesorios que complementan tus atuendos.

Contras:

La calidad de alguna de las piezas es relativamente baja por el precio que la venden. Tambien, el corte irregular puede ser algo que como consumidora me desespero. Afortunadamente, tienen medidas del 18-24.

Aqui abajo les dejo algunas de las cosas que me probe. Los jeans (azules y coral) los tube que comprar. SON LO MAXIMO! Pronto un Haul!

☼ New Hair Color: Ombre For Spring and Summer ☼

Hello Girls,
I used to always get blonde highlights when I was younger, but it has been years since I've added color to my hair (except the time that I went to get highlights and they weren't even visible hehe). Yesterday, I decided that I needed a change, something to spice up my look. I've always wanted to try the "ombre" style hair, but I was too scared to try it. I think I was scared of change.

Anyhow, I looked at Yelp and some of the salons that I initially called did not have any openings. Finally, after much search, I found Frederick Michael's Salon. The salon is located in Camino del Rio South in San Diego California (on the other side of the freeway from the Mission Valley Mall). The shopping center is small and the salon looks small from the outside; however, it is HUGE! There is a lot of (comfortable) waiting space for you and/or your friends.

I made an appointment with Zach and, to be honest, I was a bit nervous. Fortunately, he made me feel comfortable from the start by explaining to me what he was doing and why he used a particular technique. The other stylists were very friendly and some said bye to me as I was leaving, a gesture that I really appreciate. I like to feel acknowledged as a customer.

The only negative thing about the Salon was that some of the stations where not too organized, you could see food (maruchan soups) on top of their work stations, which made that particular area look a bit unprofessional. However, it is important to note that each person kept their area differently; some super clean and others a bit unorganized. Overall, however, my experience was positive. I definitely see myself returning there. From my understanding, most (if not all) of the stylists rent their booth; therefore, when you call to make an appointment you might find yourself not knowing who to make the appointment with. For that reason, I would really like for the salon to have a webpage so that we, as new clients, can know who the stylists are and make an appointment with the appropriate person.

Cuando era "chica" siempre me hacia rayitos güeros, pero desde hace ya muchos años no le hago nada a mi cabello (excepto esa vez hace que fui a hacerme "rayitos" y ni se notaban jeje). Sin embargo, ayer decidi que necesitaba un cambio; algo que me diera un poco mas de vida, que se mirara diferente. Por mucho tiempo habia deseado hacerme las, ya famosas, mechas californianas que son estilo degradado, pero me daba miedo cambiar. Creo que le tenia miedo al cambio.

Pero bueno, ayer mismo me puse a buscar en la ya famosa pagina de Yelp y ninguno de los salones que inicialmente llame tenian tiempo disponible. Por fin, despues de mucho buscar, encontre el salon Frederick Michael's Salon. Este salon de belleza esta localizado en Camino del Rios Sur en San Diego California (del otro lado de la autopista 8, enfrente de el centro comercial de Mission Valley). El lugar donde se localiza este salon es un centro "comercial" chiquito. De afuera, el salon de belleza parece ser pequeño pero cuando entras esta ENORME! Hay mucho espacio para que tu y/o tus amigos o acompañantes esperen comodamente.

Yo hice una cita con Zach. Para serles honesta, estaba un poco nerviosa. Lo bueno fue que el me hiso sentir comoda desde que llegue. Mientras trabajaba en mi pelo me explicaba que era lo que estaba haciendo y por que usaba ciertas tecnicas, lo que me ayudo a sentirme con mas confianza. Los otros estilistas tambien eran muy amables y cuando caminaba hacia la salida, varios de ellos se despidieron, lo cual me agrado.

