At some point last year I abandoned blogging. I’m not sure exactly why I stopped, I just did. I was on a plane last night bored out of my mind and decided it was time to start blogging again. I don’t know if one person reads my post, hundreds or even thousands, but either way I’m going to start again.  As usual the posts will range from random shit to interesting shit to shit that doesn’t make sense at all. In the end I’ll just be blogging and that’s what I’ll do!

Thanks to the help of our users we now know what’s causing skewed images that are posted via the iPhone app. The issue is with pictures taken holding the phone horizontally. The issue does not effect pictures taken vertically. We are currently working on a fix and will let you know when an updated version of the app is available. Until then keep those phones vertical when taking pics.

The Denver Broncos and New England Patriots will be playing Saturday night at 8PM (EST) in an AFC Divisional Playoff game. One of the major headlines of the game will be Denver’s quarterback Tim Tebow playing in only his second playoff game. As many of you know Tebow has risen to superstar status this season for getting the Bronco’s to the playoffs. His unconventional style of play and deep religious beliefs have made him a sports figure that everyone is talking about.

One of the trademarks of Tim Tebow is when he prays or “tebows” after a score or a win. Tebowing has become a national phenomemon and you see everyone doing it from the average joe to celbrities. In case you’re one of the few who haven’t seen the famous tebowing position here it is:

As you all know I like to promote why using our Twitter pic sharing service over the others is your best choice. It’s a little tough to do in 140 characters or less so I thought I would write a blog post. The post isn’t meant to slam the other sites, it’s to give you a broader perspective based on your pic posting goals and ultimately let you make the right decision for you!

I need an easy way to post my pics.

We have three different ways to post your pics on our site. You can post your pics directly from the website, via email or using our iPhone or Android apps (links to apps located on the homepage).

I like when my pic appears in Twitter. With MPP you have to click on a link to see the pic.

There’s a very good reason for this. It all depends on the reason why you post pics on Twitter. If you want to casually show people what you’re doing then having your pics viewable on Twitter may be a good idea. If you’re using your pics to promote yourself then posting them on our site is a FAR better idea. We purposely do not show pics on Twitter because there are ZERO links that a viewer has the ability to click. On MPP you have the ability to show a link to your site or any other sites where you have a presence. This set of links always shows on the left column for your visitors to see. The last thing you want to do is present your viewers with a dead end! This is what happens when they view your pic directly on Twitter or most pic hosting sites for that matter.

I want to post my pics with MPP, but some people complain that they can’t view pics on MPP because they don’t have access to the site.

Again, this goes back to a question you have to ask yourself, are you posting pics casually or to help promote yourself. If they can’t see the pics on our site, which is an adult site, they won’t be able to see your adult site or any other adult site that you post/sell content on. Therefore this group of users is never going to purchase anything from you, they just like to see your free pics.

You’re running a risk by posting your pics on some of the more popular sites.

If you don’t know already the big pic sharing sites such as TwitPic, Yfrog Lockerz and many other mid-tier sites are nudity free. You might be able to slip some pics past them, but once they find you’re posting nude pics kiss your account good bye. Since we are an adult site you don’t have to worry about your sexy pics being removed or your profile being deleted.

I like to post my pics on blogging sites such as Tumblr.

This is a good strategy, but you may be limiting yourself. When posting your pics solely on a blog you’re missing out on the ability for other “peripheral users”. These are users that are enjoying another users pic on the site and happen to browse around the site and see your pics also. When using a blog you’re stuck to a narrow view of only your fans seeing your pics. But we’re not saying that using a blog isn’t a good option. That’s why we’ve started implementing with blogging sites such as Tumblr. You can post your pics with us and they will automatically appear on Tumblr…and other blogging tools soon to come.

The new profile page that I teased last month is now LIVE! Here are a few of the major highlights:

- General profile info and links now appear on the left column at all times.

- The live Twitter feed has been removed. To show the link to your Twitter page add it as a “Blog” in your bio section. I would suggest putting the text as simply Twitter.

- Websites & blogs bio section has been updated to display the name of your websites and blogs instead of the entire link (ie. http://mysexysite.com will show something like MySexySite). You have the choice to call your links whatever you want. Login to your admin page to make the updates. Note: during the refresh some links were lost so I encourage everyone to login and check.

- You now have a “wall”. This is where you can post announcements and interact directly with people on your profile page. To ensure that your announcements (ie original posts) do not get lost we’ve implemented a toggle button. Click your name on the upper right side and you and others will only see posts that you started.

Those are the major highlights. I’m sure you’ll see others when browsing through your new profile page. I hope you enjoy the refresh and I welcome any feedback or bugs you may encounter.

I encourage all of you to use this profile refresh as a time to look over your profile and brush it up if you haven’t updated it in awhile.

We will be launching some new functionality within a week and also doing a makeover of the existing profile pages. Ahead of this new launch we’re doing a little giveaway for new MODELS who sign-up and create a profile with us. I haven’t written a blog post in a long time so why not start writing again with a topic close to my heart….sharing photos on Twitter. There is by far no shortage of third party sites that are willing to host your precious Twitter photos.  Twitpic was one of the first to land on the scene and many have followed since. These sites have users in the 10′s if not 100′s of thousands of users that post millions of photos every day. Twitter photo sharing sites have not only fueled the ever growing photo sharing market, but also Twitter’s growth. So it took me by surprise, well not really, that Twitter is going to announce that they will have their own pic sharing service soon.

This won’t be the first time that Twitter has attempted to cut off the very hand(s) that fuel their growth. Earlier this year Twitter went after 3rd party sites such as TweetDeck and other Twitter based mobile application. Twitter’s reason for creating their own app was that they wanted to control their product. The verdict is not in yet, but there is yet to be a mass exodus from 3rd party apps to Twitter’s own branded app. This brings me to the “real” reason why Twitter is targeting 3rd party applications…..money.

While 3rd party apps have made tons of money from Twitter, Twitter is yet to make any significant revenue. As I said earlier Twitter will claim that they simply want to control their product, but the real reason is money. It amazes me that Twitter’s only visible revenue source is the sponsored tweet section of the site. You would think by now they would have thrown up a banner ad or two. Maybe Twitter is worried that putting up banner ads would scare away their early adopters. The reality is Twitter’s user base is large enough that they can lose a few of their early adopters and still be popular. Do you think celebrities and athletes (users who have the highest follower counts) care if a banner ad appears next to their tweets? I don’t think so!

So this brings me back to the original topic of the email, Twitter’s own pic sharing service. Just as Twitter targeted 3rd party apps the question will arise, “will users of 3rd party pic sharing sites ditch these sites in favor of Twitter’s pic sharing service?”. In the short-term I would say no. In the long term, possibly. It all depends on how tightly Twitter integrates their pic sharing service and if they let 3rd party sties integrate the same with no barriers. Adult pic sharing sites like ourselves will still be in a unique position to weather any sort of fall out. I seriously doubt that Twitter will open their arms and welcome adult photos to be stored on their servers. Only time will tell.