Lo único negativo que puedo decir de este salon es que algunas estaciones de trabajo no se miraban muy organizadas. En una podias ver todo amontonado y una sopa maruchan arriba de su estacion de trabajo. Cada estilista mantiene su area de trabajo diferente. Unas estaciones estaban mega limpias, otras mas o menos, y unas mas desorganizadas. Sin embargo, mi experiencia aqui y con este estilista en particular fue buena. Tengo entendido que la mayoría de los estilistas rentan su espacio, así que cuando llamas no sabes ni con quien hacer la cita. Por esa razón me gustaría que el salón tuviera una pagina de internet para poder saber quienes son sus estilistas y así poder hacer una cita sabiendo quien te va a tocar.

For many plus-size women adding colorful pieces to our outfits may seem challenging. We constantly fear non-neutral and bright colors because we have been made to believe that bright colors over-emphasize "problem" areas. While it is true that black can act as a "camouflage," we can still incorporate bright colors into our wardrobe.

In this case, I used this polka dots top from Target; I added a teal blazer, and finished my outfit with these red bottoms from Torrid. For many of us, leaving black completely can be hard, but remember that you can play around with your pieces to make other colors the focal point of your outfits.

By the way, this outfit will look 100 times better with heels, but I simply wanted to be comfortable that day!

Para muchas chicas agregar color a su guardarropa puede parecer todo un desafío. Por lo general le tememos a los colores vibrantes que no sean neutrales. Por años nos han hecho creer que los colores claros sobre enfatizan nuestras áreas "problemáticas." Aunque es verdad que el color negro puede camuflajear muchas de esas áreas, aun así podemos y debemos incorporar color a nuestro guardarropa.

En el caso del atuendo de hoy, use esta blusa de lunares que compre en Target (la cual aun esta disponible en varias tiendas), le agregue esta blazer de color verde-azulado y termine el atuendo con un pantalon rojo. Recuerden que aunque no podamos dejar el negro por completo, aun así podemos jugar con nuestras piezas para no hacer del negro el color principal de cada atuendo.

Por cierto, este atuendo se miraria mil veces mejor con zapatillas pero la verdad, no tenia ganas de usarlas, quería estar cómoda jejeje.

The weather here in San Diego has been warming up; however, we can still feel a little bit of a cold breeze. Because of that I decided to pair this pink/coral top with this amazing blazer. This outfit reminds me that spring and summer are just around the corner.

Finding a good fitted mint blazer for a plus size body is hard, but I'm extremely happy with this one. You girls need to check it out! It is the right length and the right cut.

El clima aqui en San Diego California ya esta calentando, pero aun así de repente se siente un poco de aire frio. Por eso, decidí ponerme mi blusa rosa/melon y la convine con un saco color menta que me recuerda que la primavera y el verano estan a la vuelta de la esquina.

Encontrar un saco color menta que funcione bien con mi cuerpo es mega difícil, pero debo confesar que este saco me encanto. A mis lectoras de tallas plus, les recomiendo que vallan por el ya! Es el color corte y largo perfecto.

♥ CFDA Fashion Incubators Media Brunch Event ♥

Last sunday the San Diego Style Bloggers were invited to attended the Fashion Incubator Media Bruch event that featured the ISAORA brand. ISAORA is a men sportswear brand that launched in 2009. The event was at the rooftop of the W Hotel in San Diego, which has an amazing view of downtown, great architecture, and an amazing interior design.

The W hotel treated us to some great brunch bites and drinks, and we got to mingle with the ISAORA designers, fellow bloggers, and other guests. I certainly had an amazing time and enjoyed every moment at the W San Diego.

El domingo pasado las chicas de San Diego Style Bloggers fuimos invitadas a un evento para concocer mas sobre la marca ISAORA, la cual es una linea de ropa para caballeros que se lanzo en el 2009. El evento fue en la terraza de el Hotel W San Diego. La vista desde ahi es genial. Se puede ver el centro de San Diego y sus edificios. Aparte, el lugar era muy comodo, amplio y con una arquitectura genial.

El hotel W se encargo de consentirnos. Tenian pequeños aperitivos y bebidas. En el evento tuvimos la oportunidad de convivir con los diseñadores de ISAORA y con otras bloggers e invitadas. La verdad me diverti muchisimo y disfrute de cada momento en el hotel W. Aparte de conocer mas sobre la marca, me encanto conocer a otras chicas super talentosas.

Shimmer es una tienda local que recientemente también abrió su tienda en linea. Antes de continuar les cuento que HACEN ENVIOS A TODO EL MUNDO! Muchas de ustedes me han comentado que no tienen acceso a este tipo de ropa allá en Mexico, así que espero que esta información les sirva. Sus tallas "normales"van desde talla chica (Small) a grande (Large) y sus tallas grandes van de talla 1X a 3X. This top is very simple, but what makes it unique are the spikes that it has on the shoulders.

Trendy Colors

I really this top. I liked that it was mint, that it had a "pearl" detail, and most of all the "denim" contrast.

Esta blusa me gusto mucho. Me gusto que era color menta, que tenia un detalle de "perlas," y adore el contraste con mezcalina en el cuello y donde van los botones.

One of the things that I love about Shimmer is that most of their pieces have small details (like the rhinestones on this top) that make the items different. I really liked the color and details of this top; however, I didn't like that it was shorter in the front (at least that was how it fit me hehe).

Floral Prints

I sooo wanted this top to work. It is perfect for spring!!!!! This top was a bit tight on the bust area, but I looooved the print and style. If you have a Shimmer store near you, I recommend it 100%. It is the perfect spring top! You can tell by all the pictures I took that I really liked it :)

Realmente queria que esta blusa funcionara. Es perfecta para la primavera. Sin embargo, me quedo un poco ajustada en el area del busto, pero me encanto el estilo! Si tienes una tienda Shimmer serca de ti y eres un poco (o mucho) mas delgada que yo, te la recomiendo al 100%. Realmente pueden ver, dado a que tome muchas fotos de esta blusa, que realmente me enamoro :)

Studs

This red top was very pretty, but it did not fit me at all. It was extremely tight :( I loved the style and the material. What attracted me to it was the peplum and studs. :(

Animal Print

I fell in love with this pink animal print top. I forgot to take a picture of the back, but it has black lace, which made the back see-thru. This top fit me perfectly, except in the front area where it opened up (this is a recurrent problem for me in most tops). I'm planning on going back for it. When I do, I plan on just adding a safety pin. Remember: DON'T BE AFRAID TO MAKE MODIFICATIONS. Sometimes, a small change/addition can make a piece work perfectly!

Me encamore de esta blusa rosa de "animal print." Se me olvido tomarle una foto a la parte de atras pero tiene encaje en toda la espalda. Esta blusa me quedo perfecta, excepto por ese detallito de enfrente donde se abre un poco en el area del busto (este es un problema recurrente para mi jeje). Estoy planeando en regresar por ella. Cuando lo haga le pondre un segurito para solucionar ese problemita. Acuerdense que aveces tenemos que hacer pequeñas modificaciones/adiciones para que las prendas funcionen. Que no les de miedo!

Awesome Fitted White Jeans

These Jeans are AMAZING! They are by a brand called Wax Jeans, which is sold at Shimmer. I don't know about you, but it is really hard for me to find well-fitted jeans in any color, but especially white. I think I haven't had a pair of white jeans in more than five years. These jeans are super comfortable, stretchy, they mold to your body, and they do not feel cheap. They retail for $23.99. I had to get them. I can't wait to wear them out.

Estos jeans son INCREIBLES! Son de una marca llamada Wax Jeans, la cual es vendida en las tiendas Shimmer. No se ustedes pero es muy difícil para mi encontrar pantalones de cualquier color, pero en especial blancos, que se ajusten perfectamente a mi cuerpo. Creo que no he comprado/usado jeans blancos desde hace mas de cinco años. Estos jeans son súper cómodos, son súper stretch, se amoldan a tus "curvas," y no se sienten baratos. Su precio también me encanto. Solo cuestan $23.99 y por eso los tuve que comprar. Ya quiero usarlos!

✿ Hello, Spring! ✿ The Yellow Plus Size Blazer

Who said plus-size women cannot pull of neon colors? I had been waiting forever to wear this yellow blazer that I purchased a couple of months ago from Torrid. Here, in California, the weather has not warmed up yet, but I just couldn't wait any longer to use those pieces that I have been saving for spring and summer.

By the way, I realize that I have posted way too many outfits with the Stiletto and the Polka Dot Jeans. I promise they are not the only pants in my closet. I just can't stop wearing them. They are comfortable and super cute. I recommend them 100%. Oh, and that color-block purse from Target is also super cute, spacious, and versatile. If you can still find it, I can assure you that it will be a good buy. Who can go wrong with black and white?

Quien dijo que las chicas gorditas no podemos usar colores neón? Desde hace mucho estaba esperando poder usar este blazer amarillo que compre hace unos meses en Torrid. Aquí en California el clima aun no se ha hecho cálido, pero yo ya no podía esperar mas para empezar a usar esas piezas que tengo designadas para primavera/verano.

Por cierto, ya se que he subido varios/muchos atuendos con los jeans de Stiletto de Torrid, y también los de lunares. Les prometo que no son los únicos jeans que tengo en mi closet jeje. Es solo que esos jeans me encantaron. Son cómodos y super lindos. Los recomiendo al 100%. Ah, por cierto, esa bolsa en blanco y negro de Target es otra de mis cosas favoritas. Esta super bonita, me encanta la estructura, esta espaciosa, y es muy versátil. Aun la pueden encontrar en algunas tiendas. La verdad es que con esos colores no hay pierde. El blanco y negro son un clásico!

Mini-Trip to Tecate, B.C. Mexico

Last wednesday I took a mini road trip with my mother to Tecate B.C., Mexico. I have family there, so we wanted to take advantage and visit them too. Tecate is a small city located on the U.S./Mexico border. It is well known for it's beer, which has the same name, and which is served all over Mexico.

I have visited Tecate since I was small and there is one place where I MUST stop by every time I go, and that is the Paleteria La Michoacana (The Ice Cream Parlor named La Michoacana). There are many Ice Cream Parlors in the area, but the one in the pictures below is my favorite. They have nachos, ice cream, fruit salads, fruit water, popcorn, "esquites" (corn in a cup), and many other "Mexican" snacks.

The Ice Cream Parlor is located in front of the main park. Once you enter Tecate through the San Diego 94 freeway, you go straight down and you will see the park. The park is always very vivid and full of movement. Vendors sell jewelry, accessories, small guitars, candy, and many other things. Older men gather around the park's tables and play poker and couples gather around the kiosk to talk. Tecate can be a very small city, but it is definitevely full of life. If you have not visited Tecate, I can assure you that you will love it.

El Miercoles pasado tenia el día libre y decidí darme un paseo con mi mam a Tecate B.C. Tengo familia allí así que aprovechamos para visitarlos también. Tecate, por si no sabes, es una pequeña ciudad localizada en la frontera Mexico/Estados Unitos. Es muy conocido por su Cerbeza del mismo nombre, la cual es muy popular en todo Mexico.

He visitado Tecate desde hace mucho tiempo y siempre hay un lugar donde TENGO que parar y ese es la Nevería La Michoacana. Ya se, hay muchas neverías con ese nombre pero la que ven en la foto de abajo es la numero uno. Esta nevería tiene un espacio grande donde puedes disfrutar con tus amigos y/o familia. La nevería esta localizada enfrente de el parque principal. En cuanto entras a Tecate por la autopista 94 de San Diego puedes ver el parque y la neveria que les comento. El parque siempre tiene movimiento. Puedes ver vendedores que venden adornos de cristal, joyería, accesorios, dulces y muchas cosas mas. Tambien puedes ver a hombres mayores sentados en las mesas del parque jugando cartas y parejas paseando y sentados alrededor del kiosko. Tecate puede ser una ciudad pequeña pero esta llena de vida! Si aun no visitas Tecate te aseguro que te va a gustar.

I used to think that printed jeans would make me look larger, so I used to stay away from them, but I have to say that these polka dot jeans from Torrid are awesome! They are comfortable and I think they fit us, plus size women, very well. One of my favorite things of these jeans is their zipper. I think that gives it a very unique look that you will not find elsewhere.

Antes pensaba que los jeans con algún tipo de diseño me harían verme mas grande pero confieso que cuando vi estos jeans me enamore. Estos jeans de "lunares" de Torrid son lo máximo! Son cómodos y creo que el corte y diseño nos favorece mucho a nosotras las gorditas. Una de las cosas que me encanto de estos jeans es que tienen un cierre en la parte de abajo que les da un toque único que no he visto en otros jeans!

San Diego Fashion Show Event at Shimmer

Shimmer is a fast fashion retailer based in the San Diego area. They also have an online store where they sell some of their most popular items. One of this things that I love of Shimmer is that they cater to everyone; as the title states, "every age and size." Yesterday, Shimmer invited the general public and local bloggers to a VIP fashion show to showcase their new fashion.

The event provided free manicures, massages, and makeovers to everyone that wanted one and free goodie bags (as seen on my instagram) to the first people to arrive. I certainly felt pampered and enjoyed every second there. The fashion show was amazing. I loved that they showed how their fashion can be used by people of all ages and sizes.

I used to only go to the Shimmer in the Chula Vista mall because half of the store is dedicated to plus-size clothing, but I was surprised of the large selection of clothing that I saw at the Plaza Bonita Shimmer store. I will certainly be going back.

Another highlight of the night was meeting the amazingly sweet Maxine, owner of Vanity Girl Hollywood. Yes, those mirrors that we have seen all over Youtube and that we dream of. Shimmer uses Vanity Girl mirrors in their stores and trust me, seeing them in person makes me want them even more. I hate doing my makeup in the morning and leaving the house to discover that I missed a spot of foundation. Who's with me on that? I know I'm not the only one!

Lastly, I enjoyed meeting other fashion bloggers that share the love for fashion, blogging, and beauty. I don't feel so alone anymore. It's great to have a community of people that understand what it means to be part of these cyber communities.

Shimmer es una tienda de "moda rápida" (como la de f21) que esta basada en el area de San Diego California aunque tambien venden en linea. Una de las cosas que me gusta de esta tienda es que venden ropa en tallas regulares y hasta 3x. Ayer, Shimmer invito al publico y a Bloggers a un evento VIP donde habría una pasarela que mostraría sus nuevos modelos y las nuevas tendencias.

El evento brindo al publico manicuras, maquillaje, masaje y peinado gratis aparte de botana, bebidas y una bolsita con regalitos que mostre en mi Instagram. De verdad que me senti super consentida! El show de moda me encanto. Ame que enseñaron moda/atuendos que pueden ser usados por personas de cualquier edad y talla.

Yo he comprado en Shimmer por varios años pero solo he comprado en su tienda localizada en Chula Vista ya que tienen una sección gigantesca dedicada a moda plus; sin embargo, me di cuenta que aunque tienen una sección mas pequeña en Plaza Bonita, su selección y variedad de ropa es grande. Definitivamente regresare a esta locación!

Uno de los mejores momentos de la noche fue haber conocido a Maxine, dueña de la compañía Vanity Girl Hollywood. Si, la dueña de esos espejos con focos que hemos visto por todo Youtube y que la mayoría soñamos con tener. Verlos en persona me convenció que necesito uno. Odio maquillarme en la mañana, salir y darme cuenta que me falto maquillaje en algún lado. Quien esta conmigo en esto? Se que no estoy sola!

Finalmente, me encanto tener la oportunidad de conocer a otras chicas bloggers que comparten mi amor por la moda, belleza, y este mundo bloggero. Ya no me siento tan sola jeje. Es súper padre tener una comunidad de personas que entienden lo que significa ser parte de esta comunidad cibernética.

Chill Day: Plus Size Casual Outfit

Now that my vacations are close to ending I decided to take some time to enjoy my last days of mental relaxation. Today I decided to take my dog, companion, and joy, Vicky (a chihuahua mixed with dachshund) to the park and decided to take a couple of impromptu pictures. What do you like to do to relax? Ahora que mis vacaciones están cerca de terminar decidí tomar un poco de tiempo para realmente disfrutar mis últimos días de relajación mental. Hoy decidí llevar a mi perrita, compañera, y pedazo de felicidad, Vicky (una chihuahua cruzada con "Salchicha") a caminar al parque. Estando allí, decidí tomar algunas fotos improvisadas. A Tweed Jacket for a Casual Day

I love my city, but I have to confess that I have not visited many of those places that I loved to go when I was younger. One of my new year's resolution is to post more outfits and make more youtube videos for my english and spanish channel. For that reason, and taking advantage of my vacations from work and school, I decided to visit one of my favorite places; Mt. Soledad Monument located in La Jolla California. This monument commemorates veterans of war and has plaques that name our soldiers. It also has a beautiful cross and amazing views of the city.

For this cold, almost freezing, California day, I decided to wear my new Chanel inspired tweed jacket. I purchased this one at Lane Bryant for only seventy bucks and I love it! This jacket is comfortable, fashionable, it feels very light and I think it looks good on me. I decided to wear it with my cream colored top, also from Lane Bryant, and a pair of dark jeans from Torrid. I paired my outfit with gold tone accessories like the bird necklace from Forever 21, which I think is too adorable. I also added a pyramid and spike bracelet also from Forever 21, and I finished off my outfit with a new pair of spiked flats that I got for christmas and a clutch from JcPenny. This outfit is a cross between formal and casual, but I think it looks cute. Remember that we need to take advantage of our clothing pieces. Not because a piece is classy do we need to wear it with heals. We can always dress up or down any piece!

Me encanta mi ciudad pero debo confesar que hace tiempo que no visito varios de los lugares que en mi niñez y juventud me encantaban. Para este año nuevo, uno de mis propósitos es tratar de bloggear mas, así que aproveche que estoy de vacaciones del trabajo y la escuela para ir al Monumento en la Montaña Soledad. Esta montaña esta localizada en San Diego en una de las zonas mas exclusivas; La Jolla. Aquí se encuentra un monumento que conmemora a los veteranos de la guerra. Estando en la cima de la montaña, este lugar cuenta con unas vistas preciosas aunque debo confesar que hace mucho frió.

Para este día casi congelante me puse este saco de "tweed." No se como se dice en español pero el diccionario dice que es "paño cruzado escocés de lana." El chiste es que este tipo de sacos son muy populares ya que Chanel tiene varios modelos de estos. Aunque claro, no todos queremos, o podemos, gastar mucho dinero para vernos bien. Este saco lo compre en Lane Bryant por solo setenta dólares y me encanta. El saco es cómodo, no me acalora, y creo que me favorece mucho. Lo convine con una blusa color crema, tambien de Lane Bryant, y unos jeans súper casuales y cómodos de la marca Torrid. De accesorios utilice colores dorados, como el collar con pajaritos de Forever 21 que ame y las pulsera de piramide combinada con una de picos negros con dorado. Finalize el atuendo con unos zapatos cafes (casi nudes) que me regalaron en Navidad y un bolso de mano de JcPenny. Este atuendo es un cruze entre formal y casual pero siento que se ve super bien. Recuerden que hay que sacarle provecho a nuestras piezas. No por que algo sea formal lo tenemos que usar solo con zapatillas. Siempre podemos hacer que nuestras piezas luzcan formal o casual y asi sacarles mas provecho.
